“Okay, then no problem. I thought something really bad happened to…” Lily said with relieving expressions but stopped in the middle of her statement, when her unpunctual mind finally decided to translate my sentence to her.

“Wait a minute! WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?” she shouted in shock.

“Stop shouting! Keep your pretty little mouth shut! Do you want our entire pack to know that? Why are you always ready to make an announcement about me?” I asked keeping my palm on her mouth.

“He is your mate?” she asked in a whisper after removing my hand from her mouth.

“Yes. When he saved me from falling, our body touched and then those sparks, you know the rest” I said in a frustrated tone.

The uncontrollably romantic Lily didn’t pay attention to any of the details except for one.

“Ooo, he saved you from falling, how romantic! How does it feel to be in his muscular arms?” She asked with hearts in her eyes.

“Are you listening to what I am trying to say?” I asked in annoyance.

‘This darn girl is just too much sometimes’ I thought looking at the excited kitten.

“Yeah. The hot Alpha is your mate! I heard it and I am jealous” said Lily loudly.

“That’s not it! He can’t be my mate. My mate is that handsome wolf I met in the woods. This arrogant jerk can’t be my mate” I said in complete denial.

“He is not that arrogant to be precise” said Lily taking the hot guy’s side as always.

Why am I even having this conversation with her?

It’s not only about the hot guy, she just always takes side of the person opposite to me. Pretty supportive, right?

“Oh really! Did you see how he behaved with his friend Ira?” I asked suspiciously.

Gossip girl mode activated!

“She is weird, I am telling you. Maybe, she kind of deserve it” She replied being skeptical about the strange girl.

“What about how he said ‘You guys can call me Luke as we are going to be together for a long time’” I said imitating his not so welcoming tone and continued,

“Like he was doing us a favor by letting us calling him by his name” I said angrily.

“Honestly, I also found it rude! He was full of himself. That self-centered b*tch!” said Lily in a furious tone, showing her disapproval to his pompous behavior.

“See? You also agree” I said jumping in excitement.

Being her detective self, Lily started dissecting the situation.

“But if you look at the positive side, he is also unbelievably handsome similar to the wolf you met at the forest. You met him near the lake of our pack’s territory. Do you think they are the same person?” asked Lily in confusion.

“NOPE! Not at all! No way in hell! That King of rudeness is completely opposite of the wolf I met in the woods. The handsome wolf I met was the softest marshmallow, the sugar plum, the sweetest cotton candy, I have ever met and this jerk is the most self centered, supercilious and haughty person I have ever seen” I said hurriedly without wasting a microsecond to even breath.

“The rumors were right about him, he is the arrogant brute as they describe him! He is a player! The Casanova! The bloody playboy, I am telling you!” I said furiously giving pressure every insult I was throwing at him.

“How did you know all this about him?” asked Lily confusedly as I was never interested in knowing about Moonshine, so I always skipped the gossips in the college and I don’t particularly come to practice because I have kept my wolf hidden.

“I am not an idiot the way you always consider me. We are living in the world of social media. I was searching about him on the internet and also had a little talk with some random people who used to know him” I said with a smug smile.

I was gathering information about Moonshine, their Alpha and his family, particularly about his son, the future Alpha of the pack, Luke Arrogant Smith! This whole week, I spent on knowing more about them before the merge so that I know how to handle them properly and won’t let my guards down in front of them.

“Oh, I see. What are you planning on doing now?” asked Lily curiously as he is still my mate and the fact can’t be changed.

“Of course, I will ask him to reject me” I said nonchalantly while lying on my bed.
