Chapter 1: Past Sins

"I finally found him and I am going to see him now," she said. 

"Are you sure about this?" her friend asked on the other end of the call and she rolled her eyes at her statement.

"I am sure. Now let me dressed up and I will talk to you when I get back," she said and ended the call stepping out of the shower room.

She stepped into the bedroom wrapped in a towel. After applying some lotion to her skin, she opened the wardrobe and picked the most seductive revealing dress among her set of clothing. She quickly slipped into the dress. She did her make-up, combed her shoulder-length hair and quickly braided it all back in a cornrow style. She put on a wig cap with 22-inch long hair and quickly styled it. She checked herself in the mirror and completed her dressing with a 6-inch heel lace-up strappy shoes. She is known as Venus.

Venus picked up her small bag and her phone. There was a W******p message from her best friend. She smiled after reading it and replied.

I am going to see him. Wish me luck.

After ensuring the message had been delivered she dropped the phone in her bag and exited the single-room apartment she called her home. 

Outside, she stood by the roadside and briefly stared at the orphanage centre across the street before raising her head to stop a taxi.

"Heading to Osu," Venus said to the driver and hopped in after negotiating the taxi fare with the driver.

After a couple of minutes drive, the car stopped in front of a popular hotel. She looked outside and smiled after confirming the location. She paid the driver and got out of the car. She walked into the hotel and engaged the receptionist. 

"Yeah, I know his room. He is expecting me," Venus said and headed for the staircase.

The receptionist looked at her and just shook her head in silence. Venus was a prostitute and everyone knows that. After climbing the staircase to the floor where the room was, she checked the door numbers and finally found Room 107.

"Room services," Venus said after knocking.

She kept a broad smile on her face and adjusted her chest making sure her melons were well positioned. She was out to seduce not just deliver a message.

"Room services?" 

Venus heard a familiar voice respond from inside the room and a smile crept up her face.

"I didn't order anything," the familiar male voice continued and eventually the door was opened.

"Venus," the man said under his breath staring at her as she struck a seductive pose.

"Yes, it is me," Venus said and pushed him into the room closing the door behind her.

"You are like a cat. How did you find me?" came the deep voice of the man who had done his best to keep where he spent the night unknown.

"It is my business to find my good clients," Venus said seductively staring at the man.

"Well, if you found me, you might as well please me," the man said taking her in as he scanned her up and down linking his lips like he was staring at a delicious meal.

He drew closer, pulled Venus into his arms and lowered his head to kiss her but she turned her head away.

"Fine, no kissing," the man said and went for her chest biting her through her dress as his hands worked on unzipping her.

Despite the nature of her job, she had grown a special attachment to this man who knew how to work her up and draw her desires to the surface. It was not long before she gave in and allowed the man to bend her over the bed and slip his big self into her. Her body shivered at the feel of sweet satisfaction that surged through her body and she moaned.

"Yeah, babe, moan for me," the man said as he pounded her from behind pressing her back down on the bed to grant him comfortable access.

He had that going for a while before he flipped her over and went down on her. Venus let out a loud moan allowing the pleasure to consume her. She pulled the man up and slammed her lips on his. She went hard and rough with him.

"I thought you said no kissing," the man whispered against her lips.

"Never mind," Venus replied and allowed the man to trail kisses down her neck as the pleasure consumed her whole.

"Does it mean, you will be my girl," the man asked, his hand working under her as he nibbled her shoulders.

"Yeah," Venus replied lost in pleasure and he captured the tip of her huge melons with his lips and pleasured the other with his hand.

He flipped her over, pulled her waist up and pressed her back down, slipping himself into her again.

"Faster," Venus said and let out a moan.

They both kept going until they hit their spot and collapsed on the bed breathing heavily. He turned to look at her on the side and planted a kiss on the back of her hand making her smile.

"Did you mean it the last time, when you said you like me?" Venus asked, trying to confirm he was not playing with her emotions.

"Of course. You are amazing and you know how to make me happy," the man replied and planted a kiss on her lips making her smile.

"Well, I like you too and that is why I allowed you to kiss me," Venus confessed and rested on his chest while he ran his hand through her wig.  "There is something I need to tell you," she went on, drawing circles on his chest.

"What is it?" the man asked and Venus went silent for a while thinking through what she wanted to tell him.

"You can tell me," the man coaxes her and she exhales heavily. 

"Well," Venus began and paused.  "I am pregnant," she said slowly.

"What!" the man exclaimed and sat up immediately.

"I am pregnant for you," Venus repeated and also sat up covering her chest with the blanket.

"No, no, this can't be happening right now," the man said and got down from the bed and started putting on his clothes.

"I thought you said you like me," Venus said surprised by his reaction.

"Good, I said I like you. I like having sex with you. That is all, nothing more. I am not taking that any further," the man said and closed his buttons. "Get dressed and get out," he yelled throwing her clothes at her. 

Venus stared at him in shock, surprised by his change of attitude. He was always nice to her promising her heaven on earth. Was that all excitement talk? Thinking about it, he only said those things to her when they were in bed.

"Last I check, you are a prostitute. You have slept with more men than the strands of hair on your head. How do you know I am responsible for this?" the man barked, his eyes red with anger.

"I had not been with any man for over a month before I was assigned to you," Venus replied almost in tears.

"Assigned?" the man repeated furrowing his brow.

"Yes. My job as a dancer is to attract rich men to the club and you fit the profile," Venus replied and the man walked up to her grabbing her by the neck.

The blanket dropped as she tried to free herself from his grip exposing her chest. The man stared at her beautiful chest briefly towering over her before returning his gaze to her face.

"I was only doing my job. Nothing more but I fell in love with you. What you pay me for my services, goes to the club," Venus explained, her voice barely audible but he heard her.

He let go of her and she fell to the floor from the bed coughing violently. The man stood in the middle of the room in deep thought for a while and ran his hands through his curly blonde hair in frustration before going to his bag. He returned to her side.

"Who are you working for?" the man asked angrily.

"I already told you. I work for the club," Venus replied moving away from the man who looked like a lion ready to tear her apart.

"Fine," the man said reading the honesty and fear in her eyes. "Here, take this and get rid of it," he said coldly, handing her a bundle of cash. "Now get out if you wish to see the light of another day," he growled and Venus took the money, put on her clothes and ran out of the hotel room. 

Venus had been in this business for a while and knew better than to annoy a client when they made such a statement. She left and headed back home hoping to engage him again another night but she never saw or heard from him again.

"The bastard left," Venus complained to her friend sitting on the bed in her single-room apartment. 

"I told you it was a bad idea. You should have listened to my advice and gotten rid of it a long time but it's all good. At least he gave you some money. Get rid of it and let's go back to work. Your long break is over and I believe it was enough time to cure yourself of that syphilis you contracted from your last client," her friend suggested and Venus just nodded feeling broken.

Nine months went by and Venus gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She stared at the baby she had delivered herself inside her apartment for a while and wrapped her in a cloth. The baby cried for a while and stopped crying after she breastfeeded her.

"I am sorry. I didn't mean to do this to you but I can't take care of you," Venus said and exited her apartment with the sleeping baby wrapped in a cloth.

It was 4:30 am and she crossed the straight to the orphanage centre across the street. She abandoned the baby in front of the gate.

"Hey, you," came the voice of the security man before Venus could leave.

Venus ran off but unfortunately, before she could cross the street and head back to her apartment, she was run over by a truck.

The manager of the orphanage was alerted and the police were called to the scene. They did their checks and the child was put under the care of the orphanage home and the mother was buried. 

A couple of months later, the orphanage gave the child up for adoption to a couple who had been struggling with childbirth. She was named Dede Mensah.
