The next day, Zren packed her things and sent Zhen and Xhyne first to school before going to the place of the event.
The event was held at the Casa de Verhillo a prestigious hotel located outside Central City.
After Zren graduated college from the Sevirillo State University, she, Yashi, and the twin moved to Central City because of a job opportunity.
With Zren's innate talent and high IQ, it was not hard for her to find a job. Soon she got a job at the number one law firm in the country, however, just after staying there for a few hours, she was immediately fired on the spot.
As for why? She just offended a person she was supposed not to.
That was how she found the Lawless Law Firm, she could still clearly remember what she did just to get a job. It was one of the most embarrassing but at the same time one of the most memorable experiences she had.
As said earlier, Casa de Verhillo was located outside the Central City, it was three hours drive at normal speed, but for Zren's speed of driving, it would probably take her two hours at most.
Actually yesterday, the old man suggested that it was more convenient to book a flight to the destination because it would only take an hour however, Zren refused.
She insisted on driving for experience, but, of course, it was just an excuse.
Zren didn't like riding an airplane, it was the mode of transportation she hated the most.
When Zren was already out of the highway with an implemented speed limit, her lips slowly curved up. She took a deep breath before slowly stepping on the gas to increase her speed.
Zren's driving skills were excellent, this was also one of the reasons why she insisted on driving because there was no speed limit outside the City. She could speed up whenever she wanted.
Zren's speed was fast, she could easily outrun other cars leaving dust behind. She overtook most of the cars.
A fancy and flashy customized galaxy blue sports car showed its full ability, making other drivers on the road staring at it with full of admiration.

After two hours of driving Zren finally arrived at the Casa de Verhillo. She parked her car, took her luggage with her, and went to the receptionist area.
The lady in duty genuinely smiled at her and said in a warm yet professional manner, "Good morning Ma'am, welcome to Casa de Verhillo, how may I help you?"
Zren didn't answer and just showed her cellphone to the lady. It was the reservation receipt that the old man's secretary sent to her.
The lady nodded and tapped something on the computer in front of her. After a few moments, she said, "It's room 404 on floor thirteen Ma'am, and here's your room card."
"Thanks," Zren said with a smile.
"Your welcome Ma'am, if you have any concerns you can contact us at any moment."
Zren nodded and took the room card and pulled her luggage with her. She declined the hotel staff's help.
Zren swiped the room card and the door automatically opened. She was too lazy to admire the entire room so she went straight to the bedroom and threw herself on the king-sized comfy bed.
Just as Zren was enjoying herself on the fluffy bed, out of nowhere a very big problem popped out of her mind that made her jolt out of the bed.
"Sh*t! I don't have a dress to wear!"
Now Zren finally remembered, last night she just packed her luggage and didn't even remember that she needed a formal dress to attend the party. In addition, she didn't even know how to do fancy makeup!
Zren stood up from the bed. She took her small backpack that contained her important belongings together with her room card and went out of the room.
Zren had already arrived at the lobby when she realized that she had no idea where to buy decent and presentable clothes. It was her first time here so she was not sure if there was a mall, boutique, or whatever.
Zren was about to ask the lady at the front desk when she saw a hotel staff carrying two trash bags with him.
Based on his looks it seemed that he was just a part-timer, he looked too young to be a hotel staff more likely a college student.
Zren walked towards the young guy.
"Hey, hey, stop!" Zren shouted to get his attention.
The young man was frightened that he nearly dropped the garbage. When he saw that a guest was approaching him he was even more scared.
One should know that the people staying at the Casa de Vermilion was no ordinary people. No matter what they look they should not be offended.
The guy swallowed his saliva, his heart was beating so fast. Although the woman who called him was just plain looking and was wearing a plain beige t-shirt, jogging pants, and white shoes, he was still scared.
He was already asking himself what he had done wrong because he ended up offending a customer, it seemed that it was the end of him. He applied to be a part-time staff because needed money so he couldn't afford to lose this temporary job!
The young guy, took a deep breath and bravely asked, "Good morning Ma'am, how may I help you?"
"Hey kid, do you know a place where I can buy clothes like dresses?" Zren asked. Looking at the other person, she could feel that he was scared. Was she angry?
The young guy slowly nodded his head and said nervously, "T-the closest boutique I know is fifteen minutes away from here, Ma'am."
"Okay."
Zren looked around and saw another hotel staff, seeing the nameplate on her uniform Zren knew that she was one of the managers.
"Hey, Miss Manager!" Zren shouted.
The manager changed her tracks and walked toward Zren.
"Yes Ma'am, do you have any concerns?"
The young guy who was about to sneak out of the scene was suddenly frozen in an instant, his heart was beating so fast, that cold sweats started forming in his back. It looked like working as part-time hotel staff was a bad decision.
"Can I borrow him?" Zren pointed to the young guy who was about to sneak out. "It's my first time here and I need to buy something so I need a tour guide."
The manager looked at the part-timer with wide eyes, as if she would swallow him.
The manager struggled to force a genuine smile at Zren and replied hesitantly, "Of course Ma'am, you can."
Hearing this the young man's eyes widened in disbelief. Didn't the hotel has rules that needed to be followed? It included that a worker wasn't allowed to leave the hotel while on duty unless there was an emergency.
Now, where the heck was that rule?
After receiving the manager's approval, Zren thanked her and faced the young man.
"Let's go, show me the way."
The young man was reluctant to follow Zren while looking at the manager and asking for help. However, the manager only mouthed the word "sorry" and left the area.
"Anyway, what's your name?" Zren asked.
"Nio."
"Nio, nice name."
Nio was still nervous so he couldn't help himself to bit his lower lips. However, when they reached the parking lot his nervousness was soon replaced with amazement.
In front of him was a dazzling galaxy blue sports car, the exterior was beautiful and amazing, shimmering under the dim light of the underground parking lot.
"Is this yours?"
"Of it is," Zren proudly admitted.
"Hop in, you're one of the lucky people who will experience riding my precious baby."
————
As per instructions, Nio directed Zren to the nearest boutique shop that he knew.
To Zren's surprise, they went to the suburb area near the Casa de Verhillo and the road was narrow and had so many holes.
After driving for almost ten minutes, they arrived at the relatively small boutique in the boutique the middle of a neighborhood. It seemed that it was out of place because the succeeding structures were houses.
Zren didn't complain and just got off from the car. She looked at Nio.
"Tell me the truth, is this shop run by one of your relatives?
Nio's eyes widened in surprise, "H-how did you know?"
"Earlier you said that the nearest shop here was fifteen minutes away, however, it only takes ten minutes to arrive here," Zren paused for a moment. "Let me guess, the shop you recommended earlier was easily recognized, right? But you didn't expect that I will take you with me so you just directed me here."
"You're amazing!" Nio complimented.
Zren just smirked at Nio and then pushed the door open.
The sound of wind chimes hanging at the door hit each other, creating a soft clinking sound.
The moment Zren entered the shop, a certain gown immediately caught her attention, it was placed on the display.
The design was an off-shoulder satin deep brown gown. It was simple yet very appealing. Also, it was not revealing but at the same time, a do not cover too much skin.
Zren stared at the gown, just by looking at it she already knew that it was her size.
"How much is this?" Zren asked the not-so-old woman.
"It's seven thousand keals, Ma'am."
"Keal" is the country's currency.
The dress's price was not that high but also not cheap. It was rather reasonable.
"I'll buy this," Zren said. "Do you accept bank transfers?"
The woman was silent for a moment before shifting his gaze to Nio. "Yes, yes, my son has a bank account."
So that was Nio's mother.
"Give me your account number, I'll transfer the payment immediately."
Nio didn't hesitate to give his bank account number and to his surprise just after a few minutes, he already received the money.
Seeing that his account balance raised thousands was delighted.
"Thank you, Ma'am," Nio looked at Zren waiting for her response.
"Zren, my name is Zren."
"Thank you Ma'am Zren."
Zren nodded and watched Nio's mother carefully put the gown in its box.
Out of a sudden Zren remembered something. "Auntie, do you also accept door-to-door makeup service? I have a party to attend later and I need a person to do my makeup."
Zren was not skilled in makeup, she knew a little bit of it however she often stays inside her office so she didn't mind what she looked like every day. But today was different, she needed to be presentable as much as she could.
"Of course we do."
Zren then explained what time and her room number. They also negotiated the price for the service.
After everything Zren and Nio were about to leave when Zren remembered something.
She still hasn't bought a gift!
Just as Zren was about to ask Nio her eyesight caught a thing on the shop counter, it was several bottles of unbranded wine.
Zren looked at Nio and asked, "Do you guys sell that bottles of wine?"
"Yes, it was a rice wine made by Mom, the recipe was exclusively passed down from our ancestors. It was our family's legacy."
"Really? How much are those?"
"Nine hundred keals per bottle. The price is reasonable because it was already two years old since it was made."
"I'll buy all of those five bottles," Zren said and took out her phone then transfer four thousand five hundred keals to Nio's bank account.
Nio and his mom immediately packed the wine.
"It's our lucky day today. We just made eleven thousand five hundred keals, excluding the makeup service," Nio's mother happily whispered, her face was full of happiness.
Because of the location of the shop, only several people came and buy their products every day sometimes there was not even a single customer. So Zren's arrival was really a miracle.
After everything, Zren and Nio went back to the Casa de Verhillo
————
When they arrived, after getting out of the car Zren fished out a five hundred keals from her wallet and gave it to Nio.
"A tip," she said and walked away with the things she just bought.
Hours had passed, when Zren heard a knock on her door. She was busy cleaning up the mess she just created.
Zren walked towards the door and saw Nio's mom holding two large makeup kits.
Zren let her enter and they immediately started.
While in the middle of putting on makeup, Zren couldn't help but ask Nio's mother.
"Auntie, is your son studying?"
"Of course he is! My son is a very bright person, he is a consistent first honor until he graduated from senior high school. Then he got a full scholarship to study law in the most prestigious university, the Central University!" Nio's mother couldn't control herself and happily bragged about his son's achievements.
The two chatted until the makeup was done.
Zren looked at herself, she already knew that she was beautiful but with the help of makeup she was even more beautiful than before.
Zren thanked Nio's mother and then she assured her that the payment was already received by her son.
Nio's mother gave Zren her utmost thanks and left.
————
Before seven in the evening, Zren was already prepared.
The event was also hosted at the Casa de Verhillo so she took her things with her and went to the party.
Little did Zren know that the moment she stepped inside the party, he was already under someone's gaze, it was none other than Weidon.
Weidon was sitting with his colleagues at one of the tables far away from the entrance, but from their spot, one could easily see the people entering one after another.
Weidon who was already itching to leave was stunned when he saw a person.
A person with an extremely familiar face.
The same face that he couldn't forget no matter how many years had passed was already imprinted in his mind like a permanent tattoo. The same face he fell for but later made him miserable all these years.
The face belonged to a one person he would never be able to forget.
Celestine.
Zren wore the off-shoulder satin dress she bought earlier and paired it with a black pointed strap heels sandals that she brought with her. Her wavy galaxy blue hair was tied into a clean half-bun making her even more gorgeous than before. Zren was holding the "gift" in one of her hands. As for what was her gift? It was the rice wine she got from the Nio's shop. A few hours earlier after she went back from buying clothes, she called the hotel's management to request some things such as black cardboard, scented papers, glue, scissors, paint, and other art materials. Using her creativity and with a little bit of help from do-it-yourself or DIY video tutorials posted on the internet, Zren started to create an elegant and expensive-looking packaging for the cheap unbranded wine she bought. She maximized her creativity even though she was not that good at making crafts. After making a paper bag out of the black cardboard, she next created a box for the two bottles of wine. After a
The sudden kiss shocked Zren to the core. She wanted to struggle however, the man was gripping both of her wrists pinning her against the hard wall. There was a large gap between a woman's and a man's strength after all. It was clear who was stronger between them. Just as the person was about to explore her mouth, Zren took a deep breath and bit the man's lower lips as hard as she could. Her canine teeth pierced through the man's lips causing it to blood severely. "F*ck!" Weidon hissed when he felt a stinging pain in his lips. He let Zren go and touch his wound, it was deep and bleeding non-stop. Zren pushed the man and slapped his right cheek using her fullest strength. The impact was so hard that it echoed within the empty hallway, there was even a handprint left on Weidon's left cheek. Zren covered her lips with her palm and stared at Weidon, eyes were full of disbelief. "Omo, my first kiss!" Zren mumbled to herself, her tone was full of grievance and frustration. The
On the top floor of the headquarters of Galcon Development Corporation, Weidon was inside his office, sitting in a swivel chair. He was wearing a formal suit together with his cold and serious demeanor. Infront of Weidon was his secretary, Secretary Lemur, holding a couple of papers looking serious. "Sir these are the lists of the people who attended the event held in Casa de Verhillo. There's no one named Celestine Zaliarde in the list." He gave the stapled papers to Weidon. "Are you sure?" Secretary Lemur nodded. "Yes Sir, I've checked the list myself many times there is really no one named Celestine Zaliarde." "The CCTV footage?" Before answering Lemur fixed his crooked eyeglasses and said, "The room that the woman in the video walked into was rented by an anonymous person. There is no name or anything else. It seems that the person has a strong connection in the hotel." Little did the two know that the one who reserved the room was Louzvent's secretary. He used an anonymou
Zren was still furious and mad because of those two old men, so she just decided to bury herself to do her never-ending work. The time passed by quickly. Zren was immersed in her work that she didn't even notice Vinley entered her office. Vinley knocked several times however Zren didn't respond so he just opened the door. Vinley saw that his boss was busy looking at the stacks of thick papers on placed on the table. To get her attention, he decided to knock on the table instead. Zren looked up and saw Vinley. She frowned as she asked impatiently, "What?" Seeing that his boss was in bad mood, Vinley didn't beat around the bush and explained briefly, "I just want to remind you that, at one in the afternoon, we need to attend Mrs. Panelo's ribbon cutting ceremony for her newly opened boutique shop." "Huh? Mrs. Panelo? Ribbon cutting ceremony? What the heck are you talking about?" Zren asked, shocked and confusion was written all over her face. She had no idea what Vinley was talki
"Tell me Zren, just what the heck did you do?" Vinley asked as they walked away from the lady's room. "I didn't do anything, okay? The moment I stepped out of the CR, that Weidon suddenly gripped my arms, and I don't know why," Zren explained to Vinley. It was the freaking truth, all this time it was Weidon who was bothering her. She didn't even know what she had done to catch that pervert's attention. "Next time, if you ever meet Weidon again, please stay away from him. He's not the type of person you can afford to offend." It was him who kept bothering me! Zren wanted to say those words however she choose not to. It was better to keep the matter just by herself. "Fine, fine, I will," Zren agreed and went back to their designated seat with Vinley.———— It was already five in the afternoon when the ribbon-cutting ceremony had ended. "D*mn I thought that ribbon-cutting ceremony will only consist of cutting the ribbon. I don't know that it will take hours before cutting the freak
Zren and the twin were now obediently sitting on the large sofa, while Yashi who was furiously mad, was standing infront of them. "Do you guys know what time it is?" Yashi pointed to the wall clock on the top of the tv. The three of them followed Yashi's fingers, when they saw the clock, they all nodded in unison. "It was already one in the morning! Instead of sleeping, you guys are here, watching a useless horror movie!" The trio all lowered their heads, avoiding Yashi's furious face. "And you Zren!" Zren who was sitting between Zhen and Xhyne subconsciously shuddered when she heard her name. She nervously bit her lower lip while waiting for Yashi's scolding. "You are their mother, you should be the one who is responsible for them, but instead you are even the one who's leading them astray!" Zren didn't know what to reply so she just continued to stay silent. "It's already one am, let's just talk later, you guys should sleep and rest first. We will continue later when you gu
Since Zren finished her work on time, she went home early. And texted Yashi that she would be the one who would pick up Zhen and Xhyne at their school. Sometimes when Zren was not available, it was Yashi who would be going to pick them up. However, since she didn't need to work overtime today, Zren had time to fetch her sons at school. Zren parked her car in the designated space, she checked the time and it was just four pm while the end of the twin's classes was four-thirty in the afternoon. Zren got out of her car and waited for the twin to go out. After leaving work, she changed into her casual clothes, a t-shirt, jogging pants, and white sneakers. Her galaxy blue wavy hair was tied into a half bun. Zren played with her cellphone while waiting for her sons when she felt that someone was looking at her. It was not just a single person but many. Zren put her phone back in her jogging pants' pocket and looked around. Sure enough, people who passed by kept glancing in her direct
Zren was already in the waiting area for almost two hours and finally, it was time to board the ship. She qued up in a line and soon it was her turn. "May I see your boarding pass Ma'am?" The man wearing a formal uniform asked. Zren looked at the man, expression full of confusion, "Boarding pass? What's that?" "Ma'am, it was the piece of printed paper, as a ticket, that was given to you so you are allowed to board the ship," The man professionally explained, he didn't even reveal even a single bit of impatient. Zren awkwardly stared at the man, she had no idea what he was talking about. "What if I don't have one?" "Ma'am you must have one so you will be able to board the ship." Zren clenched her jaw in irritation. Before she left earlier, Zren asked the old man if she need to do, or had to carry anything with her before boarding the ship. However, the old man just said that she didn't need to. If Zren remembered correctly, Louzvent said that she only need three things so she
Weidon forgot how to react at the moment, he sat on the bench with a back, not moving or even blinking his eyes. He wanted to open his mouth to say something, but he couldn't bring himself to do it, as if an unknown force was stopping his body from doing anything. At that very moment, it seemed that his world was frozen; everything that surrounded him stopped moving, he couldn't hear or respond to anything, and his connection to the outside world was blocked.Weidon did not expect Zren to make such a sudden, bold move. He thought that she must at least do some preparation. However, it turned out that everything came in an entirely different direction. The direction that he least expected the most.To say such things as if they were just a piece of irrelevant information was truly unexpected; Weidon was not prepared at all.Snapped!Weidon was pulled back to the reality when he heard a crisp snap of fingers. He blinked a few times to regain his focus, only to see Zren's pale long finge
When they arrived at their destination, the four of them got out of the car."Seaside!" Xhyne exclaimed in excitement the moment he saw the crystal blue water from the distance.Without waiting for anything, he pulled his brother to the play on the seaside.Zhen didn't resist and let his twin pull him. Even though he did not say anything, he could not hide his shining eyes. They were bright and full of excitement."Do you guys often come here?" Weidon asked as he looked around. Based on the twins’ expressions it was not the first time they went to this place."Not that much. We only visit here if I have free time."Their surroundings were quiet and peaceful as there were no other people other aside from them.Weidon and Zren sat on a bench facing the sea.The sun started to settle turning the blue sky into a blazing fiery red sea of clouds. The water reflected the light from the ball of fire, making the water seem to shine like colorful glitter. The sea was calm and small waves crashe
Truth be told, Weidon and Vinley actually knew each other, however, they were not acquainted with each other or had any close interaction before.Their family just belonged to the same circle of business, so they met a few times now. However, as for why a young master of a pretty well-off family was here working as a secretary for someone, Weidon really didn't know. But that was not the main issue right now, because if something got out of Vinley's mouth regarding Zren and him, Weidon was sure that in no time, troubles would be able to find their way in knocking on his door.If Vinley spoke outside even a little bit, those people who were watching him would soon gonna know and try to dig deeper about this matter, and worst the twins would be going to be found. As much as possible Weidon didn't want to let the public know about Zhen and Xhyne's existence in the meantime without drafting a concrete plan about the matter. There were so many things that he needed to consider and one of th
Whenever Zren remembered Celestine, her bad temper would always act up and the blood in her vessels felt like they were boiling in extreme anger. Her patience was as fragile as a thin strand of hair that could easily be snapped into two.Her anger towards that woman was immeasurable to the point that whenever she heard the name of that person, her anger issue would skyrocket to the extreme, enough to reach a place outside the earth.Even though it had been a decade, there was no way Zren would forgive that woman. After everything she had gone through because of her made Zren impossibly forget those dark bitter memories. "Stop bringing that woman into the conversation, I don't have time to listen to anything bullshit about her." Zren turned her back to Weidon and continued to search in the bookshelves. After some time searching, she finally found what she was looking for.Out of the bunch of books displayed on the shelf, Zren pulled out a thick brown album and held it in her hand.Bec
The happenings flashed way too fast, and before Zren could react, Weidon's strong palm was already gripping her jaw and forced her to look him in the eyes. She really didn't expect that he would be going to react this way, it looked like his patience wasn't enough to endure everything for a long time just as she first expected.Zren knew that Weidon still highly doubted her identity. He thought that she was just making up another identity to fool him again. That was why earlier, Zren didn't act aggressively and chose the calm friendly approach. She acted dumb and playful when talking while purposely letting Weidon run around in circles.Weidon's main objective was to know the twins' identity, he wanted to know who their father was if it was him or what. However, since Zren set the momentum the moment she entered the room and didn't give Weidon a chance to speak what was in his mind, the topic diverted from the twin to her identity.Zren thought that Weidon was a hard bone to chew that
The call had ended for almost five minutes now, however, Zren was still gripping her phone tightly even though the person she was talking with had already hung up.Zren didn't need to ask herself for the second time because the moment she realized what the other person meant, she knew who it was.Of course, who could it be if not Weidon? But what amazed her was that Weidon's connection was so fast, he immediately obtained her personal contact information in less than a day, just a few hours to be exact. The way he called early in the morning even though the sun had yet to rise completely meant that Weidon was so eager to know everything. He had just seen the twin last night and now he was so impatient that he called first thing in the morning disturbing Zren's good night's sleep.Even though Zren's body still wanted to lie down and go back to sleep, her brain wasn't cooperating. No matter how she closed her eyes, her mind was still running, thinking about possible things that may happ
When they reached their home, Zren accompanied the twins until they fell asleep, making sure that they were okay. After she confirmed that the two were already fast asleep. She exited the room and went downstairs. The lights were already off so the whole house was dark and silent. Only the dim light from the moon that pierced through the cracks of the curtains slightly lit up the place. When she reached her destination which was the kitchen, Zren didn't turn on the lights, instead, she used her phone's flashlight as a guide. She then opened the fridge and took out several cans of flavored liquor and some chips from the cupboard.Placing the things she just gathered on the counter and sit beside them, Zren opened a can of beer and the packaging of the chips. In the depth of darkness, Zren stared at nothing, she just silently continued to eat and drink with an uncaring blank expression. Her mind was full of thoughts, both good and bad. They confused and fogged her clear mind making her
A child’s frustrated scream echoed throughout the hallway as two kids who exactly looked like each other exited the bathroom, running in Zren’s direction. One was wearing a grumpy expression, his eyebrows met with each other as he threw a sharp glare at the boy who exactly looked like him.“He kept interrupting me to pee! I hate him! He kept banging the door even though he knew I was inside!” Zhen aggrievedly told his mom about Xhyne’s annoying tricks. He buried his head in Zren's stomach to hide his teary eyes.“Hehe, s-so are you still able to pee?” Zren asked pretending that everything was fine while trying to look calm. Even though right now her heart was thumping like a wild boar inside her ribcage. She was freaking nervous!Meeting Weidon here was the last thing she ever expected! This damn destiny was really messing with her.Zren pulled the twins near her and squeezed their hands to comfort herself. She looked at Weidon whose expression was unexplainable. His eyes were glued t
Zren leaned on the back of her chair and put both of her feet on the table. She played with the pen on one hand and used the other to hold her phone.“So you guys finally know the truth. Finally.”“How did you know?” Weidon replied with a question.Zren smiled and looked outside where she could see the small-looking building of Weidon’s company from her point of view.“Why don’t you guess? I don’t think you need a clue, I know you’re smart enough to figure it out.”The moment Zren let go of those words, Weidon’s gaze automatically fell on the flash drive plugged into the laptop. He took it out and sure enough, there was a small device plastered on it.Saven was about to curse when Zren spoke again.“I already proved my identity. I am not Celestine so let’s stop this hatred thingy. I don’t know you, you don’t know me. End of discussion.”Zren was about to end the call when she remembered something.“Anyway, Elcid, let’s just meet some other time, I have something to do later.”She swor
