Ellie

For 21 years of my life, I've had that book with me. It was gifted to me by the vampire king, the man I dreaded the most deep down. I read it word for word. I read it to heart. During the times of my childhood, I read it as bedtime stories; reading it calmed my mourning soul. It helped me find the right paths of love even after having to lose my parents, the only ones I thought that cared about us. It led me to Murray, the man who found me wandering in the park's library in search of more books to read. He offered it to me at my lowest point in my life when I felt all hope was lost. When I felt lost. And ever since then, I have gathered more books that speak of the Royalties and their sophistication. It had a lot of history and cultures of the Royalties. Which I felt was totally true until I began to tell Isla about the whole compelling stuff. It was the first time in 21 years I was meeting with him after the consecration of Shirlon’s temple. I would have had my heart burst out

Van“Find that little wolf,” I seethed, turning to the vampire who materialized himself to my side. “Yes, sir,” Gira said. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see his men all lying in sight. They had gone in search of Ellie but came back with nothing. “I already have three teams fanning out of the coven in search of whom you seek, sir.” Gira said as he walked behind me. “Make it eight, moron.” I snapped, “Send more of your men. I want every one of you I've housed in my palace scouring every inch of Shirlon until she's found.” “Right away, sire,” he said as I stalked into my art room. This area of my mansion was void of any vampire. I need no one here to protect me; I've got that already covered. The rest of the vampire guarded the other parts of the mansion except here. No one dared to come here except when they were summoned. But I had company, an old raven I had gotten for centuries. • Two Kings for Ellie    Chapter 13

Ellie It was a heavy downpour on a cloudy night. It grew rapidly in straight, silvery steel rods. It clattered onto the ground and onto the roofs of several houses as I walked by. The thunder roared furiously as electrifying lightning zipped over the night sky, then settled to a softer, continuous rumble, which was absorbed by the sound of the rain. I stood in front of a dark alley, drenched in the heavy rain, wondering how fast my cold feet could keep up with the trudge. The smell of wet earth fills my nose. I decided to take a shortcut to get myself back to the Park house. I have to be at the park house before Eamonn gets to the park house. So, I began walking into the alley; the wet wall looked like it would close up on me. Goosebumps appeared on my skin as I rubbed on my arms. “Oh, what a steamy bath I will get once I'm home,” I thought to myself in the spine-chilling cold. I had gotten to the middle of the alley when I heard footsteps from a distance behind. I stopped in my tr

Van I watched Gira get ready to leave for the search; he wasn't close to being as drunk as I was. In the few minutes we spent talking, I drank two more bottles of cider. No, three. Okay, four. I accused him of being with it and these while because even in my drunk state, I knew they weren't on the shelf. He was in no denial; truly, he had a few bottles he'd stocked for himself. I asked him to get me some from his abundance of plenty. Too drunk to care about anything else apart from drinking my immortality away.He was at the doorway when I called out, “Yes, sire,” he replied just immediately. Did I call him too harshly? Maybe I did; I don't know, whatever. “Get me Edgar on your way out, alright?” I said in a voice that was always reserved for my drunken state. “Yes, sire.” I could barely notice him bow and exit when I threw my head back onto the sofa. The intoxicated state I was in at the moment was literally my best state ever. To put it out to you, I am not always drunk, but in

Ellie I sat up from the bed, rubbing my eyes with the back of my palm, and then squinted my eyes to see this image in front of me clearer. “Where's Isla?” Was the question I asked after taking a moment to stare at the naked corpse that took my image? It was her I first thought of; I mean, before I fed from a certain human and was put to sleep by the witch, I can remember Isla asking if she was the one to be used for Murray's strange cooked-up story. I glanced at Manny for a reply, but instead of offering me a once tangible answer, she asked with a cocky smile, “Do you like the masterpiece?” I looked at her like she was speaking. I had just woken up from a horrific dream, and I was taking on another ride of horror in real life, and the least she could do not to give me a death scare was to ask if the blood-stained corpse lying with a hole in her chest was a nice piece of art. Wait, did she do this? “Manny, is this your doing?” I asked the still smiling old lady. I've known her for jus

Ellie “Jumpy eyes, isn't that what you're called?” King Vanchure asked as he dipped a painted brush into the palette. He knew the name my Park called me because of my eye disorder. That was what I could ponder on later, after I had gotten my request granted. It took me a whole lot to get to him; I was clothed in my skin with a magical liquid that masked scents that I stole from Eamonn. If Eamonn finds out I was here, in the dwellings of our enemies, because I wanted to save my twin sister, he would forget we were ever mates and deal with me according to the law. One plan: get in, retrieve my sister, and get out. If it would be as easy as I had plotted in my head. “I have come to seek that which you hold dear to me, my twin sister. Where is she?” My chest heaved from the long trudge in the cool woodlands of Black Park. I was shocked at the way I spoke. I spoke bravely like I wasn't in the presence of a powerful vampire. I laughed at my own stupidity. I swallowed down the lump th

Ellie I acted on impulse, pushing him away from me the moment he leaned close. This is someone whose speed supersedes mine. He could be as fast as lightning, but he chose to launch his attack slowly. He leaned back, grinning. He drew a long breath and said, “I would really love to see you fight your way out of this. But I will have you know that in the end…” He shakes his head slowly. “There's no escape from this. You could be fighting with me, but...” “I would die fighting,” I said fiercely as I interjected. I position my trembling arms out, ready to get defensive. I knew fully well that if he wanted to make an attack, he would be able to subdue me before my very own eyes. It was my blood he wanted. For a reason I knew nothing about. I wouldn't let him have it easily. What a fool I would be to allow my predator to have victory over me without a fair fight. “We are both spilling each other's blood, even if you would kill me after all. My Park will be proud of me that I had to fight

Ellie I lost consciousness in the woodlands of Black Park, which I've always known to be my home all my life. For all I knew, I was running so fast on my paws at one moment, and the next thing, I was lying still at the large gates of the Park house; my limbs felt wobbly and shaky beneath me. I had no idea how I managed to make it this far to this point still alive, and I wasn't sure I wanted to be told how. My clear white furs were stained with blood that had dried and become tacky; I refused to bring my mind to know the source of the blood either. All I just wanted right now was my mate; I wanted him to wrap his firm arms around me and declare that I was safe, even though a large part of me knew that it was false. I was doomed. Still, his words might and could go a long way. What had happened to me? Who must have done this to me? Why can't I remember a single thing? I hope this wasn't the effect of his compulsion. As far as my brains could search, I was told Isla walked into t

  • Two Kings for Ellie    Chapter 4

Ellie That hatred for vampires boils hot in the hearts of my people. We hated them, their ways of life and the way they made us feel less of ourselves. For years, all my life, I've never seen any reason to harbour the same hate my people had for the vampires. I only saw them as a different species from us, because that was literally all they were. My people, the werewolves, said I smelled like one of them, like the vampires and I agreed, even if I knew too well that I had no close idea of how I had their scent on my skin. The damp leaves under my feet crunched as I ventured deep into the forest of Black Park, the border with us and the Royalties. I was back to where I ran from. I let down my blanket to let Ee, my wolf, out. I named her Ee because of the obvious, the first letter of my name. I closed my eyes, allowing myself to go deep into my senses while I let Ee out; I felt the thickness of her legs; they had gotten stronger. What a quick recovery. I shifted to my wolf so I coul

Murray Isla held me close as I supported quite a portion of my body weight on her. I placed my hands on the wounded spot; I felt life slowly draining out of me as my blood flowed through the firm grip. The bandage on my chest was soaked with my blood; it was failing. Could barely hold the blood from gushing. Luckily we got to Manny's house on time; my sister sensed I was in distress and pulled through for me. She always does since I was the last person close to her to be called family. “Because the shot was taken so closely, the wound is deep. It will take a while to pull out the silver slug.” She examined the wound as she spoke, “Get ready to welcome the excruciating pain, brother.” She added, "I don't think preparing me for an incoming painful experience was what I wanted at this point. I had a reason for making an entrance at the throne room; I knew Isla was to be there. After being compelled by the vampire king, she knows nothing of what went down. She knows nothing of what her

Isla I was asked on my way here if walking in on Eamonn in the throne room would be worth getting me killed, and I had an answer. Yes, it will be worth it. Maybe I would have the chance to know why he would turn his back on my sister, his mate, because she was a little unlucky in her dumbass adventure, just before I die. He didn't even give me a chance to speak to her before he threw her out of the park. I don't know her whereabouts right now. What if she's dead? I'm pointing this gun directly at the Alpha of Black Park, the Alpha of my Park, without fear of death. Although I doubt he would want to show his thorough form, his cruelty to the people present in the throne room. I, Ellie, and my godfather have been witnesses to his cruelty. He sits on the throne, glaring at the gun I held out to him. “How foolish could you be, Isla? You didn't only disrupt my meeting with the tillers before it started; you pointed a gun at your Alpha? You know you can't kill me with a gun loaded wit

Eamonn There was a knock at the door. The person on the other end knocked just once. But that single knock could ruin my morning that had just begun. I knew who it was; that's why I'm not asking who it was.“Come in,” I readjusted myself on my bed. The last place I wanted to be was in the throne room.My head was bowed when the person fated to dent the peace of my morning stepped in.“Good morning, Alpha Eamonn.” A park maiden greeted me; it wasn't who I was expecting, but…I smelled chamomile tea just as she entered. Like another day, I would have wanted to drink that tea, but today was a lot more different. The scent of the tea did nothing to erase the strong scent that was laced on Ellie's fur. How could I erase my senses? My bed reeks of her smell. The sweet scent of her flawless skin. It was hard to sleep knowing that I wouldn't be able to envelop myself in her sweetness. My mind is clouded. Nothing feels alright, not after I was left without a choice but to show her out of my l

The blood thirst will return once the human blood in her system wears off.” “And that will be when?”“Couple of hours. Twelve hours max.” “Then we have to keep feeding it to her. Till…”“Till when, Murray?...”It's morning, judging by the quietness and chirping of the forest birds. It's the second time I'm falling into a deep sleep since I returned from Thorx Coven. This time, I dreamt of me with sharp fangs, sucking from the wrist of… fuck… I grew out of my blurry vision. I wanted to search my lips if it was not just me dreaming of what Murray and Manny discussed. With my eyes wild open, I stare at the both of them having a whispering dialogue. I wasn't dreaming. Their words were my reality. I'm being held back by a thick leather belt holding me back to the bed. The clattering noise of the metal of the leather str
