Alpha Doyle

A short time later, I left Sean’s room and made my way back to the bedroom Lena and I were staying in. When I entered the room, I was surprised when I saw her still in bed. Lena wasn’t usually one for sleeping in. In the time I had known her she put my daughters to shame when it came to getting out of bed early. My daughters had always been the type of girls to burrow under the covers and sleep until almost lunch time. Lena was like a breath of fresh air first thing of a morning. I walked over to her and stood beside the bed.

“What are you still doing in bed, love?” I asked.

“Planning on hibernating for the remainder of our trip while cuddling your pillow,” she replied.

I grinned at her; she was adorable. “Why bother hugging my pillow when you could hug me instead?” I asked her in a teasing tone.

“Well, you were busy. Hey, I need to talk to you about something,” she said, reaching out and patting the bed beside her.

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 92

Storm Over the next couple of days Lilly, Julie and I were spending nearly all our free time together while Leah was trying to get to know her mate Mike. Although, if I was being honest, she tended to spend more time running away and hiding from him than she did trying to get to know him. And while I found her antics a little amusing, I had to admit that I was still on the fence about the guy. I knew that his possessiveness and his temper flare-ups unsettled Leah, and I honestly couldn’t say that I blamed her. If I were her, I would have been terrified out of my mind being fated to be with someone like that for the rest of my life. Seeing how Mike was acting at the moment, succeeded in making me appreciate how much care Doyle had taken when he had learned we were mates. Doyle had been intent upon helping me to be at ease when we had first found out we were fated to be together, whereas Mike seemed to be all about Mike. Leah had told us she had held

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 93

Storm Two weeks later We had been back from Italy for two weeks when Leah had come down to breakfast one morning and made it evident to all of us, she had accepted Mike as her mate. They had completed the mating process, and she had proudly shown us her mark as she had sat down with us to have breakfast; I had noticed that while Mike had marked Leah; she hadn’t marked him in return. We all congratulated her on her decision, but despite Leah’s decision, Mike was still not on my list of favourite people. I had decided that he wouldn’t be endeared to me until he had proven himself to me and to the pack. I needed him to prove himself as a worthy mate to Leah and as a worthy member of this pack. Leah deserved nothing but the best. The same went for Lilly and Julie. I only wanted the best for them. After we had learned of Leah’s decision, that night after we had eaten our dinner, Doyle and I had made our way into the lounge roo

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 94

Storm Five months later As my pregnancy has progressed, Doyle has made it a point to never be too far from my side. I don’t have long now until my baby is due. Although I am not as large as most humans are when they get closer to the end of their pregnancy. I still have a cute little baby bump. Doyle has made it a habit of placing his hands on my baby bump and talking to the baby every chance he gets. I find it adorable the way he always talks to the baby. Whenever he does it, he is always so careful and so gentle, and his gentleness only makes me love him more. Doyle and I have had many times where we have discussed names throughout the course of my pregnancy. However, we could never bring ourselves to settle on any of the names we had mentioned. I was looking forward to meeting our baby. The closer my due date got, the more excited I became. The pack has its own hospital, and we had been going there for all my prenatal appointments. Wh

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 95

Storm Since we had arrived at the hospital, things had gone by in a blur. My labour has progressed along, and Doyle and I have now been up at the hospital for over two hours. I clung to his hand, trying to reassure him I was fine. I knew that this must be difficult for him after everything he had been through with his previous mate. Looking over at me, he asked, “Are you okay?” “I’m fine, it just hurts, that’s all,” I replied giving his hand a gentle squeeze. I had opted to go through my labour drug-free. I didn’t want to risk my baby’s health by dosing up on pain medication. I was satisfied I could do this without the use of pharmaceuticals. I kept taking deep breaths in and out and trying to keep my mind clear so the pain couldn’t get to me and take me over. With Mason and my dad, I had experienced pain before for sure, but this pain was unlike anything I had ever felt before. Doctor Shailer had been monitoring my progress, and it wasn

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 96

Storm I was alone in the room with Doctor Shailer and the baby. The moment Doyle had left, Doctor Shailer had closed and latched the door and had stayed with me while I gave the baby a feed. I soon learned that breastfeeding wasn’t as easy as it looked. Getting the baby to latch on and making sure that he was getting enough nourishment as I soon found out was a tedious task. It made me realise why so many women chose to use bottles to feed their babies. It was faster, and you could see how much milk your baby was really consuming. That afternoon, Doctor Shailer told me she was happy with how the baby, and I were doing, and we were allowed to go home, which I was thankful for. I just wanted to go home and be away from prying eyes. The number of random pack members that had stopped in to see the baby at the hospital had gotten to be rather exhausting. Later that day, it was just going on late afternoon when we had gotten home. I was up in the nursery, sitting in

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 97

Storm Storm Following Dalton’s birth, I had to adapt to the changes in my circumstances being a new mother brings. I hardly let the baby out of my sight and had woken up regularly throughout the night to check on him. It was a strange thing, being responsible for this little life that totally depended on me. Doyle was trying to get me into a routine which would have me living my life normally, the keyword here being trying. I was afraid to take the baby outdoors as I feared rogue attacks on the pack, and I was hesitant to leave the baby alone with anyone. My first major trial as a new mother came when Dalton had to have his check-up with Doctor Shailer and Doyle was away with Sean attending a meeting at a neighbouring pack that was situated about three hours away. I would have asked Siobhan to accompany me to the appointment, but she had gone on a shopping trip with Julie. Leah and Lilly were home with me, but Lilly had quarantined herself because she

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 98

Storm When we arrived back at the pack house, my wolf was growling inside my head and pacing back and forth. Something was obviously wrong. I knew that Lilly had been the only person left at home. Suddenly I just knew Lilly was in trouble, I didn’t know how I knew, but I felt it with every fibre of my being. Looking at Leah, I said, “Look after the baby please. Hide somewhere. Don’t come inside yet.” Not waiting for a reply, I went straight inside, leaving Leah with the baby. I made my way upstairs to Lillie’s room and I had just gotten to the bedroom door, when I heard a horrified scream come from within. Kicking open the door, I took in the sight before me. Lilly’s rooms had been trashed. There was blood on the floor and on one of the walls. Lilly was being pinned to the floor by two men, and I was almost barrelled over by Sophie, as she bolted out of the room in a panic. Phasing into my wolf, I ran as fast as I could at the two men,

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 99

Storm Eight weeks later Life had settled down after Lilly’s attempted abduction, and since the birth of Dalton. With the baby we had stumbled into a kind of rushed and yet comfortable but still chaotic routine. Dalton was growing rapidly, and the trusted members of our pack who inhabited our household were delighted to help us out with him when we needed them to do so. Lilly was getting back to her old self, although she was still jumpy and refused to sleep in her old bedroom. Leah, and Julie had moved her belongings into one of the spare rooms and had gotten it all set up for her. Siobhan had handled getting Lillie’s old room repainted and recarpeted. I hadn’t seen Sophie since Lilly’s attempted abduction, but I was looking forward to seeing her. Hopefully, I would see her sometime soon, then I would rip her apart. Lilly and I hadn’t told anyone about Sophie’s part in Lilly’s abduction attempt. We were sitting on it so that we coul

  • Trapped in the Storm   Epilogue

Storm The next morning, Doyle was so excited about the pregnancy that he couldn’t contain his excitement. From the moment we had woken up, he had been grinning like the cat that had gotten the cream, the milk, and the canary. When we had gotten Dalton and gone downstairs, he had announced it to everyone at the breakfast table. There had been cheers and congratulations and a few dirty jokes, but everyone was just as excited as we were about our new little surprise. After breakfast, Doyle had announced a pack meeting just as he had promised he would, and we had left to go to the place where my induction ceremony had taken place. When we arrived, I had looked at all the pack members who had been so warm and welcoming towards me and who could not contain their joy for me and Doyle when Dalton had been born; they had welcomed me into the pack as if I was part of their family. Now I was a little worried that they were all going to hate me

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 108

Storm We had flown back to Ireland, and I was glad to be back home. Doyle and I had hugged our baby boy close as soon as we had gotten home, and we had spent the evening watching movies with Leah, Lilly, and Julie. Mike had joined us as well. It had been a good family night. Before we had left Texas, Winter had pulled me aside and asked me so many questions about my life in Ireland. I know she wanted to make sure that I was happy, and that I was safe. I understood the protective side of her. She had stepped into the role of my mother right after our mother had been killed. I had explained everything to her. I had told her about Dalton, and I had explained to her that as a mother, I had held off mentioning him before, because I was protecting him. My baby had been the most important thing in my life, and I couldn’t risk Mason or our father finding out about his existence. As a new mother, Winter understood where I was coming from in that matter. We had talked about ou

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 107

Storm "I am only going to say this once, so all of you fuckers had better listen. I mean it, every single one of you. Even if Winter, Leon, Finn, and I have to tag-team it and fight our way through every member of this pack and have bodies piling up left, right and centre. I can firmly assure you, one way or another Finn and Leon will be the Alpha’s of this pack by sundown. Or at least what would be left of this pack anyway, because if anyone has earned the right to go on a killing spree through this fucked up pack… it is me! And rest assured if I start fighting any of you, those two will be right in the thick of it, so good luck with that,” I said, pointing to Doyle and Sean. “Now Josh, pull your head out of your ass and think before you speak. Because, since I have been back here, all you mutts have been acting as if this is all my fault. Like things suddenly went bad after I left! Lightbulb moment for all of you. Things were always bad in this pack and had been si

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 106

Storm I looked back towards the pack and said, “Members of the Hunter's Moon Pack as the two rightful heirs to this pack my sister Winter and I are going to install leadership for this pack. So, may I present to you, our choices for dual leadership, Leon, and Finn Weber. They are Alpha Felix’s brothers, so they are from an Alpha family, and they have our full support in this matter. So, if all of you screw up, we will all kick you asses.” Josh stepped forward, “Like hell, no way! You pair of traitorous bastards ran away like little cowards in the dead of the night. Where were the two of you when the pack was under attack? Hiding just like cowards, that’s where! Neither one of you deserves to be Alpha of this pack!” Josh spat; anger clearly displayed on his face. “And let me guess Josh. I suppose you think you deserve to be the Alpha of this pack!” I said looking at Josh and laughing in disgust. “I would be a better Alpha then either of you!” he

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 105

Storm As soon as we landed in Texas, Doyle hired an SUV to take us to the Hunter’s Moon pack’s territory. Upon our arrival there, it surprised me to see just how much damage had been done during the attack. There were burned out structures everywhere, and I could tell by the small number of people that were out and about tidying up, that the pack had suffered quite a significant loss in pack numbers. As soon as people saw me, I began receiving looks of hostility and blame. I didn’t let this phase me though. I didn’t like these people any more than they liked me. And as far as I was concerned, I didn’t care what they thought of me. I was standing beside Doyle and Sean when I sent a text to Winter. Me: Back in hell, where are you? Winter: Back on Texas soil, be with you soon xx Looking at one of the men who was standing nearby, I said, “You need to call a pack meeting now. Every pack member must be in attendance. Tell all the p

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 104

Storm During the flight I went and lay down in the master bedroom. I had so much on my mind, and I was totally wiped out. Plus, I was concerned about my baby. Separation anxiety had kicked in big time and had left me crying just like a baby. A while later, after my cry baby episode, I was laying in the dark trying to clear my head when Doyle came in. When he looked at me, he could see I had been crying. He came over to the bed and lay down beside me, pulling me into his arms. I lay there in his arms, with my head on his chest. “What’s wrong?” he asked. “Separation anxiety,” I whispered. “You’re missing Dalton?” he asked. I nodded in answer to his question. “I miss him already,” I whispered. “That is normal love. You will be worrying until you have him in your arms again and can see with your own eyes that he is safe,” he replied. I lifted my head, bracing all my weight on my right arm. I looked down at him for a moment before p

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 103

Storm Three weeks later I was in the nursery restocking baby supplies with Leah when Lilly came upstairs to tell me that Doyle wanted to see me in his office. “Why didn’t he just use mind link and tell me?” I asked. “I don’t know, he just told me that if I saw you, I was to tell you he wanted to see you in his office,” Lilly replied. “Better go down there, you don’t want to keep him waiting,” Leah said. I walked out of the nursery and made my way to Doyle’s office. When I got there, I saw that Sean was sitting at Doyle’s desk, in the chair opposite Doyle. I walked in and closed the door behind me. “We have got some news for you,” Doyle said as I walked over to his desk. “Okay…” I replied, taking a seat beside Sean. “We have received word that the Hunter’s Moon pack was attacked and that the pack has lost many of their pack members. I thought you should know,” Doyle said, watching me closely so he could get

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 102

Storm “Lena, what the fuck?” snapped James glaring at me. “Watch your mouth!” Sean snapped back. “You don’t ever speak to your Luna like that, or you will have me to deal with! Do you understand me?” Doyle asked glaring at James. “Yes Alpha, my apologies,” James said lowering his eyes. “Don’t apologise to me boy, apologies are owed to your Luna,” Doyle growled. “Apologies Luna,” James said looking at me. I met his gaze and just gave him a deep guttural growl. So, he could lower his eyes in respect to Doyle, but not to me. Suddenly I was annoyed, and my wolf was feeling bitchy and decided she needed to show it. She decided it was time to call James out on his shit and I agreed with her. It was past time to sort this crap out. Opening my mind link to the pack members within the room, I asked, “James, where were you and Daniel the day that the girls and I went for a run and got attacked by the rogues at the stream? You and

  • Trapped in the Storm   Chapter 101

Storm After my father’s phone call, we finished up our pack business in Doyle’s office before making our way downstairs to check on Liam and the girls and the baby. When I got downstairs, I saw James and Daniel and James’ mate Sophie in the lounge room with Liam and the others. Well, well, well looks like today is my lucky day. It had been ages since I had seen Daniel and James, so it surprised me to see them and Sophie sitting there with Liam and the girls like it was an everyday occurrence. Sophie was getting too close to Leah and Dalton for my liking. After what that bitch had tried to do to Lilly, my wolf and I wanted her dead. I looked at Lilly who was sitting in the lounge's corner suite, curled up in a ball and looking like she was about to burst into tears. I could feel my wolf clawing within me to get out and wanting to kill Sophie to protect Dalton and Lilly. Before I could lock her down, my wolf took total control, and she forcibly shifted me int
