Aiden's POV
As I sprinted through the dense forest, my wolf, Black, taking the lead, a surge of anticipation coursed through my veins. The mate bond guided my every step, drawing me closer to the one who would complete me.Black's instincts honed in on her presence, the faint scent of her unique smell of lavender and chamomile mingling with the forest air filled every bit of me, leaving Black Restless as ever. And then, I saw her while long hair shimmered in the moonlight and her fragile body about to fall on the ground, her delicate form shrouded in pain and vulnerability. My heart clenched, a mixture of protectiveness and relief flooding my being.Within the blink of an eye, black was beside her grabbing her in his arms, she blinked twice, her beautiful electric green eyes met mine before she closed them. I took over my wolf, kneeling and kept her gently on the ground and examined her.I plucked a few leaves from nearby plants, crushed them and applied it on Ella's feet as a scorpion bite and the left leg. She sprained her ankle, her eyelids fluttered, and she groaned in pain as I touched the swollen ankle. But she nozzle and went back to sleep. Feeling better.Scooping her in my arms, we needed to go somewhere save as the forest of warriors searching for something or someone in particular. I don't know anything yet, but my beautiful mate here seems to be running away from someone or them. ....She slept for a whole day that's making Black go on edge to talk, I had to calm him down because he wants to get to know her more. I'm worried about her past, she is perfectly healed by now and is sleeping peacefully. Is she sleep deprived and abused because I saw traces of yet to heal scars around her neck. The men were gone now after they were tired of searching. I found a discarded tunnel nearby amidst the woods and sought refuge there, thanks to Alpha Celeb hard warrior training and hunting skills. I'm no stranger to the woods. I can live there perfectly and comfortably without leaving any trace.Sitting next to her as the sunset dyed her white hair pinkish orange, her skin is beautiful. I sat in front of her taking in her view for what now I've known every detail about her face. From the long bangs that almost cover her eyes, her long lashes, her short pointed nose and her plumb full libs. I can't take my eyes away from her. She shifts under my shirt I use to cover her. She gradually wakes up. Her eyes flickered open, and our gazes met. I can feel the time stopped, lost in her electric green eyes that beams under the setting sun, she seems familiar. "You are awake?" I uttered, breaking the silence. " Here, wash up and eat this. I passed the grilled meat. "Umm.. yeah," she let out a cute yawn and glanced at the surroundings. "How long was I sleeping?" She asked, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand."It's been a day since you've been sleeping.""Ohh... I see.""Yeah."And with that small awkward conversation she stood up to wash her face. But end up taking a bath in the lake nearby.....It was already night and we sat down after eating the grilled deer meat. She had been more comfortable than earlier, it seems she grew a strong wall in her heart that found it hard to trust people even for her mate. She seems to go through much and I really wanted to know but don't want her to feel uncomfortable. Plus I'm not good with words or how to make people feel comfortable, it will be an easy thing for Jayden. He always was a people person and one of the things I admire about him. "Err...You seem familiar, I think I've seen you before but can't remember where." I asked. She was quiet for a while, staring at the stars above us. The scenery is beautiful and perfect. I hope she opens up now, she always answers with a hum, no or yes that makes it hard to communicate."Well, I'm Aiden. Aiden Cole, and I know you sense the ... our mate bond. I was worried about not finding my mate. Who would have thought I would find you on my way back home." I continued, trying to make a decent chat, and hearing my name she was amazed and interested."Aide?" She whispered, trying to confirm for herself. There was a moment of recognition, a spark of familiarity that passed between us. It was then that I saw it in her eyes—the dawning realisation that we were more than just mates. We were also childhood friends, long separated by fate's cruel hand."Aide?" She spoke again, her voice was barely a whisper, filled with a mix of surprise and disbelief.I nodded, it was her, she was the only one that called me with that. "Yes, Ella. It's me, I can't believe it's you." There are many questions I have for her for the years we spent apart, the shared memories that had been tucked away in the recesses of our minds. It was a strange twist of fate, to have found each other again in this manner, as mates in the midst of chaos."Where is Jayden, and everyone I'm the pack? What are you doing out here?" Her eyes brimmed up with tears. "Everyone's fine and worried about you. We searched and searched for you, and at last thought you were dead. But I always feel it deep down that you are still alive and would keep searching for you." I let out a heavy sigh. "And here we are, I found you but the marks on you burn my heart to know you've been through much." Where are you all these while? And where... Are Beta Really dead?" I rambled with fury filled in my heart, wanting to know just who did that to her. Her emotions hold a sign of hurt, sadness and a gleam of wanting revenge. I can sense that she was not just the fragile little El I know, this one is stronger and has the eyes of the one who wants revenge. I gazed into Ella's eyes, searching for the courage to break the silence that enveloped us. I had to know so I could end him."Ella," I began, my voice steady but tinged with a hint of vulnerability. "I want to understand. Tell me who did this?" I asked to come closer and trace the scar around her neck, it sent a spark through me and I know she felt it too. Her expression shifted, a mixture of pain and hurt and sad etched across her beautiful face. She took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before she spoke. Her voice quivered slightly as she recounted her harrowing experiences."A Alpha River was the one who found me and took me to his pack, the Bloodmoon pack. And my whole life there was a nightmare," she whispered, her eyes glazing over with memories she wished she could forget. "His Luna, Scarlett and his Alpha River... they ruled with an iron fist, and torture me however they want. I was their plaything, subjected to their cruel whims. All the captives in the pack lived in fear, and we were trapped in a world of constant torment."My fists clenched involuntarily as her words resonated within me. Black was in rage. 'I'll kill that son of a bitch, how dare he touch our mate!' I felt the same rage towards Alpha River, I wanted to storm into his pack and pull his heart from his chest, my heart fuels my desire for revenge. But I pushed those emotions aside, calming myself down, I have to focus on Ella and I need to calm her now, she needs me now more than ever. "I'm so sorry, Ella," I said, my voice laced with regret. "I wish I had known. I wish I could have protected you."Ella reached out, her hand brushing against mine, offering a small comfort amidst the darkness that surrounded us. "It's not your fault. Aide, you didn't know where I was. What matters now is I'm out of there, and we have each other, and I'll be back to my pack." She rubbed my finger and smiled. Her words and her smile penetrated the walls I had built around my emotions, and a flicker of gratitude washed over me. Ella's strength in the face of adversity inspired me to share my own journey. With every touch, a surge of electricity passed between us, intensifying the mate bond that connected our souls. It was as if our very beings recognized one another, responding to the undeniable pull drawing us closer. We let go of our inhibitions, allowing the currents of fate to guide us.Our fingers intertwined, sending shivers of warmth and comfort through our bodies. I could feel Ella's heartbeat in sync with mine, the rhythm of our connection echoing through our joined hands. It was a dance of souls, a testament to the unbreakable bond we shared. As we continued to explore this newfound connection, our touches became more deliberate, more intimate. A gentle caress of her cheek sent a wave of tenderness coursing through me, as if I could touch her very essence. I traced the lines of her face, committing every contour to memory, silently promising to cherish and protect her for eternity.Ella's eyes, filled with a mixture of vulnerability and trust, met mine. At that moment, there were no words needed. Our connection spoke volumes, weaving a tale of love, acceptance, and unwavering devotion.Leaning closer, our lips brushed against each other's, igniting a fire that burned deep within our souls. It was a kiss born of longing and yearning, a merging of two halves finally reunited. Our bodies moved in harmony, guided by an invisible force that only true mates could comprehend. As the kiss deepened, our embrace grew tighter, as if trying to meld our very beings into one. The world around us faded away, leaving only the two of us in this ethereal moment. Time ceased to exist as we surrendered to the magnetic force drawing us closer.Ella POV It's been days after my escape and finding my mate, who knew life would take a drastic turn, from the constant pain I get to never-ending love from my mate and childhood friend. It is one of the best times to travel out of the pack. We switch to our wolf and run in the woods for some time and find a place to sleep for sometime. I went bathing in the refreshing cold water in the nearby waterfall, and returned to where we camp for the night, my damp long hair cascading in loose waves down my shoulders. I can feel Aiden's mesmerising eyes fixed on me, pausing his task of grilling the deer he caught for our breakfast, he smiles warmly at me, making my heart flutter."Feeling refreshed, my love?" Aiden's voice was laced with affection as he took in my glistening body in the sun as I wore my clothes.I nodded, the cool droplets of water still clinging to my skin. "The waterfall is truly magical. It cleansed both my body and soul."He reached out to me, his touch gentle yet elect
Chapter Six – HomeElla's POVAs we approached the familiar borders of our pack, a mix of excitement and trepidation coursed through my veins. I clung tightly to Aiden's arm, seeking comfort in his presence as we prepared to face the pack that had been our home, and yet, a distant memory for so many years. The scent of pine and earth filled the air, enveloping us in a warm embrace as we stepped foot onto familiar grounds. It's been thirteen good years. I've always dreamt about walking through these gates, and here I am. The sight of familiar faces and bustling activity brought a smile to my lips, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation. We shifted from our wolves upon entering the Alpha's mansion, and we were welcomed by familiar faces, though older than the one I once knew and were taken to him.Alpha Brian, Aiden and Jayden's father, stood tall and regal, his eyes filled with pride and joy as he caught sight of us. The strong and tall man I knew back then had some lines
Ella's POV I left Aiden with the Alpha and went to the toilet to pour water on me, my body has been burning for some time now. My wolf seems to be unrest, Lea for some reason has been spurting nonsense about our mate. Even when Aiden is right by my side. I guess it is because the air feels kind of odd, not like it used to be thirteen years back when I had my parents still alive, in the pack and my best friend Jayden too, all of them are not here now. The Alpha said he was on a business trip and I can't wait to meet him. That made me keep looking out at the sea of faces for when he would return. I guess not everything goes as you expected. Life is not a dream after all.I stepped back into the grand hall of the mansion, the soft glow of chandeliers cast a warm ambiance over the room. I look at the place, it sure changes. Just then I felt a pang in my chest, then it started to beat fast like a drum beaten in a disco song. The scent of sandalwood and the subtle undertone of pine fille
Jayden's POVEl took deep breaths as if she was gathering what to say. "Jay, you're not the only one. I mean... What I'm trying to say is ... Aid... he's ...""Aiden is what? El what's going on?." I asked concern, seeing her nervous."Ella and I are mates." Aiden cut us off as we all turned to look at him."I forgot to tell you earlier. Ella is my mate, and was how I found her in the woods by our mate bond..""Wait... Wait? What do you mean? She is your? She's MY mate." I almost yelled. Getting most of the people's attention. Yeah, maybe I did yell. But what You expect me to do. My twin is just claiming my Mate.I cleared my throat looking at El. " What's he talking about El? Tell him you are my mate and not him."Aiden was silent, but fuming with anger at what I said. Probably thinking I'm not his mate or something. I always can't know what he's thinking. But I can see the veins on his head pop out. I know one thing for sure he is trying to calm Black his wolf such as I am trying to
Aiden's PoVAnger coursed through my veins like a wildfire, my wolf Black growling fiercely within me. It felt as if the ground beneath me was crumbling, my heart shattered into a million pieces. How could fate be so f**king cruel? To make the one I always loved my brother's mate as well? And Father is telling us to stay calm and check for what's written in some old book? In situations like this? Damn it! Damn It! Damn the F**t it."I can't, won't share!! Unforgivable! How lowly of us did they think upon all people how can we share our mate." Black growls loudly, making my headache."Darnnn it, Bee, can you stay calm!" For a second I yelled. "I'm trying best to stay calm and think." "Oh f**k, well now you too are ordering me to calm the f**king down? ""Think?" He chuckled. "What do you get to think twice about?" He let out a dry chuckle. "The only thing to do is only one A, we take Ella with us and leave this shitty place.""We had a wonderful and lovely time while coming back he
Ella's POV I sat alone in my room, the weight of what Aiden's said still heavy in my heart. How could he react with such anger and disappointment when he learned that Jayden, his own twin brother, was also my mate? It pained me to see the bond between them fractured, their once unbreakable connection now strained.Leaning against the window sill, and gazing out into the beautiful night sky, I seek solace in the twinkling stars. I need to understand what is going on between them, why their relationship changed so drastically over the years."Lea," I whispered, my voice filled with sadness and confusion. "How did this happen? How did their bond shatter like this?" I heaved, staring blankly at the sky. "They were so close when they were little." I wondered.Lea stirred within me. Her presence was comforting, a soothing presence amidst the chaos of my thoughts."El, we've been gone for a long time, and many things can happen that may bring this changes that have taken place between Aiden
Ella's POV Walking through the corridors of the pack's grand mansion, I was lost in my own thoughts, when Kristy spotted me, she is one of our childhood friends, the five of us were close. Aiden being the silent type and Kristy the carefree and bubbly one who always nags Aiden. Me and Jayden are inseparable, we have much alike, kind, and always good with the elders. And then Caleb, he is well, somewhere in-between, and whenever Aiden refused to play with Kristy he could offer to play with her. But she dislikes playing with him and continues to nag Aiden. She made her way towards me with boxes in her hand that were going to the library. With a smile tugged at the corners of her lips, I smiled back and quickened my pace to catch up with her."Hey, Ris!" I called out, my voice filled with genuine happiness. "Where are you heading? And how was your night?"She replied with a bright grin lighting up her face. "Great! Well, I don't know who or how I ended up in my room. It looks like I got
Ella's POVIt's been a week now, and it's been my daily routine to grab some more books in the library and go to my favourite spot in the garden to search for these books. I picked some by lunchtime, then finished searching for them and grabbed some to check before I went to sleep.Today like any other day, I made my way through the bustling hallways of the packhouse, exchanging warm greetings with familiar faces. The morning air was crisp and invigorating, infusing me with a sense of calm and clarity. As I approached the library, my heart fluttered with anticipation, eager for a new round and hoping to find something useful this time around. Stepping into the library, I inhaled the familiar scent of aged books and the promise of knowledge they held within their pages. My eyes scanned the shelves, searching for titles that piqued my interest. Soon enough, a stack of books accumulated in my arms, their weight a comforting presence. With a contented smile, I exited the library, ready
Ella's POV In the following moons, life carried on its familiar rhythms - hunts and harvests, births and naming days, petty dramas and festivals to punctuate the seasons' steady turn. Slowly Silver Fang territory healed, scars fading along with grief's bitter sting as gentle time worked her graceful magic. The trials had changed us, deepened insight and empathy for those yet struggling to overcome trauma's lingering shadow. But we found new confidence with each difficult page turned, wounds closing stronger for the necessary lancing. My mates stood as pillars supporting our people through aftershocks. But the desperate edge to their bond softened, jealousy and mistrust slowly leached away by shared purpose. Together they planned, strategized, gave counsel and judgement with the effortless synchronicity of two bodies sharing one spirit. None could deny they were Alphas in truth. The curse withered in such unity's light.Watching Aiden and Jayden walk the same measured path cheered
Ella's POVWarm spring sunshine streamed through the expansive windows of the great hall, bathing the lively scene in a golden glow. Long trestle tables practically groaned beneath the weight of sumptuous foods and libations laid out in overflowing bounty for our anniversary feast. The scents alone were intoxicating - roasted game, sweet cakes and fruity wines mingling with music, flowers and perfumes. Silver Fang spared no expense honoring traditions.I paused in an alcove to simply take in the joyful sight, heart full to bursting with profound gratitude. Even after everything, we had survived against the odds to gather once more in celebration of binding and new beginnings. Some sacred pact yet held between us, stewarding this family throughFire and shadow. We were still blessed beyond deserving.Gazing out over the sea of faces illuminated by smiles and flickering candles, I glimpsed so many who had walked beside me into the crucible and emerged together marching toward the light
Ella's POV As the first pale light of dawn crept over our encampment, I rose quietly, moving through familiar tent preparations to let my brave injured mates rest a while longer. Though we were victorious, the road ahead remained long. They deserved peace. "All is well, little moon. Watching you safe and near is balm after darkness." His sleep-roughened voice kindled a flush of happiness in my chest. Simply sharing in these small intimacies again was a gift beyond price after so much strife.>ì their strength, letting unspoken emotions settle. We had walked upon the precipice's crumbling edge, but somehow survived the brutal fall together. United, we could face whatever came next. Now it's time to go home, to my little Bella. But ominous prophecy still lurked beneath the fragile joy, its weight palpable in each careful touch, every fleeting vulnerable glance between us. Our family had weathered worse storms. With time and trust we would find our way, so long as we walked the rough
Ella's POVSeveral days passed swiftly as I regained my strength under the healers' diligent care. Soon I was able to move about freely and assist with the countless tasks required to restore order. Clearing rubble and digging mass pyres was sombre work, but it felt good to be useful again with my own two hands. The days of idleness had grated. When not busy with some menial but necessary duty, I spent hours with my precious daughter, singing lullabies to soothe her when the fortress's unfamiliar sounds proved frightening. Watching the pack experience the simple joys of sunlight on her face or wind in her fine hair grounded me through the chaos. The living yet commanded my devotion, not only the tragic dead. I could not dwell forever amidst ashes and ghosts. My brave mates also recovered apace, their resilience never failing to lift my spirit when they limped stiffly into view. Leaning on each other, we three made the rounds speaking words of comfort or stern encouragement as neede
Ella's POVThrough our sacred veins now coursed ancient magicks and prayers from generations long passed who had held fast to hope. Through us they yet fought on. We would not fail them. Before River could hurl his accursed sorcery I thrust both hands skyward, drawing down beams of pure light. Blinding light erupted from my outstretched palms, scouring away the shadows clinging to River's hulking form. The blessing entrusted to us could purge even direst darkness if called in faith. My eyes slid closed, willing my drained vessel to a conduit for its undiluted power. The concentrated blessing seared straight through to the festering wound at his core that had birthed such endless bitterness and cruelty. For less than a blink, I glimpsed it plainly and grieved. With a despairing wail, the broken creature dissolved to mist on the celestial winds until no trace remained. There could be no vengeance for mortal hearts now, only solemn release far kinder than fury's judgment might have de
Ella's POVA bone-chilling roar of agony echoed across the ravaged valley, cutting through the cacophony of battle like a knife. All fighting ceased for a suspended heartbeat as heads turned toward the sound's source. There, framed against the smoke-choked sky, stood the hulking form of River, face contorted in berserk rage. At his feet sprawled the mangled remains of his Luna Scarlet, her glassy eyes fixed unseeing on the ruin she had summoned forth. The sight seemed to shatter some fragile restraint on River's madness, his anguished bellow almost inhuman in its force. With slavering fury he turned on the cringing warriors nearby, spittle flying from his peeled-back lips. "Treacherous curse!" He yelled."You will all bleed for this!" His crazed scream promised endless torment as he backhanded the nearest fighter flying bonelessly. None dared approach the creature River had become, his grief transmuting into lightning violence. He rents armour and flesh effortlessly with bare ha
Ella's POV A piercing howl split the chaos-filled air as Scarlet's body contorted, flesh rippling grotesquely. Her garnet eyes glowed fever-bright, muscles swelling and distorting into rippling bulks of misshapen tissue. I staggered back in dismay as spiky protrusions burst from her arms, razor claws splitting through her fingers. Dear Goddess, what evil conjuring was this? The veil of humanity fell away entirely from Scarlet's visage, leaving only insatiable bloodlust in those crazed orbs fixed unblinking upon me. She had become a hunched monstrosity, twice my height and brimming with enough berserk strength to pulverise stone. I was outmatched now by an inhuman engine of destruction against which courage and skill meant nothing.Fear's clammy fingers closed around my hammering heart. There could be no defeating such a freakish abomination in single combat. My knives would shatter uselessly against that mutant hide. "Come on pup, defeat me now if you can." Scarlet monstrous voic
Ella's POV Yells erupted all around me on the blood-slicked battlefield, but my eyes were drawn like lodestones to one figure cutting gracefully through the carnage - the sadistic Luna Scarlet, crimson hair flowing behind like a banner of war. "Well, well, now look who we have here." His voice loomed in the battle of Claws.Hate seared through my veins at the sight of my childhood tormentor's cruel visage.Fate had gifted me this chance to confront the monster who had delighted in brutalising my young spirit through long bleak years. The reckoning was at hand if I could but close these few feet between us now separated by writhing bodies and whistling blades. My fingers itched to wrap around that swan-white throat. Lea snarled within, craving vengeance."It's good to see I'll be the one to End your life, Bitch." I yelled.Scarlet spun and pivoted through the fray with vicious expertise, her claws rending all who dared approach. None could match her speed and skill honed by decades
Ella's POV Chaos reigned across the blood-soaked battlefield as our forces clashed violently with the seemingly endless legions pouring from River's stronghold. Screams of the wounded and dying pierced the acrid smoke-filled air, mingling with the ceaseless clangour of steel striking steel. In the roiling press of bodies, I swiftly lost sight of both my brave mates leading the charge. It was all I could do to defend my own fragile hide against the berserkers swarming our position, drunk on bloodlust and driven by ruthless commands barked from the ramparts above.Dodge, feint, slash - no time for strategy, only lightning reactions born of raw desperation. The ground grew slick beneath my boots with the fluids of the dead and dying, their blank eyes accusing our futile sacrifice. We were being slowly crushed against an inexorable tide. If the gates remained sealed, all was lost. The fortress walls loomed impossibly high, untouched by our frenetic siege as flaming pitch and arrows ra
