SEBASTIAN'S POV
I awoke to the smell of smoke curling up my nostrils.Am I on fire?I look around me to find the source of the smoke but there’s nothing, absolutely nothing. Everywhere is dark and empty. Hollow even.Where am I?I’m sure as hell this not the room I fell asleep. This is not even a room, it’s like a black hole.Did I die in my sleep and go to hell?Is this what hell looks like?I’ve always imagined hell to be hot and flaming not cold and dark. Maybe he’ll is close by and that would explain the smoke.“Hello! Is anyone here?” I beckoned and my voice echoed back into my ears. This place is really creepy.“Satan?” I yell thoughtlessly. If this is really hell, then I wish to speak with who’s in charge and I believe that would be Satan.“Anyone?” there was nothing. Not a single sound apart from the sound of my voice echoing back into my ears. This might not be a good time but I do have a nice voice. It’s indeed very charming.I sat down on what seemed like the floor but I wouldn’t know, everything is pitch black.I need to gather my thoughts. How did I get here? The last thing I remember was falling asleep.A wild thought came to my mind. Maybe this is where Sarah is. I know it sounds stupid that I would simply fall asleep and wake up in a black hole to find my missing sister but I can’t help but think of the possibility that she might be here. That everyone else is mistaken and she’s really here, not in the human world.I spring up on my feet and start to hassle around not knowing where exactly I’m going or if I’m getting anywhere at all. After scrambling around and not coming in contact with anything or anyone, I fell in frustration. I can’t smell any more smoke so maybe I’m getting somewhere. I get up on my feet and continue walking straight ahead until I see light glistening from afar.I feel victorious to have found light in total darkness so I race towards it, it’s more farther than it looks but I don’t stop until I’m in front of a metal door with no inscription or even a handle. What kind of door has no handles?I’m hesitant to push it open, I don’t know what to expect. What is waiting for me on the other side of this door that is without a handle?Maybe it is without a handle for a reason.I push it open anyway. Anything is better than this darkness. In the same intense way that the darkness was engulfing so is this light blinding. I think I even feel it piercing thorough my skin. There’s so much light that I can’t see anything. I’m having trouble keeping my eyes open and every time I manage to for a few seconds, I can’t make sense out of anything. The light is too bright.“We've been expecting you.” I hear a voice say and I go still. This is very unlike me, my first instinct is usually to attack not go still.“Who is we?” I manage to ask, still not able to get my eyes to stay open.“You don’t need to know that.” The voice answered and its confidence has my brows quirked.“Are you the one that brought me here? Where is here?” I ask desperate for an explanation of some sort. I need answers but he's giving me none. I almost assume he was no longer with me when I heard his voice again.“You came here of your own volition.” He answers and I’m even more confused than I was seconds ago.I don’t even know where I am, how could I have wanted to come here if I don’t even know where here is?“Make it make sense.” I almost tell the voice but I don’t because I think it might sound disrespectful plus I don’t even know who I’m talking to. What if it’s a god? Or even worse, a goddess. The last thing I want is to cross a supernatural being.“I don’t understand.” I say.“You are to become king are you not?” what does this have to do with anything?“yes, I am.” I answer politely. Is he the god that grants people their gifts? Is he even a god? Is he even a he? Why is the light so fucking bright? I open my eyes slowly, maybe if I take in the light little by little, I can keep my eyes open.“Your strong desire to become king is what has led you here. You have the blessings of all the gods and all the other kings before you.”Another voice says and I’m shaken. There’s more than one person here with me in this room and I hear correctly? gods? The next words that come out of my mouth are desperate, needy and demanding.“Help me find my sister!”I don’t know where the courage is from but I make good use of it.“I want you guys to find my sister and bring her back to me.” I plead. I want to see the look on their faces, to know if there’s any hope for me, to know if they’ll help me.Another voice groans and I become self-conscious. How many gods are really here? I don’t know much about the gods of the underworld except that they’re powerful and intolerant beings.“Your sister is safer out there than with you. “I don’t understand, how can my sister be safe at somewhere where she has no one and now where to go to than with me? I want to demand an explanation but I can’t because I’m back in my room, on my bed, in the same position that I fell asleep. What did they mean by that? SARAH'S POV.We’re back home and I except to see Derek standing in front of the door with my bags but I realise that I came to their bike empty-handed, leaving with nags would be robbery and Derek is not even home yet.I need to leave before he gets back. I go inside the room and stared down at the clothes I’m wearing. I don’t have anything to change into and I’d rather die than put on the dress I came in.I go outside to ask Devin if I can keep his clothes and I find him talking to a girl.I didn’t hear her come in, I wouldn’t have come out if I did. She’s staring at me intensely.“Grace meet Sarah.” Devin said but she doesn’t look like she’s happy to meet me, neither am I but I’m not very obvious out about and I wish she’d do the same and not make me look like a villain.“Sarah meet Grace.” A little more information might help me choose my next reaction better but Devin's mouth is slammed shut.“Nice to meet you, Grace.” I say and extend my hand, she takes it reluctantly and her eyes travel down my body accessing my clothes that are also Devin's clothes.“Nice to meet you too, Sarah.” She says slowly and lets go of my hands. I should just ask Devin what I came to ask him and leave but he’s not sparing me a glance, in fact, he’s barely even looking up. It’s like he’s trying to hide his face.“I come here quite often but I don’t think I’ve ever seen you. Do you live around?” she asks and I’m about to tell her that I don’t when Devin answers for me.“Actually she lives here now, she just moved in.” he says maliciously and put his hands around my shoulder. What is going on here? Is she the girl he was talking about earlier?“Yeah.” I say nervously and nod, playing along to whatever he’s doing right now.“She does?” Grace says and I sense a hint of mockery in her voice. She’s gutsy.“I do. You don’t have a problem with it, do you?” I say shocking myself. She looks offended but I don’t give a shit.“I don’t but I think Derek will.” This bitch. I don’t know what to say so Devin comes to my rescue.“Derek doesn’t have a problem with it. Turns out he can live with women just not ones like you.” I don’t know the story behind his reply but I love the way it makes her face twist into a frown ruining the pretty features of her face. She’s undoubtedly good looking but her character is quite vile. If she was in my world, it won’t be hard to guess what she is. Only witches behave like she is now. Evil witches.“Well good luck living with someone who wears her clothes inside out.” She spat bitterly and I’m tempted to look down but I don’t. I’m not giving her the satisfaction and neither is Devin.“She can wear my clothes however she pleases.” He says and she storms out of the room and slams the door. What the hell.SARAH I wasn't sure how to react about whatever the hell just happened but I sure as hell knew that I wasn't about to talk about it either. Denver was staring at me awkwardly and itching the back of his head. He also looked like he was struggling not to cry and I was genuinely short of words. to say.
