Aurora’s POV

“The marriage will be canceled…” He whispered to me and all of a sudden, my heart leaped for joy. That was what I wanted and it would just be given to me on a platter of gold! How unbelievable!

However, it was indeed unbelievable. My marriage alliance with Elias wasn't something that could be canceled out of the blue. To the elders, it was like a payment for me staying in the Pack as a noble, when I was just an adopted kid.

Canceling the marriage would mean I was rebelling.

“And then what?” I asked, looking into Kieran’s eyes intensely.

However, he was confused, “Huh?”

“If you finally cancel the marriage, what then will happen to me? Will I stay lonely forever?” My question was just a hint or a probe, to know what he would do after. Looking into his eyes, the way he watched me intensely made me start to believe he was at least attracted to me.

When he rubbed my cheek and lips with his thumb while looking down at me sensually, I desperately wanted to kneel between his legs at that point.

Oh, I wished he would tell me he wanted me. I would disregard everything–

“Nothing.” He cut my thought short. “You will go on to live your best life and…”

Those words brought me out of my fantasies and I realized I must be stupid when I thought Uncle Kieran was attracted to me just the same as I was.

I quickly turned on my heel, knowing there was nothing more to say to him. His answer wasn't what I wanted.

“Aurora!” He called out after me but I didn't look back one time. The ball was still going on but I didn't want to risk seeing Kieran and Elias everywhere I turned to. And so without bidding anyone goodbye, I ran back to my bedroom, burying myself in the sheets.

Even though I tried to remind myself that Uncle Kieran would never look my way, I still couldn't get the way he looked at me off my mind. He never looked at me for more than a minute and yet, he was so angry and opposed to my marriage and even drew me against his chest, pressing me into him.

“Ohh…” I groaned in pleasure, thinking of that.

But then… if all these eventually became true, what then would happen? If the Pack caught us in a compromising situation, both Alpha Kieran and I would be in trouble.

Torn between my feelings and the consequences that came with it, my heart turned heavy and the only thing I could resort to was sleeping off, so I could dream of him again.

__

The next morning…

I made up my mind to avoid Kieran all through the day even though the Pack was still raving with his comeback. I avoided every location he would be in. Unfortunately, fate wasn't on my side when I was summoned to give out refreshments to the warriors.

A noble like me, doing the job of a maid was uncalled for but I had to do it, to prove myself as a worthy Pack member.

I reached the yard where the warriors train. It was hot, with the sun up in the air and I knew Kieran was going to be there somewhere. All I wanted to do was bolt in and bolt out.

But once again, fate had something else planned because as soon as I stepped into the yard, the first person I saw was Kieran.

He was shirtless, sweaty with his muscles bulging. His strong arm held onto a sword and my eyes trailed down to his V-area which ran deep in a flimsy cloth used to wrap his private area. That was all that held him together and my fingers itched to strip him completely.

I had seen several warriors dressed that way but then Kieran had a hold on me, making my core and thighs clench in want and desire.

The young warriors scattered around were nothing compared to Kieran who was seasoned with strength, experience, age, and a rugged handsomeness.

“Aurora!” An irritable voice called out to me and my head snapped to look at Elias who was dressed just like Kieran but he paled in comparison.

He held a sword too which showed he was sparring with Kieran and he had a few cuts on his body with none on Kieran.

“What?” I snapped at him, angry that he was distracting me. I watched him throw the sword aside and match toward me.

“Where were you last night?” His voice echoed and all the warriors could hear him. “You left the ball without saying a word! What noble woman would do that to her man?”

I groaned in displeasure, suppressing the embarrassment that washed over me.

“Elias, this is not the time for this. We are not married and I am not obligated to tell you everything I do.” I gritted my teeth, trying not to blow up at him.

It would only lead to even more concerns in the Pack.

“We are not married? Tch!” He laughed out loud. “It’s only a matter of time! The law permits me to question you, however I want since you are going to be my mate–”

“But she is not your mate yet, is she?” A thick and dangerous-sounding voice echoed from behind and we turned to see Kieran approaching us.

As he walked, his muscles flexed under the sunlight and I swallowed, desperately wanting to lick off the beads of sweat on his body.

“Alpha, this is between my mate and I...” Elias stuttered.

“And she is my niece. My responsibility. Until she is married to you, you have no right to question her, or speak to her in that manner!” Kieran pressed, his gaze on Elias as intimidating as the gates of hell.

Even the other warriors couldn't look straight at him and naturally, Elias had to bend his head while his knees shook.

“Yes, Alpha!” Elias responded.

Swiftly, Kieran dismissed everyone and Elias took one look at me before walking away.

I guess he never thought a day like this would come. Ever since we got engaged, the elders made him think he owned me already and even though I tried everything to deflect him, nothing seemed to scare him.

But Uncle Kieran…

“Are you okay?” He asked. He stepped forward to touch me but I took a step back.

“Yes!” I nodded, sharply. I muttered a thank you and quickly turned on my heel to leave.

As I walked quickly back into the house, walking toward the kitchen, I couldn't help but replay how impressive Kieran was. He was like a god at that moment.

Of course, he was my god of sin…

But then my thoughts were interrupted yet again, in the silent hallway leading to the kitchen.

“We will do as you say, miss. We will spike the Alpha’s drink.”
