Chapter 2: Snake Tattoo

Amanda

Lena Dunham was taken to the hospital the same day my father was buried, because she had thrown a tantrum like a little child and had cried her eyes out that day, and finally fainted.

I kept on going to the hospital every day to check up on her and take care of her. She was a very cute woman, and you could mistake her for a teenager, sometimes, but she was very well into her late twenties and was some years older than I.

To me, she was one crazy woman, who tried to steal the spotlight and spew rubbish on the day my father was buried.

My father had no other child or children. I was sure of it, or maybe I was really hoping against all odds that he didn't., and that I was right.

Lena had been unconscious for thirty-two hours, and when she finally woke up, I was relieved.

"How are you feeling?" I tried to touch her cheek, but she pushed my hand off violently.

"Don't touch me, you vile woman!" She flung the ceramic cup which was on a desk close to her bed at me, but I dodged, barely sustaining a crash on my upper arm. This woman was indeed crazy!

"Calm down!" I cajoled, even though I was a little scared. I stood up and took the chair some meters away from her bed. "Since you've woken up, we need to talk..."

"I have nothing to say to you!" She said blatantly and looked away from me. I couldn't read her expression. Her eyes were beginning to water again, and she had three marks across her cheeks, which one could easily mistake as tribal marks, which she kept on touching.

"What happened to you there?" I asked, trying to change the topic to get her to be comfortable with me first. That way, she might open up and tell me everything.

"Nothing that concerns you..." Her voice was flat and it was clear that she didn't want to talk to me.

"See, Lena, I just want to get to the root of this. You claimed to be my father's daughter, that invariably makes you my sister..."

"I am not your father's daughter and you aren't my Sister, Amanda!" She screamed at the top of her voice. "I am Dean Geoffrey's daughter. I don't know who you are or how you got entangled with my father. However, I know a couple of things about you... You had better watch your back, because it wouldn't be easy for you."

"What do you mean?" My stomach sank and my heart began to beat very fast. My father didn't have any other children besides me... He didn't! He can't!

"Get out of my room!" She screamed, interrupting my bizarre thoughts. "Get out! Leave!" She stood up and hit me with another ceramic cup again, but the doctor walked in and stopped her. There was another man with the Doctor... A man who looked very much like my husband, Jason Grey!

I didn't pay much attention to the second man. I was too distracted to think straight.

"You may have to leave, now, Amanda!" The Doctor held me by my hand and gestured toward the door, "Lena needs to rest and she's getting hysterical. You may come back tomorrow."

I left the hospital premises, determined to get to the root of everything, but I had an accident while going back home, and lost most of my past memories... especially the ones that had Lena Dunham in them.

"I made breakfast for you," I approached Jason, who was already dressed for work and ready to go out. He had on the suit I got him for his birthday last year, and he looked as handsome as ever. I didn't know how I fell in love with Jason, or how it happened; but, with every day that passed, my heart fluttered whenever I saw him.

He moved over to the dining table and settled into the seat. He undid his tie, and loosened his belt a little, then began eating.

I stood and watched him as he ate, wondering why he was at the same hospital as Lena years ago, and if he was having an affair with her. I had so many questions, but I didn't know how to ask him.

"Aren't you going to eat? Why are you still standing?" He dropped his fork, stood up, and held my waist from behind. I flinched under his touch, wondering why he was suddenly being romantic. Something was up. Jason Grey hadn't touched me ever since our wedding night.

"I... I was just..." He cupped my face fiercely, his fingers scratching my skin as he did so, and kissed me long and hard, as though he had been starving for some time now. I melted under his touch, and I had a burning desire to make love to him.

He trailed kisses down my neck, and undid my dress, cupping my breast with one hand, and playing with my belly button, with the other hand. My knees buckled and I lost all reasoning and kissed him fiercely right back.

"Jason, I love you," I blurted shamelessly, amidst hot kisses from him, but he stopped abruptly, and looked at me squarely.

"You love me?" He scoffed, "You just had to spoil this beautiful moment, didn't you?"

"No, I didn't mean to..."

He put his index finger against my lips and proceeded to slide it right inside my mouth. I closed my eyes and sucked at it like a hungry little child, who had been deprived of his favorite candy.

I could hear him laugh hysterically, as though he was enjoying the whole process. I opened my eyes and noticed him staring at me with utmost disgust.

I stopped and stepped away from him, scared that I had done something wrong again. But he approached me intently. He tore my dress open, ruining my beautiful floral dress, and continued where he had stopped. I wanted to push him away.

I wanted to bite him hard and tell him to leave me alone, but, instead, I found myself kissing him deeply and making love to him, right there in the dining room. After we were done, there was an awkward silence in the room.

He wore his jacket silently, and just as I was helping him to fasten his wrist button, something shocking caught my eye... The same tattoo! It was the same as Lena's. The same

exact tattoo on the same spot above his wrist. My hands froze as I looked steadily at the tattoo. How was this even possible?
