Kian's POV

I got the invite for Maddox party, which wasn’t strange, owing to the fact that we were practically allies. But what I found strange was Maddox keeping me in the same room with Lessia.

I wondered what game he was playing , I wasn’t sure what he was up to, but I knew I had to be careful. Any mistake made by me, could endanger Lessia.

I picked up my phone from the bed stand, I hadn’t heard from William, so I decided to call him before I leave for the event.

He picked after two rings. “How’s the weather?” His voice echoed through the phone.

It was a coded message, used between us to know if everything is okay in the enemy’s territory.

“The weather looks good, although it’s a bit cloudy.” I replied.

He understood what I meant and we proceeded to talk about what it was that made me call him.

“Well, I haven’t spoken to some of the Alpha’s, and while some of them are hesitant to join forces with us, some of them have agreed to.” William explained.
