It was always the same story of her life, but the difference was that now there was a fucking bastard who wasn’t going to leave that bar empty-headed. From the mere instant his lascive eyes fell on her, he knew that there was no other woman who could compare to her. There was something about her that drove him wild, maybe it was the way she tried so desperately to cover her breast or her ass without leaving behind her elegance. She was not like the women working there, she was a diamond among stones because while the others were willing to do anything and everything at once just to get an extra tip, there she was, getting offended by the way that bastard had talked to her. Come on! All women were the same, the only difference was in the gap between women who were quick to accept that extra tip and those who played hard to get.
On the floor, with tears falling from her eyes, she still had time to think about how weak those tears might her see if that fucking bastard looked at them. So, making herself a little stronger, she raised her head a little, getting ready to get up from there, when all of sudden, a third voice assaulted her ears.
“What the hell is going on here?” A male voice asked as his walking stopped right in front of her.
All she could see was those designer shoes well polished with that black suit. April closed her eyes a little as she was ashamed of the way the man had to find her. She hadn’t seen his face, but she was sure that the owner of that voice was none other than the manager of that bar, even though his voice sounded a little unfamiliar.
“I asked you a question!” The man insisted.
Yes! There was no doubt, it had to be the manager of that bar. Immediately, April rushed to get on her feet with her head down yet while her mind was working at a thousand per hour to make up an excuse. Of course she wasn’t going to accuse the man of molesting her. It was gonna be her the one to get scolded for not fulfilling that bastard’s darkest desires.
Suddenly, the man behind her started laughing in mockery. Finally, April raised her head and… what was her surprise when she saw the man in front of her was not the manager of that bar!
The designer suit, the white shirt with three buttons down that allowed her to see his well worked chest, his amber eyes, his tan skin, his straight hair, his beard, and that hardened gesture. He was unpleased with something. She could already say it. But who was he? She had never seen that man in that bar before? He looked like a potential client who was there to make some business on the second floor, asking for the most expensive drinks and ordering that no one bothered him. Maybe that was why he was accompanied by two bodyguards, one man on each side.
“And who are you? The owner of this smelly bar? Do you want to know what’s happening here? Good! Happens that the women you hire like to play hard to get, and I’m getting tired of this! What are you going to do? Are you going to serve her on my bed?!” The man laughed.
April couldn’t help but feel more humiliated than ever.
“Are you going to pay her well?” The man in the designer suit asked. April couldn't believe her ears. She didn’t know who he was, but even if he was the same owner of that bar and was trying to force her into prostitution, he had to know that she was better off being fired than being a prostitute.
And when she was about to speak up, the man laughed again. “Of course! I have enough money to pay her for every blowjob that she’s willing to do.”
April wanted to throw herself at him and give him as many slaps as he needed to shut the fuck up!
“You-” April tried to say, but the man in the black suit cut her off with a single glance.
“You want to have sex tonight with the gentleman?” Son of Hades asked.
April insisted. “What? Look! I am not a-”
“Good! You heard her, gentleman! She’s not interested in you!” Son of Hades cut her off, wiping off the man’s smile. “If she doesn’t want to have sex with you, you should stop bothering her if you don’t want me-”
“Hey! Hey! Are you the owner of the bar? If not, you can fuck up because I want to see the manager right now! This fucking bitch is going with me!” The man tried to grab April’s arm, but in a quick movement, the man of the luxury watch put her behind him at the moment he snapped his fingers to his men and with that signal, he ordered to take the man out of the bar.
All April could hear was the screams of the man while he was being pushed out of the bar. April could finally breathe. She’d been left alone with the man while more people were whispering things about them. She didn’t know what she should do at that moment - show her respects to him, offer him something to drink in the house, give him the best place in that?
“I- I…” April murmured when the man turned around.
All his amber eyes could do was look at her from head to toe. Her black hair, her delicate body, tanned skin, sexy thin lips, a delicate woman who wore that black short skirt and that white blouse with three buttons down. She didn’t seem to be like others. There was something about her that spoke for her and let everyone know that she was not from that world.
Those lips, her small breast, her waist, the long legs… Damn it! Not ever before the Son of Hades had looked at a woman with so much attention as he was doing at that moment.
“I-” April tried to say.
“If this is not what you do for fun, I don’t know what you’re doing here, wearing such a vulgar uniform,” he said.
April’s smile erased and looked at herself discreetly.
He was really handsome, the most handsome man she had ever seen in that bar, but above all, beyond all the thousand wonders she could describe about him, there was the one that announced the power this man enjoyed. Men at his sides who could only be his bodyguards, the way he dressed, the watch on his wrist that was surely made of gold, he seemed to have a man with a lot of money in front of her. What made her think that he could be any kind?
“If you want to continue working here, stop getting on my way.” Then, the man walked off, leaving April speechless.
As she regained her consciousness, she understood that all men were the same. If her own husband had put her under so much pain, what could she expect from the world?
Shaking her head, she walked towards the tray on the floor. She needed to continue her work if she didn’t want to lose it this time.

For his part, as the Son of Hades walked towards his place, he couldn’t stop thinking about the woman who had crossed in his path. Yes, he’d had good times with many women who worked for him, but this was the first time that such a tasteless woman had robbed his attention. Come on! Her body wasn’t a big deal, what she did for a living could push away anyone but those who wanted a night of pleasure. He could even describe her as a joke in that place! When he knew he’d had enough, he shook his head a little and went upstairs -the VIP zone.
Two elderly men who also wore designer suits were already waiting for him. The Son of Hades changed his gesture to a happier one and greeted the men who got up from their seats as soon as they saw him coming.
“Look who’s here! Lucian, AKA, the Son of Hades!” The first man said.
Lucian smiled and greeted the man with respect. “Having a good time?”
“Oh, yes, yes, of course, the drinks, the zone, and of course, the ladies make an exquisite moment!” The second one answered.
“Ready to talk about business?” Lucian asked bluntly.
Both men laughed hard. “You don’t waste any second, do you?”
Lucian smiled.
“Come on, we’re having a good time over here. Don’t rush, live!”
Lucian couldn’t say anything else, instead he poured himself a vodka and looked at the direction the men were looking.
It was true, Lucian never wasted any second. For him there was nothing more important than business. As much as he loved having a good time with a woman, there was something that he loved more than anything and that was power.
“I don’t know what you two think but I feel that this drink doesn’t taste the same without a woman with us, shall I ask three women to come and serve us?” One of the men asked.
“I’m fine just with the drink,” Lucian replied.
Both men laughed but respected his decision, then one of them asked for two of the most beautiful women working there.
“Oh! Also, ask Adele to come and prepare for us one of those drinks she knows!” The elderly man raised his voice.
A man left with the orders.
“You indeed know how to make your bars one of the most prestigious around the city,” one of the men congratulated Lucian.
Lucian sighed. Yes, he’d been clear enough when he said that he wanted the manager to hire just beautiful women, but it was until that moment that he was seeing his creation.
Lucian just shook his head and drank his vodka.
In a hurry, April approached the bar where her friend was serving the drinks. Adele worried at the mere instant she noticed that her friend was approaching in such a way. She didn’t look like the strong girl who was willing to face the whole world in order to get money for her son and make him live in the happiest way she can. “What’s going on, April? Are you okay, darling?” April sighed. She didn’t want to cry, she didn’t want to show her how fragile she was, she just wanted to face the world for her son as she’d always done. But if there was someone whom she couldn’t lie to, that was Adele. “April, what’s going on?” Adele raised her voice a little.April just shook her head. “April, a bastard tried to do something to you?” Adele knew very well that if there was a way to mess up with her, it was by molesting her. April shook her head again. “No, it’s nothing. It’s nothing, Adele.” “Tell me what’s wrong and I swear I’lll kill that bastard who-” “Adele!” A third voice shouted.
As last month, April had gone to her medical appointment but in the same way as the last three times, April had gone alone. Her gynecologist had asked the same question, why isn’t your husband here? And she replied the same, “he’s been working so much. He wants to give the best of the best to our baby.” “But you are one of the richest families in the city.” And with that, the doctor left her speechless. When the doctor understood that he had no right to talk about things he didn’t know, he decided to go to the bottom. Soon, April was gonna give birth to a beautiful baby and she needed to be okay until that moment arrived and, of course, for the rest of her days since her baby was going to need her forever. April agreed and promised the doctor that she was going to be okay for her baby, for herself, and for her husband because if there was something true that was that April loved her husband more than she could love herself. But all of that changed that day when she arrived earlier th
Leona woke up from her nightmare that, of course, felt like a dream since everything started. It is said that what is obtained the hard way is always destined to be taken away the same way. How was it possible that the human being was capable of living in the same emotional and sentimental emptiness in order to have all that he envied in the beginning?Six years had gone by since the last time Leona had seen her friend, the same one who had said a thousand times that she was her friend, the best, the best of all, the best of a group of women who had known each other to the most intimate of secrets.Through Leona’s mind passed those six years that now seemed to be nothing more than years of a past life, a life that she did not want to accept as hers. She finally had it all, she had the last name she envied April so much, she had married her best friend's man and above all, she had managed to conceive the heir to that company, or at least that was what everyone thought. With a bouque
April was running back and forth while her son just watched her sitting in his chair while he finished his breakfast. If his mother had only arrived earlier, she wouldn't be like this, running from one side to the other. But what little Mateo didn't know was that he was all his mother's illusion, everything she needed to keep her going. The beautiful smile of her son drawn on his face shone brighter than ever, since that little angel was brought into her life as a miracle, she could no longer see beyond that pair of brown eyes where she couldn't help but see the vivid image of that man she once came to love with all her heart. It was unbelievable that all that love she once felt for him would end like that. Of course it was the father of that baby who caused her the worst pain, but that didn’t mean she didn’t love her son any less. In the end, her baby was innocent, that baby of hers never chose to have such a father. That baby of hers had come to life and was grateful for that. Th
All that could be heard after was a scream. Inside, the driver took off his dark glasses as soon as he realized what he had done while Lucian couldn’t even blink. Maybe it hadn’t been the driver’s fault, but in the end, the result was the same, a woman had been hit by a car and none of the people inside were aware of how serious the hit could have been. “What the hell did you do?” Manuel, Lucian’s friend, shouted.“I don't know, sir, I don't know, she just crossed the avenue without watching!” Said the man in complete panic. He didn’t know if he'd killed her. “Get out of the damn car and see what happened!” Manuel ordered. Without further ado, the man got out to see what he had done. Right behind the driver, Manuel got out and then, some seconds later, Lucian did the same. Of course it had been an accident, of course Manuel knew how to reward that misfortune to the person who was in the ground, but the truth was Manuel didn’t know what he could expect from that person. What i
April continued on her way after what had happened to her. When she knew she was away from the man, she finally was able to stop and take a look at her knee as if the hands of that handsome man had printed on her skin. She couldn’t help but smile. It was true that their first encounter wasn’t the best of the best, he even seemed to be bothered by having found her on the floor. The second time they looked at each other, he defended her, saying that she didn’t do the kind of job the other men he was with were expecting from her, and the last time, he showed himself as a man full of kindness. April’s depths burned when she felt the warm skin on her knee. It was a total experience. Finally, when she felt ready to continue her day and she realized the time she was arriving at her job, April lined up a little more and tried to cover her knee as she entered. Two other co-workers entered with her. “Good morning, April,” said one of the girls there.“Good morning!” She greeted them happily.
On her way to one of the biggest companies in the country, wearing a black sexy dress with high heels, a hat to cover her face from the sun, and sunglasses to not let anyone see that she was already there. Or at least, that was what she expected. At her side traveled her little boy, the naughtiest child in the whole world. He couldn't stop laughing at the videos his mother had put on the tablet so that he could be entertained on his journey to the company. She didn't want to have to deal with him in any way and for her, the best invention of mankind was tablets along with the internet. She hated so much not being able to have a life like other single women. She hated that her life had become like that. A woman who had a life full of fun and now with a child. Every time she was with her son, her head ached. “Mom, are we there yet?” She looked at her son. “Yes. We’re almost there.” “Mom, who is waiting for us?”Leona rolled her eyes without her son seeing it. “A friend.” “Who is th
When April was able to get back to work, or maybe, to finally start working, with a shy smile she went to the table that was hers but was being taken care of by another waitress, the same one who had seen the scene between April and the manager with a little bit of envy. Of course, April was still too naive to see how envy grew in the hearts of those who had nothing, who prefer spending their day by day watching other people’s lives. Nora was never going to get a good look at April. She just seemed to envy everything about poor April without knowing what kind of life she had been living. Not everything was magic in her life as the woman wanted to see, not everything was intelligence, not everything was beauty, not everything was motherly love, unbeknownst to that woman named Nora, April had been killed by her husband as well as her baby. It was not easy for her to be a mother, it was not easy for her to give birth to her son after he came as a miracle into her life. Nora envied ever
ONE YEAR LATER A year was gone in a way so different from what everyone involved knew. So much had happened and to narrate them all was to narrate how life had gone in one year. After Leona was captured by the DEA, several powerful drug trafficking networks also fell. Lucian was taken to the hospital the same way Adel was, there was time to talk about so many things that April still couldn't believe that life had turned out that way. Rose and Levi took the case forward, after Lucian recovered from the beating and the two broken ribs that Leona's men had caused by beating him so badly, he was able to testify along with April, the woman he loved so much. He also accepted his guilt and cooperated with the police in every way he could. Levi and Rose knew what their job was, they also had to proceed with Lucian and April because they too had made many mistakes. Adel also talked about the bad things Leona did. While she was in the hospital as well, outside the police were moving to make he
April started crying in desperation. Her heart had never hurt like that. It was her son who was in the power of that woman. Her son was all she had. “Please, please, Leona, please, don’t you dare to do anything bad to my son. Please, I’m begging you. He’s not guilty! Your problem is with me! Leave him alone!” April begged with a broken voice. Rose and Levi knew the worst was coming, so they rushed to call the police. It was the end. “If you want to see your son alive and say goodbye to your eternal love, come to this address, alone! I swear if you don’t come alone, I’ll kill your fucking bastard!” After saying so, Leona hung up. April yelled, pleaded, but Leona’s voice was no longer heard on the other line. Levi and Rose called the police. They were ready to attack and now they could clearly see that what they had fought for, what they had invested so many hours, so much effort, so many thoughts, was right in front of their eyes. One of the biggest drug trafficking networks was go
When Lucian learned he wasn’t going to any mansion as the three men had said to make him get into the van, it was too late. The darkness of the highway, the mystery of the place and everything as a whole made him realize that they were not going to the house of any mafia boss, but to the outskirts of the city. It was too late. He had no way to run. He couldn’t. His heart started pumping faster. He tried to get off the van, but two men grabbed him immediately, they started fighting with him, they punched him, kicked him, insulted him… But Lucian still fought. Many things ran through her head, but it was always April the protagonist. He didn’t want her to go through more pain. “Leave me alone, you fucking bastards!” Lucian said, trying to punch the men, but he was out of energy that he couldn’t do so much. The pain had dried out his energy. “You won’t go anywhere! Our lady was clear with her instructions. You will regret what you did to her!” One of the men said. Lucian kept fighting,
April was completely heartbroken that her logic didn’t work. No matter how loud her heart kept shouting at her that what Levi was doing with her wasn’t okay, she didn’t have the strength to push him away, she just stayed there, where she was feeling the coldest kiss she’d ever felt. April had no soul, no more love to give, no more hope to keep, no more happiness to hold. Lucian had taken everything with him. Lucian wasn’t any different, he was like any other man ready to stab the heart of a woman who’d just learned to love someone like him. Perhaps, that was the reason why she couldn’t do anything and didn’t want to. If allowing Levi to do that was going to bring her back a little bit of hope, she was willing to be his slave. But what April didn’t know was that she wasn’t the only one who had been betrayed or who was feeling the coldness of absence. In the depths of his coldness and darkness he’d rose; he had no hope, no love to offer, he had nothing aside from chests full of gold c
NEW ZEALANDThrowing the suitcases in the car trunk, Adel forced his sons to get into the car. Neither Mateo nor Lucas understood what was happening there. Suddenly, Lucas’ father changed his mood when he saw a mark on his friend’s back head. Lucas didn’t understand anything. His father was asking questions to Mateo, not many times Lucas had seen him like that, the last time something like that happened was when Adel was still with Leona, Lucas’ mother. They always fought, he always saw them arguing, the servants were there to try to cover up things but Lucas was always more intelligent than anyone to know that his parents didn’t enjoy each other’s company. Maybe that was one of the reasons Lucas never felt sad when Adel told him that Leona and him weren’t going to live together anymore. And now they were in that car, listening to the conversation Adel was having with the airline.Lucas and Mateo looked at each other. “Three tickets to California, United States! I don’t care if the
As Madeline descended to the first floor of the hotel, still with tears in her eyes and her spirits on the floor, her path was blocked by someone's feminine figure. Madeline looked up and realized that the woman looking down at her with a smile of triumph was the same woman who had taken everything from her.“Madeline! Or should I say… April?”April changed her posture and her gaze. She hated Leona, she hated her with all her might. She had caused her the worst pain, but April wasn't the same innocent and naive girl Adel and Leona knew, and Leona was going to be the first one to see it. April didn’t know why but it was always because of Leona that she couldn’t be happy. She didn’t owe anything to anyone, but life treated her as she would. What a small world was that where Leona was the real meaning of her downfall! But Madeline no longer feared her. Years had gone by saving those hard feelings she felt towards her, and now it was time to let her see her fury. She was going to rip o
Bloody tears ran down her cheeks. The same words kept hitting his head. She couldn't believe she was too stupid again to have believed in a man. She even gave herself to a man after she swore she wouldn't do it again. She thought Lucian was different, one of a kind, someone who wouldn't hurt her ever again, someone she thought would arrive to heal her wounds and make her stronger. Madeline, her name was never Madeline, she was just April, the innocent girl whom everyone mocked her all along. She believed every single word Lucian said. There was nothing he said she wouldn't have believed. And now she was there, hating Lucian when she also loved him. What a small world was this where she had to meet Leona's half-brother and fall in love with him. Damn it! She shouldn't have done it! She shouldn't have fallen for him! If April thought there could be a little bit of happiness for her, she was damn wrong!Madeline arrived at the same hotel where she'd stayed for the last 15 days and, with
NEW ZEALAND Time did not pass in vain, the days, the afternoons, the nights that went by in the same way but leaving behind something more than routine. In the midst of a battle was how April and all that came with her could not help but live. Nothing good had left her being a good woman, a dedicated woman who loved her husband so much, maybe that was what she thought when the deception came, but not too late when she had her baby in her arms she realized that every suffering and tear had been worth it. Then Lucian came along and gave her a new lease on life. And with that life also came the love she never thought she would feel for a man again. Lucian had meant everything for a moment. Even the opportunity he’d given Mateo to grow away from the battlefield his own mother had against his own father. Time didn’t pass in vain and Mateo knew it very well. Three months hadn't gone in vane for anyone. And when Lucian and April agreed that the best thing to do was to put her son in safe
SCOTLAND, THE UNITED KINGDOM ARKANAS CASINO The next morning came as if nothing had happened when the truth was that everything and more had happened. Everything around her felt different, it was like she’d woken up with Lucian’s cologne in her body, it was like his skin still burned against hers, the warmness of that morning brought a special fire with it. Whatever it was, it had to stop. That wasn’t the deal, but who was the first one to give in? She only had one thing in mind, it had to stop, she needed to stop breathing in his cologne, and stop hearing her own sounds that had filled the darkness of that night where she didn’t have control of herself. Stuffed in a red long dress, Madeline continued her way to the casino where she was supposed to see Lucian since she’d asked about him and they had informed her that Lucian had gone to an important meeting and he couldn’t wait for her anymore. It seemed like it wasn’t going to be really difficult to go on with their lives as they u
