Amanda
Lena Dunham was taken to the hospital the same day my father was buried, because she had thrown a tantrum like a little child and had cried her eyes out that day, and finally fainted. I kept on going to the hospital every day to check up on her and take care of her. She was a very cute woman, and you could mistake her for a teenager, sometimes, but she was very well into her late twenties and was some years older than I. To me, she was one crazy woman, who tried to steal the spotlight and spew rubbish on the day my father was buried. My father had no other child or children. I was sure of it, or maybe I was really hoping against all odds that he didn't., and that I was right. Lena had been unconscious for thirty-two hours, and when she finally woke up, I was relieved. "How are you feeling?" I tried to touch her cheek, but she pushed my hand off violently. "Don't touch me, you vile woman!" She flung the ceramic cup which was on a desk close to her bed at me, but I dodged, barely sustaining a crash on my upper arm. This woman was indeed crazy! "Calm down!" I cajoled, even though I was a little scared. I stood up and took the chair some meters away from her bed. "Since you've woken up, we need to talk..." "I have nothing to say to you!" She said blatantly and looked away from me. I couldn't read her expression. Her eyes were beginning to water again, and she had three marks across her cheeks, which one could easily mistake as tribal marks, which she kept on touching. "What happened to you there?" I asked, trying to change the topic to get her to be comfortable with me first. That way, she might open up and tell me everything. "Nothing that concerns you..." Her voice was flat and it was clear that she didn't want to talk to me. "See, Lena, I just want to get to the root of this. You claimed to be my father's daughter, that invariably makes you my sister..." "I am not your father's daughter and you aren't my Sister, Amanda!" She screamed at the top of her voice. "I am Dean Geoffrey's daughter. I don't know who you are or how you got entangled with my father. However, I know a couple of things about you... You had better watch your back, because it wouldn't be easy for you." "What do you mean?" My stomach sank and my heart began to beat very fast. My father didn't have any other children besides me... He didn't! He can't! "Get out of my room!" She screamed, interrupting my bizarre thoughts. "Get out! Leave!" She stood up and hit me with another ceramic cup again, but the doctor walked in and stopped her. There was another man with the Doctor... A man who looked very much like my husband, Jason Grey! I didn't pay much attention to the second man. I was too distracted to think straight. "You may have to leave, now, Amanda!" The Doctor held me by my hand and gestured toward the door, "Lena needs to rest and she's getting hysterical. You may come back tomorrow." I left the hospital premises, determined to get to the root of everything, but I had an accident while going back home, and lost most of my past memories... especially the ones that had Lena Dunham in them. ******** "I made breakfast for you," I approached Jason, who was already dressed for work and ready to go out. He had on the suit I got him for his birthday last year, and he looked as handsome as ever. I didn't know how I fell in love with Jason, or how it happened; but, with every day that passed, my heart fluttered whenever I saw him. He moved over to the dining table and settled into the seat. He undid his tie, and loosened his belt a little, then began eating. I stood and watched him as he ate, wondering why he was at the same hospital as Lena years ago, and if he was having an affair with her. I had so many questions, but I didn't know how to ask him. "Aren't you going to eat? Why are you still standing?" He dropped his fork, stood up, and held my waist from behind. I flinched under his touch, wondering why he was suddenly being romantic. Something was up. Jason Grey hadn't touched me ever since our wedding night. "I... I was just..." He cupped my face fiercely, his fingers scratching my skin as he did so, and kissed me long and hard, as though he had been starving for some time now. I melted under his touch, and I had a burning desire to make love to him. He trailed kisses down my neck, and undid my dress, cupping my breast with one hand, and playing with my belly button, with the other hand. My knees buckled and I lost all reasoning and kissed him fiercely right back. "Jason, I love you," I blurted shamelessly, amidst hot kisses from him, but he stopped abruptly, and looked at me squarely. "You love me?" He scoffed, "You just had to spoil this beautiful moment, didn't you?" "No, I didn't mean to..." He put his index finger against my lips and proceeded to slide it right inside my mouth. I closed my eyes and sucked at it like a hungry little child, who had been deprived of his favorite candy. I could hear him laugh hysterically, as though he was enjoying the whole process. I opened my eyes and noticed him staring at me with utmost disgust. I stopped and stepped away from him, scared that I had done something wrong again. But he approached me intently. He tore my dress open, ruining my beautiful floral dress, and continued where he had stopped. I wanted to push him away. I wanted to bite him hard and tell him to leave me alone, but, instead, I found myself kissing him deeply and making love to him, right there in the dining room. After we were done, there was an awkward silence in the room. He wore his jacket silently, and just as I was helping him to fasten his wrist button, something shocking caught my eye... The same tattoo! It was the same as Lena's. The same exact tattoo on the same spot above his wrist. My hands froze as I looked steadily at the tattoo. How was this even possible?JasonWith my hands inside my side pockets, I took long strides towards my office which was just upstairs.I reflected on the events of the previous night and a sigh escaped my lips. What a wrong timing! Lena could literely act as though she was dumb sometimes. When I finally reached the office, I opened it swiftly and entered, immediately settling down behind my working desk.I brought out my phone and checked if my wife had left me a text or if she had called, but I found nothing.Lena had been filling in as my personal assittant for as long as I can remember and I knew that she was going to walk in any moment. The door slid open and a lady in a blue suit walked in briskly. She walked up to my walking desk, then leaned in to kiss me.“Not now, Lena!”Lena jerked upwards and took a few steps backwards. She stared at me long and hard, wondering why he seemed off this morning.“Why are you here?” I ask with a calmer voice as I stared up at her from my laptop, a faraway look on my face
AmandaI woke up to the blinding splash of sunlight from the partially opened curtains. I spread out my hands in an attempt to feel for my husband, but I felt the ruffled bedspread and duvet, instead. He is not here!I breathed out a huge sigh of relief, then sat up carefully and felt for my hair bonnet. It must have fallen off while I was sleeping. The memories of last night came flooding in without a filter… Lena's abrupt visit and audacity and Jason's stinging slap against my left cheek left his imprint on my cheek. Then, his persistent advances after he had entered our bedroom last night. When I did not oblige, he forced himself on me and had his way.I tried to stand up and walk towards the dressing table but my legs felt wobbly. Hence, I took slow but calculative steps until I reached the dressing table. One look at the mirror, and I could see that the hand imprint Jason had left on my left cheek last night was gone.“Phew!” I exhaled loudly, as relief washed over me. At least t
AmandaI looked up as soon as I heard Lena's voice. How could a woman be so shameless and bold?I felt like running inside my room. I was not sure that I had the nerve to talk to Lena the way that I really wanted to. However, on second thought, I decided that I would not. “You do have guts, Lena! What are you doing in my house by this time of the night?”I stood up consciously because I didn't want it to be obvious that I was actually trembling from head to toe.Actually, my reassurance was that Suzie was in the house. I could never do this if it were just my husband, Lena, and me in the house because they would definitely not let me go scot-free.Lena's shrieking laughter brought me out of my reverie.“You are just Jason's wife in name, and you know it! Do you not have self-respect? I really can't understand why you are still in this marriage when it is clear that my man does not love you,” Lena finished in one breath. She flipped her hair backward, and I could see the heavy makeup s
Jason “I'm sorry, Suzie, truly, I am,” The doctor started and I could feel a smile begin to form at the corners of my mouth, but I struggled to appear neutral and emotionless throughout. The doctor leaned forward a little bit until her clasped hands were resting on the table, directly in front of her. She tapped on the table slowly, as though she was trying to show off her well-polished, beautiful nails. We sat a few meters away from her, just directly opposite her.“We tried everything we could, but Mark couldn't make it,” She finished off in one breath. It seemed as though she was avoiding making eye contact with either of us.I looked sideways at my sister. I couldn't tell what she was thinking or feeling, because she didn't wear her emotions on her face. I looked down at her hands which she placed on her thighs, and noticed that they were trembling. She tried to steady them by pressing on her fingers and taking deep breaths, but it seemed those hands had minds of their own.“Than
Amanda The moment Jason and I walked into the house, the sweet aroma of dumplings wafted through my nose. I knew instantly that my sister-in-law was in the kitchen. Suzie came out, so I dropped my bag on the chair and went into her open arms in an embrace.“Why are you wearing such a long face?” She asked me.“I am very tired, Suzie,” I said. “I just want to have a hot bath, eat, and go to bed. I had a very long day.”“Yeah, you are right,” Suzie said. “I'll make you and my brother, Jason, some snacks to eat, first. Just go and freshen up, first, okay?”“So, you can see me, after all?” I heard Jason say as I walked up the stairs to my room.I hurriedly pulled off my clothes and kept them in the basket. I planned on doing the laundry the next day.Next, I removed my jewelry carefully and dropped it in one of my cute little jewelry boxes. When I was finally fully undressed, I entered the beautifully colored and scented bathtub and lowered myself until the water was at the length of m
SuzieI couldn't believe my eyes. I pinched myself lightly to be sure that I wasn't dreaming, and I felt a slight pain on the spot.I looked sideways and noticed that my brother was observing me closely. It looked as though blood drained from his face because he looked unusually pale. His eyes kept darting here and there as though he was looking for reassurance that I would be fine.“Did you invite him over?”My brother asked me.“No, I didn't,” I replied. “I didn't even give him the address of this place. I'm as shocked as you are, Jason.”… But then, the voice from the door interrupted us.“P– pl— please, th– the door,” the person at the door slurred. Jason and I exchanged quick glances before Jason checked the door again.“I don't know… it feels as though he were hurt or something.” I felt a painful churn in my stomach, and my legs felt wobbly.“S– Suz– Suzie, pl– please, help me!” With my heart on my sleeve, I didn't think twice before I brought the passkey and opened the door.H
