Maddox' POV:

I was sitting in my office with the windows and doors closed. The only bit of light that reached my eyes were the rays that strayed through the curtains, sipping through like leaking water. Soon I heard a beep from my phone.

I has first thought it was just any other beep from the countless messages from service providers, that usually came with no use to me, so I ignored. But then, I heard another beep go off once more. At this point, my curiosity was already riled up.

I looked Into the screen and saw that it wasn't from a network service provider, but rather it was from my bank. It seemed to be a sort alert.

Did someone pay tributes today? I asked in my mind. I had no idea of anyone of my subjects that might have been owing me so I checked.

What I saw as I opened the phone was enough to have me checking another time and ascertaining on whether or not I was having an issue with my eyes that disabled me from counting numbers effectively.
