The room fell into an oppressive silence. Xavier's expression turned icy, as though it were covered in frost.

Mark quickly ended the call. "Mr. Lane, I'll leave you two to talk."

He knew better than to provoke Xavier and invite his wrath.

Tristan glared at Mark, annoyed that the latter had left him alone with an angry Xavier. "Xav, do you want me to give you a ride back?"

Tristan had moved into a private villa to avoid constant pressure from Archibald to get married.

He'd told Archibald he wanted to date Kiki for a year before marrying, but Archibald seemed to see through that and insisted on him getting married first.

Tristan wasn't about to let himself get trapped in a marriage he didn't want.

"No," Xavier replied, oddly feeling frustrated after hearing that Yvette was enjoying herself.

Tristan sighed silently. It looked like he'd have to comfort this gruff man. "Xav, maybe you should just go back. Yvette might be upset, so she's out shopping with friends to feel better."
