AFTER their class, Kace and her staff proceeded to the office again to think of an alternative plan. They were all feeling hopeless already.
But Brandon was doing everything just to lighten up their spirits. “Come on guys! Cheer up!” He clapped his hands. “We still have time to save the pub.”
They all turned to him with a glare. “Tomorrow’s going to be Friday which means if we don’t find students to join us, we’re dead!” Chester hollered at him.
“Hey! Why are you all sulking up? We’re still on Plan A. We still have Plan B, C, D….” Brandon continued to mention the letters until Kace stood up.
“Brandon’s right. We can still do something. We’re not trying too hard guys. We need to plan a better strategy.” Kace said to them.
“Yeah! Now that’s what I’m talking about. High-five, Chief!” Brandon raised his hand up but Kace shook her head. “Oh okay. Got it.”
“Then what do we do?” Kenneth asked.
“I think we should start by cleaning up here. We should let them see how cool is the place they’re missing if they won’t join us.” Kace smiled at Nix who was approving of her next move.
“YEAH!” Brandon and Chester high-fived. Then, the latter paused. “Wait. Where are we gonna look for money to spend on?”
“We can just… save from our allowance,” Max suggested.
“We can do that but even if we do save some, it still won’t be enough for renovation. We only have six members. And we’ll be needing paint, wood, etcetera…” Chester explained.
Max nodded. Then, Nix stood up from her seat. “I just had the most brilliant idea.” They all turned to her with anticipating looks. “We can just sell cookies and stuffs that my mom bakes on the park.”
“Oh wow! Finally you thought of something relevant.” Brandon applauded her. Nix just raised a brow at him.
“I think that’s a great idea Nix.” Kace nodded. “Who else is amenable with that?”
They all raised their hands up.
“Okay then. We’ll start tomorrow.”

LUKE was silently listening to his music as his brother was watching him from the rear-view mirror. They were already on their way home after their classes that day.
Lance was still worried about his brother because he knew he was still affected by the break-up. He missed the old Luke who used to be so cheery, warm and bright. Now, he was the exact opposite – gloomy, cold and dark. He wished he would see the old him again.
When Luke noticed that his brother was looking at him, he took his headphones off and asked, “Yes?”
Lance shook his head. “It’s nothing. Do you want to eat outside for dinner?”
He put back his headphones on his ears. “Anything is fine.” He leaned his head on the window when suddenly, he saw a familiar figure walking on the sidewalk. “W-Wait! Stop the car.”
His brother pulled the car to a stop. He turned to him in confusion. “What? Why?”
“Uh…” Luke was still looking out the window. He was unsure of himself whether to step out of the car and accompany Kace inside the pet shop or just go home.
Lance followed his line of vision and finally saw what his brother was fussing about. “Ah! I understand now. It’s that girl from yesterday. Are you going to follow her again?”
Luke glared at him. “No. Let’s just… go home.”
Lance shook his head. If he’s going to go home, he’d just isolate himself again and get more depressed. “No. Get out of the car, Luke. If it’s for your project or something, you should help her, right?”
“But…” He sighed. “All right. I’m going.” He stepped out of the car and slammed the car door.
Lance smirked. “I’ll go ahead now. Bye!”

WHEN the car was out of sight, Luke dragged his feet inside the pet shop where he saw Kace entering. He scanned the shop hoping to get a glimpse of her and soon enough, he saw her on the area of the hamsters.
“So cute!” He heard her say as she admired the pet infront of her.
Kace turned beside the cage of the hamster and saw a rabbit staring down at her. She bent down to look at it closer. “Aww! What a cute bunny!”
“That would be 150 dollars, miss. That rabbit is a rare breed. It came from another country,” one of the store assistants said.
“Ah… I… was just looking at it. I… don’t have money to buy it.” She stepped away from the cage and decided to just go out of the store since she didn’t really have enough money to buy.
Luke just watched her as she walked out of the shop. Just then, one of the assistants saw him. “Sir, did you want to buy something?”
“Uh… no… I mean, I was just looking…” He bowed before her and decided to follow Kace outside.
When he was already out, he saw her infront of the ice cream parlor from across the street. He was about to march his way over her but then, he saw a guy walking up to Kace. He stopped walking and decided to just forget about her and go back inside the pet shop.
***
THE ice cream parlor was one of Kace’s most favourite places apart from the convenience store and the bookstore. So when she caught sight of it, she decided to buy one just to cool off a bit. She was about to open the door of the parlor when suddenly, someone grabbed the handle first.
“Aha! I knew you’d be here.” Chandler greeted her with another wicked smirk. “Mind if I join you?”
“Ugh!” She pushed the door open and ignored his remark.
“Hey! Larson, wait up!” He followed her inside as she proceeded to the counter and ordered an ice cream. “I’d have that one too, miss.” He said to the girl on the cashier.
“What are you doing here, Parker?” Kace finally asked.
He smirked. “Why? Can’t I eat ice cream now?”
“Yes. But there are a lot of shops here. Can’t you just go somewhere else?”
“No. Because I was expecting to see you here. How’s your recruitment going?” He teased. “I heard you haven’t gotten anyone. That’s too bad.”
“If you came here just to piss me off, then I might as well be the one to walk out.” She was about to turn her back but Chandler stopped her.
“All right. I’ll stop now.” He raised his hands up.

THEY were now both sitting on one table not speaking with each other. Kace silently ate her cookies and cream as she stared out at the street across them where she came from.
She continued to fill her mouth when suddenly, she saw two unexpected persons walking side by side while holding hands on the pavement.
She almost choked causing Chandler to stand up. “Hey! Are you okay?” He offered her a bottle of water.
She nodded. “I… think you should go now.”
“What? Me?”
“Uh… I mean, I’ll go now then.” She stood up hoping to distract him. Even though Chandler has done nothing but piss her, she still didn’t want him to see what she saw.
“Wait, I’ll drive you home then,” he said to Kace while she just continued to march her way out of the store.
Chandler was a bit confused as to why Kace was acting that way. So he followed her until they reached his car parked outside. “What are you fussing about?”
Kace was still seeing the two walking on the sidewalk across them so he pulled Chandler in the manner in which he wouldn’t be able to see them.
He was now facing her as she tightened her grip on his robust arms. “Hey! What are you doing?” He asked her.
“I... uh… can you just stand still? I’m hiding from someone.” She pretended to hide herself infront of the tall guy.
“Who are you hiding from?” He was about to look behind him but Kace managed to stop him again.
She tiptoed and covered his eyes.
“Hey! Larson, what are you doing?” He fought hard trying to shake her hands away from his face until finally, he did.
Kace sighed.
“What is wrong with you?” Chandler fixed his coat as he noticed what Kace was looking at.
From where they were standing, Chandler could clearly see his girlfriend entering a restaurant nearby with her arms wrapped on another guy’s arms.
And the worst part was that… the guy was one of his close friends.
***
KACE was feeling worried about Chandler after what they just saw on the street earlier. She knew that Jules was not the nicest person but she never imagined that the girl would be cheating on Chandler Andrew Park, the most popular guy in school. She had always thought that the two would end up getting married one day since they had been dating since middle school. But she thought wrong. She watched him as he gripped the steering wheel tight on his hands. She had a hard time stopping Chandler from going up to them and hitting the guy who happened to be his friend, Alex. But she got relieved when he was able to control himself. Or else she’d end up getting beaten by both of them.“You think they’re really a…” She tried to speak just to break the stillness inside the car. “I mean… maybe they’re just hanging out.”“I don’t know,” Chandler deadpanned.“What if they just met on the street and decided to just eat together?” She tried to convince him again just to ease him a bit.Chandler su
DURING lunch, Kace decided to give Stephen a box of pastries as a sign of apology. She knew that he’s still probably pissed or mad at her. And she couldn’t afford to lose a friend like him. She walked over towards the table where he and his brother were eating. “Kace?” Stephen looked at her in confusion when she reached them.“Uh… I was supposed to give this to you earlier but I hadn’t gotten a chance so… here.” She handed him two boxes. “The other one is for you, Mr. President.” She turned to JM.“Oh… uh… thank you,” JM responded.“Kace, I’m not mad at you if that’s what you’re thinking,” Stephen said. She shook her head. “I just want you to have it.”Just then, she saw Kris and Theo coming towards their table. She was surprised to see Chandler and Jules walking behind them. Maybe they’d cleared things up already. She was about to go back to their seat when suddenly, Jules caught sight of her. “Hey! Who gave you the permission to come here?”Kace sighed. She didn’t want to respond
“ALWAYS smile… ‘cause you’re making one person happy… ME!” Nix shrieked after reading the note aloud. “We really need to find whoever wrote this now.”“But I thought you said you were positive that it came from Stephen?” Brandon teased her again.“Yeah. But we still need a confirmation. Maybe we should just post it on the board like those in Lost and Found items?” Nix suggested.Kace was again in a state of daze. She remembered she had a deal with Nix before, that when the time came that this guy showed up, she’d admit to him that she likes him.As stupid as it may seemed, she developed a strange fondness on whoever was sending her the notes even though she still didn’t know who it was. But at the same time, she was scared ‘cause if it really was Stephen… she wouldn’t want to risk her friendship with Nix knowing that her bestfriend likes the guy.“Kace…?” She heard Luke ask beside her.She nodded. “Uh… I think we should work now.”“Yeah, I think we should start now.” Jessie spoke besi
LUKE and Lance were on their way home after cleaning their office. The latter watched his brother as he anxiously tapped his hands on his lap. “Hey, what’s the matter?”“Nothing.”“I can’t believe Kace won over you in the food fight. I’ve always thought of you as the biggest eater of all.” He chuckled a bit. But Luke didn’t seem amuse at all.“Don’t you think it’s unfitting that we left Kace there alone?”Lance saw a sense of worry painted all over Luke’s face. He had seen this kind of face before. It was always whenever he would worry over his ex-girlfriend. He knew that Kace was no ordinary girl. It was the first time he saw his brother smile and laugh after the break-up and it was all because of her. “Are you really that worried that something might happen to Kace?“It’s… it’s not that. It’s just that we shouldn’t have left her.” Luke’s eyes were fixed on the road.Lance smiled. “I guess you do care about her.”“W-what?” Luke turned his head to his brother. Honestly, he didn’t know
ALMOST an hour passed and still, there was no sign of help. Luke had already stopped trying to break the door open.Meanwhile, Kace was feeling hopeful that her brother might somehow discover that she’s not coming home and eventually, he’d look for her. She rested her head on the wall and closed her eyes. Who could’ve locked us up here?Luke stared at her as she sat quietly on the corner with her eyes closed. He wanted to do something but he already tried everything just to break the door. If only the windows didn’t have steel bars, they could’ve just broken them and made their way out. He sighed as he walked towards Kace. She didn’t seem to notice it so he just sat on the floor quietly beside her without saying a thing. Just then, she heard her speak, “Luke, do you think… someone really wanted to lock me up here?”She craned her neck on her right to face him. She could’ve gone insane already if she was the only one inside. But she was still fortunate that this guy beside her came ba
“LUKE, I can’t sleep,” Kace mumbled, as she turned to him beside her. He has found a Rubik’s cube on the shelf which he had spent his time completing it for almost ten times already. She watched as he attempted to complete it again for the nth time. “Wow! How are you doing that?”He stopped moving the cubes and looked at her. “Do you want me to teach you?”She nodded. He handed her the cube. “Alright. You just have to follow my instructions okay? First, you have to complete this side before proceeding to the remaining layers. Like this.” He showed her how to complete one side. She tried to follow him but she was too immersed on his attractive face which she never thought would even exist. How could someone like him be friends with me?“Kace, did you get it?” Luke asked her.She just nodded, though she didn’t really get a thing.“Okay, try to finish this layer.” The guy handed her back the cube. She stared at it for a moment. “I… can’t do it.”“No. You have to believe you can do it fir
CHANDLER was confused when he saw Sophie suddenly walking out of the scene. He was about to call out to her but then, he noticed Luke already waking up.“Chandler?” The guy asked him, rubbing his eyes.“What happened here?” Chandler asked back. “Why are you both here?”“Someone locked us up.”“What???” Chandler exclaimed. “Who?”Luke shrugged. “We don’t know.” Then, he noticed him turning to his side while looking at Kace who was still sleeping with her head on his shoulder.Chandler sighed to himself. If Kris finds out about this, he’s sure that he’ll get mad. “I’ll take her home now then.”The other guy didn’t respond. Instead, he turned to him with a questioning look. “You know where she lives?”That’s when Chandler realized that he wasn’t supposed to take her home. Luke would know that they knew each other. But then, if he wouldn’t, Kris would seriously beat him up. “Then… do you know where she lives?”Luke nodded. Of course, he knew where she lives after walking her home. And th
STEPHEN was waiting for Kace as he watched her talk with Chandler. Since when did they become this close? It was definitely not just a friendly greeting. They looked so serious in their conversation. When Kace turned around, he quickly averted his gaze and pretended that he was walking back to their building.“Stephen?” He heard Kace calling out to him.He turned his back and saw her approaching. “Oh… uh Kace.”“Why are you still here?” She asked.“Uh… JM let me stay for a few minutes.”Kace nodded.“How about you?”“Uh…” She paused. “I was… I mean… I ran into someone.”“Someone?”She nodded. “But it was nothing. Come on let’s just hurry back.” She was about to run but he stopped her in the arm.“Kace… I… wanna ask you something?”She got alarmed. Could it be that he saw me talking with Chandler? But I could just say that it was for the renovation of the office. She shook her head. “What’s that?”“It’s about the party on Friday.” Stephen’s eyes were fixed on her.She got relieved that
Everyone's attention turned to the guy who just walked in from the entrance with two guys holding him on his sides. Meanwhile, Millie's eyes almost popped out when she recognized who it was. "Mr. Stranger Guy?""Mr. Who?" Chandler asked her back, who was still down on his knees."Uh... no one,” Millie answered back, watching Mr. Stranger Guy make his way towards the table of the Kramer's."That must be the eldest son,” Millie's dad muttered on their table."Eldest son?" She mumbled back. So, he is a Kramer? Vince and Jane’s brother? Mr. and Mrs. Kramer's son? She shook her head in disbelief. How could their worlds be this small?"You know him, Millie?" Chandler asked her again, now standing up.Millie just shook her head. Then, an emcee from the stage spoke, catching back the attention of the crowd. Chandler groaned from his post. "My proposal is ruined. You haven't even answered me yet."Millie sighed. "I... can just answer you some other time, Chandler."“But, I want this scene to b
Millie suddenly heard bells ringing inside her head after Chandler said those words. They weren’t even a couple yet. She hasn’t even answered him yet. And now, he’s suddenly saying those things. And worst… infront of his parents. What was he thinking? It’s not like she didn’t want him back or anything, it’s just that it’s all happening so fast. She hit her head with her hand, as soon as she got back inside their house. She was about to sit on the couch when suddenly, a voice startled her from behind. “Millie, dear, you’re home late.” It was her dad, sitting on the couch.“Dad? When did you get here?” She asked back, taking a seat next to him.“Just now. I’m sorry I had to be out of the country most of the time.” He patted Millie’s head. “By the way, where have you been?”“At Chandler’s, dad.”“You seem rather… annoyed or pissed at something. What happened dear?” Her dad turned to her, waiting for an answer.“Uh…” She gulped down before continuing. “Chandler… said to his parents that h
Millie was feet frozen on the ground as soon as she heard Luke saying those words. What is this guy talking about? Why is he saying these things? Her mind just couldn’t handle it any longer.“I know, Millie. You may not remember anything about me, but I will make you remember me again.” Luke held her hand close to his chest. “I hope you won’t push me away. I’m just doing this to protect you because I know better than anyone else here.”Millie couldn’t speak. She wanted to run away from him because the guy was obviously a stranger to her. But something was telling her that she could trust him. There’s this weird feeling of comfort and warmth that she couldn’t exactly point out. And the way this guy looked into her eyes seemed so sincere that she wanted to believe everything he’s saying.“So please, Millie. Just stay here for this time. I promise to bring you back there by tomorrow,” Luke continued to speak.Millie gulped down and nodded her head.Luke smiled at her. “Come on. I’ll take
“… I love you so much. And I want us to be an official couple from this day onwards.”Millie blinked her eyes a few times, after hearing Chandler’s words. The guy already confessed and he wanted them to be an official couple. And though Millie was so sure that she felt the same way for him, she still didn’t want to engage herself and commit herself into a relationship.Like what her brother always reminds her, she was in no way going into a relationship and she was too scared to let people enter her life. But at the back of her mind, she was trying to convince herself that she could trust her life to Chandler. She was still in trance and was on the process of formulating an answer, when suddenly, the tall guy let out a sigh. “I’m sorry, Millie. I shouldn’t be pushing you into this.”“Oh… uh…” She was still lost for words. He probably felt awkward at the moment and that was the last thing she wanted to happen. “You don’t have to apologize Chandler.”The tall guy smiled again, his dimpl
Luke took a step back as soon as he heard the girl saying those words. “I am not Kace!” His mouth gaped open while trying to process what’s happening infront of him. Was she just pretending? He stared at her for a moment. Nothing changed from her appearance, except maybe for her long, wavy hair which was now hanging loosely down her chest, as opposed to her neatly tied-up hair years ago.Apart from that, he was still seeing the same Kassandra Larson whom he fell in love with. The bold and witty girl with kick-ass taekwondo skills was standing infront of him, only now, that girl didn’t recognize him. Is she pretending not to know me? He wanted to blurt out, but this was definitely not just some silly joke anymore.“Millie! Millie! Is that you?” Luke heard a voice coming from a distance. It must be Chandler already, he thought. But, why is he calling her Millie?Luke looked at the girl infront of him again and he could see how scared she was after what he did. He noticed her hands trem
Millie felt exhausted after dancing to almost all of her friends that night. She specifically told them that she didn’t want to dance, but everyone was just so stubborn especially Chandler, who basically spent all his time dancing with her. She sat next to Brandon on their table as soon as she finished dancing with her brother, who was kind enough to reprimand Chandler from asking her to dance again.“Millie… I haven’t danced with you yet.” Brandon hissed beside her.She turned to face him and saw that the guy was already on high with alcohol. “Brandon, I think you need to rest now.”The guy shook his head, as he grabbed another glass of alcohol on the table. He was about to drink it up, but Millie was just in time to stop him. “Hey! I’m still drinking, Millie!” He yelled at her, causing the others to look towards their table.Chandler and Kris quickly ran towards them and stopped Brandon from raging. “Brandon, that’s enough for now. You need to go to your room.” Kris said, placing an
“Good morning, sleepyhead!” Millie heard someone speaking from her subconscious, but she just ignored it. “Time to wake up!” She was continuously hearing a voice beside her. She rolled on her bed and groped for a pillow to cover her ears. “Mil, wake up! We need to go now!We need to go where? She forced her eyes to open upon hearing that last statement. Her brother was frowning and waiting for her to stand up. “W-Where are we going at this hour?” She asked, yawning.Kris sighed. “Chandler called and said that we’re going on a trip.”“A… a what??” Millie straightened up from her bed and stared at her brother in confusion.“They’ll be here in a few minutes so better hurry up.” Kris messed her hair up before stepping out of the room.Meanwhile, Millie still didn’t move from her seat, trying to process what her brother just said. A trip? Why are they suddenly arranging something out of the blue? She shook her head in frustration and dragged her feet out of the bed to fix herself.Few min
Millie couldn’t keep still from her seat even after they already left the Golf Center. She was so sure that she saw that guy looking right at her. He was wearing a black leather jacket with a cap on his head. She wasn’t able to see his face because he was wearing a facemask. The only visible part were his eyes which were boring into hers, making her feel like she was being threatened. She sighed inwardly, trying to remove the anxiety she was feeling inside. Whoever was that person, she just hoped that she wouldn’t ever see him again in the future. Moments later, she decided to just busy herself looking outside the car window and admire the spots outside the city.“Where do you wanna eat?” Their dad asked the two who were both quiet the whole ride.“Mil, where do you wanna go?” Kris turned to her.Millie just shrugged. She wasn’t really in the mood to eat at that moment. If only she could just tell them that...“Okay, let’s just go eat somewhere.” Their dad smiled. Just then, his phone
Millie sat uneasily at the back of the van together with her friends (as what they claimed their selves to be). She was still really feeling anxious meeting them cause in her eyes, they were all still strangers to her no matter how much she tried to convince herself to be comfortable around them. She heaved a deep sigh, watching the other guys bicker at each other inside the van causing a commotion which seemed to be a natural thing for them already. She wasn’t used to any of these. She was happier being alone and quiet. She didn’t realize that she’d be facing these kinds of people when she got to Florida.“Chief…” Someone called her from behind, startling her a bit. When she turned around, she saw Chester smiling at her. “Uh… y-yeah?” She answered with uncertainty.“You want one?” He offered her a yoghurt.“Uh… no. Thank you.” She said to him, causing the guy to crease his brows in discontent.“Did your appetite change as well? You never turn down snacks like this, or any food for th
