Complications

TYLER POV 6

I brought my face close to her and she also did the same thing to me but suddenly we stopped when there was a sudden knock on the door.

 “Do you have expected guests?”she asked me curiously. 

I just looked at her and felt a little bit confused.My phone suddenly rang and I saw Craig calling me.I can't explain the nervousness I felt at those times.Veronica immediately walked towards the door then I answered Craig's call.

 "Hello Sir, have you received the flower yet?"he asked me.

 "Flowers? What do you mean Craig?" I asked.

When I looked back at Veronica she was carrying a large bouquet of flowers.I was shocked to see it and frowned.I immediately confronted Craig about it. 

"Why is there a flower ?! What does that mean Craig ?!" I asked emphatically. 

"I'm sorry sir, your father just ordered me. I can't do anything but follow his command" he replied.

 "What ?! Why is he doing this? Didn't I tell you that you won't say anything!" I said frowning. 

"Sir, I didn't say anything about you and Veronica but we both know he won't believe me when I tell him I don't know where you are" Craig replied. 

I just gasped at what he said.I can't quite figure out what my father's intention was to send more flowers to Veronica.I feel like he's leading me just to follow what he wants to happen and it's really annoying. 

“Thank you for the flower,I didn’t expect it,”Veronica said with a smile.

 "It's not from me," I answered seriously. 

I saw she was surprised by what I said but I just ignored her.I took more liquor and poured it into the glass to calm myself. I don't think I can give my father's expectations of me. I don't know why I still have to prove myself up to this day.

“Hey! What's wrong? Do you have a problem? ”Veronica asked.

 "Leave me alone" I answered seriously. 

"See you soon, my daughter in law,?"she said confusedly. 

I looked at her and frowned at the same time as I grabbed the Card she was holding.I just shook and sighed when I read it.She tapped me on the shoulder and sat down next to me. 

"Don't think about your father anymore. I know you don't like me.We both don't like each other but I agree to be your girlfriend" she said and I smiled sparingly at what she said.

 "Fake Girlfriend" I replied. 

"It's the same!"she said as she took a cigarette from her pocket. I saw her smile at me and I smiled back.Her mouth started to blow smoke again so I frowned while looking at her. 

“You are so serious! Do you know that smoking is a stress reliever? Try it too! ”she said. 

"No thanks" I answered seriously.

 I poured the wine into the glass and offered it to her.We had fun for a while and somehow I was relieved.We were both hit by alcohol at that time and don't know what happened next.

I just woke up facing her.I examined her beautiful face for a while.There is no doubt about the beauty she has.

"Your too beautiful to be a prostitute"I told myself.

 There I realized to myself that we are both willing to do everything for something we want to get.I couldn't help myself but smiled while thinking of it and immediately got up from bed.I left money on the small table before leaving the Hotel.

While driving along the road, I called Dr. Walter to follow up on Veronica's mother's operation. Everything went well and he assured me that he will do everything to have a successful operation. 

"Thank you for your help Dr.Walter. I will take care of everything that will be needed. Just do your part" I replied. 

After I dropped the call I also called Veronica to get her prepared for her mother’s operation.

 "Hello" I said.

 "Hey! Why didn't you wake me up?"she asked. 

"Just prepare your mother for the operation later.Go home and bring her to the St.Walter Hospital.You can use the money I give to you. Did you understand?" I said seriously to her. 

"O..Okay thank you so much"she replied obviously happy with what I said. 

Just a few moments later, I arrived at the mansion.I got out of the car and immediately walked inside.Our maids greeted me and I smiled sparingly at them.

 I thought of going into my father's room to check his condition.When I was in front of the door I heard the voices of two children playing.I slowly approached and peeked inside his room and there I saw how happy he was to see the two children playing in front of him. I felt insecure when I saw it.

I went straight to the bedroom to take a shower and get dressed because there was another meeting lined up in my schedule.I had to finish my work immediately so that I could make time for my agreement with Veronica. 

When I entered the room, I immediately removed my necktie and sat for a while on my bed and suddenly our maid Zelda came in.

 "Sir, I'm sorry for the disturbance.Your father is calling you"she said.

"Okay" I replied sparingly.

 I arranged myself and walked out of my room and entered my father's room.Immediately the two children approached me to hug and kiss me.

"Look son.It's really up to you to be a father"he said smiling.

 I shook my head at what he said and sat in front of him.I couldn't help but get annoyed with the two kids playing in front of me.I don't know why I see Steven everytime I looked at them.I just sighed and looked straight at my Father.

 "Did she like the flower I sent?"she asked with a smile. 

“Why did you do that dad?” I asked. 

"I just want to make some effort for her. I just want to let her know that she is welcome in our family"he replied smiling. 

"Dad, it's too early," I said seriously. 

"Son, I'm dying so please grant my wish" he begged me. 

"I don't want to be a bad father to you.I never wanted to hurt you but I hope you obey me if you really care about me" he added. 

I just nodded and smiled sparingly at him. The sadness was obvious in his eyes and I could clearly see how much he expected from me.I wanted to cry in front of him but I knew no man cried when he was hurt. I tried to resist the emotion I felt at those times and immediately said goodbye to him.

 "I need to go now dad" I said goodbye. 

When I came out of his room, I walked straight back to my room. I took a shower and got dressed for work. I looked at my face in the mirror for a while and adjusted my suit. When I went downstairs I met Steven.I just smiled sarcastically at him and left the mansion.Suddenly my phone rang and I answered it immediately. 

"Hello" I said.

 "We are here at the hospital and the Doctor is taking care of mom. Thank you very much and I hope her operation will be really successful,"she said. 

"Good to hear and hopefully everything will be fine" I replied.

 "Anyway, I need to go now. Bye!" I said goodbye. 

As I made my way to the company, I couldn't help but think of Veronica's mother's condition.Maybe it's because she treated me well when I went to their house, so I also wish her operation would be successful. 

Shortly after, I arrived at the company and was greeted by our employees as I entered my office.I was immediately called to the conference room to conduct the conference meeting.While in the middle of the meeting, my phone suddenly rang so all the board of directors were surprised and turned around.I immediately apologized to them and continued speaking.But just a few minutes later, my phone rang again. I shook my head and felt ashamed. 

"Excuse me" I said and immediately answered the call. 

"Can you just please stop calling me!" I said emphatically on the other line and immediately dropped the call. 

"Let's continue," I said, smiling. 

I continued my speech in front of the board of directors and our meeting went well. 

They shook my hands and said goodbye to me.After the meeting, I immediately looked at my phone and saw Veronica's texts to me.

 "Mom had a complication. I need your help please.I don't know what to do now" she texted. I was confused by the texts I read from her and quickly walked out of the office.

When I came out of the building, I immediately got in the car and quickly drove it to get to the hospital. I tried to call Veronica but I could not contact her.I also tried to call Dr. Walter but he also did not answer my calls.I could not help but think badly.A few moments later I arrived at the hospital and immediately I went inside.

 "I am looking for Dr. Walter patient" I said confused. 

"Ahm, Sir What is the patient's name since Dr. Walter has many patients" the nurse asked. I just gasped because I didn't know Veronica's mother's real name.

"Kidney transplant patient. I think she is still in the operating room now" I replied. 

"Right corner sir" said the nurse.

"Thank you,"I answered.

 I immediately walked into the right corner and saw Veronica sitting in the distance while crying.Nothing else crossed my mind but to approach and hug her.

 “What happened? Please tell me.Is she okay?”I said worriedly.

 But I did not hear any answer from her.

A few seconds later, she started to speak and I couldn't help myself but to hug her more tightly after I heard what she said.
