01: Beatrice Prieur.

         No one will love you if you’re unattractive. In my 24 years of existence, that phrase has been the only thing I’ve heard from my Mother who value looks more than anything. This world is cruel, why do omegas need to give birth to alphas? Why betas is the only kind to live a comfortable life? I wonder.

I sighed as I glanced at the scene before me, my friend writing her manuscript, I don’t even understand why she’s so dedicated in those when it does nothing in her life. She’s earning money but not that much. I also want to do something that I really love.

“Mother is nagging me again to find a dominant alpha,” I murmured.

My friend, who was busy writing things on her laptop lifted her head at me, “why? Don’t you want to?”

I looked at her and nodded. What do you want me to say?

“Why not? I mean every omega dreams of a rich, young, and handsome alpha.” She said with her eyes on the screen. “Just bear with it."

I rolled my eyes, I don’t agree with her at all. She chuckled when she saw how my face changed as those words left her lips. Scarlette stand up to switch sit while I just focused on the things on my laptop.

“Why don’t you help me?” I raised my eyebrows. “I need to submit this to my boss tomorrow!”

“Hm? Isn’t that your brother, Brylle the one who’s CEO now?” she said. “You can just do that later or tomorrow.”

“My brother is not that kind to his sister duh? He will scold me all day!” I hissed. "He doesn't like me neglecting my work as if I can?" 

She just laughed and said, “I need to go. I still need to go to my boyfriend’s house.”

I raised my brows when I heard what she said. This girl doesn’t even bring her boyfriend to talk to me. I guess I’m not really her friend, huh. I feel bad now that I think about it, it's like she is threatened about me stealing her boyfriend when in fact I am not ready for any relationship right now. 

“Ah yeah! Do you have any plan to introduce him to me?” I raised my voice a little. “I mean if you really think of me as your friend…”

She laughed with her eyes looking at me, amused. I smiled at her and stroked her hair before she slap my hand away, I laughed.

“Soon I guess? Ah damn, I really need to go now!” As she said that, she left in a hurry that she even forgot to close the door.

“That silly girl.” I get up to close the door, but as I think about it…

Scarlette looked afraid about something. She looks as if something will be gone once I get into it.

“Why?” I asked myself while staring at the door where Scarlette left.

She’s acting weird, is it about her boyfriend? I don’t have any plans to get close to her lover, I just want to see the man that my best friend is obsessed with. I am her friend after all!

“Nevermind.” I just sighed and go back to what was I doing when my phone rang. "Who?"

I picked it up just to see my Mother’s name on the screen, I rolled my eyes. I hate it. Every time my mother called, the only thing she says is about my marriage, she doesn’t even ask me if I am doing fine or what! She only likes to go out and forced me to be like her.

“Yes?” I said as I continued the things that need to be done by tomorrow. “What?”

I asked, waiting for her answer, I get up to have a glass of water. I'm talking to my mom right now, I need to calm myself down. She took a while to answer and I can hear background noises, she must be with her friend right now.

“Ah, Beatrice dear how are you? You’re being rude lately huh.” She nagged. She asked how am I? What a miracle! “Oh never mind that. I just called you to say that you should go to your cousin’s party! I just heard there’s a lot of alpha that is really rich and decent.”

I raised my brows as I listen to my Mom nonsense, I can hear the happiness in her voice as she keep saying about dominant alphas. Why do I need to go there just to find someone to fvck me?

I sighed. “Mom, look, I’m busy—”

“You’re not. I asked your brother about this and he agreed! Just rest and make yourself prettier okay? Bye, I need to hang up now I love you. Take care!” she hung up as soon as she said that while I rolled my eyes from the frustration that I am feeling.

She and my brother love to torment me, seriously! They give me rest just to have a problem worse than my work.

“Damn.” I leaned over while thinking about what should I do when I realize something. “Why do I need—oh! So it’s okay that I will do this overdue? Wow.”

I smiled as soon as I realize that I don’t need to do all of this and can just relax. It’s not bad to follow your mother sometimes. I can rest without finding any alpha to sleep with since my mother can't tell if I really sleep with one or not.

“What should I wear?” I mumbled. “The party is in the evening, so I still have time to rest and go to the salon.”

I smiled before letting myself fall into the bed, I will just take a little nap then. I closed my eyes and before I even know it, I arrived in my dreamland.

“A little, huh?” I feel irritated as soon as I woke up since I said to myself that I will just sleep a little but now I just woke up an hour before the party, I need to do my make-up on my own now!

I hurry, I fix my hair into a messy bun while my looks are just simple same goes for my light blue dress that has a slit on both sides and it is sleeveless. I need to get there as soon as possible so my mom won't nag me for a while.

“I guess this is okay, I’m pretty anyway.” I pick up my phone and the things that I will need before going out of my condo.

While on my way to my car I contacted my cousin who’s going to hold a party for no reason at all. I love this cousin of mine, but she is always a slut.

“Hello, Bea! Where are you?” she queried, I can hear the loud music in the background meaning the party has started. “Faster or else—”

“I’m on my way, shut up!” I exclaimed. “I know okay? Just wait for me at the door.”

I hung up and glance at my side to see if there was anyone besides me here and I saw that there was none so I speed up to get there faster and get over it already. I want to rest already.

“I’m here!” I shouted at my cousin who was obviously waiting for me, she waved her hand to me and smiled. Pretty.

“Let’s go inside!” She said and pulled me towards her. “You will definitely have fun here!”

I smiled a little before I pulled my arm back, and she pouted.

“Yeah?”

“Yes!”

She said with a smile before letting go of my hand and she seem to have another guess to entertain so I just went to the food because I still didn’t eat since this afternoon!

“Ahm.” The food looks all delicious but something is off why do I smell pheromones? I mean everyone can control their pheromones who’s this bitch releasing hers?

I looked in front just to see a male omega, a waiter at the party and he seems— holy mother of a cow! Is he having his heat cycle? I was about to approach him and offer help but an alpha came.

“What the hell? Is he going to take advantage— oh! Nevermind.” I said as I turned my back because the male omega just kiss the alpha man but he avoided it. “I think they know each other.”

I turn my back to go to where my cousin is but a hand suddenly stops me from going.

“Who?”

I ask myself as I turn around to see who asshole grabbed my hand. I don’t really like someone else touching me.

“Hi, long time no see.” He smirked as if he saw something funny. “Miss Beatrice.”

"Miss Beatrice." I whispered to myself as I rolled my eyes,” do I know you?”

“Did you have amnesia Bea?” He chuckled as if there was something funny in front of him. “I miss… you.”

"Yeah." I said before grabbing my arm but he pulled me closer, “let go, will you?”

He smiled, “let’s talk for a while, Miss Bea.”

“Look, I’m busy alright?” I said with frustration visible in my tone.

“Well, you’re just going to eat right?” He glance over the food that I was holding. “Let’s eat and talk there.”

He said before pulling me into a chair and I put my food on the top of the table before looking so irritated. If I can just scream right here, right now, I would. I can't cause any trouble for now.

“The fuck do you want Sander?” I asked with a boring tone, “is there anything you want that you can say right away? I want to go now.”

He laughed a little before touching his lower lip and staring at me as if I were some clown that was entertaining him.

I smiled sweetly, I hope you have a very, very bad day tomorrow.

“I can't believe that we’re going to meet here, I mean, damn it’s been a while since I saw you.” He chuckled. “How’s life?”

“It’s Okay.” I grinned, “before you appeared before my eyes.”

“You’re still beautiful as ever, do you already have mate?” I looked at him before rolling my eyes, he knows how I hated this kind of topic.

“It’s none of your business, I mean did you turn into a Karen now?” I responded with a smirk on my lips. “Hm?”

“Your attitude, It’s still the same, fierce.” I raised my brows at him before siping on my juice. “That’s why I like you.”

I glared at him as he looks at my lips, this guy doesn’t even hide his true colors. I am starting to get mad, I might flip over the table right now. I cant cause a scene but just a little… it will be fine, right?

“Yeah? To the point, you almost force me into a thing that I hated the most?” I glared at him as I said those words. “Don’t act as if you were friends. We will never be and for your information, I fucking hate you.”

After I said that, I get up and turn my back on him as I wanted to get away from that useless man, as far as I can. I can't even stand his pheromones.

I walk towards my cousin and say hi to her friends, we chatted a bit before I went into the liquors. It’s good to get drunk tonight since I am exempted from my brother.

“This will do.”

I raise the one bottle of Schnapps into the air and get a shot glass before turning my back on the party, I’m going to get drunk in a safe place where there’s no hungry alpha that can approach me.

“It’s leaking pheromones here, why is that?” I asked myself as I decided to walk outside the party, I should go inside.

“Nevermind, I think it’s normal.”

Is what I thought, after three glasses of it my head start spinning and my body started to feel hot as if I was burning. I think I’m having a fever. Someone with another person in their arms walked pass me but I don’t know who are they since I can't see clearly now. I can't even stand straight after I drink the third one.

“The fuck is happening?”

I have a high tolerance for alcohol, I don’t think this is because of the alcohol, is someone drug my drinks? I don’t have time to think about when I started to feel so hot all over my body, I can't think straight. I don't think that this is my heat acting up since I know my heat schedule, it's regular and I drink my meds before going in a party like this.

I need to get inside a room, my pheromones are getting uncontrollable. I dashed into a room near me since I can't go any far with my knees jelly as hell.

“Hm?” I tried to open the door of the room in front of me, and thankfully it is not locked. I walk inside the room and go to the bed. "Why does it feels so hot?"

“It’s hot.”

I said while taking my clothes one by one.
