Grayson stormed over to the hunter, grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him off the ground.

“Why did she pass out? What the hell is happening?” Grayson asked impatiently, his voice filled with desperation.

“Th…That’s how the antidote works. Please! Give her a few minutes, she’ll wake up!”

“That’s how it works, huh?” Grayson repeated, tightening his grip around the hunter's neck.

“Yes, I swear! The antidote is fighting the poison and that's why she passed out. She will wake up soon,” The hunter said through a muffled breath.

Grayson released him with a shove, sending the hunter to the ground. He paced back and forth, every second stretching into eternity.

His mind filled with memories, moments of his cold rejection, of his harsh words, of ignoring Kyle's plea to accept Evelyn.

“Why didn’t I listen?” he thought, seeing Evelyn now so fragile and on the brink of death made him regret everything he did.

“Please, Moon Goddess, make her come back to me. I will accept her,” he silently pray
