Alison

Gemma’s voice followed me as I walked away, but I didn’t turn around.

“I know you don’t want to admit it Alison, but you know that I’m right!” She screamed. “Seeing me with Damien hurts you don’t it?”

I ignored her and kept on walking.

“You wish it was you, but it can’t be. It would never be you. You’re forever going to be the girl Damien uses.” She spat.

I blocked out her words as I increased my steps. Eventually, it died down once I stepped outside into the evening air.

The chilly breeze nipped at my skin, stiff and biting, and I instinctively hugged myself as I walked toward the garden.

The air out here felt different—calmer, quieter. It was the only place in this suffocating house where I could breathe.

I wandered toward the edge of the garden, with my hands touching the rose petals.

The wind tousled my hair, and for a moment, I closed my eyes, letting the stillness wash over me.

Gemma’s words replayed in my head tormenting me. I wanted it to stop.

The sound of her voice replaying in my head didn’t last long. During that moment, my phone buzzed in my pocket, and when I glanced at the screen, Aiden’s name flashed across it.

Anger took over my mind as I answered.

“Where have you been?” I snapped. “I’ve been trying to reach you for days, Aiden! I’ve sent you countless texts. Do you even check your phone?”

There was a pause on his end before he sighed.

“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice calmer than I wanted it to be. “I told you to keep me updated, and I’ve been meaning to get back to you, but things have been... hectic.”

“Hectic?” I repeated, my voice rising.

“Yes, I have been dealing with a lot of work stuff, but I’m not going to bore you with all that.” He said in a casual tone.

“So tell me how’s the mission going?” His words angered me even more.

“The mission is over, and you would have known that if you checked your messages!” I pointed out.

The line went silent, and I heard some movement before Aiden spoke up again.

“So this is what sparked the alliance!” he said quickly and from his words, I was aware that he was going through the messages.

“I think it’s time for me to pay Rodrigo a visit soon,” Aiden spoke up.

“What? Why?” I demanded.

“You’ll see,” he replied, his tone making it clear he wasn’t going to elaborate.

I clenched my teeth, trying to stop my frustration.

“Okay!” I said after a while. “Since the mission is over. Can I go home now?”

“No, you can’t.” His words caused my anger to return.”

“I’ve done everything you asked Aiden. I’ve gathered all the evidence you need on Damien. You know he’s trying to turn the gang against each other, and now with the new information about Edwardo and Rodrigo, you have plenty to work with. What else do you need from me?”

“You still need to gather more evidence,” Aiden said firmly.

I almost threw my phone into the bushes. “More evidence? Are you kidding me? I’ve been here for weeks, Aiden! I’ve risked my life for this! I’m tired of being here. Damien has made my life a living hell—especially when we were in the city. How much more do you want from me?”

“Don’t shout at me,” Aiden said sharply, his tone hardening. “You know how these mafia men operate. Little evidence isn’t enough to bring them down. You need to find something undeniable—something that can’t be refuted. Until then, you’re staying.”

His words hit me like a punch to the gut. “I’m tired, Aiden,” I said, my voice cracking. “I’ve said it so many times. I can’t do this anymore.”

“You’re doing this for your father,” he reminded me. “Don’t lose sight of that, Alison.”

The line went dead before I could respond, leaving me standing alone in the garden with the sound of Aiden’s voice still ringing in my ears.

I lowered the phone and muttered to myself, “fuck.”

The weight of his words pressed down on me, and I found myself staring at the ground, lost in thought.

A rustling sound jolted me from my thoughts, and I spun around, my heart leaping into my throat.

The leaves in the bushes quivered, but when I looked closer, I realized it was just the wind. I exhaled, shaking my head at my own paranoia.

The wind picked up, brushing against my skin, and I decided I’d had enough of the garden for one evening. Hugging myself tighter, I turned and headed back inside.

The house felt colder than the garden. As I walked down the hall, I could still feel Gemma’s mocking smile lingering in the back of my mind. Her voice echoed in my head, taunting me with words I didn’t want to hear.

I passed the room Damien had disappeared into earlier, the memory of his voice—his intimate whispers to Gemma—flashing in my mind. I hated that it bothered me. I hated that I cared. But most of all, I hated him for making me feel this way.

As I climbed the stairs to my room, I felt the familiar pang of loneliness settle in my chest. Damien’s silence over the past week didn’t bother me as much as it should have. If anything, I welcomed it. It gave me space to think, to remind myself of why I hated him and everything he stood for.

But even in his absence, he was everywhere. In my thoughts, in my dreams, in the way, Gemma’s presence seemed to linger like a shadow. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t escape him.

I closed the door to my room behind me, leaning against it for a moment before letting out a heavy sigh.

I glanced at my phone again, hoping for a message from Aiden, but there was nothing.

For a moment, I considered packing my things and leaving. Just walking out the door and never looking back.

But I knew it wasn’t that simple. As much as I hated being here, I couldn’t leave—not yet. Not until I had something that would finally let Aiden allow me to come home.

I sank onto the edge of the bed, my head in my hands.

The weight of everything was crushing, and for the first time in a long time, I let myself cry. Quiet, bitter tears that I wiped away as quickly as they came.

Damien Two fucking days had passed, and I was still monitoring Alison like a hawk.Gemma’s words replaying in my mind like an unwelcome echo fueled my actions. I told myself I was doing this to protect my operation, to figure out if there was any truth to Gemma’s accusations. But deep down, I knew there were other reasons. I wanted to be close to her. This morning I stood at the balcony, my arms resting on the cool metal railing as I stared down at Alison in the garden. She stood there, her arms wrapped around herself as the evening breeze played with her hair. There was something haunting about the way she moved—almost as if she carried a weight too heavy for her. During that time, I followed her around. I noticed her behavior had shifted—subtle things that most wouldn’t notice. The way she avoided looking me in the eye when I walked past her, the way she clutched her phone as if it held a lifeline, and the way she moved through the house quietly, wanting to be unnoticed. AlisonI hated being in this damn mansion. Every second I spent here, I felt like I was drowning.Damien was still avoiding me, and Gemma—God, Gemma—was as annoying as ever. The only peace I found was in the garden, where at least the air was fresh, and I could pretend for a little while that I wasn’t trapped in this never-ending nightmare. I stood among the roses, letting my fingers brush against the petals absentmindedly, trying to push away the thoughts clawing at the edges of my mind. The silence around me was comforting, but it didn’t last long. The sound of approaching footsteps made my shoulders stiffen. I turned around, and my eyes landed on Damien. He stood there casually, hands in his pockets, watching me with an expression I couldn’t read. “The weather is lovely, isn’t it?” he said. I blinked at him, confused. What the hell?“It is,” I replied slowly, unsure of where this was going. Damien nodded and looked up at the sky as if he truly cared about the weather. “My un

Alison I arrived at Damien’s study early, just as he’d instructed. The mansion was eerily silent at this hour, the only sound being the faint rustling of leaves outside. As I approached the study, I hesitated, my hand hovering near the door handle. That’s when I heard it. A low grunt. Followed by a moan. I froze. Another moan, this was louder than the first. My pulse quickened as I stepped closer, my curiosity betraying me. The door was slightly ajar, and against every rational thought in my mind, I peeked through the gap. Damien was naked. My breath caught in my throat. Gemma was bent over his desk, her hands gripping the wood for support as he thrust into her. The slow, controlled movement of his hips, the way his fingers dug into her waist—everything about the scene in front of me should have made me turn away. But I didn’t. Instead, heat coiled low in my stomach, and an unwelcome pulse of arousal ran through me. I was getting wet. ‘What the hell is wr

Alison Damien had told me the mission will be simple. Very simple. I should have known better than to believe him. Because here I was, back at the Perez mansion, my pulse hammering in my ears as I stared at the all-too-familiar estate that had nearly cost me my life the last time I was here. “What are we doing here, Damien?” I hissed, gripping the edge of my seat. “You said it was—” He cut me off before I could finish. “No more questions, get out of the car.” I blinked at him, mouth slightly parted in shock. “But I—“ “Don’t make me repeat myself, Ally.” His tone was sharp, and I knew there was no point in arguing. I exhaled through my nose, frustration growing inside me, but I did as he said. The cool night air hit my skin, and I crossed my arms over my chest, glaring at him. ‘I wouldn’t be silenced.’ I thought as I positioned myself in front of him. I needed answers. “Have you forgotten how things turned out the last time we were here?” I reminded him. “Because I sur

Damien We pulled up in front of the club, the neon lights casting a colorful glow on the car. I glanced at Alison, who shot me a confused look. "What's wrong?" I asked, smirking at her reaction. "Are we... really doing this?" she asked, her voice filled with hesitation. I leaned over the console and gave her a grin. "We had a successful mission. Time to celebrate, don't you think?" Her eyebrows furrowed, but she didn’t protest further. I stepped out of the car, moving around to her side, and opened the door. She hesitated for a moment, eyeing the club like it might bite. I could tell she wasn’t entirely comfortable with the idea, but I wasn’t about to let her off that easy. “Come on, Alison,” I said, offering her my hand. “Let’s go have some fun.” Reluctantly, she slid out of the car and followed me inside. The club was alive with energy. Music pulsed through the air, and the lights flickered in a chaotic rhythm, illuminating the bodies that moved in sync with the bea

I Alison My eyes fell on the drink I was once nursing avoiding Damien’s alluring stare. Once again, Damien had messed with my mind. It was almost like I was stuck in a loop, constantly coming close to something with Damien, but never really crossing the line. That moment, just before he leaned in to kiss me, left me yearning for more. But it wasn’t just that. It wasn’t just his touch or the way his presence seemed to consume me. It was everything. It was the tension between us, the way he could completely control the situation. Sighing, I let myself collapse into the seat, my hand resting on my lap. Damien, noticing my frustration, turned his head to look at me. That sly grin crept onto his face, the one that seemed to make him look so infuriatingly in control of everything. "What’s wrong?" he asked, in a calm voice. Almost too calm. The nerve of him, acting like nothing had happened. Just like what he did when he fucked Gemma in front of me. I wanted to scream at him

Damien The hours felt like they dragged on as I sat at the bar. I hadn't seen Alison for a while, and I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was wrong. I tried to convince myself that maybe I was just overthinking things, but I couldn’t get rid of that restless feeling within me. Where was she? And why was she taking too long?I stood up abruptly, tossing a few bills on the counter, not bothering to finish my drink. I needed to find her. I pushed through the crowd and made my way toward the restroom area, hoping to catch a glimpse of her, but there was no sign of her anywhere. I approached a lady coming out of the bathroom stall. “Excuse me,” I said, trying to remain calm, “Have you seen a woman about this tall? Long hair, wearing a dark dress?” I gave her the most detailed description I could muster. She looked at me, furrowing her brow, and shook her head. “Sorry, no one like that.” I raised up my brow, not convinced by her words. “Are you sure? She was with me

Alison Later the next day, Hugh brought out a bottle of whiskey and poured drinks for all of us. He lifted his glass with a smirk. “To us,” he said. Damien raised an eyebrow but didn’t pick up his glass. “Let’s not celebrate too soon.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Come on, Damien. Have a little faith. Things are going to turn out just fine.” Damien scoffed, taking a slow sip from his glass. “That’s what you said last time we went up against Aiden. It didn’t exactly end well.” Hugh chuckled. “Touché.” He leaned back against the couch, stretching his legs out as he swirled the amber liquid in his glass. “You know, Alison, Damien wasn’t always the brooding, overprotective type. Back in the day, he was the one causing all the trouble.” I raised an eyebrow. “Oh really?” Damien let out a groan. “Hugh, don’t.” Hugh grinned, clearly enjoying himself. “Oh, I absolutely will.” He turned to me, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “There was this one time when we were kids—maybe fifteen

The faint scent of smoke curled around him as he flicked the ash onto the floor. Damien leaned back, eyeing the board. “I really want to know how you got that board.” Hugh exhaled a cloud of smoke. “Can we just focus on the plan?” Damien shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’s a little much.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Noted but I’m not going to do anything about it.” Damien furrowed his eyebrows but Hugh seemed not to notice. He tapped the cigarette against a nearby ashtray. “Now, let’s get started. First off, thank you for joining in, Alison.” His eyes locked on mine. “I know you’ve been through hell because of Aiden, and I don’t expect you to join but I’m glad you did.” I swallowed hard, my nails digging into my palm. “You don’t need to thank me I’m just doing what’s right.” Hugh nodded. “Good. Anyway, I intend to keep this pl

Alison The moment I rolled to the other side of the bed and found out it was empty. I sat up, quickly.“Damien!” I said, after realizing he wasn’t by my side.‘Where did he go?’ I asked myself. He couldn’t be in the shower because I couldn’t hear the water running.I didn’t want to stay alone, so I threw the covers off my body and went to look for him as I made my way toward the door the voices I heard on the other side of the door stopped me in my tracks. It was Damien and Hugh. They happened to be arguing. I pressed my ear against the door, listening, and the more I listened the more I realized they weren’t arguing they were just talking with loud voices. “You have to choose Damien it’s either her or your grandfather’s contact. To me, both are necessary.” I heard Hugh say. “This isn’t the time to focus on emotions Damien. We need her!”There was a beat of silence before Damien spoke, in a tone that was lower and more controlled. “I’m trying to be considerate.” Hugh let ou

DamienThe minute I passed the sign that welcomed us to the city. I felt a bit relieved.I drove through the streets, with so much speed I couldn’t wait to get to my destination and relax. I was exhausted. When we finally pulled up to the house, I glanced at Alison. Her head was leaning against the window, her breathing soft and steady. She was barely keeping her eyes open. I reached over, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Come on,” I murmured. “Let’s get you inside.”She stirred slightly but didn’t argue when I helped her out of the car. Her body clung to me like a second skin as I guided her up the stairs. The moment we stepped into the house, she mumbled something incoherent, already half-asleep. I smiled. “Alright, let’s get you to bed.”I led her to the bedroom, pulled back the covers, and eased her onto the mattress. She barely moved as I tucked her in. As I turned to leave, her hand shot out, gripping my wrist weakly. “Please can you stay with me?”“I’m not goin

The minute the car opened, I felt the cold air hit my face first, carrying with it the distant sound of passing vehicles. Were we on a main road? A city? Was this where I die, before I could process my thoughts, a firm hand gripped my arm. A second later, I felt the ropes around my wrists being yanked loose. Then the blindfold came off. I blinked rapidly as light flooded my vision. When I finally saw who was standing in front of me, my breath caught in my throat. “Oh my God…”I could barely get the words out. It was Damien. He had saved me.My body moved before I could think—I threw myself at him, my arms wrapping around his torso, holding onto him as if I needed proof that he was real.“Damien!” I finally woke.He let out a small chuckle, as he wrapped his arms around me. “Surprised?” he murmured

Where were they taking me? And where was I?Suddenly I was dropped. Pain shot through my body as I hit the hard, cold floor. A groan slipped past my lips, but I barely had time to process the discomfort before the sound of heavy boots retreating filled the air. I swallowed, my throat dry. “Hello?” My voice wavered. “Who’s there?” There was no answer. The silence that followed made me realize I was all alone.I lay still, with my chest rising and falling with panicked breaths. My heart pounded so loudly that it drowned out the quiet. I had no idea where I was. And worse—I had no idea who had me. Regret churned in my stomach. I shouldn’t

Damien The moment I stepped into the mansion, I was shocked when I noticed that everywhere was quiet. I had expected to hear gunfire, shouting, and some sign of life. But instead, the only thing that greeted me was death. Bodies of my men were lined the front of the mansion. My hands tightened around my gun as I stepped past them, my pulse roaring in my ears. Where the hell was Hugh? I moved cautiously through the hallway, my gun raised, and my eyes scanning every shadow."Hugh?" I called out, my voice bouncing off the empty walls. There was no answer. I increased my pace, moving deeper into the mansion. My mind was already thinking about the worst, that something terrible might have happened to Hugh. It was during that moment I heard a sound. It was faint at first but then it became loud, it sounded almost like a groan."Hugh!" I called again, following the noise. This time, I heard him clearly. “Here…” His voice was hoarse, coming from one of the rooms upstairs. I
