CHEM Lab started after the fateful event in the cafeteria. Apparently, everyone in their class saw what happened, which made Kace feel more horrible. She was greatly affected about what happened. Her friends tried to cheer her up, but they didn’t succeed.
Chester glanced at Brandon, who looked at Nix who just shrugged her shoulders.
“What do we do?” Brandon mouthed his words in silence.
Chester lifted his chin and gestured Nix to move towards their friend. “Talk to her,” he whispered.
Nix hesitated at first. But she decided to follow him so she stood up and slowly walked over towards Kace’s table. Their professor was busy reading something on his desk so he didn’t notice her standing up from her seat.
Kace was busy focusing her microscope so she got startled when she heard her bestfriend beside her speak. “Kace, are you all right?”
She nodded without looking at her.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah,” she answered quietly.
“Don’t think about it too much. Jules is a bitc-“ Before she could even continue, Kace covered her mouth.
Nix knew very well that she didn’t want to hear any cursing words or “inappropriate terms.”
“It was my fault anyway,” Kace muttered.
“No it wasn’t. You already said sorry but she’s still being rude,” Nix said in a rather high tone.
“QUIET! I don’t want to hear any noise.” The professor yelled and gazed at Nix. “You! Go back to your seat.”
“Sorry sir.” Nix bowed at him then went back to her seat.
“Mr. Hansen, are you done?” The Professor asked the new student who seemed not to be busy with their activity.
“Sir… I can’t focus on the specimen,” Luke answered boldly.
The professor glanced at Kace who was answering their activity sheet. “Ms. Larson, help Mr. Hansen in the activity.” He called her knowing that she was one of the best students in Chemistry.
Kace groaned inwardly as she glanced at the new student on the table behind her. “Uh, yes sir.”
Standing up, she proceeded towards his table. She silently took the seat next to him and moved the microscope near her.
Luke just watched as she turned the knobs gently with her hand. He didn’t expect that this girl was actually good in this subject.
After a minute, Kace looked up at him. “Here. You can now see your specimen.” She gestured him to look at the microscope.
Luke slowly peeked into the eyepiece. Seeing how clear the specimen now compared earlier amazed him. He wrote on his sheet then turned to her with a blank face.
Kace waited for him to speak, thinking that he’d be thanking her any minute now. But, the guy didn’t say a thing. He just ignored her, as if she wasn’t there.
Luke continued to focus his attention to writing on his worksheet. Remembering the incident at the cafeteria earlier, he thought that Kace probably still felt upset and embarrassed. The scene that happened was unpleasant and people like Jules pissed him off. Somehow, he felt pity for the girl beside him. Kace was still in deep thought. No! Actually, she was still in a state of coma. She was used to people ignoring her and walking past her. But she never liked being embarrassed infront of everyone. She didn’t want attention so she’d rather be on the Loser’s Society than on the Popular’s side.
Heaving a sigh, she stood up from her seat and prepared to go back to her table when a hand stopped her in her tracks. When she turned to her side, Luke handed her a bottle of soda. “Uh…” her voice trailed off, looking at him.
The guy didn’t say anything. He just continued to answer again on his sheet.
“Thanks, I guess.” Kace finally walked away with the bottle of soda, still dazed at the new guy’s sudden gesture.
What an odd guy…

KACE reached her apartment at around seven in the evening. She stopped by the bookstore earlier to buy some supplements she needed and she roamed around the streets just to get her mind off of the embarrassment she was still feeling. Setting her bag on the couch, her stomach suddenly grumbled. She remembered she still hadn’t eaten dinner yet so she proceeded to the kitchen. As she turned the lights on, a cold face of a guy welcomed her on the counter. “Where have you been, Kassandra? It’s late.” Her brother told her off.Sighing, she flicked the lights on and rummaged on the fridge. “How did you stand sitting here with the lights off?”“That’s not important. So? Where did you go?” Kris asked, still waiting for her answer.“I just went in the bookstore dad,” she emphasized that last part. She always liked to call him that, especially when he was acting like this.Kris chuckled. “Fine. Here. I heard your stomach when you entered.” He pushed the box of pizza on the table. She quickly sn
ANOTHER day meant a chance to redeem herself from the embarrassment that happened to her yesterday. Running towards the main entrance, the guard suddenly stopped Kace, confusing her.“Your identification card miss?” The guard asked her. “Oh, right!” She dug inside her bag and searched for her ID. Why did I forget to wear it today? I’ll be late again in class for sure. She managed to wake up early and avoid his brother’s attempt to make breakfast again and yet, this came up. “Miss, where is it?” the guard demanded her. Kace was positive that her ID was inside her bag but then, she couldn’t find it this time. Damn it!She was starting to get anxious, not because of the guard but because of the time. Come on just show yourself to me now. “If you don’t have it, then you can’t enter miss. You know the rules.” The guard reminded her, annoying her even more.“Uhm… it’s just here somewhere… please just let me in. I’ll be late for class now, sir.” She tried to beg but he ignored her instea
KACE walked her way to their office walking past the field. While walking, she suddenly saw Luke watching intently on the side as the soccer players warmed up. She sighed deeply before taking the courage to go up to him. “Luke.”The guy got startled when he heard his name being called. He turned beside him and saw Kace approaching. He was about to leave but then, she stopped him. “Wait!” He didn’t move and waited for her to speak. “Uh… w-were you just watching the players?”“Why are you asking?” He asked in monotone.“I just thought… maybe you wanted to join their team?”“No.” Luke turned his back at her and was determined to march his way out. But then, she spoke again. “If you want to join… I can help you.”But he didn’t respond and just walked away from her. Kace was pissed because of this. How rude! She still owed him for giving back her ID card so she just let that pass this time. Out of nowhere, the soccer ball came flying towards her way, bouncing on top of her head. Kace
“WHAT did I just get myself into?” Kace mumbled to herself as she walked along the hallways of their building. “How am I supposed to convince a student to join the pub? Ugh!” She shook her head.Suddenly, someone blocked her way. When she looked up, she saw Kris infront of her. “K-Kris?”Her brother smirked. “Why are you reacting like you’ve seen a ghost?”“Oh… uh… nothing. It’s just that students may see you talking to me,” she answered, almost whispering.“Don’t worry about it. They won’t notice. Why are you bowing your head while walking? What if you bump into a wall?”“I don’t care about the wall right now. I just don’t know where to find someone to join us.” She sighed.“I’m sure you’ll find a way. You’re Kace the Great, right?” He tapped her shoulder. She nodded at her brother. “You should get going now. Someone may see us.” She reminded him.Kris nodded. “Goodluck!” He turned his back and started to march his way out of the building. She continued to walk forward still thinki
KACE walked her way towards her apartment after hours of making the flyers. She decided to stop by at a convenience store nearby. She sat by the window and ate her noodles quietly while still in deep thought. Where in the world can I find students to complete the editorial board? She banged her head on the table trying to rack her brain for some answers.Meanwhile, Luke had been following Kace on her way home after Nix gave him her address. He thought it was not right to follow someone but he needed to talk to her about Chemistry. When she entered the convenience store, he secretly hid on one of the aisles inside and watched her eat. He thought that would be the right time to go up to her but he just couldn’t find the courage to move.Suddenly, his phone rang. “Lance?” He answered. “Luke, where are you?” His brother asked. He scanned the store. “Uh… just somewhere near our house.”“Really? Are you sure?”Luke noticed Kace standing up already so he quickly said, “Ah… just wait inside
IT was the longest walk she ever had. Normally, she’d reached her apartment for around fifteen minutes but now it took her thirty minutes to get into their street. From a distance, she noticed a car parked infront of their building which she recognized to be her brother’s car so she paused and stopped Luke from walking. The guy turned to her in question. “Are we there yet?”“Uh… I’ll just walk home from here. Thank you again. Take care on your way home.” She flashed him one last smile.Luke felt something suspicious but he ignored it after seeing her smile. Instead, he nodded and turned his back to walk towards the opposite direction. When Luke disappeared from her sight, she quickly ran towards her apartment. She was about to enter when suddenly, there was a beeping sound coming from behind her. Turning around, she saw another car flashing its lights blinding her. The car stopped infront of her and revealed Chandler who was now walking towards her direction. She wasn’t surprised to
KACE wasn’t able to move when someone grabbed her by the arm. She clearly heard the words, “She already has a lab partner.” She didn’t expect that Luke would suddenly show up from behind them.Stephen was also surprised after seeing Luke come up to them. He was wondering why he suddenly appeared and uttered those words. He really couldn’t believe that someone other than him and Kace’s friends would actually ask her to be her lab partner. “Kace, is it true? Is he your lab partner?”She couldn’t look at Stephen’s eyes because she felt guilty. They’d always been partners in their projects ever since. Even Nix was getting jealous before, but now, she was already used to it.When Luke noticed that Kace was having a hard time answering, he decided to speak for her. “Yes. I already asked her to be my lab partner.”“And… you agreed?” Stephen was still looking at Kace. She nodded. “But Stephen… don’t think that I don’t want to be lab partners with you anymore.”Stephen bit his lip and nodded.
AFTER their class, Kace and her staff proceeded to the office again to think of an alternative plan. They were all feeling hopeless already. But Brandon was doing everything just to lighten up their spirits. “Come on guys! Cheer up!” He clapped his hands. “We still have time to save the pub.”They all turned to him with a glare. “Tomorrow’s going to be Friday which means if we don’t find students to join us, we’re dead!” Chester hollered at him.“Hey! Why are you all sulking up? We’re still on Plan A. We still have Plan B, C, D….” Brandon continued to mention the letters until Kace stood up.“Brandon’s right. We can still do something. We’re not trying too hard guys. We need to plan a better strategy.” Kace said to them.“Yeah! Now that’s what I’m talking about. High-five, Chief!” Brandon raised his hand up but Kace shook her head. “Oh okay. Got it.”“Then what do we do?” Kenneth asked.“I think we should start by cleaning up here. We should let them see how cool is the place they’re
LUKE couldn’t keep still from his seat as soon as they reached the airport. He didn’t know why he suddenly felt anxious without even doing anything. Something just kept on bothering his system which he couldn’t point out.Today is the day that he and his brother would leave Florida for good. He was left with no choice but to follow his dad’s order after finding out that he got hospitalized because of a soccer game. But he didn’t care about that at all. All that mattered was the last time he saw Kace at the field… and him… without even saying goodbye.“Luke, what are you thinking?” He heard Lance ask beside him.He just shrugged and immersed himself with the music that was playing on his phone. He closed his eyes for a minute and suddenly, the image of Kace flashed before him.“Are you really taking LuKa back to London?” Lance asked again while touching the pet inside the cage.He suddenly paused when he remembered LuKa. He was supposed to give it back to Kace before he leaves. But he
CHANDLER buried his face on the pillow, as he watched Kace lying in bed… still unconscious. He couldn’t help but feel guilty for placing the life of the girl he loves in danger. It has been only a few hours since the accident happened. The scene of her getting hit by the moving car kept on playing over and over in his mind that he wanted to replay it and undo it… if only I could. His hand moved towards her face which was almost unrecognizable at first glance due to the bruises and wounds she sustained. His only wish at that time was for her to wake up and see her smile again. That way, he’d feel lighter and brighter again…Minutes later, there was a knock on the door. He stood up from his seat and opened it, revealing their friends who came rushing in as soon as they saw Kace.Nix was the first one who came running towards her with her eyes glistening with tears. “Kace! You have to wake up! You still need to win, right?” She continued to shake Kace’s body.Chandler watched as the othe
A week passed and she has never heard of Luke since that day. She guessed he was already back in London right at that moment. Even Sophie wasn’t attending school. Maybe they both went back to their country and lived their lives as they were before. How she wished she never met them…On the other hand, she just heard the news that Jessie already flew out of the country to study there. Everything was still a mystery to her as to why she just transferred. She was still deep in thought when suddenly, someone called her attention from behind, “Hey, a penny for your thought?” This caused her to turn around and yank her arm at the guy who tapped her shoulders. “Parker, what are you doing here?” She questioned, as soon as she saw his face.“I’ll go with you. I’m actually a member of the pub. Have you forgotten that?” He smirked at her.“But… you have soccer…” She asked in confusion. He shook his head. “Nope. The games were re-scheduled. Even the other guys are coming.”“R-really? Then, where
KACE stepped out of Chandler’s car, as soon as they reached their house. She still couldn’t get rid of Luke’s face in her mind, seeing how weak he looked earlier in the field. She actually watched the two play soccer that whole time. And she also knew that Chandler was the one who started hitting him. But, she was able to control herself from pitying the guy who lied to her.Chandler walked her to their doorway and before she could step in, she heard the guy speak. “Kace, I’m sorry.”She turned around to face him. “What are you saying sorry for?”“I wasn’t supposed to hit Luke, but… I wasn’t able to control myself.” He confessed. She nodded. “I know, Parker. You don’t have to say sorry.”“You’re not mad?” He asked in confusion. She shook her head. “We all lose it sometimes and I understand.”He took a step forward and pulled her in for a hug. “Thank you Kace.”She wasn’t able to respond at that instant because she was too stunned at his sudden gesture. “Chandler…”“Just let me do this
AS soon as he saw Jessica walking back home, he didn’t waste any time and immediately followed her. He just really had to know the answers to his questions so he could be at peace. He has been observing her every move ever since that day he saw her with that notebook full of missions which were all targeted to Kace.He ran towards her before the four-eyed girl could even step inside her apartment. “Jessica!” He grabbed her arm with force causing her to wince in pain.“L-Luke, w-what are you doing here?” She stuttered, still grimacing in pain.“I want an honest answer from you, Jessica. WHY… ARE YOU TRYING TO SET KACE UP?” His hand was still clenched into a fist while the other was gripping her arm.Jessica paused, meeting his eyes. “Do you really want to know?” She asked in sarcasm. “I just hate her, as simple as that.”“WHAT???” He exclaimed after hearing her ridiculous answer. “I don’t believe you, Jessica.”“She took away everything that’s supposed to be mine. How could I not hate
“THAT person… is the one whom Stephen had seen placing that note inside your office and that same person is the one who has been on your side during those times you’ve been set up…”She could still hear Nix’s words ringing in her mind. That person… is Luke. She just couldn’t connect the pieces of this bewildering puzzle all together. She had a strange feeling even before she first met him, but never had she imagined that he could do those things to set her up.He has been nothing but nice to her ever since they became close. There was no single clue as to why he’d pretend to be friends with her. She felt his sincerity but all of that was just a sham. She wanted to curse herself for believing in him… and for almost falling for him. Fortunately, she got saved. She suddenly remembered the dream she had. Could the guy be possibly him? She sighed to herself. She didn’t want to enter their room because she didn’t know how to face him… She walked her way towards her locker with a bleak look
IT was already 8 pm when Kace and Kris arrived at the club where Alex’s party was held. There were a lot of people inside. Most of them were strangers to her. She gripped her brother’s arm tighter. She felt more secured that way. Kris leaned towards her and whispered, “Just relax, alright?” She nodded at her brother, as she made their way towards Alex who was busy conversing with their other friends near the side of the stage. “Happy birthday, Alex!” Kris greeted him with a punch on his chest.Alex pretended to wince in pain. Then, he noticed Kris’s company. “Oh, Kace, I’m glad you’re here.”“Happy birthday, Alex,” she greeted.“Thank you for coming. Let’s go sit there at our table.” He led the way towards their table where JM and Theo were seated.“Is Stephen still not here?” Alex asked the two.JM just shrugged. “He said he’ll come in late.”“How about Chand?” Kris asked as soon as they were seated. Before one of them could even answer, someone spoke in the microphone catching ever
IT was raining hard that night. Her clothes were soaked. Her long hair was tangled. Her breathing was rapid and shallow. Her heartbeat was racing like a mad cow. She has never ran this much before. She looked around her and realized that she eventually reached the park near their school. She wanted to stop and rest for a while but she feared that he might catch her.Just then, a voice from behind called out to her. "Kace, stop!"She didn't look behind. Instead, she continued to run, though her legs were about to bend and break."Kace, please listen to me!" he continued to shout. His voice was near. She tried to double up her speed. But, she couldn't do it anymore. She fell down on her knees. And cursed herself for being weak.Suddenly, she felt a hand on her back. "Kace, you don't have to run away," he said to her.She slowly looked up and saw the face of the guy who betrayed her - the same guy whom she learned to love. "Why are you here?" she managed to speak despite the weakness th
IT has been two days since Chandler confessed everything to Kace and yet, she felt like it just happened moments ago. She tried to avoid him at school by all means. But that day, she wasn’t able to escape Stephen’s request of eating lunch with them. She purposely sat next to her brother so she could just grip his hand in case, she’d pass out or act weird infront of Chandler and their friends. There was only her, Kris, Stephen and Chandler on their table, and the atmosphere was not really that good. Not until their other friends showed up infront of them and took their respective seats. “What’s with the eerie silence?” Theo snickered, turning to Stephen.“Oh, you’re both here,” Kris greeted him and Alex. The tanned guy smirked at him. “Is something going on here before we came?” He suddenly asked, noticing the awkward glances and silence.Stephen shook his head. “Nothing much. Except the fact that you both came in and ruined the peaceful ambience.”“Since when did you like being quiet,
