XENIA

"This isn't right Vin, you can't continue to treat me like that," I said slowly, raising my eyes to meet his unconcerned gaze.

"I deserve to be loved genuinely, respected, and appreciated as well. You need to stop treating me with such disrespect." My voice rose a pitch higher as I talk.

At first, it wasn't always like this...

"This wasn't how we started you know that. What's the rea..."

"There's no reason Xenia. Come on, we've talked about this before. Stop expecting total commitment from me, I'm a man... a hot-blooded male at that!"

"Then I guess you aren't a real man,"

"What did you say?" He challenged.

"I'm pretty sure you heard me, Vin." I dared, crossing my arms beneath my chest. "No real man would act or treat a woman the way you treat me. If you want to be addressed as a real man, you should learn to control yourself. For goodness sake, have some respect for yourself, Vin!"

"Look Xenia," he pushed his hand through his curly dark hair as his gaze lingered towards his door, obviously impatient to go continue his deal with the slut in there.

What bitch was it this time? I momentarily wondered.

He turned his back to me. "I'm not ready for any of your never-ending dramas. Let's talk la..."

"If you leave in the middle of this once more, I promise you it's over!" My words stopped him on his track and he turned to me, his gaze full of derision.

"What did you say?"

"I'm breaking up with you if you leave me now and go in there again. And this time, I mean it."

Vin let out a mirthless chuckle and gave me a once-over glance. "Sure, suit yourself. I'm damn tired of your shit as well."

I almost couldn't believe my eyes and ears.

My crossed arms dropped to my sides in disbelief at his words and my lips parted slightly in shock. "W-what! Y-you don't get to say that to..."

"Besides," he interrupted, "this shouldn't be considered a relationship. I have nothing to lose Xenia, but heck, you do."

A gasp escaped my lips at his words and I stare at him regretfully as he opened the door and walked into his apartment, shutting the door afterward and leaving me standing right outside his home.

Hot tears instantly clouded my vision as my eyes began stinging and within a minute, I had tears rolling down my cheeks in torrents.

What did I ever do to deserve this? All I did was love so why am I being punished? Am I being punished for loving so much?

For a moment, I was too stunned to think. His last words kept repeating loudly in my head and the sudden stinging pain in my heart wasn't bearable. It's as though my heart was being shattered into many unbelievable fragments.

"Haha," a patchy and dry chuckle escaped my lips. "You really think so Vin, don't you?" My lips curled up lopsidedly. "Well, I'll watch and await the day you'd regret this decision. But by then, it'd be already too late."
