CHEM Lab started after the fateful event in the cafeteria. Apparently, everyone in their class saw what happened, which made Kace feel more horrible. She was greatly affected about what happened. Her friends tried to cheer her up, but they didn’t succeed.
Chester glanced at Brandon, who looked at Nix who just shrugged her shoulders.
“What do we do?” Brandon mouthed his words in silence.
Chester lifted his chin and gestured Nix to move towards their friend. “Talk to her,” he whispered.
Nix hesitated at first. But she decided to follow him so she stood up and slowly walked over towards Kace’s table. Their professor was busy reading something on his desk so he didn’t notice her standing up from her seat.
Kace was busy focusing her microscope so she got startled when she heard her bestfriend beside her speak. “Kace, are you all right?”
She nodded without looking at her.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah,” she answered quietly.
“Don’t think about it too much. Jules is a bitc-“ Before she could even continue, Kace covered her mouth.
Nix knew very well that she didn’t want to hear any cursing words or “inappropriate terms.”
“It was my fault anyway,” Kace muttered.
“No it wasn’t. You already said sorry but she’s still being rude,” Nix said in a rather high tone.
“QUIET! I don’t want to hear any noise.” The professor yelled and gazed at Nix. “You! Go back to your seat.”
“Sorry sir.” Nix bowed at him then went back to her seat.
“Mr. Hansen, are you done?” The Professor asked the new student who seemed not to be busy with their activity.
“Sir… I can’t focus on the specimen,” Luke answered boldly.
The professor glanced at Kace who was answering their activity sheet. “Ms. Larson, help Mr. Hansen in the activity.” He called her knowing that she was one of the best students in Chemistry.
Kace groaned inwardly as she glanced at the new student on the table behind her. “Uh, yes sir.”
Standing up, she proceeded towards his table. She silently took the seat next to him and moved the microscope near her.
Luke just watched as she turned the knobs gently with her hand. He didn’t expect that this girl was actually good in this subject.
After a minute, Kace looked up at him. “Here. You can now see your specimen.” She gestured him to look at the microscope.
Luke slowly peeked into the eyepiece. Seeing how clear the specimen now compared earlier amazed him. He wrote on his sheet then turned to her with a blank face.
Kace waited for him to speak, thinking that he’d be thanking her any minute now. But, the guy didn’t say a thing. He just ignored her, as if she wasn’t there.
Luke continued to focus his attention to writing on his worksheet. Remembering the incident at the cafeteria earlier, he thought that Kace probably still felt upset and embarrassed. The scene that happened was unpleasant and people like Jules pissed him off. Somehow, he felt pity for the girl beside him. Kace was still in deep thought. No! Actually, she was still in a state of coma. She was used to people ignoring her and walking past her. But she never liked being embarrassed infront of everyone. She didn’t want attention so she’d rather be on the Loser’s Society than on the Popular’s side.
Heaving a sigh, she stood up from her seat and prepared to go back to her table when a hand stopped her in her tracks. When she turned to her side, Luke handed her a bottle of soda. “Uh…” her voice trailed off, looking at him.
The guy didn’t say anything. He just continued to answer again on his sheet.
“Thanks, I guess.” Kace finally walked away with the bottle of soda, still dazed at the new guy’s sudden gesture.
What an odd guy…

KACE reached her apartment at around seven in the evening. She stopped by the bookstore earlier to buy some supplements she needed and she roamed around the streets just to get her mind off of the embarrassment she was still feeling. Setting her bag on the couch, her stomach suddenly grumbled. She remembered she still hadn’t eaten dinner yet so she proceeded to the kitchen. As she turned the lights on, a cold face of a guy welcomed her on the counter. “Where have you been, Kassandra? It’s late.” Her brother told her off.Sighing, she flicked the lights on and rummaged on the fridge. “How did you stand sitting here with the lights off?”“That’s not important. So? Where did you go?” Kris asked, still waiting for her answer.“I just went in the bookstore dad,” she emphasized that last part. She always liked to call him that, especially when he was acting like this.Kris chuckled. “Fine. Here. I heard your stomach when you entered.” He pushed the box of pizza on the table. She quickly sn
ANOTHER day meant a chance to redeem herself from the embarrassment that happened to her yesterday. Running towards the main entrance, the guard suddenly stopped Kace, confusing her.“Your identification card miss?” The guard asked her. “Oh, right!” She dug inside her bag and searched for her ID. Why did I forget to wear it today? I’ll be late again in class for sure. She managed to wake up early and avoid his brother’s attempt to make breakfast again and yet, this came up. “Miss, where is it?” the guard demanded her. Kace was positive that her ID was inside her bag but then, she couldn’t find it this time. Damn it!She was starting to get anxious, not because of the guard but because of the time. Come on just show yourself to me now. “If you don’t have it, then you can’t enter miss. You know the rules.” The guard reminded her, annoying her even more.“Uhm… it’s just here somewhere… please just let me in. I’ll be late for class now, sir.” She tried to beg but he ignored her instea
KACE walked her way to their office walking past the field. While walking, she suddenly saw Luke watching intently on the side as the soccer players warmed up. She sighed deeply before taking the courage to go up to him. “Luke.”The guy got startled when he heard his name being called. He turned beside him and saw Kace approaching. He was about to leave but then, she stopped him. “Wait!” He didn’t move and waited for her to speak. “Uh… w-were you just watching the players?”“Why are you asking?” He asked in monotone.“I just thought… maybe you wanted to join their team?”“No.” Luke turned his back at her and was determined to march his way out. But then, she spoke again. “If you want to join… I can help you.”But he didn’t respond and just walked away from her. Kace was pissed because of this. How rude! She still owed him for giving back her ID card so she just let that pass this time. Out of nowhere, the soccer ball came flying towards her way, bouncing on top of her head. Kace
“WHAT did I just get myself into?” Kace mumbled to herself as she walked along the hallways of their building. “How am I supposed to convince a student to join the pub? Ugh!” She shook her head.Suddenly, someone blocked her way. When she looked up, she saw Kris infront of her. “K-Kris?”Her brother smirked. “Why are you reacting like you’ve seen a ghost?”“Oh… uh… nothing. It’s just that students may see you talking to me,” she answered, almost whispering.“Don’t worry about it. They won’t notice. Why are you bowing your head while walking? What if you bump into a wall?”“I don’t care about the wall right now. I just don’t know where to find someone to join us.” She sighed.“I’m sure you’ll find a way. You’re Kace the Great, right?” He tapped her shoulder. She nodded at her brother. “You should get going now. Someone may see us.” She reminded him.Kris nodded. “Goodluck!” He turned his back and started to march his way out of the building. She continued to walk forward still thinki
KACE walked her way towards her apartment after hours of making the flyers. She decided to stop by at a convenience store nearby. She sat by the window and ate her noodles quietly while still in deep thought. Where in the world can I find students to complete the editorial board? She banged her head on the table trying to rack her brain for some answers.Meanwhile, Luke had been following Kace on her way home after Nix gave him her address. He thought it was not right to follow someone but he needed to talk to her about Chemistry. When she entered the convenience store, he secretly hid on one of the aisles inside and watched her eat. He thought that would be the right time to go up to her but he just couldn’t find the courage to move.Suddenly, his phone rang. “Lance?” He answered. “Luke, where are you?” His brother asked. He scanned the store. “Uh… just somewhere near our house.”“Really? Are you sure?”Luke noticed Kace standing up already so he quickly said, “Ah… just wait inside
IT was the longest walk she ever had. Normally, she’d reached her apartment for around fifteen minutes but now it took her thirty minutes to get into their street. From a distance, she noticed a car parked infront of their building which she recognized to be her brother’s car so she paused and stopped Luke from walking. The guy turned to her in question. “Are we there yet?”“Uh… I’ll just walk home from here. Thank you again. Take care on your way home.” She flashed him one last smile.Luke felt something suspicious but he ignored it after seeing her smile. Instead, he nodded and turned his back to walk towards the opposite direction. When Luke disappeared from her sight, she quickly ran towards her apartment. She was about to enter when suddenly, there was a beeping sound coming from behind her. Turning around, she saw another car flashing its lights blinding her. The car stopped infront of her and revealed Chandler who was now walking towards her direction. She wasn’t surprised to
ONE thing that Kassandra "Kace" Larson learned in life was to never trust her brother in cooking. Seeing the six-foot tall guy attempt to flip the egg on the pan infront of her triggered something inside her, but she just let him do his thing as she fixed her long dark hair up in a bun.“We should’ve just ordered something outside, brother,” she commented, not even disguising her lack of excitement for the breakfast.“Don’t even try to comment Kace ‘cause you’re far worse than I am.” Her older brother, Kristoff would always insist to cook, and yet he never made a decent meal ever.Kace nodded in agreement. “Yeah, well you’re not wrong about that. Let’s just grab something to eat while on the way to school, then.”Kris heaved a sigh. “Fine.” Even though Kris wasn’t her full-blooded brother, she appreciated the fact that he would always visit her, despite knowing how much hatred their stepdad had for her. She didn’t want Kris to be stuck in the middle between her and his dad. But, her
