Chapter 4

                              *Veronica's POV*

      I moved out of the room, looking left and right but every door looked the same. I looked for the stairs, but I couldn't find any. Now I understand why I needed a maid. Well since I don't know the way down I need to at least get food cause I am starving.

      I opened a huge door, way that my room door and every other room door. I moved inside, and closed the door behind me,all lights in the room switched on. I could see clearly it was a library. Nice, I can read about their history. I said as I climbed the ladder near a shelf labelled ' vegetarian ' I picked up a book and came down.

     I cleaned it with my palm to read the title. "How to break your vegetarian fast" I said as I moved to a stool to sit.

Cool, I wonder how. I looked more and saw a small transparent ball held up by brace on the book, below the title.

       'I think I have to put my blood in it .' I thought. I brought. Out my necklace which I tucked into my top. My mother told me not to ever remove it...... Reason have no clue. I leaned forward, put my index finger on top of the ball and used the pendant to cut my finger to let blood into it. 

      It stored the blood and the book opened. I read and read on vegetarian. And finally how to break the fast. 

"You have to drink your mate's blood."

"What? Why? How does it concern your mate's?." I asked my self as I kept on reading.

"If you drink too much due to it's sweet taste, he or she will die. If you are able to control yourself, both of you will survive.

   

     "Men vampires are weird, disgusting blood sucking things." I said as I closed the book and climbed to return it. 

       I came down from the ladder and dusted the dust off my hands. I looked up to see a guy, a handsome guy. It was really scary but I summoned courage and spoke. To the handsome guy with brownish blond hair, grey eyed, tall standing about 6ft and well built body.

"Who are you?." He asked me first like he could read my mind.

"Hmm.Veronica." I said 

"I don't seem to remember any name like that." He said between gritted teeth.

"I am new here. I was brought here yesterday night as a prisoner." I answered.

"Oh, okay then..... Why does every where smell so tasty." He said as he sniffed the air around me.

"I don't smell anything." I said also sniffed the air.

"You are human right?." He asked me

"Yes." I said as I moved back wards in case he was a vampire.

"Did you put your blood into a book to read ?." He asked 

"Yes, just to know about vampires who are Vegetarian's."

"Don't spill your blood just anywhere especially where vampires are. Okay." He said with a smile. That just confirmed that he was a vampire. A good one.... Unlike the annoying bastard.

"Okay, I understand." I said with a smile.

"Good, what is your name." He said

"Veronica, as I said earlier." 

" I know, just tried to recall if anyone I knew is answer the name Veronica. " He said

"My name is Justin mark." He added.

"Cool, nice to meet you." I said as I stretched my hand out to shake his. His hands were extremely cold.

" Am starving, please can you take me to eat." I said rubbing my flat stomach 

"Let's go. I will show you." He said as we left the library.

    At the dinning, made of glass. I sat next Justin my new vampire friend. And the annoying bastard at the head of the table. I felt uncomfortable but I was extremely hungry and had to eat. I never knew vampires ate human food. I faced my food squarely and avoided eye contact.

"What going on here? Why is no one talking?." Justin said breaking the silence.

"I don't feel like." He said as he looked back into his food.

"What is happening here?. Why is she here?." Justin asked.

"I really don't get it." I said shortly.

"Justin, shut up and face your food. I will tell you later." He said.

    To me he is always grumpy and rude, even to his friend. Yea, I think Justin is his friend. I stuffed my food into my mouth and cleaned it with a napkin and stood up.

"Please can I check around the house. I feel stuffy, staying in only one place. Please can I ." I said using my cutest face and feminine charm. That's if he had a heart. Cause I feel it is frozen ice.

"Fine, you can go." He said after much resistance. Yup, no one can resist my cute face.

"Yea, thank you." I shouted.

"But with your maid." He added.

"Don't worry,I will excort you."

Justin said with a smile.

"Great." I said as I looked at him finish his food and followed me outside.

    I saw beautiful flowers in a garden and at the center a spring hole with an angel in the middle made of ceramics.

    " You like it?." Justin asked.

"Yes, it is really beautiful." I said as I shifted my gaze to the flowers. "Wow, this is even more beautiful." I said out loud.

"Is it really that good, or you love flowers so much."

"Both." I said shortly as I moved closer to a side filled with peony flowers which had different colors, like white,red,and even pink.

"Wow, so cool." I said picking many.

"Don't take so much, Derek doesn't like it at all." Justin warned.

"Who is Derek."I asked with my right brow raise up.

"Ehn, you don't know?."

"No, I have no clue." I said in curiosity.

"The one who is always frowning and has a deep voice. The one that permitted you to look around the house...."Justin said.

"Oh, him. I know him by...." I said as I came closer to him and whispered words into his ear

"Annoying bastard."

     Justin laughed so loud and his way of laughing made me yo laugh. It was kinda weird-cute.

      Derek came out of the door and cleared his throat for attention.

"Why are you all laughing so loudly." He said with the usual frown on his face.

"Oh, you are here I never knew you had such an amusing prisoner. She said something and I can stop myself from laughing."

Justin said as he held his tummy and continued laughing.

"I didn't expect such stupid act from you. Justin. I can't believe it. Laughing at a stupid name.

'Annoying bastard' seriously.

I am highly disappointed in you."

  He said as he put his black spiky hair backwards.

"It is really funny okay." Justin said.

"What is wrong with you." Derek said looking at me.

"What did I do wrong?." I wondered.

"Calling me 'annoying bastard'." He said.

"You called me your prisoner." I said rudely.

"But you are." He said rolling his eyes at me.

"No, I am not. I always hated you since the first day you came to the grocery store and reported that I wanted to cheat you, which I didn't even care to do and I lost my job. And because I broke your phone, just a crack you kidnapped me. I don't get it what did i do wrong to deserve this from you. What?." I said as I fe lt hot tears running down my cheeks. I felt so weak and helpless and didn't want Justin and Derek to see this part of me. 

    I ran out of there and entered the house and went straight to my room. That's if it was, everything seems the same. I cried a little more and fell asleep.

                                    *Derek POV*

"Why did you do that to her."

Justin shouted at me.

"I didn't mean to. Okay."I said.

"Now, tell me why she is even here." Justin said in a rude tone.

"She is not even a vampire."

"Why do you care!." I yelled at him.

"Because, she seem nice and doesn't deserve this ill-treatment from you." Justin said raising his voice at me.

"Fine, I need to know more about her." I said shortly.

"What? I don't understand you at all. Please explain better." Justin commanded.

"She is my mate. I need her to change my mistake on becoming a vegetarian." I said as I looked at the expression on his face change.

"Wow! You finally found your mate. I am so happy for you. But why are you treating her like that, you know if she dies you also die." Justin said.

"Yes I know. She is in danger and I need to protect her." I said

"What is happening?." Justin asked.

"The Balians are near and wanted to kill her that night but I saved her and I have to watch and keep her save. So I can have my full power and destroy each and every one of them." I said

"But what I don't understand is why her. Why is she human and not vampire." I continued.

"Human or not, she is still your mate. Act a little bit nice. Okay." Justin said.

"Fine, I will." I said as we both entered into the house
