Chapter 7 Moving In

After the papers were signed, I said, "Remember to go through with the process in a month."

He gazed at me. "What's the passcode for the lock? We've signed the papers, but the process hasn't even started. Legally speaking, we're still married."

I smiled. "I don't think there's a need for that. You see, I'm selling this place."

"What?"

"Hey, the house is mine. Should I care about your opinion when I'm selling my assets?" I tapped on the divorce papers.

Samuel realized I was not holding back this time. "You're cruel, Noelle. You wouldn't even keep a single memento?"

"I don't do keepsakes or exit strategies. It was the same when I decided to marry you. It's still the same now."

He was defeated, and he left. Before he did, I called out to him, "Samuel!"

Samuel turned around, smiling. I raised my chin. "Take the ring with you."

His face fell. Then, he scooped the ring and stormed off. I shrugged. His temper was still so awfully short. I called Ronald. "You free? He signed the paper
