Chapter 550 Don't You Think It's Too Late?

Alec had wanted to say more, but the passion in his heart quickly dissipated upon hearing how cold Jenny was to him. Still, he didn't hang up immediately. "How have you been?" he asked.

"Don't you think it's too late to ask me that, Alec?" Jenny huffed. Alec's behavior confused her. It had been days without hearing from him.

Alec knew he was at fault. He had planned to meet with Jenny that day after their call. He never expected Dr. Watkins to tell him not to see her, for him to learn to control himself. Which was why he never went to her. But that didn't mean he didn't care about her. He had still gone to the hospital to check on her, only leaving after seeing that she was okay.

On the other end of the call, Jenny was getting even more upset now that he had gone silent. "What? Cat got your tongue? When did you learn how to keep your mouth shut?"

"I'm sorry," Alec said solemnly. "I've been preoccupied with some business. That's why I didn't come to see you."
