Natasha hurried down the stairs, dressed in her school uniform and with her bag slanted across her shoulders. Her feet made loud noises on the floor as she practically flew down the stairs. On getting to the bottom of the stairs, she halted and stared around her curiously, her gaze landing on Ashley and Jenny who were on the couch. Natasha furrowed her eyebrows. 'Where is Jenny?’ she muttered to herself, moving towards the dining table.
One of Nicholas’ maids, Mina, walked out of the kitchen holding a plate and a jug in her hand. As she headed towards Ashley, Natasha stopped her. “Hi Mina. Have you seen my sister this morning?”
“Which one?” Mina asked.
“Diane. I’ve checked her room and she isn’t there. I wonder where she might be.”
“No, I haven’t seen her this morning.”
Natasha nodded uneasily and moved to the dining table to sit. Her mind was really disturbed, making her unable to eat. She waited for a while.
When she heard footsteps on the stairs, she quickly jumped off her seat and turned towards the stairs.
Nicholas walked down the stairs, adjusting the edge of his shirt. He raised his head up and smiled at Jenny and Ashley. “Hey babe,” he greeted and Ashley stood up. He have her a quick kiss on her mouth. “Are you ready?” he asked.
“Yeah,” she replied, beaming.
“Nicholas, wait,” Natasha called, moving towards him.
He turned around and glared at her. “What?” he snapped impatiently.
“Nothing,” Natasha replied. “I’m just worried about Diane. I haven’t seen her this morning. She isn’t in her room and she is not here either.”
Nicholas opened his mouth to ask her why she was informing him and how that was any of his business but even he knew how cruel that sounded, so he asked, “She isn’t in her room?”
“Yeah. She is usually up and ready before now. You know she drops me off at school most times.”
“Maybe she’s in the bathroom,” Nicholas suggested. “Have you checked?”
“She’s not there,” Natasha replied, her voice becoming hysterical. “I already checked. She’s not anywhere at home. No one has seen her this morning.”
The hysterical and urgent tone of Natasha’s voice suddenly made Nicholas anxious. He stared at her, trying to make sense of what she was saying. “So, you are saying she’s not at home now. She is missing?”
“Yes!” Natasha shouted, her heart pounding so loud that they were audible to her. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead as she stared at Nicholas. “Oh God, where can she be?”
“Have you tried calling her phone?” Nicholas asked again.
“It’s switched off!” She began to pace forth and back. “Oh God, Oh God,” she muttered in panic.
Ashlee grabbed Nicholas’ hand. “Nick honey, we are going to be late. Let’s get going. We don’t have time for all this.”
“Ashley, please clam down and wait. Diane is missing,” Nicholas pleaded, placing his hand on her arm. He turned to Natasha. “So, she is really missing?”
“Yes!” Natasha yelled, her face becoming red. “Yes, Nicholas! Yes, she is missing! That’s what I’ve been explaining for the past five minutes!” she screamed at him.
“Shit.”
“Hey,” Someone called from the stairs. Everyone turned their heads and saw Malvika standing at the middle of the stairs, her face swollen from sleep and her hair, dishevelled. Her gaze was on Natasha. “Hey, what’s wrong? I heard someone yelling.”
“Diane is……..” Natasha started to say.
“Your sister is missing,” Ashley interrupted. “And Nicholas thinks that somehow, this is his business! And we have a shoot we need to meet up to!” she yelled.
---------------------------------------------------------------
About forty five minutes later, Nicholas was still pacing around, Natasha was sitting on the couch, sobbing. They had no idea where to begin their search. All they could do was sit and hope that she returns home or someone calls to inform them of her whereabouts.
As usual, Ashley and Jenny were sitting on the sofa, chewing gum and watching television without any care in the world. Malvika who had come downstairs five minutes after the discovery of Diane’s absence was nearly hysterical. She was raging, ranting and screaming at nobody in particular.
“This is all your fault!” she screamed at Nicholas, pointing her fingers at him. “You caused this!”
Nicolas paused his pacing. “How?” He asked confused and agitated. “What are you talking about?”
“Don’t you dare pretend like you don’t know what I’m talking about!” Malvika yelled.
“Can you stop shouting?” Jenny asked, pissed. “It’s not my brother’s fault that your sister is missing.”
“Shut the fuck up!” Malvika screamed out as she turned towards Jenny. “Shut your stinking trap up!”
“Hey, stop that. You are crossing the line,” Nicholas warned, giving her a stern look.
The door slightly creaked and they all turned their attention to it. When it opened, Jayden walked in. In his arms was a sleeping Diane, her hands hung loosely across his neck. Natasha sprang up and hurried towards them. “Oh my God. Oh God. She’s okay. She’s fine. She’s perfectly alright.”
Nicholas turned to look at him. “Who are you?!” he boomed loudly.
Of course, no one paid attention to him. Malvika hurried towards him. “Jay, is she okay?”
“She’s fine,” Jayden replied with a small smile. “She’s just sleeping.”
Natasha sighed. “Ah,” she breathed audibly, holding on to the edge of the couch as her shoulders sagged in relief.
“Where was she?” Malvika asked.
“We were at the park,” Jayden replied. “Before you start bombarding me with more questions, we need to take her to her room. Will you show me where it is?”
“Sure. Come with me,” Malvika said, leading him towards the stairs.
“Wait a minute,” Nicholas stepped in front of them. He narrowed his eyes in Jayden’s direction. “I asked a question. Who is he?!”
“None of your business,” Malvika retorted. “Excuse us.”
“This is my house and I cannot just allow any stranger to wander about it anyhow. So, answer my question.”
Malvika sighed impatiently. “Nicholas…..”
“I’m Jayden, Diane’s friend,” Jayden replied. “I understand the need to protect your properties but I think it’s essential to put Diane to bed first, don’t you think so?”
“With that been said, get out of our way,” Malvika said, shoving Nicholas aside.
Nicholas watched with his mouth opened as Malvika and Natasha led Jayden upstairs. He turned to Ashley and Jayden. “Can you….can you….can you believe this nonsense?!”
“I told you so,” Ashley said to him, her tone a little bit smug. “Told you it was nothing serious. We would have been at the location nearly an hour ago if you had just listen to me.”
“Thanks Jay,” Malvika said as she and Jayden returned down the stairs.
Jayden half smiled. “It’s fine,” he replied. He gave Natasha a pat on her hair and turned to Nicholas. “Diane is already going through a lot. You shouldn’t stress her out more than they way she is already stressed,” he stated.
“Get out,” Nicholas fumed.
Jayden shrugged his shoulders, turned and walked out of the house.
“You see,” Nicholas began, facing Malvika. His face was contorted with anger. “Your sister that you were screaming and yelling at me for was out whoring around with some other man!” he yelled.
Malvika turned to look at him, a fiery look in her eyes. “What did you just say?”
“Your sister is a whore!” he yelled.
Before Malvika could react, Natasha lunged herself at Nicholas, hitting his chest with her fists rapidly. “Don’t you ever call my sister that again!” she screamed.
Nicholas scoffed and pushed her away. “You are all the same,” he said and walked away.
Ashley stood up. “You three should just leave this house already,” she stated. “Your presence is really causing commotion.” She turned and followed the direction Nicholas had taken.
-------------------------------------------------------------
“Can you imagine his audacity?” Natasha asked, still baffled by what happened in the morning. She was in the room with Malvika, sitting on the bed.
“I can’t believe this. How dare he call Diane a whore,” Malvika fumed pacing up and down her room. “How could he?! What is wrong with him?! Oh God! This is so frustrating! I feel like killing him right now.”
“He is so annoying,” Natasha replied. She was lying on the bed in her school uniform, having given up the idea of going to school today.
She watched as Malvika walked around, her face red with anger and her hands clenched into a fist. After a while, she stood up and began to take off her school uniform.
“The annoying part of this all is that he thinks he can get away with it. He feels he can do anything, say anything to us and get away with it,” Natasha said as she unbuttoned her shirt. “I don’t think I’ve ever strongly felt like killing someone before the way I feel like killing him.”
“He’s going to regret this,” Malvika fumed angrily. “I’m so going to make sure he pays for this,” she said.
“What do you think we should do?”
Malvika thought for a while and a slow smirk spread across her face. “I think I know what to do.”
Nicholas came out of the bathroom, a towel tied around his waist. He looked at Ashley’s sleeping figure on the bed, shook his head and smiled fondly. Careful not to make a noise or disturb her, he treaded slowly towards the dressing table and picked up his body cream. He spread out his palm and pressed out the cream. After rubbing cream all over his body, he hurriedly wore his jeans trousers and shirts. He picked up his hair cream from the table and pressed out the cream. He stared at it with a puzzled look on his face. It looked oddly strange. Then he, shrugged and rubbed it all over his hair.He pressed more into his hands and rubbed all over his hair. He was so engrossed in rubbing the cream all over his hair that he did not realize the transformation that was taking place on his head, neither did he bother to check the mirror.Once he was done, he tapped Ashley. “Hey babe.”Her eyes fluttered open. She closed them back
“Malvika!” Natasha yelled. “Nicholas has left the house. Now, we need to figure out what to do! Gosh!” She shouted in agitation, pacing around the room. She sat down and stood up again, unable to stay in a place.“Seriously, you guys should not have done this,” Diane said.“Just stop blaming us and help us think of a way out!” Natasha exclaimed.“You guys, calm down,” Malvika said in a calm tone, totally unbothered. “It’s not such a big deal. So, what if he finds out? Who cares? What can he do to us, anyway?”“You’ve forgotten that we are living under his roof; he can do absolutely anything to us. Besides, Mina is involved in this plan; she helped us get the spare key to Nicholas’ room and she was watching the door for us while we carried out the prank. We can’t let her lose her job.” Natasha replied, a panic-stricken look on her face.
It was evening and Natasha was sitting on the couch, her legs folded with a bowl of popcorn on her thighs. Her gaze was wholly concentrated on the television as she occasionally reached into the bowl to throw an handful of popcorn into her mouth. Diane was at the dining table at the far end of the living room. A couple of files were spread out in front of her. Her head was buried into them as she tried to sort them out. Malvika descended the stairs and walked towards Natasha. She slumped into the seat. “Hey,” she muttered. Natasha simply gave her a nod and turned back to the television. Malvika reached out a hand and dipped them into the bowl. She packed an handful of popcorn and threw them into her mouth. Natasha turned to glare at her. “Thief.” Malvika rolled her eyes. “Is Nicholas back?” she asked. “No. Where is Jenny?” “I don’t know. Somewhere in her room, maybe,” Malvika replied. The doorbell
Once again, Diane was in the conference room with the shareholders of the company. She rocked her chair as she stared into the faces of the men sitting before her. It seemed so unbelievable that she would be heading a meeting consisting of about five smart, rich, wealthy and powerful people. She rocked her chair slowly, her face grim and unsmiling. “Well?” She broke the tense silence. “What should we do?” “We should invest in the cement company,” Derrick Hale said – for the umpeeteenth time- coldly and harshly. “I don’t see any reason to invest into junk foods.” “The only reason why you want to invest in the cement company is because it happens to be one of the companies you also invest in,” Edward McClain said to Derrick Hale, giving him terrible eyes. “What is wrong with that?” Derrick Hale spat out vexedly. “Everything is wrong with it,” Jasper Harrington said with a narrowed look. “Mr. Hale seems to have forgotten that we do
Diane walked into the restaurant, her arm hooked into Jayden’s. They stopped at the entrance for a while, surveying the restaurant. “Wow, this place is actually beautiful.”Jayden tightened his hold on Diane. “Yeah, it is,” he replied softly, staring down to look at her face. Diane looked up at him and gave him one of those beautiful smiles that melted his heart away. “Come on let’s get our seat.”As they moved, a water intercepted them. “Good afternoon, sir, ma. How may we help you?”“Good afternoon. I made a reservation under the name Jayden Hale.”The waiter flopped through a pad. Then, he raised his head and smiled. “Of course. Come this way,” he said, turning to walk. Jayden and Diane followed him without complaint. He took them to a seat beside the window. “Here is your seat, Sir and Ma,” he stated.Diane gave him a smile. “Thank you.”
Diane gasped has he kissed her roughly. He slid his arm around her waist and cupped the back of her neck with his other hand. Unconsciously, she hooked her hands around his neck and tilted her head to deepen the kiss. Nicholas slid his hand to her ass and squeezed it. She gasped at the action, opening her mouth in the process and his tongue thrust into hers, demanding and possessing. She moaned into his mouth. Nicholas traced his hand down her body, lingering at her ass and cupping her breasts a few times. He slipped his hands into the blouse she was wearing and brushed her nipple through the thin and lacy bra she was wearing. He held one of her breasts in his hand and squeezed it roughly.Diane senses jolted from the action and she suddenly became aware of the action. Her eyes widened as she broke the kiss and frantically pushed him aside. “What the hell?!” she spat out, wiping her mouth and trying really hard to adjust her now disheve
Diane swung her leg across the bed to the floor and walked to the bathroom. She stood in front of the mirror, looked at her reflection, placed her hands on her cheek and sighed. She looked messy. Her hair was messily sticking out from the band that held it. Her face was puffy and her eyes looked swollen. But that wasn’t what she was worried about. She kept thinking about the little stunt Nicholas pulled during dinner and how badly it affected. How are body had tingled when he out his hands inside of her; how her skin felt like it was on fire when he moved his hands around. She hadn’t wanted him to stop and she couldn’t deny that it felt so good and it left her extremely needy for a release but she knew she had to stop. Nicholas just wanted to mess with her feelings; she was so sure about that. And she wasn’t going to let him do that. The knock on her door interrupted her thoughts. “I’m coming,” she said and
Malvika drove into the parking lot of the bookshop. She turned off the car, picked her handbag and got down. She locked the door, adjusted her skirt and walked into the bookshop. She had no daily job to get to and the house was becoming boring for her. So, she decided to pick up new books to keep herself busy. She walked into the bookshop, stopping by the counter to say 'hi' to the lady behind it. “Hello Joan,” she said with a charming smile. “Looking lovely today.”“Hi Malvika,” Joan greeted, looking up with a smile. “It’s nice to see you. It’s being a while you came here.”“Oh yes. I went through a major change in my life, you know. Anyway, I’m here now and will probably be visiting frequently. Got any new books for me?”“Oh, we’ve got a lot.”“Oh yeah?” Malvika asked with am excited smile.“Yeah. We’ve got new crime thri
Diane stood in front of the bathroom mirror, her heart thumping wildly, her hands shaking as she unwrapped the pregnancy test packet. She lowered herself into the toilet seat, raising up her dress and pulling down her panties. Closing her eyes, she placed the pregnancy test instrument beneath and let the urine flow on it and into the toilet. Then, she placed it back on the counter and waited. Just a year ago, and some months after Diane’s kidnap, Malvika delivered her baby boy in an hospital and just as she had promised, she gave that baby to Diane and Nicholas. The baby was named Cameron Alan Langston. Some months after birthing her child, Malvika left as she had said she would and took off for Florida to continue her life despite pleas from her sisters – Natasha and Diane. Diane had been raising Cam for a year and she was enjoying every moment of it. But recently she had begun to feel feverish – vomiting all over the house. No food could stay in her belly. At first she thought it wa
A slight sound of movement outside made Diane open her eyes. The entire room was still dark as there was no space for illumination. Her hands and feet were still bound together. Her neck hurt from having bending them in one position for a very long time. The mosquitoes in the room kept biting her and the notes were painful. She had been unable to sleep for a while even with her eyes closed, so when she heard movement in front of the door, her eyes flew open. She fixed her gaze on the door, sensing movements behind it. Her heartbeat increased in fear as she was unable to tear her gaze away from the door. Her fear heightened when someone started to bang something on the door. She began to struggle with her chains, unable to move. “Help!” she yelled. “Somebody, help me!” But the banging increased, until the door was pushed open. She opened her mouth and let out a loud scream when she saw the uniformed men armed to the bones barging in, “Ahhhhhhh…….” “Ma'am, please you can calm down,” On
"Ashley?!" Nicholas exclaimed. Ashley glanced up, her eyes grief and fear stricken. She pushed at the hair that were sticking to her face because of the tears. "Nicholas," she gasped behind her cuffed hands. "Oh my God, Nicholas you are here. I missed you!" She cried. "What are you doing here, Ashley?" Nicholas asked, still shocked and confused. "How....how did you get here?" "I....I was arrested," she mumbled. "For what? How? What did you do?" He threw a series of questions at her, all of which she did not answer. He stared at her, a small frown on his face as something finally clicked. "The cops said they arrested a couple of people who turned out to be a gang. They got an address from these guys and when they got there they found.....you?" He was shocked.....and although he was able to piece it together, he was still very much confused. "I'm sorry," Ashley whispered. "For?" "What happened," she cried. "I....I didn't know at first. She didn't tell me we were going to kill her
Diane slowly opened her eyes. She let out a soft groan of pain as she tried to adjust herself on the ground. Her hands kept pulling against the cuffs. She glances around, shuffling her legs. The entire room was dark, except for the ray of light coming in beneath the door. She had spent almost two days in this hell hole that Jenny and Derek had locked her up in. Just yesterday, one of Jenny's goons had placed a call to her family, demanding a ransom. Diane let out a pant. She was feeling hungry and thirsty. Not only that, her entire body was in serious pains. Her body ached to the marrow and she had this massive headache that forced her to wince from time to time. She could not wait to get out of here, yet she had no idea how she would get out. The doors and windows were locked, her hands and feet were handcuffed and there was absolutely no way that she could free herself. Her best and only option was to wait for Nicholas to pay the ransom so she could be released. Just then, the door
“Hey,” Malvika said as she walked down the stairs tiredly. Natasha was sprawled on the couch, tired from her constant crying. Her eyes were red and her cheeks looked swollen. Malvika walked towards her and sat beside her. “Hey, are you still crying?” She asked, looking around the living room. She saw Nicholas standing by the door, talking lowly to someone on the phone. “I’m too tired to cry,” Natasha answered weakly. Her weeping had seeped out every of her energy. She pulled herself to sit up. “What do you think happened to her? She said she was going out and all of a sudden, we couldn’t find her. How did that happen?” “Okay, I need you to calm down,” Malvika said. “The cops are doing everything they can and Nicholas and I are trying our hardest best to find her. We are going to find her, okay?” Malvika tried to reassure her younger sister. She sounded sure of herself, but deep down, her insides crawled with doubt and fear. What if they were never able to find her? Was she so sure th
“Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to be possible,” Jenny says into her phone, pulling the cigarette away from her lips and blowing out a puff of smoke. She was seated on the chair, her legs crossed out in front of her as she listened to her brother ask her to come to the house. “Nick, I really appreciate the invite, but I’m sorry, I’m not going to be able to make it. And by the way, I’m really sorry about Diane.” After a while, she hung up and threw the phone on the table, letting out a sigh. “Nicholas?” Ashley asked as she flipped through a magazine. She glanced up at Jenny, raising her brow. “Yeah.” Jenny let out an exaggerated sigh. “He wants me to come over today,” she said, rolling her eyes. “I’m not going though. I’m in the middle of something,” she said, blowing out a ring of smoke while Ashley chuckled. “Why can’t we go, though?” “We?” Jenny raised a brow? “Who’s we?” she asked. “You and I of course.” “Okay cute, but he didn’t invite both of us. He invited me, his sister.
Malvika sat in front of the car with Nicholas, her nose pressed on to the window as she was deep in thoughts. Beside her, Nicholas drove as carefully as he could, the both of them thinking about Diane. He was driving her to the restaurant where Diane’s cat was found. She had an inkling of what the restaurant was or who might be behind the kidnap but she needed to confirm it first.“What are you thinking about?” Nicholas asked, breaking the silence. She pursed her lips, turning to look at him. Then, she answers, “I might know who could be Diane’s disappearance,” she answered, slowly and carefully, watching his face for any reaction. He darted a surprised glance in her direction. “Really? Who?”“You are not going to be happy about this,” Malvika answerez. She paused, before finally saying, “Jenny.”“What?!” Nicholas sharply pulled the brake of the car in shock, halting it. A loud honk resonated behind them as a car drove angrily past them. “Sorry!” Nicholas called out, before turning ba
“Any news?” Natasha asked as she descended the stairs with Alyssa behind her. Her eyes were red from tears and she rubbed her cheeks to clean them off. Malvika and Grace were seated on the couch in the living room. Olivia was spread across Grace’s leg, sleeping peacefully. They had all stayed in the living room, waiting to here from Diane but heard nothing.Malvika shook her head. “No. Mark and Nick went to the station this morning,” she said.Natasha sighed, slumping on the chair. Alyssa sat down quietly beside her. “But where did she go?”“No one knows.”“She told me she wanted to receive a phone call,” Grace informed them, rubbing her hands slowly round her daughter, Olivia’s back. “That was all. I didn’t see her again.”“Her car isn’t in the garage,” Malvika said. “So, she went with her car.”“But someone must have seen her leave.”Malvika sighed. “We didn’t and we don’t even know who to ask. Hopefully, Mark and Nicholas will come back with good news.”The four of them sat in the
A groan slipped out of Diane’s mouth. Her left leg moved a bit as she struggled to straighten her shoulders. She subconsciously tugged her hands, sensing that they were in some sort of bondage. She let out another groan, this time fluttering her eyes open slowly. Her hazy sight was, however, met with darkness. She blinked twice, glancing around but her gaze met nothing but darkness. What happened? She wondered, squeezing her eyes shut as she tried to remember what happened the night before. With her eyes still shut, an image of her standing in the living room reading Ashley’s text message. She remembered leaving the house and going to a restaurant that looked deserted and out of business. She remembered thinking she would find Ashley there. And she remembered someone hitting her head. The last thing she remembered was blacking out.Oh God.Was she kidnapped? She was kidnapped! They freaking kidnapped her!Did that happen to Ashley too? Maybe that was why she was texting her. Did the s
