Chapter 3: The Man at the Rooftop
HER CLASSES ended like the usual—boring. She never had a chance to have a friend since everyone thought so low of her for always being at the bottom. They are also scared of being targeted by the higher-ranking bullies that is why no one ever approached her.
Well, the only good thing that happened even when they were already back is, she encountered no one after her first meeting with the troublesome twins and her crush. Wherever they are, they just bring so much hardships and troubles that she sometimes wished they could just disappear forever.
Right now, she is on her way to her usual spot inside the school that she uses before she comes home to ease her mind and have some peacefulness whenever she is stressed. Today, she decided to drop by again because of the overwhelming stress that the twins caused her.
Her secret place is the abandoned clinic that is far from the crowded places of the school inside the campus vanity. The place looked creepy like it was haunted but it was nice for her. Or maybe she is just weird? So far, she hasn’t experienced anything scary yet so she is not scared at all as for her, the place was better than staying in the normal areas of the school where she would have a high chance of meeting the members of Au Elites. For her, there are no other terrifying people in their world that she feared other than them. They made her life miserable. Who knew if they would do it again? The twins already started it, didn't they?
The moment she got there; an exasperated sigh came out from her mouth as she glanced at the school buildings from afar.
She is currently leaning on the rooftop railings that were reaching her belly button while pondering before she accidentally glanced at her jacket and smiled so bright.
"Did that thing really happen? Did he really talk to me? That famous Liev talked to me…” she whispered to herself with a mixture of happiness and being in denial.
When she recovered from her shock earlier, she immediately removed the jacket as she was certain that she would gather a lot of attention just by wearing it. The man’s fangirls would definitely do everything just to snatch the jacket away and she didn’t want that to happen.
Liev always loved to wear hoodies or jackets with his name embroidered on it. The one that she has right now has a big "Liev" embroidery on the back. Many of his fangirls would surely snatch it from her as all of them are severely obsessed with the wearer of the jacket. Aside from that, Liev already wore it once, so the fan girls would like it even better because Liev’s scent still lingers on it. Because of its danger, she thought that it was better to hide it safely in her bag for the whole day before preserving it.
Why would she preserve it? Why else aside from the fact that she is also one of his fangirls? Liev was the only normal person that is a part of Au Elites. Aside from his looks, his attitude is also topnotch, who wouldn’t dream for him?
"Why are you talking to yourself? Are you crazy?" a masculine voice suddenly said.
The young lady glanced over the direction of the voice and gasped with widened eyes after seeing a figure.
She took a step back in reflex that made her body lose balance and fall on the rooftop. Is it her end? Such an ugly way to die.
"THAT girl obviously likes you, Liev!" Chase said as he laughed hilariously hard before tapping his friend’s shoulders.
It has been a while since the twins started teasing the guy who looked as though he didn’t have any knowledge about his surroundings.
Liev MacQuoid is currently a nineteen-year-old guy, ranked as the third highest student in their whole school and a part of Au Elites; sitting on the second chair as a part of the MacQuoid Clan, together with his sister.
The three are about to go home. That is why all of them were now sitting on the grand waiting shed of the school while waiting for their own carriages.
"So? It's not a big deal. Why are you trying to make small things bigger when it was supposed to be nothing?" Liev said casually before standing after sighting his service.
"Liev, don't you want to play a game with us where you will be the king and not First? You'll be the one to manipulate, order or anything," Hunter quickly said, afraid that their subject would immediately leave before they could even get heard.
Liev shrugged his shoulders, as if he had no interest at all.
"So what? I don't care about it that much," he replied.
"There'll be a bonus. Don't you want to try playing? We'll help you..."
Before Liev could even leave, the twin's words already brought interest to his curiosity—leading them to a perilous path they didn't know they'd be facing in the future.
OR SO she thought. The owner of the voice earlier immediately pulled her from falling to death.
"Who are you? Why are you here in my place? Why do you have a cover around your body? Are you a student here?" the young lady asked continuously while raising her eyebrows and shooting dagger looks to meet the gaze of the gossipy intruder.
"Shh. Too many questions I'm never going to answer. Just let me stay here for a while," the guy calmly replied in a tone filled with snobbishness.
The person stood straight after he managed to pull her from her death—reason why her jaw dropped momentarily.
The guy is so tall that she would need to raise her head if she wanted to meet his gaze. As if she is a rat while he is a mighty lion. Truthfully, she only reached his chin. Aside from that, he is also fully covered in black cloth on his head, leaving only the part of his eyes free from hiding. The only reason she assumed that he is a male was because of his deep voice and large body build that couldn’t be compared to any woman.
"So, who are you talking about earlier?" the guy asked, which made her fidget in shock and took her back to reality.
After a few minutes of being lost for words, Crostelia only found herself sitting on the floor while the mysterious guy who suddenly showed up in her spot was already using her thighs as his pillows.
Who is this guy? She asked in her mind.
Based on his uniform, he is also a student of her school. The odd thing is, she never saw him before. Even when it is a big school, with a fashion style like his, it wouldn't be impossible for her to notice him.
Who is he? She is famous in their school for being the bullies' apple of the eye. That is why she is wondering why this guy had the guts to be near her.
Anyway, it looked like she would never see him again so maybe she could talk to him about her crush? She never had someone her age to tell stories about her crush and other stuff that is why she is very thrilled even with just the thought of it.
"The one I was talking about is a part of Au Elites. The jacket I am wearing is even his, that's why I’m—huh?" Crostelia said with a smile before stopping upon seeing that the white jacket she was wearing was changed into black! Aside from that, it was so big that it looked like a dress to her!
When she tried to find the jacket of Liev, her mouth parted upon seeing where it was. Why is it on the ground? And she is even sitting on it!
"Huh!? How did this thing get here!?" she said, confused while staring at the white jacket that immediately got tainted with dirt.
"Well, I used it so I could have a pillow," the guy said casually while she, on the other hand, was already raging mad inside.
How dare he used it that way!? She already thought of keeping it like the way it was so that Liev's scent would stay forever but how could she still do that if he already made it dirty? Now, she would have to wash it.
"What? You're mad? You're already wearing my jacket. Be glad. That's a lot better.”
Crostelia’s jaw dropped again upon hearing his boastful remarks but she still tried to secretly smell the jacket to see if he was right or he was lying—and he was freaking right! She didn’t want to admit it to herself but her nose already liked smelling his refreshing scent. But! She’d never tell him about it. Never!
It was weird though, his smell kind of felt nostalgic and she didn’t know why.
It was the first time they met so how would it become nostalgic?
Chapter 4: Beauty Covers FilthUNLUCKY! She is just too unlucky in the morning! The school has so many students, why did she have to bump into someone from the Au Elites so early? In the end, just after she took a bath in their house, she took another one in the school. However, this time, she was bathed with orange sticky juice and not water—which resulted in the students’ ridiculing laughter.Unfortunately, after she changed her uniform, her first class was already starting. She was late so her teacher didn’t let her enter anymore. Because of that, she missed her first class. The young lady sighed exasperatedly as she put her backpack in front and then hugged it with a frowning expression. Why did she have to be such a weakling?Right now, she is currently at the rooftop, again, while sitting on the ground without minding the d
Chapter 5: A Sorry Won’t Heal the Scars AU ELITES, a group that consists of the ten richest and most powerful families in the whole Stoneheart Kingdom. The ten families are the ones sponsoring scholarships to everyone who wanted to study, especially magic, but couldn’t enroll in any school because of financial problems. That is also the reason why never in her life she thought of fighting back or revenging even after everything that the bullies, especially the student council members, did to her. Although she is not capable, at least she never thought of harming them because of her gratefulness. Thinking that way makes her feel like an ingrate. However, this scene is quite unexpected. Why is the school's third prince extending his hand and offering it as if he is ready to support her to stand? What the heck is happening? Crostelia was dumbfounded and stared at the hand that was re
Chapter 6: So, What Happened at the Library? AND SO, she did. She went to the school's library to kill her free time and study spells at the same time. Since both her physical body and magic are still weak, she chose to read some basic books that are available at the library instead of wasting time. Though she doubted it if she could actually perform any of those in person since she simply… Sucks. She shook her head as she slapped her cheeks. “I shouldn’t be thinking like this!” she said to herself.
Chapter 7: Finders Keepers DAYS passed by quickly after the library incident that Crostelia encountered. Up until now she still has no idea about what happened to her nor about the book that the librarian told her to keep. She didn’t want to but she still kept in the end although she was hesitating as the librarian wouldn’t let her to put it back on the bookshelf anymore where it only got covered with dust while guilt tripping her that once she put it back, the book will end up being unnoticed while gathering more dust. Because of being too kind, she brought it back home with her and put it in a cabinet inside her room. During those remaining days, she used her time diligently in studying some magic spells that she could use one day. In those times too, she knew she was being followed by the twins and Liev. They were strong, yes. But the way they tried to tail her was just so poor that wherever
Chapter 8: Where is Her Seat?!MONDAY came and Crostelia was so nervous that she could hardly sleep the night before. After that hell-like experience she suffered at the hallway near the cafeteria, she found herself inside their house, unscathed inside her room while laying on her bed as if she just woke up.How did she end up coming home when her last memory was losing her consciousness on the ground while experiencing a different intensity of pain inside her heart? Everything felt so real, her pain, her agony, her tears, and her despair. However, because of what she had witnessed right after opening her eyes; the walls of her room, her bed, the curtains, she thought that maybe she was just dreaming. Because of that, she disregarded the painful incident and thought of it as a nightmare that doesn’t need to be remembered.Aside from th
Chapter 9: It’s a Date"CROS, let's go to the cafeteria. I'm hungry!" Ciar said to the maiden shortly after their morning classes ended. And she, who felt like a doll again, has obeyed the words of the man without even being aware of it again as if she was his puppet. She only noticed it when they were already walking in one direction."Why are you so silent to me? Is that how you’re going to behave later the rooftop?" the man muttered like a snobby kid while his lips were pouting. Then, he suddenly stopped walking and went in front of her as he stared at her intently. Her cheeks immediately warmed up from the awkwardness she felt but also recovered when she remembered what that mysterious guy had said about the thing on the rooftop."Rooftop?" she cluelessly uttered. The boy smiled playfully as he said, "
Chapter 10: What Did Just Happen?SHE WONDERED what happened? How did everything turn out like this? It was an unexpected turn of events. Maybe she was unlucky. She shouldn't have felt so happy because of them when she knew that sadness might suddenly take over.Their chosen day and time easily flew. She was already in front of Stoneheart University's golden gate while waiting for her dates.Time check! It was a cold Saturday at one in the afternoon, the clouds were gray as if any moment it would make the sky cry heavily. She just got there, maybe five minutes ago before their exact call time which was one-fifteen. Because of her nervousness, she kept standing while continuously walking around the grand waiting shed. Even when the place had a long chair for her to sit on, she couldn't sit still because she couldn't contain herself.Until time gra
Chapter 11: A Guy Covered in BlackIT HAS been a while since she last saw the golden gate and the huge building in front of them. How long has it been after she left for the better? Somehow, it felt so long yet so short. It was as if everything just happened yesterday because she could still clearly remember every detail vividly."Hey, Luna! Don't tell us you're just going to reminisce all day?" Harriel said as he raised an eyebrow at her which she saw and caused her mind to return to reality."Luna..." Shiki called to her in a tone as if he would cry any moment.
Final Chapter: I Am Him“WHY CAN’T you speak?”“Did you swallow your tongue?”“Or is it that you are really not the princess?”Luna kept on taunting Estella who never managed to say a word as soon as she diverted the attention of everyone to her.Estella lowered her head as she tried covering her ears but the noises that came from everyone kept on going through her mind again and again as if a broken record that wouldn’t just stop.“Maybe she is really not the princess.”
Chapter 113: Lie Detection Array“IF YOU don’t want to believe my statement and Maximilian’s then you can try asking my cousin, Shelana Loraine Sanford yourself since she was the one who raised me again.”Then, inside the room, the woman and twins who were acting like a food server removed their silicone masks.“I wouldn’t say anything anymore so just watch everything from here.”Then, she took out a projection crystal and immediately showed everything that happened to their lives. From the point where their dead bodies were shown; Luna’s body disappearance, a baby mysteriously appearing and floating at a river; then Luna growing up, up to the point where Luna st
Chapter 112: This Face Is the Evidence“H-HUH? Maybe my eyes were just tricking me,” the princess said while stuttering with her eyes unfocused in one direction. How could it be!? How could it be!? What did the servant I commanded earlier do!? How could she fail like this!? The princess thought anxiously in her mind while fighting the urge to bite her nails and hurt herself by pulling her hair. If she does that, they will only be more suspicious of her.“Worry not, Your Highness. There’s no reason for you to apologize to me as I will not make this matter big. I don’t want to bother you although the issue probably reached the ears of the people outside by now—even the people of Phantom Chaos&m
Chapter 111: The Color of the Necklace“THIS… May I ask what is this, miss magician?”Luna smiled as she turned her gaze towards the direction of the “princess”, and then she chuckled.“A necklace,” Luna replied as her mischievous laugh turned to a sweet smile. As soon as she finished talking, the gasp that was heard earlier multiplied as the onlookers who were waiting for the scene to unfold, heard what Luna said and concluded—it was her, the thief of the night! The princess stood up from her seat and walked towards the table of Luna’s group with a face as if she was being bullied.“I’m sur
Chapter 110: Until It Was Luna’s TurnAND IT really happened. Just the day after the celebration, an invitation from the princess of Throndsen came to the guildhall. Everyone from the guild who managed to pass the current exam for mages were all specifically invited. This invitation caused an uproar and confusion to everyone but Luna already has an idea as to what might it become. In the end, everyone who passed the exam prepared clothes and accepted the invitation to the masquerade party as they had no choice—no one from them has the power to reject a royal invitation especially when all of them were just commoners. Well, except for Luna, but who knows about her origins? Only few knew about her birth and not the majority of the people.
Chapter 109: Luna Already Has a Boyfriend?!RIGHT now, they are already outside the coliseum as the awarding ceremony already ended. After the ceremony ended, Maximilian’s apprentices immediately went straight to the guild to share the good news of them finally getting their license while Luna and Konrad were left in front of the pathway of the coliseum. While walking slowly side by side, as if savoring the moment, Konrad said, “Did I surprise you?”“Of course. Who wouldn’t be surprised? You didn’t tell me anything about this even though you had so many chances to do so,” Luna said as she rolled her eyes that made Konrad chuckle.
Chapter 108: A Large Bouquet of Roses“BEFORE we officially start the main event of today’s closing ceremony, we would like to call for our last year's highest ranker and the first person who managed to snatch the overall highest ranking, Mr. Silvestre, to give us his welcome remarks! Mr. Silvestre, wherever you are seated, may we kindly ask for your presence in front?” the male host said politely.Luna, who was baffled because of what her lover just announced, immediately grabbed Konrad’s right wrist before he could even walk away from her.The guy didn’t resist and immediately stopped in his place before he looked back at Luna with a wide smile plastered on his lips. The latter was ta
Chapter 107: I’ll See You on the StageTHE THREE consecutive days ended in a blast and today is the day of the celebration ceremony. Finally, it is the time to reveal who belonged to the overall ranking and of course, to give the reward of their hard work; their licenses! On the same day, the previous high ranking mages who dominated the exam last year were called to give a speech and to hand out the licenses of the newly recognized mages.Today, all of the people who were announced to enter the top twenty are all sitting together at the center highest row of the audience’s seats while waiting for the start of the closing ceremony since that was what the facilitators instructed them to do.All the
Chapter 106: Change of Plans"SO, THIS is the famous Luna under Sir Maximilian's guidance? You look plain in person. What's so special about you?" the woman with an undercut red hair and a black piercing on the left side of her lower lip said in a mocking tone.Luna, who is in front of her, shrugged her shoulders and carefully put the strands of her hair—that were blocking her left eyes—behind her ears. Then, the maiden bashfully laughed as she glanced at her opponent."Oh? Am I famous? Well, thank you. But... Who are you and why do you talk to me as if we're close even when I only saw you today? Are we familiar with each other? Who are you?" Luna replied sweetly without being affected by her opponent’s sharp words tha
