Aurora’s POV
“Ahh…” I gasped, turning around to see the Beta’s son, Elias. “Where are you headed, Aurora? You didn't even notice me.” He said, sounding a bit annoyed as he dragged me even further and I leaned into his arms. I wanted to push him away, repulsed by his sudden touch and his force but I couldn't or else, I would raise concerns not only from the guests but also from the Pack elders. Even Sienna had to calm herself, so she wouldn't react badly to him. “I am sorry, I was distracted…” I whispered, shaking my head to get rid of the invasive thoughts toward him. I gently loosened his grip around my arm but in the next second, he held on tighter. “Tell me, what were you thinking? Us? Our wedding?” Elias asked, his eyes shining mischievously. Oh, right, I was engaged to Elias, and our marriage, which was arranged by the Pack elders would be happening soon. And even though I tried to forget about Kieran and focus on Elias, I just couldn't. He didn't have that same grip Kieran had over me. Furthermore, Elias was too aggressive, just like now. “Aurora, are you listening to me?” He snapped and I turned my head to him, nodding at him. “Yeah…” I stuttered. “Our wedding is coming up soon and it is a thing of joy.” My tone was awkward and Elias noticed however, he chose not to dwell further on the discussion and I let out a sigh of relief. I looked all around, checking for Camilla but I could see her already engulfed in a dance with her mate. I let out a sigh, wishing I had a fated mate as well. Better still, Alpha Kieran could become my mate. And while Elias started to ramble on and on about himself, my eyes wandered off to where Kieran was. He stood out, amidst the crowd with everyone wanting to speak to him. Women swarmed around him and from the bottom of my heart, I felt jealous. Just if I could talk to him and touch him as freely as those daring women. I would at least make some progress with him… “Aurora!” Elias’ sharp voice cut into my ears again and I groaned slightly before turning to look at him. “Huh?” I answered, my brows arched in question. “I was asking if you dressed so sexily for me tonight…” His eyes trailed to my chest, with a suggestive look in them. “You look so beautiful, I feel like covering you up, so I could feast on you alone…” His words caused me and Sienna to cringe inwardly and she immediately asked me to get away from him. But I couldn't help but lash out. “Elias! Stop!” I snapped. He looked at me in shock, knowing I would never snap at him that way normally. But this time, it was different. “If you have such thoughts, you may need to use some self-control until our wedding night. Remember, we can’t have anything to do together. Got it?” I asked but I didn't even wait for him to speak before turning around to leave. I wanted to get away from him as soon as possible and I even entertained the idea of telling the elders that my soon-to-be husband repulsed me. But I couldn't. I was too powerless to go against them. Blindsided by anger, I didn't notice the person who was just a few meters away from me. Not until I heard the people around greeting and bowing at him. “Alpha!” They greeted and my gaze was drawn to him again. Once again, the world stopped around me as I felt his intense gaze on me too. We stood, with a little distance between each other. For the first time, the Alpha looked at me for longer than a minute. Was he awestruck by my beauty just like Camilla had said? Or was he– “Let’s greet the Alpha!” Elias came to my side again, taking me out of my fantasies and I groaned in displeasure. He wound his arm around my waist and I had to take a deep long breath to calm myself, so as not to throw his hand off me. He led me straight to Alpha Kieran and Elias bowed while I stood stiff. Now that I was closer to him and he still had his eyes on me, my nervousness came back like a rushing wind. I suddenly did not know what to do. But then his thick and enchanting voice gave me a direction. “Little girl, have you been well?” He asked a hint of a smile on his face which vanished in the next second, replaced by a stern gaze. I quickly snapped to my senses. “Yes, Uncle Kieran. Welcome back home.” I smiled, uneasily and then bowed slightly. My heart pounded rapidly and I silently hoped he wouldn't detect my heart racing. As I straightened my back, Elias tightened his grip on me, “Alpha, I am sure Aurora has not informed you of the upcoming union, right?” “Union?” Alpha Kieran frowned in confusion. “Yes! Aurora and I will be getting married soon. It’s good that you are back, so you can oversee our ceremony...” Elias’ voice was loud, as he continued to ramble, drawing everyone’s attention. But Kieran went quiet, he looked at me, still confused by what he heard. But aside from confusion, his brows knitted and displeasure crossed his eyes. Was he annoyed about my union? “Alpha, you should choose a date for us–” “I need to go. Have a fun night partying...” Kieran suddenly cut Elias off, turning around to leave before anything else. His change in mood was too sudden. Was he angry that he wasn't consulted about my marriage as a guardian? At the back of my mind, I hoped he didn't want Elias and me to be together because he wanted me… “Elias…” I whispered, peeling his hand off me. “I will be right back. I need to touch up my makeup!” I found a way to escape Elias while I watched Kieran walk out of the ballroom. I quickly sneaked after him, making sure no one saw me following after the Alpha. I followed his scent, comparing it to the one in my dream and as it went straight to my brain, I felt intoxicated, craving for more. Alpha Kieran’s back was like a beacon of light I couldn't let go of. I followed him into the dark night, far away from the ballroom, but suddenly he disappeared. “Huh?” I gasped, running straight in the direction he walked in. How could he just vanish? I wanted to call out to him but suddenly, I felt a large hand on my mouth, and in the next second, I was dragged into a dark corner. My chest collided with a hard one. It was Kieran, pressing my small body into his large one.Kieran’s POV “Union…” That word kept ringing in my head as I turned away from Aurora and Elias. It was unexpected and I couldn't decipher if I was angry because the elders didn't consult me before making that decision or I just didn't like the sight of her with the Beta’s son. She was just a girl when I left and now, she was being forced into marriage. At the war front, I wrapped everything up so quickly because I wanted to come home to see my little girl. Even though I never had so many interactions with her, at the back of my mind, I would always recall the little girl who was always in my line of sight. She seemed to appear anywhere I turned or went to, except the war front. There was no way I didn't notice I caught her gaze every single time. And now, I couldn't even have a say, in choosing the best man for her. After all, I left the Pack in the hands of the elders and they had done whatever they dimmed fit for the Pack. Aurora’s POV “The marriage will be canceled…” He whispered to me and all of a sudden, my heart leaped for joy. That was what I wanted and it would just be given to me on a platter of gold! How unbelievable! However, it was indeed unbelievable. My marriage alliance with Elias wasn't something that could be canceled out of the blue. To the elders, it was like a payment for me staying in the Pack as a noble, when I was just an adopted kid. Canceling the marriage would mean I was rebelling. “And then what?” I asked, looking into Kieran’s eyes intensely. However, he was confused, “Huh?” “If you finally cancel the marriage, what then will happen to me? Will I stay lonely forever?” My question was just a hint or a probe, to know what he would do after. Looking into his eyes, the way he watched me intensely made me start to believe he was at least attracted to me. Kieran’s POV Even after the sparring session had ended, I couldn't let go of the anger boiling within me. Aurora was left in my care and yet she was being treated harshly by Elias. At this moment, I started to wonder what ordeal she must have gone through when I was at the war front. Elias was too comfortable and fearless. When I saw him at the training grounds, I made sure to leave a few marks on his body, venting my anger because he was engaged to Aurora. I would have dealt him even more jabs if I knew he was so unruly. The look on her face, the anger and the dislike when she faced Elias told me I couldn't let her go into that marriage no matter what. She would never be herself again if she had to rot with Elias for life. But even though I had that desire, the elders didn't. Last night, after the ball, I made sure to consult the elders for a few minutes about Aurora’s marriage but their decision left me flabbergasted. They were all against the idea of breaking

His lips hovered over mine at first but then, he pressed on mine harder. I slowly locked my arms around his neck, sucking on his lips and tasting the sweetness of his mouth, while I moaned in between kisses. “Little girl, did you miss me?” He broke the kiss as his body descended on mine. It was at this moment I realized he was naked, and so was I. I was in a different room than mine, his room, on his large bed with my legs spread wide open. “Answer me!” He nudged me with a love bite on my exposed shoulder, leaving his mark. His lips
