Damien

The hours felt like they dragged on as I sat at the bar. I hadn't seen Alison for a while, and I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was wrong.

I tried to convince myself that maybe I was just overthinking things, but I couldn’t get rid of that restless feeling within me.

Where was she? And why was she taking too long?

I stood up abruptly, tossing a few bills on the counter, not bothering to finish my drink. I needed to find her.

I pushed through the crowd and made my way toward the restroom area, hoping to catch a glimpse of her, but there was no sign of her anywhere.

I approached a lady coming out of the bathroom stall.

“Excuse me,” I said, trying to remain calm, “Have you seen a woman about this tall? Long hair, wearing a dark dress?” I gave her the most detailed description I could muster.

She looked at me, furrowing her brow, and shook her head. “Sorry, no one like that.”

I raised up my brow, not convinced by her words. “Are you sure? She was with me earlier, and she said she was heading to the restroom.”

The lady gave me a confused glance and shrugged. I sighed, walking further down the hallway.

Another woman passed by, and I repeated my question, but the response was the same. “No, I haven’t seen anyone like that.”

I could feel my frustration building, the realization creeping in that something wasn’t right. My mind raced, trying to piece everything together. Just as I was about to give up, a voice from behind me made me stop in my tracks.

“I think I saw her,” the voice said, and I turned to see a woman standing by the door. She looked at me with a cautious expression. “She went out the back exit with some guy.”

My heart skipped a beat. “A guy? What guy?”

She just shook her head, looking unsure. “I don’t know, but she was with him.”

The words echoed in my mind. A guy.

I immediately thought back to what Gemma had said, her words replaying in my mind: I have a feeling she’s a spy.

Could the mystery guy be the one Alison was working for?

I shook my head, trying to brush off the thought. I couldn’t afford to get sidetracked now. I needed to find Alison.

I rushed toward the back exit, only to find that the area was empty. There was no sign of anyone.

Where did they go to? I kept walking hoping I would be able to come across anything. But the only thing I saw was a black car which happened to be pulling up beside the curb.

I watched an old man come out of it, and immediately our eyes met I pulled it away.

How was I going to find out where Alison went and who she was with?

Then, I noticed the CCTV cameras overhead.

An idea hit me like a ton of bricks. I turned on my heel and stormed back into the bar. I approached the bartender. “I need to speak to your manager,” I said firmly.

The bartender hesitated but eventually nodded. “Our manager doesn’t really see people... not without an appointment.”

I didn’t have time for this. I reached inside my jacket, pulling out my gun. The cold steel was enough to silence any objections. “I don’t have time for your manager’s rules. Take me to him, now.”

The bartender’s face paled, and he motioned for a second man to lead me to the back office.

When we arrived, the manager, a tall man with a slicked-back hairstyle, looked up from behind his desk.

His eyes narrowed when he saw the gun in my hand. “What’s going on here?” he demanded.

I didn’t bother with pleasantries. I pulled the gun out further, pointing it at his desk. “I came here with someone tonight. A woman. She went missing, and the last person to see her said she left through the back exit. I need to see the footage from your CCTV.”

The manager scoffed. “Maybe she went home with another man. What’s your problem?”

I leaned in closer, my voice icy. “Show me the footage, or I’ll kill you where you stand.”

His face went pale, and he quickly motioned for his assistant to open a small door behind him. The man led me into a small back room, where the CCTV footage was stored.

As the manager pulled up the footage, I watched the screen closely, my eyes narrowing as I scanned the images.

A few minutes passed before something caught my attention. I saw a car pulling out from the back exit. My eyes fixed on the screen, and I felt my pulse quicken.

I ordered the manager to pause the video. The car was parked, and as the footage zoomed in, I saw a familiar figure stepping out of the car. My heart sank.

“Hugh,” I muttered to myself, my jaw tightening.

“Do you know the guy?” The manager asked.

I ignored him as I made my way back to the bar. The manager followed behind me, but I barely noticed him. I was already several steps ahead.

As I reached the exit, I pulled out my phone and dialed Hugh’s number, but the call went straight to voicemail. I tried again, but he kept ignoring my calls.

My anger grew, but I forced myself to remain calm. I needed to think.

I stormed back to the mansion, my thoughts consumed by what I had just learned. If Hugh was involved in Alison’s disappearance, then everything had changed. I had to get to the bottom of this, no matter what.

As I entered the mansion, I immediately saw Gemma hanging around the entrance.

“Von!” She shot me a flirty look.

I walked past her without a word, heading straight for one of my men.

“Where’s Hugh?” I asked.

They looked at each other, exchanging uncertain glances. “We’re not sure, sir. He hasn’t been around.”

But then, one of the men who was passing by and happened to have heard me spoke up. “He took John and Jax to the warehouse some minutes .”

I made my way to my car, sparing no time.

Alison I felt a sharp pain at the back of my head as my eyes fluttered open. The world around me was blurry at first, but as my vision cleared, I realized I was in an unfamiliar room. My arms were numb, and when I tried to move, I felt the rough bite of ropes cutting into my wrists. I was tied to a chair. I blinked hard, forcing myself to focus. Then my eyes landed on Hugh. He stood in front of me with a stern expression. For a moment, I didn’t know if I was still dreaming, if maybe this was some horrible nightmare I was about to wake up from. But the cold metal of the chair beneath me and the tight restraints around my wrists told me this was very real. I swallowed hard. “Why am I here?” Hugh smirked and took a slow step forward. “You don’t know?” I shook my head, refusing to let the fear show. “No.” “Well,” he said, pulling out a gun and leveling it at my face, “you’re about to find out.” My pulse skyrocketed, my breath hitching as I stared down the barrel of the gun. Damien I left the room the moment I was sure Alison was asleep. The tension in my body hadn’t eased, as I still thought about Hugh and what had transpired between us.At this point, my mind was fueled by frustration and anger. I needed a drink. As I headed down to my wine cellar, I barely made it halfway before Hugh stepped out of the shadows, blocking my path. I clenched my jaw. “Not in the mood, Hugh.” He didn’t move, and that made me even more angry.“I don’t want to talk to you.” I declared.“Stop acting like a fucking child!” Hugh said and my eyes widened.“Says the man that acted in a crazed manner.” I groaned and Hugh seemed to take my words to heart because I noticed as. His expression went from neutral to angry.“If anyone was to hear what I did they would commend my actions,” Hugh said. “I acted like a true mafia leader.”“You took matters into your own hands there’s nothing true about that .” Hugh crossed his arms. “I did what was necessary.” I let out a bitter laugh.

Alison My heart was still pounding, and my mind kept replaying what happened some seconds ago. It was as if I was stuck in a loop. The feeling of Damien’s hands on mine drew me out of my thoughts. He held my hands which was bleeding, staring closely at it.He muttered some words to himself then he moved towards the drawer, pulling out a first aid kit.His hands were gentle as he wrapped a bandage around my hand.“Hold still!” He instructed.I noticed that his eyes had darkened and he looked like he wanted to hurt whoever had attacked me. Maybe it was all in my head. “I shouldn’t have left you alone,” Damien said in a low tone. I was about to speak but he beat it to you. “Do you know who is behind it? Were you able to see the person’s face?”“I—I wasn’t,” I admitted. “Like I had told you some seconds ago the person was wearing a hoodie and when I yelled he ran out.” Before Damien could respond, the door swung open, and Hugh stepped inside. Damien turned to face him, his entire b

Damien I stared at Alison, her words still ringing in my ears. “Fuck me.” For a moment, I was frozen. Then, without thinking, I grabbed her and kissed her. Hard. She gasped into my mouth, her hands fisting my shirt. I deepened the kiss, pulling her closer.I didn’t know what came over me—maybe it was the way she looked at me, maybe it was the way her body pressed against mine—but I couldn’t stop. “Damien!” The voices in my head called out trying to scold me. “This isn’t part of the plan.”I didn’t fucking listen. I just wanted Alison. My hands roamed down her back, tracing her skin, and slipping under her shirt. She arched against me, moaning softly. My fingers skimmed her thigh, pushing higher until I touched her panties. She was wet! I didn’t hesitate to slip my fingers into her folds as I pulled her panties aside.“Damien!” She moaned and the sound of her voice only fueled my desire. I thrust faster, and as my eyes locked onto hers I could see the lust in her eyes grow.“Fuc

Damien I sat in my study, my fingers drumming against the desk as one of my men spoke. “His name is Willis Archer.” I glanced up. “Archer?” He nodded. “Yeah. The only son of Jacob Archer—the famous drug dealer.” I leaned back in my chair. “Jacob Archer died in a fire years ago. I remember it clearly. His wife and son were in the car.” “Turns out the son survived,” he said. “And now he’s here. He moved into the city a week ago. He’s staying at a motel near the mansion.” I exhaled sharply. Jacob Archer. That name hadn’t crossed my mind in years. Mr. Archer and my uncle had been close once. They did business together. I had met him a handful of times. But when he tried to double-cross my uncle, that was the end of it. My uncle cut him off, and not long after that, the fire happened. I thought that was the end of the Archer family. Clearly, I was wrong. “Did you find out who he’s working with?” I asked. The man shook his head. “Not yet. But I’ll dig deeper.” “Good. I

Alison The past few weeks has been a bliss. Damien and I were making out everywhere—against walls, on tables, and even in the backseat of his car when no one was around. It wasn’t just the physical connection that had me spiraling. It was the way he looked at me, the way he touched me like I was something precious, the way he made me feel like I was the only person who mattered in his world. I had almost forgotten about Aiden. Almost forgotten about the mission. But how could I focus on anything else when Damien had consumed me so completely? Then, one morning, everything changed. Damien was getting ready, pulling on a black shirt over his toned body, in a rushed manner. I could tell something was on his mind. "Where are you going?" I asked, watching him from the bed. "Mission," he said simply, fastening his watch around his wrist. "I want to come with you." He turned to me, his jaw tightening. "No." I sat up. "Why not?" "Because it’s dangerous, and I don’t want anything

Alison The air was filled with tension as I held the phone tightly against my ear, listening to Aiden’s voice on the other end. “How’s Damien’s condition?” he asked. I hesitated. “He’s… recovering.” Aiden exhaled. “So, he’s alive.” I frowned. “You were behind the attack, weren’t you?” A slow, cruel chuckle echoed through the line. “Of course, I was.” I swallowed, my throat suddenly dry. “Damien’s about to meet his end, Alison,” Aiden continued. “He’s outlived his usefulness, and soon, he’ll be nothing but a memory.” Something twisted in my gut. The certainty in his voice, the complete lack of hesitation—it made my stomach churn. “Right,” I murmured. But deep down, I felt otherwise. I didn’t want anything to happen to Damien. But I knew I couldn’t tell Aiden that. The sound of Aiden sighing pulled me out of my haze. “Is something wrong?” I asked. “Nothing, it’s just that. I Can’t wait for you to be back, finally.” I felt my heart stop as I took in his words.

Alison Later the next day, Hugh brought out a bottle of whiskey and poured drinks for all of us. He lifted his glass with a smirk. “To us,” he said. Damien raised an eyebrow but didn’t pick up his glass. “Let’s not celebrate too soon.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Come on, Damien. Have a little faith. Things are going to turn out just fine.” Damien scoffed, taking a slow sip from his glass. “That’s what you said last time we went up against Aiden. It didn’t exactly end well.” Hugh chuckled. “Touché.” He leaned back against the couch, stretching his legs out as he swirled the amber liquid in his glass. “You know, Alison, Damien wasn’t always the brooding, overprotective type. Back in the day, he was the one causing all the trouble.” I raised an eyebrow. “Oh really?” Damien let out a groan. “Hugh, don’t.” Hugh grinned, clearly enjoying himself. “Oh, I absolutely will.” He turned to me, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “There was this one time when we were kids—maybe fifteen

The faint scent of smoke curled around him as he flicked the ash onto the floor. Damien leaned back, eyeing the board. “I really want to know how you got that board.” Hugh exhaled a cloud of smoke. “Can we just focus on the plan?” Damien shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’s a little much.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Noted but I’m not going to do anything about it.” Damien furrowed his eyebrows but Hugh seemed not to notice. He tapped the cigarette against a nearby ashtray. “Now, let’s get started. First off, thank you for joining in, Alison.” His eyes locked on mine. “I know you’ve been through hell because of Aiden, and I don’t expect you to join but I’m glad you did.” I swallowed hard, my nails digging into my palm. “You don’t need to thank me I’m just doing what’s right.” Hugh nodded. “Good. Alison The moment I rolled to the other side of the bed and found out it was empty. I sat up, quickly.“Damien!” I said, after realizing he wasn’t by my side.‘Where did he go?’ I asked myself. He couldn’t be in the shower because I couldn’t hear the water running.I didn’t want to stay alone, so I threw the covers off my body and went to look for him as I made my way toward the door the voices I heard on the other side of the door stopped me in my tracks. It was Damien and Hugh. They happened to be arguing. I pressed my ear against the door, listening, and the more I listened the more I realized they weren’t arguing they were just talking with loud voices. “You have to choose Damien it’s either her or your grandfather’s contact. To me, both are necessary.” I heard Hugh say. “This isn’t the time to focus on emotions Damien. We need her!”There was a beat of silence before Damien spoke, in a tone that was lower and more controlled. “I’m trying to be considerate.” Hugh let ou

I was exhausted. When we finally pulled up to the house, I glanced at Alison. Her head was leaning against the window, her breathing soft and steady. She was barely keeping her eyes open. I reached over, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Come on,” I murmured. “Let’s get you inside.”She stirred slightly but didn’t argue when I helped her out of the car. Her body clung to me like a second skin as I guided her up the stairs. The moment we stepped into the house, she mumbled something incoherent, already half-asleep. I smiled. “Alright, let’s get you to bed.”I led her to the bedroom, pulled back the covers, and eased her onto the mattress. She barely moved as I tucked her in. As I turned to leave, her hand shot out, gripping my wrist weakly. “Please can you stay with me?”“I’m not goin

The minute the car opened, I felt the cold air hit my face first, carrying with it the distant sound of passing vehicles. Were we on a main road? A city? Was this where I die, before I could process my thoughts, a firm hand gripped my arm. A second later, I felt the ropes around my wrists being yanked loose. Then the blindfold came off. I blinked rapidly as light flooded my vision. When I finally saw who was standing in front of me, my breath caught in my throat. “Oh my God…”I could barely get the words out. It was Damien. He had saved me.My body moved before I could think—I threw myself at him, my arms wrapping around his torso, holding onto him as if I needed proof that he was real.“Damien!” I finally woke.He let out a small chuckle, as he wrapped his arms around me. “Surprised?” he murmured

Where were they taking me? And where was I?Suddenly I was dropped. Pain shot through my body as I hit the hard, cold floor. A groan slipped past my lips, but I barely had time to process the discomfort before the sound of heavy boots retreating filled the air. I swallowed, my throat dry. “Hello?” My voice wavered. “Who’s there?” There was no answer. The silence that followed made me realize I was all alone.I lay still, with my chest rising and falling with panicked breaths. My heart pounded so loudly that it drowned out the quiet. I had no idea where I was. And worse—I had no idea who had me. Regret churned in my stomach. I shouldn’t

Damien The moment I stepped into the mansion, I was shocked when I noticed that everywhere was quiet. I had expected to hear gunfire, shouting, and some sign of life. But instead, the only thing that greeted me was death. Bodies of my men were lined the front of the mansion. My hands tightened around my gun as I stepped past them, my pulse roaring in my ears. Where the hell was Hugh? I moved cautiously through the hallway, my gun raised, and my eyes scanning every shadow."Hugh?" I called out, my voice bouncing off the empty walls. There was no answer. I increased my pace, moving deeper into the mansion. My mind was already thinking about the worst, that something terrible might have happened to Hugh. It was during that moment I heard a sound. It was faint at first but then it became loud, it sounded almost like a groan."Hugh!" I called again, following the noise. This time, I heard him clearly. “Here…” His voice was hoarse, coming from one of the rooms upstairs. I
