KACE walked her way to their office walking past the field. While walking, she suddenly saw Luke watching intently on the side as the soccer players warmed up. She sighed deeply before taking the courage to go up to him. “Luke.”

The guy got startled when he heard his name being called. He turned beside him and saw Kace approaching. He was about to leave but then, she stopped him.

“Wait!”

He didn’t move and waited for her to speak.

“Uh… w-were you just watching the players?”

“Why are you asking?” He asked in monotone.

“I just thought… maybe you wanted to join their team?”

“No.” Luke turned his back at her and was determined to march his way out.

But then, she spoke again. “If you want to join… I can help you.”

But he didn’t respond and just walked away from her. Kace was pissed because of this. How rude! She still owed him for giving back her ID card so she just let that pass this time.

Out of nowhere, the soccer ball came flying towards her way, bouncing on top of her head. Kace fell on her butt. She touched her head and tried to stand up but she felt dizzy by its impact.

The group of cheerleaders practicing on the field were now looking at her and laughing at her misery. She tried to ignore them and continued to stand up instead.

She was about to pick up the ball that hit her but then, someone from behind her kicked it back into the field. She was stunned, seeing how the ball accurately landed towards the players.

Luke turned to Kace who was still standing behind him. Then, he decided to move towards her. “Next time, you should watch out for the flying ball.” He left those words before walking away from her.

"W-wait!" She tried to call out but he already disappeared. "I... haven't thank him yet,” she mumbled to herself.

DURING the afternoon, the meeting of all the clubs was held inside the student council office. Kace wasn’t planning to attend the meeting at all. She knew that her presence wouldn’t even be important and they wouldn’t listen even if she’d suggest something so it was better to just stay out of it.

She was busy writing something when suddenly her phone rang. She picked it up and realized it was Stephen. “Stephen? Why’d you call?”

“Kace, aren’t you gonna attend the meeting?” he asked.

“No,” she answered bluntly.

“But Kace…”

“Stephen, you know I don’t like attending meetings like that.”

“Yeah but… my brother said you need to be there.” Stephen convinced her again using his brother.

“I don’t know Stephen…” Her voice trailed off.

“If you won’t go, then I won’t go.”

“But Stephen…” She felt bothered. Stephen was the captain of the baseball team so he also needed to be there.

“I don’t even understand why we have to be there. Baseball isn’t even a club. It’s a sport,” he complained.

“Y-yeah…” was all she could answer. She knew that he’s just using it as an alibi for himself.

“So, you’re really not going?” Stephen asked again.

“No.”

“Even if I drag you out of your office?”

“W-what?” She got alarmed. When she scanned the room, no one else was there. She stood up and opened the door.

Stephen was standing there with a thin smile on his face. “Hi Kace!” he said with a wave.

“Stephen, why are you suddenly appearing like this? You know that I get scared easily.”

The guy chuckled. “That’s why I need to do this. To convince you to come.” He grabbed her arm and pulled her out.

“Stephen…” She tried to release herself from him but she couldn’t,  so she just gave up.

THEY were now walking at the hallway with Stephen still holding her wrist. They walked past the doors of the seniors’ class until they reached the SC office. When they entered, everyone looked at their direction.

“OMG! Look who’s here.” A girl’s voice echoed inside the room.

Kace looked at the direction of the voice and saw Jules raising a brow at her. She totally forgot that she’d be there as the captain of the cheerleading squad. She bowed her head because Kris was also there and he was already giving her a weird look.

She shouldn’t let him know anything. She just followed Stephen and sat across Jules and Chandler who were sitting next to each other.

“All right, I see that everyone’s already here.” The SC president started to speak. “First of all, good afternoon! Thank you for coming to this meeting. Our agenda for today is the Acquaintance Party that we’re gonna be having next week. So as you noticed, I’ve called everyone because I want each one of you to have their own committee. Last year, we didn’t do this so we had a hard time. But this time, I’m asking everyone to cooperate.”

Jules raised her hand up. “Wait. Mr. President, may I be allowed to ask, is the publication still an existing organization here?” She eyed Kace who was looking at her with a raging look.

“What do you mean Jules? Of course they’re a part of the school,” JM answered.

“Oh is that so? Cause I don’t think there’s even a need to have a publication anymore. Besides, they don’t even have enough members. How can they function as a unit? Right guys?” Jules asked for the others’ confirmation. They nodded at her.

Kris cleared his throat catching everyone’s attention. “But I don’t think that’s valid enough to get rid of the publication. Don’t you think, Mr. President?”

JM nodded. “Do you have anything to say Kassandra, as the Editor?”

She was clenching her fists the whole time Jules was speaking. She was trying to control herself.

Stephen noticed this so he gripped her hands to calm her. “I agree with Kris. We shouldn’t get rid of the pub,” he answered.

“Okay, how about this? Who among you are in favour of letting it stay?” JM asked the body.

Kace closed her eyes not wanting to look. Why are they suddenly voting for this? This isn’t right.

Stephen whispered beside her. "Kace, don't lose hope. Look."

She looked up and saw some raising their hands. Kris was the first one who raised his hand. She smiled at her brother. She was familiar with the others especially those from the Honors' Society and the Chemistry Club. But most of them, who belong to the Popular’s like Theodore (from Martial Arts Club) and Alex (from the Dance Club) were not raising at all.

Even Chandler was not on her side. Of course, she expected it. He would be siding his girlfriend. “So, what do we do? It’s half versus half.”

Jules stood up again. “I’ve got an idea. How about a proposition? If you can complete the line-up of the editorial board… then we can consider keeping your org.” She ended up with a smirk.

JM thought about it for a while. Then, he looked at Kace who was looking far away.

Kace bit the insides of her cheek before answering, “All right. I accept it.”

The SC president turned to her. “Really? You think you can convince anyone to join the pub?”

“We can. We will. Just don’t remove the pub,” Kace said, though at the back of her mind, she was feeling a lot of pressure already.

How can she convince anyone to join them when in fact, nobody wants to be a part of The Loser’s Society?

“WHAT did I just get myself into?” Kace mumbled to herself as she walked along the hallways of their building. “How am I supposed to convince a student to join the pub? Ugh!” She shook her head.Suddenly, someone blocked her way. When she looked up, she saw Kris infront of her. “K-Kris?”Her brother smirked. “Why are you reacting like you’ve seen a ghost?”“Oh… uh… nothing. It’s just that students may see you talking to me,” she answered, almost whispering.“Don’t worry about it. They won’t notice. Why are you bowing your head while walking? What if you bump into a wall?”“I don’t care about the wall right now. I just don’t know where to find someone to join us.” She sighed.“I’m sure you’ll find a way. You’re Kace the Great, right?” He tapped her shoulder. She nodded at her brother. “You should get going now. Someone may see us.” She reminded him.Kris nodded. “Goodluck!” He turned his back and started to march his way out of the building. She continued to walk forward still thinki

KACE walked her way towards her apartment after hours of making the flyers. She decided to stop by at a convenience store nearby. She sat by the window and ate her noodles quietly while still in deep thought. Where in the world can I find students to complete the editorial board? She banged her head on the table trying to rack her brain for some answers.Meanwhile, Luke had been following Kace on her way home after Nix gave him her address. He thought it was not right to follow someone but he needed to talk to her about Chemistry. When she entered the convenience store, he secretly hid on one of the aisles inside and watched her eat. He thought that would be the right time to go up to her but he just couldn’t find the courage to move.Suddenly, his phone rang. “Lance?” He answered. “Luke, where are you?” His brother asked. He scanned the store. “Uh… just somewhere near our house.”“Really? Are you sure?”Luke noticed Kace standing up already so he quickly said, “Ah… just wait inside

IT was the longest walk she ever had. Normally, she’d reached her apartment for around fifteen minutes but now it took her thirty minutes to get into their street. From a distance, she noticed a car parked infront of their building which she recognized to be her brother’s car so she paused and stopped Luke from walking. The guy turned to her in question. “Are we there yet?”“Uh… I’ll just walk home from here. Thank you again. Take care on your way home.” She flashed him one last smile.Luke felt something suspicious but he ignored it after seeing her smile. Instead, he nodded and turned his back to walk towards the opposite direction. When Luke disappeared from her sight, she quickly ran towards her apartment. She was about to enter when suddenly, there was a beeping sound coming from behind her. Turning around, she saw another car flashing its lights blinding her. The car stopped infront of her and revealed Chandler who was now walking towards her direction. She wasn’t surprised to

KACE wasn’t able to move when someone grabbed her by the arm. She clearly heard the words, “She already has a lab partner.” She didn’t expect that Luke would suddenly show up from behind them.Stephen was also surprised after seeing Luke come up to them. He was wondering why he suddenly appeared and uttered those words. He really couldn’t believe that someone other than him and Kace’s friends would actually ask her to be her lab partner. “Kace, is it true? Is he your lab partner?”She couldn’t look at Stephen’s eyes because she felt guilty. They’d always been partners in their projects ever since. Even Nix was getting jealous before, but now, she was already used to it.When Luke noticed that Kace was having a hard time answering, he decided to speak for her. “Yes. I already asked her to be my lab partner.”“And… you agreed?” Stephen was still looking at Kace. She nodded. “But Stephen… don’t think that I don’t want to be lab partners with you anymore.”Stephen bit his lip and nodded.

AFTER their class, Kace and her staff proceeded to the office again to think of an alternative plan. They were all feeling hopeless already. But Brandon was doing everything just to lighten up their spirits. “Come on guys! Cheer up!” He clapped his hands. “We still have time to save the pub.”They all turned to him with a glare. “Tomorrow’s going to be Friday which means if we don’t find students to join us, we’re dead!” Chester hollered at him.“Hey! Why are you all sulking up? We’re still on Plan A. We still have Plan B, C, D….” Brandon continued to mention the letters until Kace stood up.“Brandon’s right. We can still do something. We’re not trying too hard guys. We need to plan a better strategy.” Kace said to them.“Yeah! Now that’s what I’m talking about. High-five, Chief!” Brandon raised his hand up but Kace shook her head. “Oh okay. Got it.”“Then what do we do?” Kenneth asked.“I think we should start by cleaning up here. KACE was feeling worried about Chandler after what they just saw on the street earlier. She knew that Jules was not the nicest person but she never imagined that the girl would be cheating on Chandler Andrew Park, the most popular guy in school. She had always thought that the two would end up getting married one day since they had been dating since middle school. But she thought wrong. She watched him as he gripped the steering wheel tight on his hands. She had a hard time stopping Chandler from going up to them and hitting the guy who happened to be his friend, Alex. But she got relieved when he was able to control himself. Or else she’d end up getting beaten by both of them.“You think they’re really a…” She tried to speak just to break the stillness inside the car. “I mean… maybe they’re just hanging out.”“I don’t know,” Chandler deadpanned.“What if they just met on the street and decided to just eat together?” She tried to convince him again just to ease him a bit.Chandler su

DURING lunch, Kace decided to give Stephen a box of pastries as a sign of apology. She knew that he’s still probably pissed or mad at her. And she couldn’t afford to lose a friend like him. She walked over towards the table where he and his brother were eating. “Kace?” Stephen looked at her in confusion when she reached them.“Uh… I was supposed to give this to you earlier but I hadn’t gotten a chance so… here.” She handed him two boxes. “The other one is for you, Mr. President.” She turned to JM.“Oh… uh… thank you,” JM responded.“Kace, I’m not mad at you if that’s what you’re thinking,” Stephen said. She shook her head. “I just want you to have it.”Just then, she saw Kris and Theo coming towards their table. She was surprised to see Chandler and Jules walking behind them. Maybe they’d cleared things up already. She was about to go back to their seat when suddenly, Jules caught sight of her. “Hey! But we still need a confirmation. Maybe we should just post it on the board like those in Lost and Found items?” Nix suggested.Kace was again in a state of daze. She remembered she had a deal with Nix before, that when the time came that this guy showed up, she’d admit to him that she likes him.As stupid as it may seemed, she developed a strange fondness on whoever was sending her the notes even though she still didn’t know who it was. But at the same time, she was scared ‘cause if it really was Stephen… she wouldn’t want to risk her friendship with Nix knowing that her bestfriend likes the guy.“Kace…?” She heard Luke ask beside her.She nodded. “Uh… I think we should work now.”“Yeah, I think we should start now.” Jessie spoke besi

Chandler asked her again, now standing up.Millie just shook her head. Then, an emcee from the stage spoke, catching back the attention of the crowd. Chandler groaned from his post. Millie suddenly heard bells ringing inside her head after Chandler said those words. They weren’t even a couple yet. She hasn’t even answered him yet. And now, he’s suddenly saying those things. And worst… infront of his parents. What was he thinking? It’s not like she didn’t want him back or anything, it’s just that it’s all happening so fast. She hit her head with her hand, as soon as she got back inside their house. She was about to sit on the couch when suddenly, a voice startled her from behind. “Millie, dear, you’re home late.” It was her dad, sitting on the couch.“Dad? When did you get here?” She asked back, taking a seat next to him.“Just now. I’m sorry I had to be out of the country most of the time.” He patted Millie’s head. “By the way, where have you been?”“At Chandler’s, dad.”“You seem rather… annoyed or pissed at something. Millie was feet frozen on the ground as soon as she heard Luke saying those words. What is this guy talking about? Why is he saying these things? Her mind just couldn’t handle it any longer.“I know, Millie. You may not remember anything about me, but I will make you remember me again.” Luke held her hand close to his chest. “I hope you won’t push me away. I’m just doing this to protect you because I know better than anyone else here.”Millie couldn’t speak. She wanted to run away from him because the guy was obviously a stranger to her. But something was telling her that she could trust him. There’s this weird feeling of comfort and warmth that she couldn’t exactly point out. And the way this guy looked into her eyes seemed so sincere that she wanted to believe everything he’s saying.“So please, Millie. Just stay here for this time. I promise to bring you back there by tomorrow,” Luke continued to speak.Millie gulped down and nodded her head.Luke smiled at her. “Come on. I’ll take

“… I love you so much. And I want us to be an official couple from this day onwards.”Millie blinked her eyes a few times, after hearing Chandler’s words. The guy already confessed and he wanted them to be an official couple. And though Millie was so sure that she felt the same way for him, she still didn’t want to engage herself and commit herself into a relationship.Like what her brother always reminds her, she was in no way going into a relationship and she was too scared to let people enter her life. But at the back of her mind, she was trying to convince herself that she could trust her life to Chandler. She was still in trance and was on the process of formulating an answer, when suddenly, the tall guy let out a sigh. “I’m sorry, Millie. I shouldn’t be pushing you into this.”“Oh… uh…” She was still lost for words. He probably felt awkward at the moment and that was the last thing she wanted to happen. “You don’t have to apologize Chandler.”The tall guy smiled again, his dimpl

Luke took a step back as soon as he heard the girl saying those words. “I am not Kace!” His mouth gaped open while trying to process what’s happening infront of him. Was she just pretending? He stared at her for a moment. Nothing changed from her appearance, except maybe for her long, wavy hair which was now hanging loosely down her chest, as opposed to her neatly tied-up hair years ago.Apart from that, he was still seeing the same Kassandra Larson whom he fell in love with. The bold and witty girl with kick-ass taekwondo skills was standing infront of him, only now, that girl didn’t recognize him. Is she pretending not to know me? He wanted to blurt out, but this was definitely not just some silly joke anymore.“Millie! Millie! Is that you?” Luke heard a voice coming from a distance. It must be Chandler already, he thought. But, why is he calling her Millie?Luke looked at the girl infront of him again and he could see how scared she was after what he did. He noticed her hands trem

She specifically told them that she didn’t want to dance, but everyone was just so stubborn especially Chandler, who basically spent all his time dancing with her. She sat next to Brandon on their table as soon as she finished dancing with her brother, who was kind enough to reprimand Chandler from asking her to dance again.“Millie… I haven’t danced with you yet.” Brandon hissed beside her.She turned to face him and saw that the guy was already on high with alcohol. “Brandon, I think you need to rest now.”The guy shook his head, as he grabbed another glass of alcohol on the table. He was about to drink it up, but Millie was just in time to stop him. “Hey! Millie couldn’t keep still from her seat even after they already left the Golf Center. She was so sure that she saw that guy looking right at her. He was wearing a black leather jacket with a cap on his head. She wasn’t able to see his face because he was wearing a facemask. The only visible part were his eyes which were boring into hers, making her feel like she was being threatened. She sighed inwardly, trying to remove the anxiety she was feeling inside. Whoever was that person, she just hoped that she wouldn’t ever see him again in the future. Moments later, she decided to just busy herself looking outside the car window and admire the spots outside the city.“Where do you wanna eat?” Their dad asked the two who were both quiet the whole ride.“Mil, where do you wanna go?” Kris turned to her.Millie just shrugged.
