Damien

I sat in my study, my fingers drumming against the desk as one of my men spoke.

“His name is Willis Archer.”

I glanced up. “Archer?”

He nodded. “Yeah. The only son of Jacob Archer—the famous drug dealer.”

I leaned back in my chair. “Jacob Archer died in a fire years ago. I remember it clearly. His wife and son were in the car.”

“Turns out the son survived,” he said. “And now he’s here. He moved into the city a week ago. He’s staying at a motel near the mansion.”

I exhaled sharply. Jacob Archer. That name hadn’t crossed my mind in years. Mr. Archer and my uncle had been close once. They did business together. I had met him a handful of times.

But when he tried to double-cross my uncle, that was the end of it. My uncle cut him off, and not long after that, the fire happened. I thought that was the end of the Archer family. Clearly, I was wrong.

“Did you find out who he’s working with?” I asked.

The man shook his head. “Not yet. But I’ll dig deeper.”

“Good. I want everything—who he talks to, where he goes, who comes in and out of that motel room. There’s something he’s after.”

“Yes, boss.” He turned and left.

I sank back in my chair, rubbing my temples.

“It’s crazy how he managed to sneak into the mansion without being seen.” Hugh’s voice broke through the silence.

“Hmm!” I gave him a simple answer. I was still mad at him.

“Still angry?” Hugh’s asked

I didn’t look at him. “No.”

“Liar.”

I scoffed. “You have no right to call me that. You also have no right to ask me if I’m angry when you clearly crossed the line.”

“It’s high time you let things go.” Hugh pointed out.

I growled. “A betrayal so deep can’t be easily let go.”

“You’re sounding like I stabbed you in the back.”

“What does it look like?” I snarled.

Hugh sighed. “I was only doing what was right.”

I finally looked at him. “And I told you I had it under control. But you didn’t trust me.”

Silence.

Hugh shifted on his feet. “I want us to put all this aside. We have bigger issues in front of us, and being divided would cost us.”

I stiffened. “I’m not putting this aside. You should have thought of the consequences your actions would bring before you took them. Now, it’s too late.”

“The enemy has made its way to our home Damien. This our feud needs to end.” Hugh said.

I didn’t reply. I kept my face stern.

“Fine, I admit what I did was wrong. I shouldn’t have double-crossed you. I should have listened to you.”

I stayed silent, turning my eyes away from him.

“I want my friend back!“ he declared. “I really do.”

I clenched my jaw. “I don’t want to hear it.”

Hugh exhaled heavily. “Look, I regret what I did, alright? But if that means you’ll see me as a monster from now on, then fine. That’s the price I’ll pay but don’t let your anger cause bigger problems for us.”

I said nothing. I just stood up and walked away.

“Damien!” Hugh called, but I didn’t look back.

I found Alison in her room, standing in nothing but her underwear. I froze taking a moment to observe and flashes from yesterday crawled into my mind.

She turned to face me, completely unaware of what she was doing to me. “What’s going on?” she asked. “I saw some of the men carrying a dead body.”

I tore my gaze away from her body. “Someone broke into the mansion.”

“That’s terrible!” She said as she reached for her dress.

I didn’t want her to put it on but I couldn’t stop her either.

“Do you know who sent the person?” She asked, and gulped as I took in her round arse which would forever be my weakness.

“I don’t.” I forced myself to speak as I pulled my eyes away from her arse and placed it on her face.

“Well, that’s—“ her voice trailed off. I tried to focus on her words, but my mind kept drifting—to the last time I had her in my arms. The way she tasted. The way she felt under me. The way my tongue—

Fuck.

Maybe Hugh was right. I was playing a dangerous game.

I let out a heavy sigh. The truth was, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. No matter how much I tried to push her away, she kept pulling me back in. And now, as I watched her slip her dress over her body, the fabric clinging to every curve, I knew I couldn’t fight it anymore.

I locked the door.

Alison turned, eyes narrowing. “What are you doing?”

I didn’t answer. I just walked toward her.

She took a step back. “Damien—”

I grabbed her waist and crashed my lips against hers.

She gasped but didn’t resist. Her hands flew to my chest, gripping my shirt as I deepened the kiss.

I poured everything into it—every ounce of frustration, every moment of restraint, every damn thought I had of her that refused to leave my head.

My hands roamed down her back, pulling her closer, and pressing her against me.

Then, suddenly, she shoved me away.

I blinked.

She shook her head. “No. I’m not doing this.”

I clenched my fists. “What?”

“I’m not going to let you play this game with me.”

I frowned.

“You keep pulling me in, Damien. And then you push me away. Every single time.” She took a shaky breath. “I can’t do it anymore.”

I stepped forward. “I’m not pulling away this time.”

“I need you, Alison!” I pointed out. “I need you now!”

Alison The moment Damien’s lips touched mine, everything else faded away. The world outside ceased to exist. There was only him—his hands gripping my waist, his body pressing into mine, the heat between us consuming every last ounce of my body.I melted into him, surrendering to the moment, to the fire that burned so intensely between us. His touch was demanding yet gentle, his lips rough yet soft against my own.I felt his hands roaming, exploring, claiming every inch of my skin as if he had been waiting for this moment just as much as I had. My nipples, which were sensitive to his touch, hardened. I watched as his hungry eyes linger on me. It showed how desperately he wanted to fuck me.He pulled his pants and Immediately, he was done, His naked body glided on top of mine, and his lips found their way to my nipple. Slowly he sucked on them while spreading my legs open.Damien pulled his lips from me, paying attention to my open legs. I could see a drop of lust run through his e

Alison The past few weeks has been a bliss. Damien and I were making out everywhere—against walls, on tables, and even in the backseat of his car when no one was around. It wasn’t just the physical connection that had me spiraling. It was the way he looked at me, the way he touched me like I was something precious, the way he made me feel like I was the only person who mattered in his world. I had almost forgotten about Aiden. Almost forgotten about the mission. But how could I focus on anything else when Damien had consumed me so completely? Then, one morning, everything changed. Damien was getting ready, pulling on a black shirt over his toned body, in a rushed manner. I could tell something was on his mind. "Where are you going?" I asked, watching him from the bed. "Mission," he said simply, fastening his watch around his wrist. "I want to come with you." He turned to me, his jaw tightening. "No." I sat up. "Why not?" "Because it’s dangerous, and I don’t want anything

Alison The air was filled with tension as I held the phone tightly against my ear, listening to Aiden’s voice on the other end. “How’s Damien’s condition?” he asked. I hesitated. “He’s… recovering.” Aiden exhaled. “So, he’s alive.” I frowned. “You were behind the attack, weren’t you?” A slow, cruel chuckle echoed through the line. “Of course, I was.” I swallowed, my throat suddenly dry. “Damien’s about to meet his end, Alison,” Aiden continued. “He’s outlived his usefulness, and soon, he’ll be nothing but a memory.” Something twisted in my gut. The certainty in his voice, the complete lack of hesitation—it made my stomach churn. “Right,” I murmured. But deep down, I felt otherwise. I didn’t want anything to happen to Damien. But I knew I couldn’t tell Aiden that. The sound of Aiden sighing pulled me out of my haze. “Is something wrong?” I asked. “Nothing, it’s just that. I Can’t wait for you to be back, finally.” I felt my heart stop as I took in his words.

Damien I stormed downstairs, my footsteps heavy with each step I took.“This better not be a waste of my time, Hugh,” I warned. Hugh stood at the foot of the stairs, with the usual smug expression on his face. As much as I wanted to be far away from him my need to see what this parcel was stopped me.The minute we arrived downstairs. Hugh motioned toward one of my men. The man stepped forward, holding a small wooden box. I narrowed my eyes, taking the box from him. It had my name written on the top and a single piece of twine tied around it. A bad feeling crept into my gut. I yanked the twine loose and flipped open the lid. Inside, a folded piece of paper sat atop something dark. I grabbed the note first, unfolding it with steady hands. My eyes skimmed over the words, and during that moment my jaw tightened."Consider this attack a warning. You were spared this time. Next time, you won’t be so lucky."I inhaled sharply before reaching back into the box. My fingers brushed agai

Alison Damien had been gone for days and each passing moment without him had felt heavy, like something inside me was missing. And when he finally returned, I thought I would feel relief. But instead, the moment I laid eyes on him, I knew something was wrong. His face was set to a hardened gaze. His jaw locked so tight it looked painful, and his eyes—those same eyes that had once burned with intensity when they looked at me—were cold and distant. Still, that didn’t stop me from approaching him. "You're back," I said softly, approaching him as he sat on the edge of his bed, his head in his hands. He didn't even look up. "Leave me alone, Alison." I was taken aback by his words but I didn’t let it show. I bit my lip, forcing a smile. "You look like hell, Damien. What happ—“ "I said, leave me alone." The sharpness in his tone made me shiver. My chest tightened, but I nodded, stepping away. I wouldn't try to gain his attention at least, not now. It was clear that he

Alison I had made up my mind. I was going to confront Damien once again. I hated this distance and the way he had shut me out so completely as if I meant nothing. Although, the way he had humiliated me in front of his men, still played on a loop in my mind. But despite the pain, despite the anger, I needed answers. I needed to understand why he was acting this way. So, the next morning, I made my way to his study. The heavy wooden door was closed, and something in my gut told me it was locked. Still, I lifted my fist and knocked. There was a moment of silence and followed by it was footsteps. The door creaked open, but it wasn’t Damien who stood there. It was Gemma. She leaned against the frame, with a smug smile curving her lips. "What do you want?" I swallowed the irritation rising in my throat. "I need to see Damien." Gemma let out a short laugh. "Damien doesn’t want to see you." My jaw clenched. "Let me pass, Gemma." She tilted her head."I can’t do that.

Alison A smirk took over my face as I walked down the hall. At each step I took all I could think of was how I was going to make sure I get back on track and help Aiden to get more information on Damien.“Alison!” Damien called out and I noticed that I had stopped walking.I picked up my steps, joining him in the car.The drive was suffocatingly silent. Damien hadn’t looked at me once. Not a single glance, and when he finally glanced my way he appeared irritated. That look made me feel emotions that I thought I had buried.“I didn’t want to feel this way,” I said to myself.I was meant to feel nothing, but from the looks of it the feeling had disappeared. Now, I felt everything.I forced myself to stare out the window, trying to block out those emotions. The roads grew quieter and darker the trees looked like shadows against the moonlight. There wasn’t any sign of any life form as we drove farther. Immediately after that realization hit me a strange feeling took over my gut. I want

Damien I stood there, the weight of my gun heavy in my hand, the barrel pointed straight at Alison. My finger hovered over the trigger, but my mind was elsewhere—dragged back to a week ago. That night had changed everything. I had arrived at the location my men told me about. It was a small home tucked away in the city. The moment I stepped inside, my eyes landed on Hugh. I didn’t waste time, I spilled everything that was in my mind. "You had no right to go against me," I said, my voice cold. "I told you to stay out of this investigation." Hugh sighed, standing up. "You need to stop acting like a damn fool, Damien. You should be thanking me for taking a bold step forward." “You doubled crossed me yet again. There’s nothing to thank you for.” He scoffed. “When you find out what I discovered you will be thanking me.” I narrowed my eyes. "What the hell are you talking about?" Hugh smirked. "I found the truth about your little lover." I clenched my jaw. "Why do you alw

Damien I roamed around the house, trying to keep my mind busy, but no matter what I did, my mind kept drifting back to Alison. Was she okay? Had everything gone according to plan? The thought of her being near Aiden made my skin crawl. I let out a frustrated sigh and ran a hand through my hair. I knew Hugh had really worked hard on this plan, calculating every move, but something didn’t sit right with me. I had this nagging feeling that something terrible was going to happen. Without thinking, I stepped out of the house and headed toward the garage. My eyes landed on an old car I hadn’t driven in years. It was covered in a thin layer of dust, but I knew it would still run. I walked over, brushing my fingers along the hood before pulling the door open. “I hope this works,” I muttered under my breath. Sliding into the driver’s seat, I turned the key in the ignition. The engine roared to life, and despite everything, I couldn’t help but smile. Without wasting another second,

Alison Later the next day, Hugh brought out a bottle of whiskey and poured drinks for all of us. He lifted his glass with a smirk. “To us,” he said. Damien raised an eyebrow but didn’t pick up his glass. “Let’s not celebrate too soon.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Come on, Damien. Have a little faith. Things are going to turn out just fine.” Damien scoffed, taking a slow sip from his glass. “That’s what you said last time we went up against Aiden. It didn’t exactly end well.” Hugh chuckled. “Touché.” He leaned back against the couch, stretching his legs out as he swirled the amber liquid in his glass. “You know, Alison, Damien wasn’t always the brooding, overprotective type. Back in the day, he was the one causing all the trouble.” I raised an eyebrow. “Oh really?” Damien let out a groan. “Hugh, don’t.” Hugh grinned, clearly enjoying himself. “Oh, I absolutely will.” He turned to me, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “There was this one time when we were kids—maybe fifteen

Alison Damien and I sat in the living room, the next day. While Hugh stood near a whiteboard, cigarette in hand, with a firm expression on his face. The faint scent of smoke curled around him as he flicked the ash onto the floor. Damien leaned back, eyeing the board. “I really want to know how you got that board.” Hugh exhaled a cloud of smoke. “Can we just focus on the plan?” Damien shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’s a little much.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Noted but I’m not going to do anything about it.” Damien furrowed his eyebrows but Hugh seemed not to notice. He tapped the cigarette against a nearby ashtray. “Now, let’s get started. First off, thank you for joining in, Alison.” His eyes locked on mine. “I know you’ve been through hell because of Aiden, and I don’t expect you to join but I’m glad you did.” I swallowed hard, my nails digging into my palm. “You don’t need to thank me I’m just doing what’s right.” Hugh nodded. “Good. Anyway, I intend to keep this pl

Alison The moment I rolled to the other side of the bed and found out it was empty. I sat up, quickly.“Damien!” I said, after realizing he wasn’t by my side.‘Where did he go?’ I asked myself. He couldn’t be in the shower because I couldn’t hear the water running.I didn’t want to stay alone, so I threw the covers off my body and went to look for him as I made my way toward the door the voices I heard on the other side of the door stopped me in my tracks. It was Damien and Hugh. They happened to be arguing. I pressed my ear against the door, listening, and the more I listened the more I realized they weren’t arguing they were just talking with loud voices. “You have to choose Damien it’s either her or your grandfather’s contact. To me, both are necessary.” I heard Hugh say. “This isn’t the time to focus on emotions Damien. We need her!”There was a beat of silence before Damien spoke, in a tone that was lower and more controlled. “I’m trying to be considerate.” Hugh let ou

DamienThe minute I passed the sign that welcomed us to the city. I felt a bit relieved.I drove through the streets, with so much speed I couldn’t wait to get to my destination and relax. I was exhausted. When we finally pulled up to the house, I glanced at Alison. Her head was leaning against the window, her breathing soft and steady. She was barely keeping her eyes open. I reached over, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Come on,” I murmured. “Let’s get you inside.”She stirred slightly but didn’t argue when I helped her out of the car. Her body clung to me like a second skin as I guided her up the stairs. The moment we stepped into the house, she mumbled something incoherent, already half-asleep. I smiled. “Alright, let’s get you to bed.”I led her to the bedroom, pulled back the covers, and eased her onto the mattress. She barely moved as I tucked her in. As I turned to leave, her hand shot out, gripping my wrist weakly. “Please can you stay with me?”“I’m not goin

AlisonThe car jerked to a sudden halt, jolting me from the haze of exhaustion that had settled over me. My body felt heavy, and sore from hours of being bound and blindfolded. The minute the car opened, I felt the cold air hit my face first, carrying with it the distant sound of passing vehicles. Were we on a main road? A city? Was this where I die, before I could process my thoughts, a firm hand gripped my arm. A second later, I felt the ropes around my wrists being yanked loose. Then the blindfold came off. I blinked rapidly as light flooded my vision. When I finally saw who was standing in front of me, my breath caught in my throat. “Oh my God…”I could barely get the words out. It was Damien. He had saved me.My body moved before I could think—I threw myself at him, my arms wrapping around his torso, holding onto him as if I needed proof that he was real.“Damien!” I finally woke.He let out a small chuckle, as he wrapped his arms around me. “Surprised?” he murmured

Alison I pulled my eyes open and I realized I was blindfolded. The black piece of clothing on my face made it difficult for me to see where I was and my wrists bound so tightly behind my back made it hard for me to take off the stupid blindfold. The only sounds I could make out were the low grunts of the men who were moving me around. Where were they taking me? And where was I?Suddenly I was dropped. Pain shot through my body as I hit the hard, cold floor. A groan slipped past my lips, but I barely had time to process the discomfort before the sound of heavy boots retreating filled the air. I swallowed, my throat dry. “Hello?” My voice wavered. “Who’s there?” There was no answer. The silence that followed made me realize I was all alone.I lay still, with my chest rising and falling with panicked breaths. My heart pounded so loudly that it drowned out the quiet. I had no idea where I was. And worse—I had no idea who had me. Regret churned in my stomach. I shouldn’t

Damien The moment I stepped into the mansion, I was shocked when I noticed that everywhere was quiet. I had expected to hear gunfire, shouting, and some sign of life. But instead, the only thing that greeted me was death. Bodies of my men were lined the front of the mansion. My hands tightened around my gun as I stepped past them, my pulse roaring in my ears. Where the hell was Hugh? I moved cautiously through the hallway, my gun raised, and my eyes scanning every shadow."Hugh?" I called out, my voice bouncing off the empty walls. There was no answer. I increased my pace, moving deeper into the mansion. My mind was already thinking about the worst, that something terrible might have happened to Hugh. It was during that moment I heard a sound. It was faint at first but then it became loud, it sounded almost like a groan."Hugh!" I called again, following the noise. This time, I heard him clearly. “Here…” His voice was hoarse, coming from one of the rooms upstairs. I
