Carter, the hunter who managed to escape, ran back to their camp, panting, his face streaked with sweat and dirt.

The other hunters watched him warily, sensing the tension in the air.

Frank, the second-in-command, stood in the center, arms crossed, his piercing eyes fixed on Carter.

“Why have you come back alone? Where are the others?” Frank questioned, his voice low and dangerous. “

“They... they’re dead. An Alpha from another pack came with his warriors and launched an attack on us, they ambushed us. We didn’t stand a chance,” Carter explained, swallowing hard his saliva as he wiped the sweat on his forehead.

“You were twenty in number, armed with weapons. How did one Alpha and a few warriors take you down?”

“They were different. They were stronger than any other werewolves we’ve faced. They had weapons too, even guns,” Carter answered, his voice wavering

“Why didn’t you contact us? You could have called the camp for backup!” Frank said.

“We tried to call for backup, but—”

The whispers began the moment the warriors returned from Stone Moon Pack. What had started as hushed conversations among a few members soon spread like wildfire, fueled by the warriors who’d seen the way Grayson had treated Evelyn back on the battlefield. The talk about Grayson and Evelyn's relationship soon became the words on everyone's lips at the pack. Two ladies, Lucy and Sarah, on their way to the stream to get water were busy talking about what they heard.“You hear what they’re saying about Alpha Grayson and that strange girl?” Lucy said, lowering her voice as though the grasses might have ears.“Yeah, I heard. It’s hard not to. The whole pack’s talking about it.” Sarah replied.Lucy shot her a sidelong glance, clearly uncomfortable. “Do you think it’s true? That he’s been keeping her in his room? I thought that was just a rumor,” She asked.Sarah frowned, a deep furrow creasing her brow.“I don’t know, but Alpha Grayson has never done anything like this before. He’s always

Without acknowledging them, Jerry walked straight towards the Alpha's house, his dark aura clearing a path ahead of him.In the main hall, Alpha Jaxon was holding court, his thin frame hunched over the table as he listened to his advisors. My feet feel numb,” Evelyn added.Grayson’s eyes softened, but he crossed his arms. “I don’t like this.” He said.“You don’t have to,” Evelyn replied. She leaned up, pecking his cheek. “I’ll be fine, Alpha,” Evelyn said and made her way out of the room.As she walked down the hall, she noticed the servants whispering. Grayson sat on the edge of his bed, frustration etched in the tight set of his jaw. His mind replayed the moment Evelyn had pulled away from him earlier, a mix of confusion and longing swirling inside him.“Why are you troubled?” Kyle’s voice echoed in his mind, his presence steady and calm.Grayson sighed, his voice laced with frustration. “I’m trying so hard to be close to Evelyn, but she keeps pushing me away.”“You can’t expect her to open up just like that, Grayson. You rejected her coldly, treated her like she didn’t matter.” Kyle’s tone was patient but firm.“But I’ve changed! I told her I’m sorry. What else does she need?” Grayson’s voice cracked with frustration.“Grayson, she’s not like the others who threw themselves at you. Evelyn is different. She needs to feel safe with you, to trust you, before she gives herself fully.”Grayson’s fists clenched. “It’s not about treating her like the others. It’s just… I can’t control it. Being near her—it’s driving me insane.”“Then pro

Whispers of Grayson’s acceptance of Evelyn as his mate spread like wildfire through the Silvermoon pack. Around the pack grounds, small clusters of wolves gathered, murmuring about the Alpha’s unprecedented declaration. Some were bewildered, unable to reconcile the image of their strong, unyielding leader with his choice of mate—a woman many still deemed unworthy. Others expressed outrage, citing the drama from the New Moon Festival and questioning Evelyn’s intentions and capability to lead as their Luna.As the tension simmered, petitions began to pile up on Grayson’s desk. They were penned with bold words of disapproval, underscoring the pack’s division. Many argued that Evelyn, as an outsider, could not possibly uphold their traditions or understand the sacrifices required of a Luna. Others warned of potential unrest, hinting that her acceptance would fracture the unity of

“We searched deep into the woods, Beta, but we couldn’t find the Alpha,” one of the scouts who had gone to search for Grayson reported.“You said you saw his footprints and all—how is it that you couldn’t track him further?” Diana yelled, frustration evident in her voice.“The footprints led us to a dead end, a cliff, and there was no way to cross to the other side,” the scout explained.“Alright, it's fine. Thank you, you can go,” Luke said, dismissing the scouts.“What are we going to do? We need to find Grayson. We can’t leave him alone with the hunters; he could be in danger right now!” Diana exclaimed, her voice tinged with worry.“I’m so confused, Diana. A lot is happening at once,” Luke muttered, pacing the office. “I would have gone out to track him myself, but I can't leave the pack undefended. The hunters could attack us at any moment.”Diana slumped into a chair, burying her face in her hands. She thought about her brother and the dangerous situation he could be in.“Moon G

You don’t get to make demands here.” He gestured toward his right-hand man. “Frank, teach him some manners.”Frank approached, holding a thorny whip, and lashed Grayson. Each strike tore into his flesh, blood staining his shirt. Grayson clenched his teeth, refusing to cry out.“Stop! Frank barked. "You belong to Group C. What the hell are you doing here with Group A?"Grayson glanced down at the red vest he had taken from one of the hunters earlier. His mind raced, but he masked his panic with a sheepish look. "Ah, sorry, sir! I must’ve gotten turned around. Long day out here, you know.""Save your excuses and get moving!" Frank snapped. "And don't let me catch you out of formation again!"Grayson nodded hastily. "Right away, sir." Grayson crouched low as he approached the hunters' camp, his body concealed by the dense underbrush. The flickering light of campfires illuminated the area ahead, casting shadows on the crude wooden barricades surrounding the camp. He flattened himself against the cold, damp ground and crawled forward, his sharp eyes scanning the layout of the camp.“The perimeter is heavily guarded—at least ten hunters are on patrol, each armed with rifles slung over their shoulders and silver knives at their belts,” Kyle reported after taking a glance around the camp.Grayson also looked around and saw the hunters on patrol. Their movements were methodical, and their sharp eyes roamed the darkness, looking for any sign of intruders."There are too many of them," Grayson said."But they're spread out," Kyle countered. "If we take them out one by one, we can do it quietly."Grayson began calculating. “I need to move fast and remain undetected. One wrong move could alert the entire camp,” he said.He

He claimed he had information about Evelyn and insisted on speaking to Grayson alone. The next thing I know, Grayson is gone. I just spoke with the guards at the southern border—they confirmed he left the pack an hour ago.”Diana's eyes widened in horror. “Why did you let him go alone, Luke? The last time he faced those hunters, we almost lost him. What if they poison him again?” She clutched her chest, tears pooling in her eyes.“I didn’t ‘let’ him go, Diana.
