Audrey's POV

I was only given a short time to see Mira and Abby before leaving with the billionaire Jayden fane in his luxurious car. In a short wedding dress, I watched him sit far from me in the back seat.

His expression was cold and unreadable, I dared not speak or ask any questions about the wedding, just like he had instructed me to do.

And for some reason, I had no idea why I couldn't ask questions about this fake marriage nor could I ask about his brother.

Suddenly his phone rang, he answered the call. “Speak.”he said, his voice cold, there was silence for a moment.

He sighed, rubbing his temples. “Just tell her we are on our way.” he instructed. I couldn't make out what the conversation was all about, but I knew it certainly had to do with me, with that he ended the call.

“Why do you keep staring?” He asked without looking at my direction, shoving his phone into his pocket. I felt guilty as I immediately looked away from his side. But now, his eyes were stuck on me.

“You wish you could marry me instead, isn't it?” He teased me, but I didn't find his words funny.

I scoffed “You wish. Like I enjoy the fact that I'm getting married like this in the first place.” I bit back sarcastically, looking away again.

“Stop whining. Any girl would kill to be in your position.”he stated arrogantly.

I gritted my teeth, holding back the insults I was about spilling. I exhaled, reminding myself that I was only doing this for Mira, nothing more.

I was mesmerized by the tall mansion that dazzled right in front of me. If anyone told me I was going to get married to a stranger, in a beautiful mansion, then I’d think they are insane. Jayden walked past me into the mansion, leaving me behind like we had not come together.

A man suddenly approached me, dressed like a butler, the friendly smile on his face engaged me to smile back at him.

“Don't mind the second master Jayden, he's not always this moody.” He whispered. Second master? Was his brother the first master then? I grinned, letting him know that I wasn't offended by Jayden's actions. I wasn't offended either ways, rich people had thing for being grumpy and arrogant.

It's more of my fault that I had accepted this deal for money. If I could pay him back in installments instead of getting married to a man I've never seen in my life, I would do it, quit at the stripper club and find something better to do with my certificates.

The thought of getting married to a stranger was frightening, What if the said man is old and frail? Jayden couldn't have an old man as his brother, could he?

As the butler led the way, my eyes touched every area of the mansion, I couldn't stop staring. I had only seen this type of house in movies, never did I imagine it existed in reality and that I was ever going to step foot into a place like this.

Every inch, every corner was sophisticated. The butcher stopped, so did I.

“You can go in.” The Butler said, directing me into a room right in front of us.

I took in a deep breath, walking into the room. The door was closed behind me, I couldn't help but dart my gaze at the people in the room, including Jayden who watched me with a stern gaze.

“Come closer, we don't bite.” A lady said, her hands beckoning me. She seemed old, probably in her fifties and had some resemblance with Jayden, anyone could figure out that she was his mother.

As I moved closer, my gaze fell on the man seated on a wheelchair, his back was turned to me. For a moment, I thought of the obvious, he was the man I was getting married to.

I turned to Jayden, my eyes searching for answers. Was his brother's paralysis the reason he'd warned me not to ask questions?

I have been tricked. I was getting married to a paralyzed man?

“Shall we begin?” I had just noticed a priest was also in our midst.

I wanted to decline, to say no and run out of this mess I was getting myself into. But I was reminded of Mira, her treatments will be called to a halt if this wedding doesn't take place.

Finally the man in the wheelchair turned to me, I could see his facial features clearly now and hell I was thinking he looked more handsome, his chiseled jawline and unfortunate dark green eyes that glared at me with hate like he was mad about this marriage too.

“MR Rollins Fane, do you take Audrey Sanchez as your…” the priest wasn't able to finish his statement.

“Make it snappy.” Rollins snapped at him. “And yes, I do.” he responded, wasn't staring at me, rather at the opened window. I felt bad for him at that moment, though everyone stared at him disappointedly but I thought he was just embarrassed?

The priest went on. “Do you Audrey Sanchez take Rollins Fane as your husband?”

“Yes, I do.” I responded, glaring at Rollins. We felt the same way, being mad about this relationship for different reasons. I was mad at Jayden, for hiding his brother's condition away from me.

The bastard was standing far from me, close to his mother. He was busy, staring down at his screen like none of this was his business.

“I pronounce you husband and wife.” The priest blessed us, his hands going in the cross sign. Wedding ended. Rollins rolled away in his wheelchair, not giving me a chance to introduce myself properly.

“Darling, you can come out now. He needs his privacy.” Jayden's mum informed, urging me to walk faster out of the room. I glanced back at Rollins and I caught him staring now, our eyes lurking only for a short while before the door was closed.

With the way he looked at me, it seemed like he hated me.
