AVA'S POV

“Fuck! This is just insane! Totally absurd!” I exclaimed, losing my cool alongside my regal poise.

All I had wanted was to be reborn a vampire queen, maybe reset the time to when I had met Rowan or alter the course of events. But I got everything I never wanted, the moon goddess reducing me to a totally helpless and feeble freak, who couldn't even heal my own wounds.

“What kind of sick Joke is this?” I muttered, seething with confusion.

The face staring back at me didn't look so bad though, it was a strange yet familiar one.

‘I could live with this...’ I thought to myself, bringing myself to accept the fact that was staring at me.

I smiled warmly, seeing how charming I looked. For red blood eyes, I now had emerald green eyes. Winking, I muttered my words of gratitude, “Thank you Moon Goddess.”

‘Okay, I've got to move now. Time to do some discovery, starting with what I am, where I am, and maybe also who that old man from before was—not like it was important anyways.’

As soon as I walked out of the bathroom, the sight of the old man's corpse lying ojnthe ground filled me with disgust.

‘Okay let's try if this still works, not that I suppose it will,’ I thought to myself as I touched his wrist.

Informations began flowing into my head on impact with his. Ones that stuck the most was the fact that this ugly man, was an alpha.

Alpha Cassius of Ravenwood Pack.

The pack didn't ring a bell to me at all.

‘Maybe he didn't belong to my timeline.’ I concluded in my head.

“Werewolves now suck blood now?” I asked confused, now sure that he didn't belong to my timeline.

I also discovered I was nothing but a blood slave, my face winced in disgust.

“Well, that would make a lot of sense with all chubby flesh I had. How much blood do I even have?” I said sarcastically, relishing the fact that I was the lowest of the low.

But this mood didn't last for long because, I had bigger things to worry about, since technically, I just invited the wrath of all his pack members when I killed their alpha.

‘But seriously, you mean these people haven't even realized that their king is dead.’ I thought to myself as I stepped over him.

Having gotten all the information I could get regret suddenly washed over me. Being a Vampire Queen meant I had to be on guard always and all for love, I lost countless opportunities to realize the animosity Rowan had towards the human race, I would've discovered his ambitions and cut it off from the root.

I was still immersed in my thoughts that I didn't realize when the door was opened until I heard a clang of tray hitting the ground.

‘About time!’ I muttered, turning to look at the intruder. It was a maid, she was trembling as she stared at the Alpha's body.

“Y-you… You… Killed the Alpha. Y-you murdered Alpha Cassius…” She stuttered, trying to string her words together, her fingers trembling as she pointed at me.

“Shut up or else I'll send you to go join him,” I interrupted her coldly, my eyebrows slightly raised and my whole demeanor screamed of blood.

I heard footsteps rushing up the stairs, the maid had alerted them when she shouted. I would've stayed to fend them off given my power as the Vampire Queen but I was just an ordinary omega right now, a blood slave, with no power at all so I chose the easiest way out.

The window!

Considering the flight of stairs the guards were still climbing, I had a rough idea that it was a long way down.

I grabbed the window frame and down I went, disappearing into the darkness of the woods.

I must not have gone too far because after a while, I heard the fierce pursuit of the guards on my tail.

“The maid said she fled into the woods, so she must be going towards the border. Spread out across all borders and find her!” I heard a gruffy voice in the distance, dishing out orders.

Dammit! I should've pulled out the maid's guts when I had the chance!

“How do these werewolves even summon their wolves?” I wondered, trying to summon my wolf based on the knowledge I had gathered, especially from Alpha Cassius's memory.

“Dammit! That old man made this appear too easy.”

Seeing that didn't work, I started fleeing towards the northern territory, if I could beat the guards to it, then I reckoned I'd be safe. I didn't know how long I had ran but I was getting slower, tired but in the distance, Alpha Cassius's guards hadn't slowed down for a second.

“This only shows how useless I've become, I got an head start and I still can't outrun a couple guards who were once inferior to me. Darn it!” I lashed out in my heart, rage consuming me.

“You idiots! Have you been running around all the while? Follow her damn scent and bring her to me… alive!” Someone yelled at the rest of the guards.

“Okay, beta Marcus,” another man answered.

No no no no… Not the Beta!

This information fueled me on and an idea popped into my head, an idea that was enough to throw them off track.

I pulled on a tree branch as I ran, pulling it off. Then I found an end that was sharp, to an extent and tried cutting my own skin.

The skin cut open and warm blood flowed from it, much to my satisfaction.

“I can catch her scent stronger in this path. She's this way!” I heard someone yell.

‘Well it means it's working then.’

I began smearing my blood on some trees in a circular pattern, after which I licked on the cut. The cut closed up quickly this time.

‘That should keep them busy for a while,’ I thought, pulling off my clothes as well and threw it to the side, whilst I continued running.

After running for a while, I didn't hear them anymore, but the fear of getting caught fueled me to carry on. Well, not until I fell down, exhausted from all the running and well very hungry. I waited and listened carefully for a sound or anything to show they were at me, but there was none.

So I decided to get some rest for a while, catch my breath, before continuing my getaway. In my head, I replayed everything right from when I woke up till now, definitely not forgetting to mentally give myself a pat on the back for a job well orchestrated.

I didn't know how long I had sat there, but suddenly, I heard some sounds coming from the woods behind me.

‘Darn it, they found me so quickly?’ I mentally face palmed myself, feeling so frustrated about everything. ‘All that work, throw in the extra points for going naked in the woods in the middle of the night and they are still right on my heels.’

Immediately, I sprang to my feet and started running once again. Feeling invigorated, my pace quickened under the moonlight and I ran blindly until suddenly, something snapped on impact with my feet and I heard a squeaking noise.

I didn't bother to turn back to see what it was, it just made me move faster, until suddenly, I was hoisted up in a net.

“Who the fuck leaves a net in the middle of the woods?” I couldn't help shouting.

I definitely wasn't expecting an answer and neither was the answer directed at me, but an answer definitely came.

“Another Omega!” A rough male voice echoed in the forest. Sounded like he was pretty happy that his trap caught something, a werewolf to be rather specific.

‘Was that trap seating here all the while, waiting for me?’ I asked myself but quickly waved it aside since it didn't seem like the trap was for someone in particular.

The man to whom the voice from before belonged to, appear all too soon, and he wasn't alone, he was with some others, who were armed in many different ways.

They holstered their touches up at me. “Cut down the rope!” The gruff looking man spoke again, must be the head of this group.

Someone moved and in a matter of a few moments, the rope was cut down and I fell to the ground rather unceremoniously.

‘Ouch!’

I swallowed the pain from the fall, only showing a little discomfort on my face.

“She has a pretty good body right there, she would make good money for us if we take her to Alpha Cassius as a blood slave.” One of the men said.

Alpha Cassius!?

The man I already murdered whose guards were hot on my heels.

I couldn't go back there! They would kill me on sight.

Damn it, not again!

ALPHA AXEL'S POV“Why did you assign her to your room if you don't trust her?” Kaiden asked as soon as we left the training arena. “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer,” I replied with a bored tone. The phrase was something I had learnt due to interactions with humans for so long. “Did you forget what happened with Piper so soon?” Kaiden huffed, definitely not buying my reason. Piper was the daughter of my father's Beta and we had once been so close as friends until she tried to poison me following my parents death. Kaiden bringing up this particular matter made me clench my teeth in anger. Piper's betrayal still so fresh in my head.“Alpha,”“Alpha,”The guards outside the training room curtsied as I walked past them. “Can you even listen to yourself?” Kaiden boomed, his eyes darkening furiously. “We barely know her and you are going to trust her with your personal space.”“There's something about her…” I began but trailed off midway, unsure how to explain how diffe

AVA'S POV A knock broke up our little heart to heart discussion and goddess if I wasn't grateful for the interruption. There was no way I wanted to tell Sage what had happened but I couldn't lie either. Damn the Vampire Queen oath, I was bound not to tell lies. “You can go back to bed, you're pregnant, I'll check who's there,” I assured her, urging her to go back to bed. She obliged after a few seconds but I could see her hesitation. When I was sure I no longer appeared to have bawled my eyes to sleep, I pulled the door open and I was met with the face of one of the maids who was assigned to my room previously. ‘Thank goodness it wasn't the same maid,’ I muttered to myself. “You aren't dressed?” she asked, an alarmed look on her face as she forced her way in, looking me all over. “Dressed for what e

“What happened here?” I heard beta Kaiden ask but Alpha Axel kept mute and instead helped him up, leading him away without as much as a stare. Beta Kaiden's eyes met mine, confusion gracing his face, but I immediately turned my face away, staring at the earth beneath as they walked away. I stayed there for a while, watching them till they were out of sight and then the tears that had long threatened to fall, came running down along my cheeks. I whimpered softly so as not to alert anyone. My hands finding its way to my cheeks as I cleaned it slowly. “Ava?” I heard a soft voice behind me all of a sudden, making me jump in fright. It wasn't any I was familiar with. “Ma'am, it's just me,” the voice came again, granting me a good sight of the owner of the voice. That was a pretty familiar face. One of the maids who had helped arrange my room.

“Give me an answer to something I'm very inquisitive about, why do you, for some very crazy reason, always get involved with trouble?” Alpha Axel asked; staring down at me from where he stood. It felt kinda weird, awkward as well so I slowly stood up, confused on what to do.“I asked a question!” Alpha Axel suddenly raised his voice, causing me to jump in surprise at his tone.“I came out for a walk,” I began, meeting his icy gaze with a gaze of the same intensity. “Then he attacked me. How does that count as me having a tendency of always getting into trouble?”He stared at me for a long period of time or so I thought and I met his gaze for a long ti

AVA'S POV“Just how many broken people were in this pack? I should leave him alone with his problem, I mean, even I have mine to solve.” I muttered, just wanting to leave quickly and quietly without disturbing him. But his next words made me stop dead in my tracks.“Sage...” he called out again. Lifting his head, his eyes suddenly snapped in my direction. It was Kaiden. But there was something about him that was too scary. His beautiful brown eyes were gone, it was replaced with a blood red color, fully highlighted under the full moon.He dangerously stalked towards me and I'd be damned if I wasn't scared. I stepped back slowly, wanting to keep as much gap between us as possible.Suddenly, I couldn't see him again, the fear making me shiver furiously as I looked around, still retreating slowly until suddenly I hit a wall. A wall of flesh! I slowly turned, dreading what I would see. And that's when I saw him.Beta Kaiden's face was just inches from mine, his blood-red eyes blazing w

  • Vampire's Moon    CHAPTER 18

AVA'S POVThe pain, sorrow and regrets in her eyes were evident, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of empathy towards her. Despite the situation, I found myself wanting to comfort her, to tell her that everything would be okay. But deep down, I knew that the wounds ran too deep, and forgiveness would not come easily.I didn't know what to say or do, so I sat there, just staring and hoping that my presence was enough to speak volumes. “You're the first who hasn't ever run from me. Are you new to the pack?” Sage asked, after a while, when she was calmer. “Technically, I've been in the pack for the past forty days - in a coma.” I said rather playfully, but the look she gave me was one filled with pity. “How long have you been in this place, secluded from everyone else in the pack?” I asked, my curiosity piqued. “Almost three months now,” Sage said, a smile dazzling up her face. “I'm guessing no one dared to visit you here?” I asked again, even though I was sure of the answer. “E
