~You are precisely what I wanted~

Arcane POV:

I did not expect to be caught by Xavier. I hated myself for being so careless. How could I ignore the probability that my darkest secret won't come to light even though we are living under the same roof? I am such an idiot. So, I had no other choice but to admit that I liked him.

Surely, my life at Jones is going to be as awkward as sh*t.

When I went to see Mom, she was already sleeping. "Is there something wrong, Arcane?" Vincent asked me.

"No, I came to see Mom but she is sleeping. I will talk to her some other time." I smiled at him and came back to my room.

I tossed and turned the whole night. I was so embarrassed that Xavier saw that and I don't know how I am going to face him again.

Next morning; I hurriedly changed my clothes and tried to rush out of the house but Mom called me from behind. "Why are you in such a hurry? At least eat something before leaving."

My lips pursed into a thin line. I had no choice but to join them at

~I want to taste you again. Like a sin.~Arcane POV:I woke up because of the continuously ringing phone. Since it was the weekend, I planned on sleeping in today, but the caller had other plans for me. I groaned when I saw 'Abby' flashing on the screen. "Hello." I received her call half sleepy. "Don't tell me you are still in bed?" She must have guessed from my hoarse voice. I took the phone off my ear and glanced at the time, it was 9am. "Get up right this instant and I want you at the bus stop exactly in 10 minutes." She ordered. "Did you forget? We were supposed to watch a match today." "Oh yeah." I really forgot it. "Okay, let me get ready." I said to her and hung up. When she said that she would drag me to the venue, she did not mean it metaphorically. Because Abby does not know about this place and I promised her that I will tell her when it will be the right time, so she did not ask me again. Else, she would be jumping around my room now. I dragged myself out of the bed a

~I want to taste myself on your tongue.~Arcane POV:Xavier and Marcus were on fire. Those men have a great control on their nerves. I can't fathom how they can play so well amidst all the chaos. Xavier once again hit the puck and it elegantly landed inside the goal. "XAVIER! XAVIER! XAVIER!" Once again his name was being chanted like a prayer and today, I really looked at him in a new light. He glanced at me and smirked after doing a celebration with his teammates. My eyes widened. "Blink. Your eyes are going to pop out of their sockets." Abby shouted from beside me, I was still dazed. I have been noticing for a while that whenever he scores, he looks at me. I bit my lip and the hot and intense stares targeted me again. I looked around and found Ashley. She was glaring at me with those murderous eyes from the front row. "Oh God." I whimpered. She must have seen him passing stares at me. It's him who did that, she does not have to look at me with those deadly eyes.I sighed speec

~I want to do nothing but fu*k you.~Xavier POV:I have been playing hockey at the school for years but I have never seen Arcane. Or maybe I never paid attention to her. So, I did not expect Arcane to come and see my match. When I saw her sitting in the audience, warmth eloped all around me. It was a pleasant surprise and today I wanted to show her my best side. Hockey is the only thing I am good at and I wanted her to know that. Dad was also there to cheer me up and I had to be good at it today. So, I put all my heart and efforts into the game and whenever I could score a point, my sight would betray me and I would look for her. I was delighted to find her looking at me each time. However, in the middle of the game, she disappeared. I looked in the whole arena but there weren't any signs of her. That's when I lost it. I could not focus on the game anymore and our opponent team definitely took advantage of that situation. "Hey, Jones. Focus." Coach shouted at me. I inhaled sharply

~Quit playing and start loving me.~Xavier POV:First thing that I saw after arriving at the bar was her. She laughed at something which Marcus said to her. My brows slammed together as I watched them.Because it was a weekend, the place was brimming full with the people. We made our way to the corner where my team sat. "We are just a bunch of high schoolers. How did you let us in so easily?" She was asking. I could hear her through the loud music and her voice was more magnetic and melodious than the music. "Howard's cousin is an owner here." Marcus told her and her mouth turned into an 'O' at the realization. "Guess who we have here? The LOVEBIRDS." Leo shouted and I really wanted to stuff his mouth with the crackers to shut him up. I settled on the table and glanced at Arcane. Her lips were pursed into a line. "A toast to the captain." Leo raised his glass and then everyone did too. I was forced to follow them and clinked them together. "You guys really don't have to go to su

~Are you ready to come in my mouth?~Arcane POV:Maybe I shouldn't have come to the after party. During the whole time, I was awkward AF. In between Xavier's hot and intense stares and Ashley's disdainful looks... on the top of that, Marcus' unusual care, I was really uncomfortable. I tried to drink quietly but after some time, I would find myself the center of attention. However, when Xavier left with Ashley, I let out a sigh of massive relief. Although my heart was filled with jealousy as they left hand in hand together. Ashley is really cheap. I am well aware of that fact, still I can't help but be envious of her because she can be with Xavier in front of everyone while I have to admire him from afar. "Stop drinking so much. I don't even know your new place. Who will take you there otherwise." Abby reminded me and my hand on the glass halted. Instead of drowning myself into alcohol, I tried to stay sober. But soon, I started to get uncomfortable and I wanted to go back home as s

~No need to rush, when you come.~ Xavier POV: "You freaking bastard, what the hell did you just do?" The moment I returned to my room, reality hit me hard. The spell of beauty which she has casted on me, it broke down. "Oh my God." I held my head in my palms and sat at the edge of the bed. "You aren't supposed to do that with her." I tried to convince myself but the beast inside me was awakened. Her soft touch is still alive on my fingers. Now, I want to feel her skin and taste on my lips. Is it too much to ask for? I took a cold shower on a cold and breezy autumn night. However, I needed that desperately. There was nothing else that could solve the problem which is going on with my lower body. I dried my hair with the towel and made an attempt to sleep. But the whole night passed as I tossed and turned around. In the morning, I took out the black jeans and a black hoodie and changed into them. My head was heavy. I don't know whether it was from drinking or from not sleeping

Maybe I shouldn't have told him the truth. I should have never let him know that I like him. Man, he is taking advantage of my feelings and using them against me. I sipped on the milkshake and I stared into space. "What are you thinking so hard about?" Abby narrowed her eyes and asked me. I sighed. I want to tell her everything but this isn't easy. I couldn't bring myself to tell her the truth. "Nothing." I forced a smile and tried to take interest in what she was saying. "Okay, listen to me." Abby clasped her hands together while her big and round eyes twinkled, "Next week, there is a homecoming party and we are going to it." She told me. "I am not sure, Abby-" "Stop right there." She instantly said and the rest of the things which I was about to tell her.... they died down in my throat. "You better don't give me a

She glared at me and pushed the door of another shop. Her silence was louder than her words. She wasn't going to let go of me until she would get us dresses. I sighed and followed her inside. "I am trying to make you a lady of the eve by getting you the most beautiful dress." She finally revealed her intentions. I glanced at her with nothing but pure shock. Quietly, I stood in front of her. Her hands that were roaming through the racks of the dresses, stopped. "What?" She read my mind and asked. "You know what, you are going insane these days." I commented and rolled my eyes at her, "I don't have a date and you want me to become the most beautiful and pa

~Pretty please.~Arcane POV: The room felt different, like a chapter closing. Tomorrow, I'd be on a plane, leaving this place behind. I couldn't predict when I'd return, and it certainly wouldn't be anytime soon. My gaze swept across the room, each corner holding a memory. Here was where Xavier and I shared that kiss, a sweet moment in time. There, he lounged on my bed, playfully teasing me. And it was this very room where he saved me from my darkest moments, bringing me back from the edge. Tears threatened, but I blinked them away, resolute. I zipped up my suitcase, sealing in the fragments of the past. The room stood still, a silent witness to a part of my life that was coming to an end. I took one last look, trying to etch every detail into my memory. Then, with a final sigh, I turned away, ready to face the unknown that awaited me. And then there was Xavier, a presence that still lingered in the recesses of my thoughts, despite the silence that had settled between us. As I watched my classmates buzz with anticipation, their excitement mingling with nervous energy, I couldn't help but feel a sense of detachment. It was as though I was moving through the motions, the weight of the past still clinging to me. The ceremony itself was a blur of gowns and caps, a sea of faces that seemed to meld together. The applause, the speeches—they all felt like distant echoes, reverberating in a space that I no longer fully occupied.
