Chapter 8
Sansa's PovWhen time froze for some, their hearts raced faster, and every second felt like a decade, with worry on their minds and 1000 thoughts flying through their heads.I kept asking myself questions for which I had no answers to calm myself down since my curiosity was unabated and I wanted to know more about the predicament I had found myself in.The conclusion I came to was that it was not the past, I was certain, I was seeing a dream, my father had never died before, he died on the day I turned 14, the same day my mother died years before. When an unknown woman was crying and screaming miserably and no one dared to interrupt her, a younger version of my father lay unmoving on the floor. My eyes welled up with tears, the same emotions I felt when I lost my father for the second time; my broken heart had been wounded by the agony of losing my father so long ago, and now I was facing the death of my father once more. I kept my cool while trying hard not to cry.Even though it was a dream, I was curious as to why I was in there. What part did I play there? I was trying to find out how I ended up here. How long will the dream be carried on?"Open your eyes, Raven," the woman's agonizing voice broke my thoughts, and my gaze was drawn to her as she sobbed more loudly.Grandpa Falkor, who had been directing the gun at both of the ruthless Alphas and was unconscious of my father's condition when his entire attention was on Samuel and Xavier, gazed back at her, shocked.Grandpa could no longer control his steps because he had been disregarding my father's presence since he arrived. When he was walking toward my father's dead body, the gun fell to the floor. He was the same, as he always pretended he didn't care for my father and his son.On the occasion of the funeral, Grandpa Falkor tried not to cry, but he couldn't stand the pain and burst into tears, crying for hours in the rain over his beloved son's grave; he was the saddest person at the funeral because he had lost the most valuable person in his life."No, no, no, this can't happen," hurried Grandpa Falkor shouted. When it came to his son, his heart was about to burst, his eyes were wide open, and he couldn't take a step back. He forgot his hatred and raced over to his son uncontrollably. In an instant, Xavier leaned down to check on my father, placing his palm on his heart. When Grandpa arrived, he shoved Xavier aside."Stay away from my son, you filthy dog," upset Grandpa yelled angrily.Xavier did not respond, but instead placed his palm on my father's chest as if he was analyzing my father's condition if he was curious about what was going on within his body at the time."I said! Get off my son, you jerk!" yelled Grandfather, grabbing his collar and forcing Xavier to stand."Don't dare to touch him, I warn you; I will forget what breed you are, and I will kill my enemy and give them a slow death until they beg me to let them die and kill them. They chose death over being alive around me, " aggressive Grandpa Falkor was threatening Xavier without hesitation with his menacing eyes and rage.Xavier remarked calmly in response to the bleeding hunter's threat. "You are wasting time threatening me when I can use this time to save your son.""Don't trust him, he is not worthy of trust," the woman advised Grandpa, who was looking upset and perplexed as he saw my father on the floor while still clutching Xavier's collar.Xavier was slowly withdrawing Falkor's hand from his collar when his grip began to slip. "It's not about trust, it's about the deal we made."When the woman knew that Hunter Falkor would be dazzled by Xavier's words and become weak, she stood up."I don't care about the deals, but I can't let him touch Raven," she screamed angrily, caressing her tummy."Nobody wants to regret later," calm Xavier taunted, "so why did you choose the difficult path?""I might regret touching Raven with your filthy hands," she teased back."You! Stay back, he's my son," an irritated Grandpa Falkor told the woman."And he is the father of my child, you can't trust that dog," she exclaimed to Grandpa Falkor."Do you believe that only words can work here? All of this has happened because of you; you are the reason my son left me and is now losing his life," angrily Grandpa Falkor yelled."How long will you spread hatred? He had no choice but to leave you because you drove him to; your hatred damaged everything; you can't blame me for your actions," she raged."You and your baby deserve to be hated; you don't deserve to live, you bit**" He was enraged, and his hatred was clear; if he let his monster awake, he might kill that woman."This baby is not mine alone, but your son is the father, so think before you speak because I would not sit back quietly," she was attempting to control her rage."Do anything to protect my son," Grandpa Falkor pleaded to Xavier, "I would give you whatever you want for sure, but if my son dies, forget about our deal.""Don't touch him, I'm warning you," the woman whispered to Xavier as she yanked his hand away from Father Raven."I'm not going to eat your husband; I'm just trying to help," angrily Xavier stated."Staying away from family matters would be a great help," she raged."Family? He is my son, and I will make decisions for him," sarcastically Grandpa Falkor mocked the women with hatred."I can't let him be touched by a filthy dog in the name of help," the woman argued as an emotional roller coaster drove her insane."Stop calling me a dog!! You don't know who you're dealing with," angry Xavier said, looking into her eyes and trying not to hurt her."You focus on the job you're here for, and I'll handle her," upset Grandpa Falkor replied solemnly to Xavier. When Xavier crouched down to check on my father's dead body, the woman screamed uncontrollably and tried desperately to pull Xavier away from my father, but Grandpa Falkor gripped her hand tight and refused to let her go."Stop acting like they're innocent; they look for any opportunity to kill humans; how could you even let him touch your son? You are selfish, you are heartless," the woman replied harshly.Xavier ripped my father's shirt off. I spotted the same half-moon-shaped pendant around my father's neck, and I felt the same identical pendant around my neck that he gave me on my fifth birthday. He closed his eyes and placed his hand on his heart, whispering some bizarre phrases. When I looked back, Samuel was already gone; he had fled since he understood it was not the proper time to fight. Grandpa Falkor held the woman's hand, preventing her from disturbing Xavier, who was whispering strange phrases and opening his full yellow eyes. That scared me because I had never seen him like that before. When the lightning struck the sky, my father's body began to quake. The temperature rose by the second, and I began to tremble in the cold.At the time, the situation was unusual and supernatural; a bolt of lightning struck my father's body, causing him to leap in pain."I told you not to trust him!" yelled the woman, "He's causing him pain!"Grandpa Falkor had not anticipated this level of torment and was still pondering his next action."Stop him, he is hurting Raven, and he will kill Raven, please stop him right now," the woman implored Grandpa Falkor, who remained baffled.Xavier's whispers became louder, and the lightning struck my father's body twice. My heart became heavy as If that was reality; my emotions were out of control. I screamed uncontrollably as I watched my father tremble in pain. "Stop doing it, I said stop hurting him.""Can't you see he's torturing Raven?" He is exacting his vengeance on you by injuring your son in front of you," the woman said, completely convincing the merciless hunter after making a good point. All of the lightning vanished from the dark sky, the environment returned to normal, Xavier's eyes returned to normal irritating and my father remained still on the floor. The complete stillness was irritating at the time when we were all waiting for Xavier to speak.Xavier murmured, his face despondent. "I tried my best, but---"Angry Grandpa Falkor let her go and charged in my direction."You cretin!"Grandpa Falkor's hands were going to grip my neck, which might be for Xavier because I was invisible, when the entire scenario disintegrated to dust in front of my eyes, and all I could see was the silent blackness.Thank you for reading the 2nd book of the " Under The Moonlight: Alpha's Bride " series đâ¤ď¸
Chapter 9Sansa's Pov Hello! Hello? Is anybody out there?Helloooo? Can anybody hear me? My voice reverberated, and I could hear my three voices back; I became stranded; now what would I face? I couldn't think straight after hours of walking and running, trying to find a way out; my hope was fading. I was hurrying, breathing heavily, the stillness was killing me, I was alone in the "nothing zone," the blank and black everywhere, I began to look for a way out, but no matter where I went or how long I ran, all I could see was blackness everywhere.I remembered standing in the freezing woodland, staring at my father's lifeless body, another trauma I was experiencing as Xavier was torturing my father. Even my subconscious mind understood I was watching a nightmare, but the human heart inside my chest generally reacted like humans. I lived my entire life among humans while my father sheltered me from the underworld; he may have already known about the awful realities of the underworld
Chapter 10 Sansa's POV The Pronouncement of Wonder? That curse law that I was suffering from, Xavier claimed me as his bride, how could he make another contract under the same law? According to the law of the pronouncement of wonder, only one bride can be claimed once in a lifetime, and no member of the Oak pack would create any other connection besides his bride. In the Oak pack tradition, the claimed bride would be more prized than any true mate link, although other packs valued the real mate relationship.Because of Grandpa Falkor's surprising disclosure, Xavier turned to face him, and the table appeared to turn. Xavier looked speechless. When Grandpa Falkor seemed to be in command of the situation. Grandpa Falkor remarked solemnly. "I offered you the pronouncement of wonder." The terrified pregnant woman gingerly rose to her feet, putting her stomach with one hand and experiencing pain in her injuries."Wait, what are you saying? Are you even in your right mind?" The woman wa
Love Is A CurseChapter 11 Sansa's POV "Mother." "Mom." "Mama." I was speaking to her, and the silence broke my heart. "I'm sorry, but," my mother Lucinda replied, her voice shaking.Grandpa Falkor's attention went to her, and he heard something from her that he hadn't expected."Claiming by the brutal, merciless, cursed alpha, my child does not deserve that," she murmured helplessly."Did my son deserve the state he's in today?" Grandpa Falkor inquired regretfully. My mother shook her head, trembling, and crying. "It's my fault." When Grandpa Falkor fought to contain his emotions with a heavy heart."Raven would have been living his normal happy life without me if we hadn't met, not by fate, not by chance, we both would not have been suffering," she burst out crying."Mom," my voice never reached her, but I wanted to talk to her, to console her when I sat next to her. Seeing tears pour from her huge eyes as she regretted meeting my father."You will only lose your son; I will l
Chapter 12 Sansa's POV My childhood home was in the heart of the city, and I spent my days with my father and grandfather, just like any other teenager.Living among humans, unconscious of my true origin, I began to notice changes in my body when I was 13, I began to detect new kinds of aromas from afar, and I began to run quicker than usual, human murmurs I could hear from afar.Things were never the same when I was changing; it was part of our lives; nothing ever remains the same, things change, and our bodies, minds, lifestyle, thoughts, and choices change through time; I used to think and try to accept the strange as ordinary.I had no one to confide in regarding my illness, which included nightmares, concerns, anxiety, and loneliness, among other things, and I never spoke honestly to my father about it.When I entered the house on my 14th birthday, I noticed that not everything was in its proper place. Everything had been destroyed.Windows that had previously afforded a glimpse
Chapter 13 Sansa's POVMy mother yanked Xavier's hand away from her neck without hesitation as the conversation heated up."You don't know who you're dealing with," struggling to suppress his rage, Xavier muttered."You will know by the time, I will make sure, trust me," she stated confidently, teasing him."Why am I the only one who is clueless here?" Grandpa Falkor inquired as to when he took their first step toward them."This isn't fair, I finished the deal, his breathing is stable, he'll wake up by any time, his wounds will heal by then, and he'll be healthy again, but that seemed you have changed your mind," when Grandpa Falkor could hear him again, Xavier inquired my mother curiously."You cursed Raven, if I had known you used Rigurlic to save him, I would have let him die like that," she declared fearlessly, looking into his eyes."You were not ready, and now you have changed your mind, the deal is over, and I ----" she dared to slash Xavier in half."Saving and cursing are no
Chapter 14 Sansa's POV "I did not intend to kill you or cheat you in any way, I have never done that, the deal was fair from the start but things did not go as planned, I know, it happens sometimes, another deal we made The Pronouncement of Wonder I offered in exchange for saving my son," solemnly Grandpa Falkor stated.Grandpa Falkor was being watched by Xavier and my mother, and we were all attempting to guess his next move. He threw away the gun and began to light the candles throughout the place. "I would fulfill the promise I made to you," his voice skeptical, Grandpa Falkor stated solemnly.Grandpa Falkor had been desperate for Xavier's blood just seconds before, but now he was calm and ready to finish the bargain. What caused him to alter so abruptly, we were all inquisitive about what was going on in his head. When the candles lit up the room, Grandpa Falkor shut out the electric lights.Nothing could stop that relationship from being formed now that the time had come. No ma
Chapter 15Sansa's POV_Unexpectedly_Grandpa Falkor fired a shot at Xavier. As a silver bullet from Grandpa Falkor's revolver created a small innocuous scratch right side of Xavier's shoulder and passed to the young werewolf behind him, our eyes were wide open, our breath held, and our stunned faces.A teenage werewolf who had been standing by Father Raven's side, secretly attempting to harm Father Raven with his claws, was now on the ground after being shot in the chest. Our attention was drawn to the young werewolf who was trembling in misery and dying slowly. Mother Lucinda, me, and Xavier were astounded by Grandpa Falkor's sharpness when none of us saw it coming.Grandpa Falkor explained. "I'm not putting my head into the lion's mouth; I'm distracting the predator from its prey." Mother Lucinda took a position next to Father Raven, and her protective instincts heightened. Grandpa Falkor and Xavier stiffened their muscles in preparation for the impending battle.Outside, members o
Chapter 16 Sansa's POV "A guest with a dirty tongue equals a snake with venom. I did not force you to stay, but you chose to stay. Now let me do the honors of roasting you, I mean hosting you," savage hunter Falkor teased the Darkfur pack as he aimed the rifle at Samuel and blew cigar smoke in his face. When he was the sole insane hunter, Falkor was a nightmare for the entire werewolf pack. He was a famous lone wolf. How is it possible for a human to be fearless? He intimidated the ten werewolves as he stood alone among them. When they were all trapped, their hearts were in their throats. Samuel murmured shakily, "Stop, Falkor, you can't do that.""You mouse tried to kill my son, how dare you," Hunter Falkor said angrily at them. His harsh, biting voice made their hearts race and their palms shake."He was never a target, but he came between me and Lucinâ" Samuel was interrupted in the middle by Hunter Falkor."Cut the crap, you 3rd class Romeo. You still don't know who you're fighti
Chapter 72 The figure emerged from the shadows, acquiring shape gradually in the soft moonlight. I breathed a sigh of relief as the mysterious presence solidified. It was Levine, his face solemn and sad. My stress dissipated when I recognized him. I couldn't help but smile. "You know Xavier married Marina," I said Levine, a smile on my lips. His response was regretful, and his voice was heavy with disappointment. "Are you truly content?" Levine queried, his face betraying his anguish."Of course," I said firmly, my excitement obvious. "Finally, he has Marina by his side, the one he loves, andâ"Levine spoke before I could finish, his words cutting through my excitement. "You should not be happy about it. Xavier didn't marry Marina to get away from you. He did it to keep you close, to keep you close to him forever.""What exactly do you mean?" I inquired, my perplexity growing.Levine disclosed a shocking reality to me.
Chapter 71 The voice of the Unknown Pack Leader trembled as he said what we were all thinking. "How on earth is this even possible?"As he met eyes with the Unknown Pack Leader, Levine's expression was a mix of rage and perplexity. "What are you doing here?"As we all watched the unimaginable unfold in front of us, the crowd began to murmur in a mixture of fascination and shock."I never send my guests away empty-handed, and I always offer them with enough amusement to remember for a lifetime," said Xavier with a sly grin to the Unknown Pack Leader.Members of the unknown group began brandishing their firearms and knives, bracing themselves for a fight.Levine, still stunned, turned to Xavier for answers. "What on earth is going on, Xavier?""I invited them here," said Xavier quietly. "They've come to pay the price for causing you pain."Levine's attention switched to me, his eyes inquisitive. It was a confusin
Chapter 70 As he continued to treat my wound, Xavier's fingers moved gently. "However, it is sometimes at these unexpected moments that we discover something wonderful."My cheeks flushed, and I averted my gaze, trying to disguise my emotions. "You're a philosopher, aren't you?"He leaned in closer, his words low and heartfelt. "Only when I'm with someone who changes my perspective on the world."When our gazes locked, the world around us seemed to fade away. The unpleasantness of the circumstance had evolved into a common understanding. He was different from the Xavier I knew in the present; he was kind, and he treated me properly although Xavier never treated me well in the present, not once.Xavier's words poured over me like a calm ocean wind, drawing me closer with each word. His eyes, as deep and tempting as the great sea, enslaved me. Frozen in a moment, the world around us seemed to melt away."Perhaps you're he
Chapter 69 Xavier made a quick and smooth approach. He approached my side with almost unreal slowness, every fraction of a second stretching into an eternity amid battle. His strong and soothing hand wrapped around my waist, drawing me in with an intimacy that sent thrills down my spine. Our bodies squeezed and merged. I could feel his heartbeat, a steady, repetitive beating that reverberated deep within me.My hair swirled through the air as he clutched me close. He quickly shielded me from harm's way after sensing the threat behind me that I had missed. A whispered promise of protection among the chaos. My eyes widened as I saw a horrific sight in front of us: a demon from the gigantic demon army, its body covered in the awful color of fresh blood. Its razor-sharp teeth and a crimson-stained sword made me tremble.I realized something in that heart-stopping moment. Xavier had guarded me from this terrifying peril, a brave deed hidden from view. He had put his own life in danger to
Chapter 68 Xavier, the calm voice amid the turmoil, interrupted. "Gentlemen, we must find a solution to close these mistrust and resentment gaps."Anthony, evidently irritated, fired back at Falkor. "Despite spending years hiding in the shadows, you appear remarkably self-assured, Falkor."Falkor, unfazed by Anthony's insults, reacted with a smug grin. "But, my darling vampire, the shadows frequently hold the most valuable secrets."The chamber became tenser with each exchange, weighted with hostility and the weight of history. Xavier's patience remained steadfast, a credit to his leadership. "Enough of this, you two. We are up against a shared foe who threatens us all. Isn't it time to set aside old grudges for the greater good?"Anthony's rage, a boiling tempest within, found expression in a final, cutting sentence. "I'm eager to work with anyone who sees that the past belongs in the past."Michael's voice trembled with real e
Chapter 67 My gaze stayed riveted on a heartbreaking scene amidst the upheaval and confusion that engulfed the battlefield. As three merciless Demons closed in on him, Xavier, the strong Alpha, confronted his imminent destiny with a courageous attitude. The Oak pack members and Vampires who surrounded us echoed my sense of helplessness, their features carved with dread in the face of an unbeatable foe.A revolver sat dormant in my grasp, its promise for deliverance thwarted by my hesitation. Though my heart desired to change the path of history, changing the past and the future, the intricate web of fate held me hostage. A bitter regret passed through me: if circumstances had permitted, I could have stood as Logan's beloved, free of Xavier's claim. If Xavier died here, he wouldn't be present to claim me, and the pronouncement of wonder law that united us would stay unformed. His death would not result in Levine's death, saving him from a gruesom
Chapter 66"But be warned, I shall brook neither violence nor the stain of inappropriate behavior," retorted Xavier, his voice an adamant assertion. "Your home will be comfortable, but keep in mind that any irresponsible activity that leads to self-destruction will be met with rapid resolution. I hope you're not going down the same foolish path and make no silly mistakes as previously."My presence seemed to break through the curtain of their conversation. Elodie's eyes met mine, causing my heart to race and leading me to take two steps back, covered in instinctual unease."The journey ahead has many uncertainty for you," said Elodie, her voice laced with mystique reaching my ears. "There will be decisions to make, ones that will carry the weight of life and death, salvation, and sacrifice. You will face the most intricate issues to authenticate your way through these trials. I sense a stroke of luck and an unknown source with mysterious energy leading you
Chapter 65Adam's watery eyes welled up as he began, his voice slightly shaking, "These times hold an extreme sensitivity." Towering darkness created by the invading dark army has sparked a desperate desire for salvation in everyone's hearts. Who, in the face of such impending danger, would dare to trust that their own pack would come to their aid? My mistake was a lack of faith, a failure to appreciate the breadth of your dedication."Xavier's words were gentle, and they could heal even the most broken hearts. "Buddy," he muttered, a delicate breeze carrying his words like a whisper, "In this struggle, I stand here not for myself, but as a protector for every soul among us. Our ties will stand the test of time."A stark difference emerged between the Xavier of old and the Elder Phycho Xavier who stood before me now, a tapestry constructed from two distinct periods of his life. Young Xavier wore his heart on his sleeve, drowning in sentiments and emotions.
Chapter 64As the first shock wore off, the Oak pack members began to feel uneasy. Their expressions conveyed uncertainty, mistrust, and residual animosity. Nonetheless, their devotion to Xavier and the exigency of the circumstance held them hostage.Xavier, the enigma that he was, stood before us, a light of unexpected hope. He was noted for making decisions that challenged convention. This night was no exception, with a gesture that could determine our collective fate.We were about to embark on a risky adventure that would test not only our strength but also our potential for change and progress, with the enemy-turned-ally at our side.In a world on the verge of disaster, Xavier's decision rang out like a clarion call, reverberating through the hearts of all who witnessed it. The old fights would become legends, replaced by a new story of togetherness, teamwork, and unrelenting will to confront the evil that threatened to destroy us all.
