Answered Prayer

Veronica POV 2

I was restless while waiting outside the operating room. I just held both of my hands while praying that my mother's operation would go well.

"Lord, please don't leave my mother," I said tearfully while closing my eyes.

 Just a few moments later, a nurse came out of a room and was obviously in a hurry to run into the operating room.I immediately stood up and asked.I can't explain the nervousness I felt at those times.

"Nurse, what happened?" I answered confused.

"There was a complication in the operation. The patient's heartbeat increased. I need to go now madam" replied the nurse and hurried to run.

I immediately ran to the operating room but the whole window was closed so I couldn't see inside. All I could do at those times was cry. I immediately texted Tyler to ask for help if he could call Dr.Walter and ask what was going on in the operating room. I also dialed his number many times to call him until he answered and I was surprised by his answer.

"Can you just please stop calling me!" he shouted on the other line and immediately dropped the call.

I didn't know what to do during those hours while waiting for the Doctor to come out. My whole body was shaking and I couldn't stop crying.

"My God, I'm begging you to save my mother. I can't handle it if she leaves me" I said crying.

I called my aunt but she did not answer my calls. I did not know where to hold on at those times until someone suddenly hugged and caressed my back.

"What happened? Please tell me. Is she okay?"

Even though I haven't looked at him yet, I know it's Tyler. I was shocked when he hugged me but I couldn't help but hug him too. I needed someone to hold on to at those times. I never asked myself why he was able to hug me despite his attitude. Somehow my heart was lightened.

"I don't know what to do anymore. My mother's operation had a complication. The Doctor hasn't come out yet. Please help me get in" I told her crying. I feel that he tightens his hug on me even more.

"Don't worry, Everything will be fine. Just relax" he said calmly.

I did not answer and I saw the Doctor come out of the operating room. I immediately stood up and approached the Doctor. I saw him sigh So I was even more nervous as I waited for what he would say.

"How is my mom, Doc?" I asked worriedly.

"How is she, Dr.Walter?" Tyler also asked.

"Her heart rate suddenly increases while undergoing an operation. We were all very nervous lately. I thought I would fail you Mr. Jackson on my promise. But thank God she's safe now. You have nothing to worry about" smiling said the Doctor.

I cried and my heart jumped with joy and I hugged Tyler because of the happiness I felt. God heard my prayer.

"Thank God" smiling and crying I said.

"I told you. Everything will be fine" smiling Tyler said.

"Thank you so much" I replied smiling.

"You're welcome. I know you will help me too and your mother also deserves my help" smiling he said.

I smiled at what he said and he apologized for what he said earlier. I also apologized because I didn't know that I disturbed him in the middle of the meeting.

"It's okay. What's important is your mother is safe now" he told me.

I just smiled and soon he said goodbye after he talked to the doctor and paid all our bills at the hospital. The next day my mother woke up and I immediately hugged her but I was careful because she was just fine with the operation.

"Mom, I'm so happy because finally, your healing will continue," I told her with a smile.

"Nicky, how did you do this? How did you manage to pay all the hospital expenses? I know we can't afford to give that amount" Mom asked curiously.

"Mom, we talked about that. A charity offered it to me and I don’t want to waste the chance. Please don't think about that. Please think about yourself" I answered her seriously while holding her hand.

Nothing can match the love I feel for my Mother. I will do everything to prolong his life so that I can be with him even longer.

Mom also stayed in the hospital for a few days before the Doctor allowed her to go home. When we got home I was surprised when the door opened and I was even more surprised when I saw Tyler inside. There was a lot of food on our table and I saw Elias smiling at me. Aunt Mercy and Elias were happy to see us.

"Sister Nicky, it's so much fun today. There's a lot of delicious food on the table and Aunt is already fine too" Elias said smiling as he simply pinched the slice of meat.

I looked at Tyler because I couldn't believe what he did. I immediately talked to him about it.

"Why are you here? Are you the one who brought those foods?" I asked him.

"Yes, did you like it? Anyway, Welcome home to you Aunt" he said smiling at my mom.

I want to pull him out because maybe what else will she say to mom. Mom doesn't know anything about my job as a prostitute and I don't want her to know the truth.

"Wow, you're so generous.

How did you know that I was in the hospital and I'm out of the hospital now? "my mom asked curiously.

"Veronica told me" She replied smiling.

“Veronica? who is she?” mom asked him curiously.

“My friend, mom” I answered immediately.

My mother doesn't even know my Screen name at the Bar. She didn't ven know my real job.

“Ahm, yeah” Tyler added and the curiosity on his face was obvious.

"Okay! Thank you for the food you brought. I'm really happy and I can't help but think that maybe you're really my daughter’s boyfriend" smiling Mother said.

"mom…" I said.

"Let's eat first please, I'm hungry," Elias said.

I noticed that Tyler was just looking at Elias while he was eating and simply smiled and I can’t help but smiled too. This man is hiding his kindness.

After we ate, Tyler immediately ask my mother’s permission so that the two of us could talk. My mother immediately agreed and I seemed to know what we were going to talk about.

"I need to introduce you to my family as soon as possible. He keeps asking me about you" he said seriously.

"I know. It's obvious from your actions" I replied.

“What do you mean?” He asked curiously.

"I know you came here because of that. No problem I will help you as much as I can to pay all my debts to you" I replied.

“Great! But that doesn't mean that's the only reason why I'm here. Your mother has been good to me. She deserves it ”he said and smiled sparingly.

I smiled at what he said because all my prayers were really answered and that is to prolong my mother's life and it is because of him. I owe him everything so even if I don't agree with what he wants to happen. I can't quite imagine that I will end up being an actress to pretend even though my job is really a prostitute. 

As the days went by, I was very happy because my mother was gradually recovering from her operation. Our life became better because of the money that Tyler gave me while I was in the middle of training with my gay coach.

“Oh, girl! It shouldn't be like that. Arrange your seat ”the gay man begged me.

I sighed because it wasn't that easy to be a conservative woman.It was different from my job then. If then I had to be seductive all the time, now I have to be modest and respectful.

"I don't think I can handle it. It's tiring" I complained.

"Just stay focused, okay?" Tyler said seriously to me.

"I'm focused. I'm really having a hard time changing myself" I said and just sighed.

I saw him frown again while looking at me. The frustration was obvious on his face so I could do nothing but follow his wishes. I don't know how long I will pretend to be someone else to pay off my debt to him.

"It's also hard for me to release big money, don't make me regret please" he replied seriously.

I also failed many times in following what the gay man taught me until I learned. I was especially happy with Tyler. The joy was obvious on his face because, after a few tries, I was able to do well what I have learned.

"Perfect," he said smiling.

"I don't think Dad won't believe you," he added.

"As what you said. Let's make it work" I replied smiling.

“So I will pick you up tomorrow tonight at 7 pm, okay?” he said.

"Drey, it's up to you to fix her. I need to go now" he said goodbye.

"No problem Sir" the smiling gay replied.

When Tyler left, the gay man immediately asked me questions and I really laughed at his questions to me. I couldn't imagine myself being in the situation he was saying.

"I have a strong feeling. You will fall for each other. For sure, you like Sir Tyler right?" Drey asked me with a smile.

“What are you talking about? I said and laughed.

"It's impossible. All we have is a pure agreement" I answered his question.

"Hmm, I'll bet 10 million there," the gay man said smiling and giggling.

I shook my head at what he said and laughed because it never crossed my mind that I would fall in love with someone like him. There is nothing more important to that man than the wealth he will inherit from his father. He can't even be happy.

"But is he handsome for you?" Drey asked curiously.

"Yes, he is" I replied.

“Are you gossiping about me ?!

We were both surprised when we heard Tyler's voice from behind. When Drey and I both looked at him, he immediately approached me and I was very surprised by what he gave me.
