As I groggily opened my eyes, the rays of the sun entered into the room, filtering through the curtains. I glanced at the wall clock to know what time it was. It was a few minutes past 10 am and I realized I had overslept. This pregnancy made me lazier than ever, and Kian didn’t even help to abate that. He kept insisting I should rest at any opportunity that presented itself.

Sometimes, I would stubbornly refuse him, just to be able to leave the house, but he insisted I didn’t leave without the guards trailing behind me.

Kian wasn’t in the room, I guessed he had probably gone to a meeting. It definitely had to be something very important for him to leave without saying goodbye.
