Chapter Ninety-Two: Stupidly Strong

From the corner of my eyes, I gaze towards where my phone crashed. It's uselessly shattered; even the chip on it might not help much.

And the one on me…no, how did he know where my chip was? Did he bite me on purpose to destroy it?

The more wild thoughts roam my mind, the faster my heartbeat accelerates; it's so fast that I am certain it will thump right out of my body through my throat.

My gaze moves to the car beside me; the windows are tinted, so I can't tell if my kids are awake. I'm only grateful that his gun was silenced.

I hope Elizabeth stays put.

Wild nausea claims my throat before I turn my gaze back to Matteo.
