The Unspoken Truth

Sitting down in the cosy living room after packing Elena's lunch, I couldn't help but watch her as she carefully selected her outfit for the day. The morning sunlight streamed through the lace curtains, casting a warm glow on her sweet features which was just the replica of the teenage me. My heart swelled with love for my daughter—my precious Elena. She is all I have in this world, being a single mom wasn't easy at all, especially in a society that often felt like a men's world. Elena had warned me against packing up lunch for her. "I am no longer a kid mom, and I am in college now." she will say. But what can I do? I guess it's true what they say about old habits dying hard. I just can't see myself stopping, nothing brings me more joy than making lunch for that rebellious daughter of mine.
