Maddox POV:

Lessia’s new behavior towards me is both shocking and enthralling. I didn’t know if she was being nice to me because she really wanted to, or if she was doing it for selfish reasons. Either way I was satisfied with whatever she was willing to give to me. It wouldn’t take long for me to win her over.

Lisa was right after all, I had taken a wrong approach to my relationship with Lessia the first time. I was so afraid she would see the twisted side of me and not want to be with me, that I didn’t even give her the opportunity to choose whether to love or hate me.

I have been spending more time with her lately, getting to know her, and one thing I realized is she doesn’t like being kept in the dark about things. She wants to be involved, it makes her feel wanted and important.

Learning that about her gave me an advantage. By making her feel loved, I was certain she would love me in return.
