Maddox' POV:

I found myself being skeptical of Kian's motives. I knew Kian to be many things, but a fool, I had never thought he was. How the hell did he lack the idea that I was the one who had sent rogues to attack his Pack, when it was quite obvious.

I knew he had been investigating, I wondered if his investigation yielded nothing. That was the only explanation I would give to him wanting to help me after what I did to him.

Although there was something that didn’t quite add up for me. Kian seemed to be innocent and clearly had nothing to do with the rogue attack. But if he didn’t, who else had a solid motive to attack me?

I had many enemies, but none of them could have pulled off the attack the way it was carried out. Unless the rogues have turned on me, which I hoped not.

A part of me was still bent on believing that Kian had something to do with it. He might be lying after all.
