Are humans really as oblivious as the Dragons think or not? Share your guesses in the comments
"Lily baby, what are you doing up? You should be resting, it's too early." Elijah tried to change the topic and failed miserably in front of his stubborn younger child. "How do you know anything about Kate?" Dom asked sternly. Liliana, however, unfazed, entered the room and sat down yawning, "Nana said a few things last night when she came to say goodnight." "She shouldn't have." Muttered Dom as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Elijah placed a hand on his shoulder to warn him so as to not make Liliana feel left out. "Why? Is a fire in a shop in the town square supposed to be a secret, Brother?" Dom stood up, still not over his sister's attempt to cause trouble between him and his wife. Intentional or not, it still happened and Dom wasn't the forgiving type. Without a word, he left the room after motioning for Iris to follow. When only Elijah and Liliana remained, he tried to coax his daughter out of the investigation while trying not to let it show, "Lily dear, the matters are
That night's meeting was tense. It had so many revelations yet raised so many new questions. Facts like some anti-shifter operations were at work by humans, were revealed. And that meant some humans were not as oblivious as expected. Dom was the tensest of all. He hadn't spoken a word since the meeting had begun. Iris, along with Elijah and the rest of them, had started to get worried about him. But Freddie reassured her, "He is always like that when something turns up. In our meetings in the past, he always went silent until the very end, listening and thinking. Until he speaks and usually a perfect solution or plan is ready. Don't worry, he is cooking up our way out. Let him be." And they all let him be until the last guy sat down after presenting radio evidence of Miss Kate's connection to Y and giving his theory about it. That is when, after a minute, Dom spoke. He didn't look up at anyone but his tone didn't leave any room for discussion, proving that his decision was final a
Dom was startled as he stopped immediately. He didn't know what had come over his mate. He knew what she was going through was not normal for her species but she was taking it very nicely until the convulsions began and then the mantra. That is when he realized what was going on and his heart ached for her as his anger reached new limits at Y for hurting his mate to the point of no release or freedom, anywhere, anytime. He hated seeing her writhing like that, terrified of what might be done to her, apologizing for nothing and begging for mercy. It was awful and he needed to snap her out of it immediately. He remembered Mage Master giving some powdered spelled herbs to Iris to calm her down magically in case she lost control ever or found her temper too strong to handle or simply to ease her mind enough to sleep to fight insomnia. He jumped to get the herbs and threw a handful of powder right into her sobbing face, as she began to pause crying and began coughing instantly. Something
The word had spread. Y was expected to make every attempt to stop the procession in the evening. All the shifters across the world were made aware and were welcomed to join the crowning of the next Alpha king of the shifters. Coronation was sacred to all shifters and was supposed to be done at the ancient ruins of the Temple of The Gods from where the first shifters were said to have originated. They were in the very North, near the pole, and hadn't been used since Elijah was crowned, but after he chose to sleep, the magical crown along with all the rest of the coronation stuff was buried with him to be dug out once the new Alpha King ever emerged. The day had been agitated; everyone was on edge. Dom and Iris had to retrieve their to-be crowns from the sleeping caves of their predecessors because they were magically sealed in and only someone worthy could retrieve them. This was a task that they had to do themselves. No one could serve them the crowns. They had to earn them themselv
Everything was ready. Everyone waited anxiously. Iris had been back for an hour and was getting ready for the coronation. The chest had been opened by her own blood in the tiny bowl-like structure on the ancient chest's lid that absorbed it and opened using the magic in it. It indeed had contained a gorgeous crown embellished with gemstones she couldn't even name. The crown was magical on its own but the cloth that it was placed on seemed even more magical as it survived the flux of time for hundreds of centuries. It was the robe of the Alpha Queen that the first one ever had worn. Iris was overwhelmed at the sight of everything, including the ancient Queen's bracelet and a vial of the blood of the Alpha Queen before her, Dom's mother. But despite all that, Dom hadn't returned. Everyone had started to get anxious. After the success of the rituals, nobody expected Dom to take so long to return with the King's chest. He was expected to be the first one to arrive. Iris kept reaching
Now it was time to crown the Alpha King and Queen. It was a huge deal and no one knew what type of magical chain reaction was to be expected as a result of the crowning, since the last crowning was more than three thousand years ago, when Elijah had married Dom's mother and Dom wasn't even born yet. Elijah had told his experience multiple times now, but after all this time, who knew what changes awaited them? Thus, he first picked the crown from its chest and placed it on Dom's head and then picked the other one to be placed on Iris' head. This is when the magic worked. All the people in the audience, even non-dragons like Clara, felt a wave-like magical tide wash over them as Dom and Iris looked forward, their necks balancing the heavy crowns. It was a pretty sight as well as a very powerful one. This was the reason why everyone had come to attend the coronation at such short notice. The magic tide was a form of unification that joined everyone to the allegiance of the new Alpha
It had been almost a year since Alfonso Dominic McBlaze and his mate and wife, Iris Maeve McBlaze, had sat on the ancient thrones and worn the crown of Alpha King and Queen of all shifters. Waai had strangely been quiet, and all of their enemies seemed to have gone silent too. But it was only a matter of time that whatever was brewing finally boiled and came to the surface, and everyone knew that. This is why they had spent the whole year traveling around the world and making friends and accepting allegiance from more vampires, witches, dragons, and some rare shifter species like Fox-shifters and Bear-shifters, who had been thought to have gone extinct centuries ago. There were two sides now. Everyone was either on Dom and Iris' side or fighting beside Waai, who hadn't, suspiciously enough, made any move in the whole year. Elijah had made up his mind to go back to sleep after the war was over and Lady Marie had already gone to sleep a few months ago. Her feeble body had started to
The dragon couple weren't shocked to find Y's werewolves. Most of the werewolves on the planet worked for him. But Nora was nonetheless surprised to see the ruthless guy she had once worked beside, calling himself the Alpha of the pack. At last, she remembered he was Waai's delta, with no particular pack but working wherever and however Waai asked him to. Freddie tried to calmly tackle the situation, according to the plan, say what they came to say, and in case of a positive or negative response, withdraw without violence. They did not want to attract Waai's attention to their current location where their baby was sleeping a couple of hours' drive away along with the pregnant Alpha Queen. "Hi, I am Freddie. We have come here-" "Shut it, Dragon!" Alaric growled with an expression like the last word left a bad taste in his mouth. "Nora! please ask your pet to not make matters any worse than you've already made by coming into the wolves' den." Freddie was about to give an enraged resp
