Evelyn turned quickly, her heart racing, a flush crept onto her cheeks as she began to make her way toward the edge of the field.

Grayson’s eyes followed her retreating figure, a mixture of frustration and something else he couldn’t quite place, stirring in his chest.

He clenched his fists, trying to shake off the remnants of their closeness. This was not the time or place for these emotions, not when they were in the middle of preparing for a dangerous mission.

Beta Luke caught Grayson’s gaze and gave him a subtle, knowing look, but he didn’t comment on what he’d walked in on.

Grayson couldn’t help but feel a twinge of embarrassment—he knew that the chemistry between him and Evelyn wasn’t exactly subtle. But he wasn’t ready to deal with that now.

Grayson cleared his throat, pushing the distracting thoughts aside.

He quickly turned to the men, who were whispering among themselves about what they had seen.

“Let me have your attention,”Grayson said, his voice loud and clear.

The sun blazed over the training grounds as the pack warriors gathered for another rigorous session. Evelyn stood among them, anticipation bubbling inside her. She searched the field, her eyes locking onto Grayson. He stood with his arms crossed, face impassive and cold—a sharp contrast to the warmth he had shown her before. Grayson surveyed the field, his gaze passing over Evelyn as if she didn’t exist. He barked out orders to the guards, assigning them different drills. Evelyn’s heart sank as she realized he had deliberately left her out. “I’ll be in charge of your training today, Evelyn,” Beta Luke said, standing beside her with a calm, steady gaze. “Okay,” Evelyn replied softly, disappointment heavy in her voice. Her heart sank, she had hoped Grayson would be the one to train her. Beta Luke stepped forward, “Alright, today we’re focusing on precision. We’ll start with arrow shooting,” he announced, motioning to the targets set up at the far end of the field. Ev

Grayson stormed off the training field, his face set in a scowl, his shoulders tense with unspoken frustration. The harsh sound of his boots striking the ground echoed his tumultuous emotions. As he approached the main house, he met Diana on his way.“Grayson? Is everything okay?” she asked, her voice soft with worry. He didn’t even look at her. Without a word, he brushed past, leaving her standing there, stunned and confused.Grayson entered his room, slamming the door shut behind him. The room was dimly lit, a reflection of his turbulent thoughts. He strode to the small fridge in the corner, yanked it open, and pulled out a bottle of whiskey.Without bothering with a glass, he uncapped it and took a long, burning swig. The alcohol coursed down his throat, but it did little to quench the fire within him. He sank into a chair, bottle in hand, drinking more with each passing minute until the room around him blurred slightly—his mind dulling, but not quieting.A knock at the door inte

"Oh, I’m sorry to disturb you,” Evelyn said, her voice trembling as she quickly turned and rushed out of the room.Once outside, she clenched her fists, her heart pounding.“Damn, I should have known better than to trust Diana,” she muttered bitterly, tears welling in her eyes.Evelyn could hear Viola’s heavy breathing echoing in her mind. The overwhelming sadness consuming her wolf was almost suffocating, mirroring the ache in her own heart after what she had just witnessed.By the time she reached her room, her body was shaking from more than just the cold. She slammed the door shut behind her, falling to her knees and burying her face in her hands. Tears flowed freely as she curled up on the bed, her chest heaving with each painful sob.“How could you let Evelyn see that? She’s your mate, damn it!” Kyle snarled at Grayson after he had dismissed Alicia.“Why did she come to my room?” Grayson shot back, frustration lacing his voice, his anger simmering just beneath the surface.“Yo

Grayson paced through the gardens of his compound, the cool evening air brushing against his skin. The weight of the day pressed down on him. The low hum of night creatures outside offered little comfort. He was lost in his thoughts, trying to clear his head, but nothing seemed to help. His mind was a storm of emotions—anger, regret, and longing. Her scent filled his nostrils, and his heart quickened."She's close... she's here," he muttered, his eyes following the intoxicating trail. Then he saw her, standing under the moonlight, its soft glow illuminating her face, making her look more breathtaking than ever.Evelyn looked up, startled to find Grayson standing in the garden. She had come out to clear her mind and bask in the moonlight.“Good evening, Alpha,” she greeted, offering a polite, distant bow, her voice cold, her eyes devoid of the warmth they once held for him. Without waiting for a reply, she turned to leave.Grayson’s hand quickly reached out, gently grabbing her wris

The air was filled with an uproar as the warriors moved through the field, preparing for the imminent battle. The rhythmic sounds of metal clanking and weapons being readied filled the air, and each warrior focused on their task. Grayson stood at the front, overseeing the preparations, his expression stoic as he surveyed the readiness of his fighters.“Listen up!” Grayson said, his voice cutting through the hushed murmurs.“The hunters are currently attacking the Moon Stone pack. We can not wait any longer. We will attack them tonight. This is a well-coordinated enemy, they use guns and weapons lethal to wolves. Our advantages lie in our speed and strength. Beta Luke and I have devised a strategy to flank them.”He turned to Beta Luke, who stepped forward to address the warriors.“We will split into three units. The first, led by me, will engage the hunters head-on, creating a distraction. Alpha Grayson’s unit will circle, taking them from the rear. The third group will be the best

The journey back to the Silvermoon pack was a slow, measured march. The sun had barely begun to rise, casting soft golden rays through the dense canopy.Grayson walked beside the cart carrying Evelyn, his eyes scanning the forest with relentless focus. Every few miles, he signaled for the group to stop, allowing Evelyn time to rest.“Alpha, you know we’re making this trip twice as long,” Evelyn said, concerned about the warriors. Though they didn’t say anything, their expressions showed they were not too happy about the incessant stops.“I won’t risk your condition worsening,” Grayson replied to her.“I am fine, Alpha. Moreover, I am riding in the cart, not walking like the rest of you. The guards are tired and hungry; most of them have bruises too. I don't want to be selfish. Please, let us keep going without any more stops. I am strong, Grayson. Stronger than you give me credit for,” Evelyn said.Grayson knelt beside the cart, his eyes searching hers. “We stop when you need to stop.

I checked here too, and you were nowhere to be found,” James countered, his tone laced with suspicion as he narrowed his eyes. “What are you up to, Lisa?”Lisa folded her arms, her demeanor shifting to one of defiance. “I was running some personal errands. Not that it’s any of your business,” she shot back.James raised an eyebrow, his lips curving into a humorless chuckle. His eyes darkened as he stepped closer. “I see right through you, Lisa,” he thought but kept the thought to himself. “Let’s get to the point. Her face softened into a bright, seemingly genuine smile."Hey there," Lisa said cheerfully, approaching Diana’s bedside."Why not just finish her off completely? You have the perfect opportunity now," Missy whispered in her mind.Lisa’s smile faltered for a second but returned quickly. "Oh, Missy, don’t be ridiculous. Diana is our sister," Lisa said aloud, her tone light as she pretended to check Diana’s vitals."Sister?" Missy sneered. "What if she wakes up and tells everyone what really happened? You’ll be finished."Lisa let out a soft laugh. "She won’t wake up, Missy. You saw the d

Evelyn woke up with a jolt, startled by the rustling of a rabbit searching for food nearby. She had fallen asleep against the rough bark of a tree trunk, her body curled tightly for warmth. Jerry’s voice was sharp, his eyes narrowing as he leaned forward in his seat.James took a deep breath and quickly relayed everything—the chaos in the pack, the attack on Diana, Evelyn’s disappearance, and Grayson’s collapse into despair. "I didn’t expect it to spiral like this. Grayson’s not just emotionally broken, He’s a shadow of himself now." James explained."How could this happen?" Jerry scoffed, kicking the air in frustration. "How are we supposed to lure Grayson out of the pack now?"James hesitated, then spoke, his voice low, almost pleading."There’s no need to lure him out. He’s not a threat anymore. He’s weak and vulnerable. You could come in and attack the pack directly. But… I ask that you don’t destroy everything."A dark smile tugged at Jerry’s lips. "He’s a shadow of himself, you say? That means the poison worked," he said,

"I told you, Grayson is a curse to this pack, but you refused to believe me. Now look at what’s happened again!" James said sharply, pacing the room as he addressed Demas and Gaius. "This is the second scandal within his family."Demas shook his head, his expression dark. "Enough is enough! Grayson must step down immediately, or we’ll have no choice but to take action against him."James smirked, folding his arms. "He’s already a shadow of himself as we speak. His weakness is evident.""That’s his problem," Gaius sneered. "What matters now is Silvermoon Pack’s future. We need a leader who won’t be so easily blinded or betrayed by women."The three shared a cold laugh, their disdain for the Alpha filling the room."I’ll meet with Robert," James suggested after the laughter subsided. "We need to know if he’s willing to join our cause or not."Demas scoffed dismissively. "Robert? That self-righteous fool? He’ll never agree. He’ll talk about loyalty to the Alpha until his dying breath.""

Grayson leaned back in his chair, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he listened to Beta Luke.“They fought?” Grayson asked, his voice tinged with amusement.“Yes,” Luke confirmed. “It’s the talk of the pack now. They said it was a heated face-off, and Evelyn said some pretty harsh words.”Grayson chuckled, shaking his head. “Girls’ squabbles. I’m sure it’s nothing serious. But I’ll talk to Evelyn.
