Khloe's POV:
I tended to stay near the table of food whenever I wasn't dancing with someone.
And luckily the boy from earlier, Marcus tended to stay around me as well and had offered me all of the dances we had so far.
Which honestly I was grateful for, he was easy to talk to as we got to know each other more and saved me the stress of choosing a partner for each dance.
I would try to initiate small talk with some of the other slaves and pets whenever Marcus would, but since socializing wasn't exactly my strong point, I just went with the next best thing.
Food.
And well, why wouldn't I when all of it was so deliciou
Nico's POV:I set the phone down, having ordered what I needed for Khloe.Another one of Khloe's groans sounded as I turned to face her.She had been like this all morning."Geez Khloe, what did you eat last night?"She barely opened her eyes, peering up at me from her curled-up position on the bed."Too much," she groaned again, tightening the hold her arms had around her stomach," of everything."I hummed a response. That explains it.Her body hadn't gotten use
Nico's POV:I let my fingers trail aimlessly against her back as I recalled what had happened that day."The funny thing is, I didn't go into that Pet Store expecting to leave with a pet," I admitted.Khloe's head tilted up a bit more to meet my eyes, one of her brows raised."Really?" She asked.I nodded."Really. I had no interest in looking for another pet until after the blood moon, and the truth is, I had gone into the store to look for another pet for Xander since I thought that he would be needing another one pretty soon."I paused for a moment, trying to recall the exact moment when I had changed my mind. I remember it being a fairly quick decision.
Khloe's POV:I was jolted awake as Nico suddenly harshly pulled me close to him, followed by him immediately sitting up, his breaths heavy and drawn out.Which was very shocking, but at the time, I didn't quite process it since I had just woken up and only knew the fact that it was still the middle of the night.I didn't process that anything was strange until he hastily got out of the bed and into his bathroom.Something was wrong.I quickly pushed myself up onto my elbow, looking through the darkness to see if I could figure out what was going on.I was about to say something but paused as soon as I made out his figure in the bathroom. He was just staring
Khloe's POV:I tugged the brush through my hair as carefully as possible, working out the many tangles that had formed throughout the day.I usually brush through my hair after I get out of the shower, but Nico was adamant on coming into the bathroom as soon as I turned the shower off this morning, barely giving me time to put some clothes on.From then on I guess I just got distracted and forgot.I sighed as the brush caught on yet another large tangle.Turning my head towards where Nico was, I began to gently brush it out. He's been a bit off ever since this morning. Ever since his nightmare. He still hadn't offered to talk about it, and I'm pretty sure t
Nico's POV:I ended up sitting on my bed, back against the headboard and had Khloe sit with her legs on either side of me.I figured that given our height difference, this was probably one of the most comfortable positions for us to do this in.Khloe's eyes were pretty much glued downwards. It was obvious that she was nervous about this."Are you sure you want to do this now?" I asked softly. She nodded slowly before lifting her head."Yeah," she responded quietly, failing to hide her nerves.I repeated her nod as a response, leaning forward.I didn't want to do this. I really didn't.
Khloe's POV:Today was the day.The day that I was to be taken away for two days. The transportation for us pets was already here according to Nico so we only had a couple minutes left with each other before we had to go down.My fingers grazed the collar around my neck.It had been so long since I had had to wear this for such a long time...My fingers then trailed to the mark that Nico had made on me the night before.Luckily Nico walked out from the closet before I could begin to dwell back on that experience too much.I watched as he walked over to me, holding one of his grey hoodies in his arms.
Khloe's POV:The drive there took longer than I remembered it taking. Long enough for the sun to set.Even with the covering that Nico's hoodie gave me, and the warmth from the other girls behind me, the wind caused by the drive here left me shivering.I pulled the collar of the hoodie over my nose as the car rolled down to a stop, inhaling Nico's scent in an effort to calm myself down.I just have to get through two nights here. That's it. Just two nights, easy enough...I just have to get through this, and then he's going to take me somewhere.I kept repeating those kinds of things in my head, forcing myself to slow down my breathing.
Khloe's POV:The room where the cages were was a fairly large one. It resembled a garage with its cement walls and floor. This too was different from my previous visits, as was the pungent smell of bleach that the room contained. The cages were set in a horseshoe shape around the room and were pretty much the exact size that I thought they would be.Eight feet across, four feet back, and about five feet tall. Just barely enough room for each of us to have a little room to ourselves as long as we were sitting down. All of us had been placed into the cages, and since It wasn't that late yet, A couple Vampires were walking around us, watching to make sure we weren't going to try something that they wouldn't like.As far as I could hear, no one was. All I could hear was the quiet chatting amongst the pets.No one had stepped out of line yet.Doe and I each sat across from each other, facing each other from the far
Khloe's POV:I woke up exactly where I should have, wrapped in Nico's arms.Well, I don't think Nico would consider this being wrapped in his arms.He was very upset last night that the wounds on my back prevented him from being able to hold me like he usually did, but he eventually settled with his hand on my lower back.I for one didn't care either way, as long as I was touching him in some way I was happy.I opened my eyes to scan the room, noticing that it was a lot darker than it usually was whenever I woke up.Nico's slow and steady breaths were the next thing that caught my attention.
Khloe's POV:Confusion filled my mind as I watched Nico leave the room in a flash. He said that he had found our out, so I guess he found a solution to our problem.I wondered what it could be as I tried to make the heat from Nico's kiss leave my face.I disregarded coming up with possibilities very soon, figuring that I would hear about it as soon as he comes back. With that thought process being disposed of in a matter of seconds, excitement and joy began to fill my mind again from the events that had happened only minutes before. The excitement that I had to hide while he was here so I didn't make a complete fool
Nico's POV:I didn't even try to suppress my huge breath of relief as I laid myself back against the bed."God it feels so good to finally have that off my chest," I admitted, stretching my hands above my head before laying on themIt was weird that I could actually feel a physical difference within myself like I was finally able to truly relax.I guess all the vampiric instincts that were screaming at me to take her had finally calmed down.Although they were very upset that I wasn't holding onto her right now.But it's probably for the best for both of us that I take some time to calm down after that whole thing l
Khloe's POV:His body stiffened as soon as I spoke. And to be honest, so did mine. This conversation had been on my mind ever since last night and I just wanted to hurry and get it over with.Get it over with and get some answers. My anticipation grew as Nico put his hands into his pockets."I did," he replied, he himself sounding nervous. My shoulders slumped a bit at his lack of a response, making my nerves even more on edge.It was like he was avoiding the questions at hand.
Nico's POV:I swallowed in my newly dry throat, exhaling an almost silent, nervous breath.Right... That topic.I knew that we were going to have to get to it eventually, but I didn't think that it was going to be this soon.Hell, there were a lot of things that had happened in the last twenty-four hours that I didn't think would happen.Yet despite all that, Khloe wanted to jump right into this.I searched her face, trying to see if I could find any hint as to how she felt about it, getting nothing but uncertainty.Sure, I kissed her, but in my defense, she defini
Khloe's POV:The world around me was calm as my consciousness came back to me.My body was warm and comfortable, a feeling that automatically told me that I was in Nico's bed.Memories of what had happened began to flash in my mind, forcing me to open my eyes, my heart skipping a beat at the thought that I had just passed out from the pain. What I saw, however, denied that thought.I was lying facing the bathroom, seeing Nico sitting in his desk chair. He was facing me, but he wasn't looking at me.Instead, he was hunched over, elbows set on his knees and his palms pressed against his forehead. His hair fell
Khloe's POV:It took another hit against my back before I let out an agonizing cry, my head automatically lowering to the floor in submission."I can't believe your nerve," Layla growled, landing another slash against my back, "For as long as Nicos kept you alive I thought you would have known better!"My tears ran thick and fast onto the floor as the cracking sound of the whip, and the occasional shredding of my shirt rang out repeatedly. My throat began to tighten enough to make me unable to scream effectively and left me quickly gasping for the air that suddenly seemed more limited."Nico doesn't need such a disobedient pet in his life," She began again, "An
Khloe's POV:I aimlessly wandered around the room, trying to think of something to do that would distract me for a short time before breakfast would arrive.Nico had hidden all of my art supplies in order to rid any suspicion, so I couldn't do that.I partially debated just laying in his bed, knowing that those pillows had the smell of him all over them.Although if I did that Layla would probably catch onto my scent and get upset.I honestly couldn't really do anything without risking me doing something that Layla wasn't going to like. And well, I was already so anxious from the past 24 hours that just doing nothin
Khloe's POV:I sat on the couch while Layla and Nico hurriedly got ready for breakfast, not having moved since I sat here last night.Last night... Where I had planned on just crying myself to sleep. But those plans switched around a lot faster than id care to think about.I didn't expect anything that happened last night. After what happened once Layla got here, I didn't expect anything at all.I didn't expect that Nico would try to comfort me, I didn't expect him to try to lay with me, and I didn't expect him to try to figure out why I was upset all while Layla was asleep.
