3 Days Later.
Logan stood in front of the king-sized bed, on which she lay down, motionless. After observing her for a moment, he turned to the doctor in white coat and gold-framed glasses. He looked down at the doctor and pursed his lips, waiting for an explanation of some sort. "Alp… Alpha I don't know what happened. She's supposed to wake up by now. She's been responding positively to treatment and her health has improved alot. The reason why she isn't waking up may be related to her mental health. She might be having a mental barrier that is stopping her from waking up. Especially after the rejection.” He explained, shaking and sweating profusely. “Is that so?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. “Ye… yes. Let's wait a little more. I'm sure she will wake up.” He assured. Logan nodded and dismissed him with a wave of his hand. At that moment, his phone rang. He picked it up and held it to his ear. “Alpha, the men are ready to speak.” “Alright. Bring them to my study." He hung up. He took one last glance at her and turned to walk out of the door. - - - - - - - - Within a few minutes, he arrived at his home study and office. He opened the door, walked in, and sat on the swivel chair behind the large study table. Just then, Dylan walked in. He greeted and sat down on the chair opposite Logan. “She still hasn't woken up?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. Logan laid back, picked up a ball pen and began to twirl the pen between his long and refined fingers. “No." He replied calmly. “Isn’t she supposed to wake up by now? What did the doctor say?” Dylan asked again. “Who are those men? And why did it take so long to get them to talk?” Logan asked, leaning forward and putting the pen back in place. Dylan chuckled. He knew what Logan meant, he didn't want to talk about her. He didn't know why, but he knew better than to push it. “The men were stubborn. They're members of the Darkclan, an emerging clan with bases in different locations, including our pack. The clan was established a few years ago by Jack Black's nephew. They have a strict rule: never disclose information even at death's door. Else they would face grave consequences even if they make it out alive.” He reported. “We were only able to get them to spill out the information we wanted after we threatened them with their families after Sly got their locations.” He concluded. “I don't want their base in my pack. They must move or they'll face me." He squinted. He nodded and assured, “I'll work on that." At that moment, the door was opened and the two burly men were escorted into the study. Immediately they saw Logan, they fell on their knees. “Alpha, we are sorry. Please forgive us. We are new recruits and our fourth mission was to get the female Alpha from Lunarmoon, kill her, and dump her body where they can find it later to prove her death." The first man blurted out. “Who hired you?" “Our boss already agreed with a man called Edgard Ford. Our job was to get her from his son and then kill her." The second man replied. Logan narrowed his eyes. A huge conspiracy was going on in the Eastern Lunarmoon. And his mate, Aurora was the person conspired against and betrayed by them. What these men were saying was just the tip of an iceberg. There was still alot to know. He could easily investigate this and find out what was going on but he didn't want to. He wanted her to wake up first and tell him everything herself and give her consent to the investigation. “I'll spare your lives and protect you." He announced, to the surprise and excitement of both men. “Thank you… thank you… Alpha.” They expressed gratitude in unison. "But I have a mission for you too.” - - - - - - - - After dismissing everyone, Logan laid back on his chair and massaged his temples in exhaustion. Ever since he had brought her home, he hasn't had a good night's rest. His mind was always filled with thoughts about her and questions he wanted her to answer if she woke up. Most times, he wondered why he didn't feel the mate bond when he first met Aurora and after several other meetings. Was it because she had a mate then? Jealousy bloomed in his heart. He was jealous that Castro was her first mate and love. He wondered why it wasn't him. Then, he was reminded that there was a possibility that she didn't feel the mate bond because she was unconscious. He shifted uncomfortably in the chair and picked up a book at random. Before he could open the book, he heard a knock on the door. He paused and answered. Dylan entered with a file in his hand. He sat on the chair opposite Logan and slide the file across the table to Logan. “Aurora has been declared dead after her body was found. The whole of Lunarmoon is mourning her. Her funeral is coming up in a few days.” Dylan informed. Logan nodded with a hum. "Good. Keep an eye on those men. I don't…” The door was suddenly pushed open and an average height middle-aged woman entered. “Alpha, she's awake!"“Mmmm…" Aurora let out a low and weak moan as she slowly lifted her eyelids and squinted to adjust her eyes to the sudden darkness that came into view. As soon as her eyes focused on the low light, she was facing a high ceiling. She frowned slightly and snapped her head to the window which had dim night light sipping through it and her frown deepened. As she briefly scrutinized the room with the help of the night light from the window, her eyes narrowed and her heart skipped several beats. This wasn't her room nor did it look like any other rooms she was familiar with in the palace. It was unfamiliar in a way that alarmed her.The room she was lying in, was an empty large room with windows and a huge door that was far away from her as she lay on the bare cold floor. She quickly attempted to sit up. And was surprised when she couldn't move a muscle. She felt like there was no energy left in her body. Her body felt weak and limp. She bit her lower lips in frustration and attempted
“Mate!” He heard his wolf growling as he gazed at her from a distance. She was wearing a red long gown that was slit from the bottom to her thigh, revealing her long fair legs. The red gown suited her flawless fair skin perfectly, accentuating her curves which were in the right places. Her long black hair cascaded down her back gracefully. She was slowly walking towards him, moving her hips side to side with a mesmerizing smile that left him breathless. His lips were opened in awe at her beauty. It felt like he was looking at a goddess who just descended to live among the mortals. She was like a little temptress. Just the sight of her ignited a strange heat in his body. His wolf was getting more and more excited at every step she took towards him. He couldn't wait to claim her. After what seemed like a thousand years, she finally stood in front of him, flashing him the most mesmerizing smile he had ever seen.Without further thought, he wrapped his arms around her and drew her clos
In the moving car, Logan sat at the back with the unconscious woman lying on the seat with her head resting on his lap. He was lost in thoughts as he stared at her face. There was a long faint tear mark on her face and she looked pale. Her red lips were chapped. He wondered what she must have gone through to be in this current state. His hand unconsciously reached out to fondle her cheek. All in one day, he received the shocking news that she suddenly disappeared, his dream occurred again and he made a shocking realization- she turned out to be the mate he had been looking forward to meeting. He wondered how it was possible. She had a mate and this wasn't the first time they were meeting. Was this the reason for the change in the dream? How was it possible that Aurora Quinn was in the hands of assassins on her special day? The Aurora Quinn he knew was no ordinary woman. She was different from other women he had met. She was skilled, intelligent and smart. How did she fall int
