Alison

I remained in a frozen state, still trying to come up with something to say. No single idea has popped up in my head and the man with the gun was shooting me a glare. My heart pounded violently as I stared at him.

“I wouldn’t ask you again!” The man spoke up finally breaking the silence. “Who the hell are you?”

I opened my mouth to answer, but nothing came out.

My silence only seemed to infuriate him more.

“Speak, or I’ll blow your brains out!” he yelled, stepping closer. His gun didn’t waver, his dark eyes narrowing at me as if daring me to say the wrong thing.

‘Come on, Alison!’ I begged myself. ‘Think of something!”

‘Anything!’

“I-I’m a friend of Rodrigo,” I blurted out as that thought crawled into my mind.

“mentirosa,” he spat, his lips curling in disgust. “Tell the truth!”

I was about to speak again, though I didn’t know what I’d say when a familiar voice caught my attention. I turned backward and my face landed on Damien.

Now, he shows up!

“She doesn’t answer to you,” Damien’s voice rang out.

I turned my head and saw him standing in the doorway, his expression unreadable. Relief washed over me, though it was quickly replaced by fear as I noticed the gun in his hand. Before I could process what was happening, Damien raised his weapon and fired.

The man in front of me fell, and I watched in horror as his lifeless body hit the ground. Another body followed—the second man who had been standing in the shadows, whose presence I didn’t notice until now.

The horrific look on my face grew, and I realized no matter how many times I watched Damien kill someone I could never shake off the weird feeling that reverberated through my body.

“Run,” Damien barked, snapping me out of my daze. “Someone’s coming!”

I didn’t need to be told twice. My legs moved before my brain could catch up, and I sprinted toward Damien’s car. He was right behind me, his hand gripping my arm as he urged me to move faster.

When we reached the car, I scrambled into the passenger seat. Damien slid behind the wheel, glancing backward before he started the engine.

I wondered what he was looking at until I noticed the man running in our direction.

Damien fired another shot, and without hesitation, he sped into the night.

As he drove, the silence between us was suffocating, and I didn’t have the energy to break it.

I should have been angry—furious, even—that he’d left me alone in that house. But I wasn’t. I was too used to Damien’s habit of disappearing and reappearing as he pleased.

“Did you find it?” he finally asked, his eyes fixed on the road.

“Yes,” I said, pulling out my phone. I opened the image of the contract I’d taken and handed it to him.

Damien glanced at the screen, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

He stopped the car, grabbing my phone from my hands. I watched as his smirk grew.

“Smart,” he murmured, more to himself than to me. “Edwardo knew Rodrigo was stepping into his territory and blackmailed him to comply. Clever bastard.”

He continued to talk to himself, murmuring words that seemed pretty important, but I wasn’t really listening.

My mind was still stuck on the events at Rodrigo’s mansion—the sound of the gunshots, the sight of the bodies falling to the ground.

When we finally pulled up at the house, I got out without a word. Damien didn’t stop me. I headed straight to my room, my body aching with exhaustion.

We returned to the highlands the following day and ever since our arrival Damien barely spoke to me, and I found myself oddly grateful for his silence.

I didn’t want to hear his voice, didn’t want to see his face. The way he’d treated me during the mission—the way he always treated me—only fueled the hatred I’d been trying to bury for so long.

I focused on Aiden. I haven’t heard from him in days. I couldn’t stop myself from checking my phone every few minutes, waiting for a message or a call from him. But there was nothing.

The days passed and Aiden’s silence persisted, and this only caused the knot in my chest to grow tighter.

Eventually, I decided I needed a break from my suffocating thoughts.

I left my room and wandered through the house, trying to clear my head. As I passed one of the rooms, I heard it—a sound that made me stop in my tracks.

Moans.

Curiosity—or perhaps something darker—drove me to lean closer to the door. The moans grew louder, accompanied by Damien’s voice.

“I missed you,” he murmured.

Then I heard him growl. “Fuck! You taste so good!”

A strange feeling twisted in my stomach. I hated myself for even thinking it, but I wished it were me in that room with him. I hated him, but some twisted part of me still wanted him.

Before I could walk away, the door swung open. Damien stepped out, his eyes meeting mine instantly. He paused, staring deeply at me before walking past me without a word.

I stood there, frozen, until another figure emerged from the room. Gemma.

Why did she get released?

The sound of Gemma’s footsteps drew me out of my thoughts.

I stared at her, watching as her lips curved into a sly smile.

“Well, well, if it isn’t the old flame,” she said in a bitter tone.

I didn’t respond. I turned to leave, but she followed me, grabbing my arm.

“Not so fast!” she sneered. “Don’t you want to know how well Damien fucks?”

I yanked my arm free, glaring at her. “I don’t, because I don’t care about you or Damien.”

My words were filled with lies and as I stared at Gemma. I realized she wasn’t buying them either.

She leaned forward, flashing me a smile. “I know it hurts you, Alison!”

I felt like wiping the smile off her pretty face, but I stopped myself. Gemma didn’t deserve my reaction. So I picked up my steps, not sparing her another glance.

Damien Two fucking days had passed, and I was still monitoring Alison like a hawk.Gemma’s words replaying in my mind like an unwelcome echo fueled my actions. I told myself I was doing this to protect my operation, to figure out if there was any truth to Gemma’s accusations. But deep down, I knew there were other reasons. I wanted to be close to her. This morning I stood at the balcony, my arms resting on the cool metal railing as I stared down at Alison in the garden. She stood there, her arms wrapped around herself as the evening breeze played with her hair. There was something haunting about the way she moved—almost as if she carried a weight too heavy for her. During that time, I followed her around. I noticed her behavior had shifted—subtle things that most wouldn’t notice. The way she avoided looking me in the eye when I walked past her, the way she clutched her phone as if it held a lifeline, and the way she moved through the house quietly, wanting to be unnoticed. AlisonI hated being in this damn mansion. Every second I spent here, I felt like I was drowning.Damien was still avoiding me, and Gemma—God, Gemma—was as annoying as ever. The only peace I found was in the garden, where at least the air was fresh, and I could pretend for a little while that I wasn’t trapped in this never-ending nightmare. I stood among the roses, letting my fingers brush against the petals absentmindedly, trying to push away the thoughts clawing at the edges of my mind. The silence around me was comforting, but it didn’t last long. The sound of approaching footsteps made my shoulders stiffen. I turned around, and my eyes landed on Damien. He stood there casually, hands in his pockets, watching me with an expression I couldn’t read. “The weather is lovely, isn’t it?” he said. I blinked at him, confused. What the hell?“It is,” I replied slowly, unsure of where this was going. Damien nodded and looked up at the sky as if he truly cared about the weather. “My un

Alison I arrived at Damien’s study early, just as he’d instructed. The mansion was eerily silent at this hour, the only sound being the faint rustling of leaves outside. As I approached the study, I hesitated, my hand hovering near the door handle. That’s when I heard it. A low grunt. Followed by a moan. I froze. Another moan, this was louder than the first. My pulse quickened as I stepped closer, my curiosity betraying me. The door was slightly ajar, and against every rational thought in my mind, I peeked through the gap. Damien was naked. My breath caught in my throat. Gemma was bent over his desk, her hands gripping the wood for support as he thrust into her. The slow, controlled movement of his hips, the way his fingers dug into her waist—everything about the scene in front of me should have made me turn away. But I didn’t. Instead, heat coiled low in my stomach, and an unwelcome pulse of arousal ran through me. I was getting wet. ‘What the hell is wr

Alison Damien had told me the mission will be simple. Very simple. I should have known better than to believe him. Because here I was, back at the Perez mansion, my pulse hammering in my ears as I stared at the all-too-familiar estate that had nearly cost me my life the last time I was here. “What are we doing here, Damien?” I hissed, gripping the edge of my seat. “You said it was—” He cut me off before I could finish. “No more questions, get out of the car.” I blinked at him, mouth slightly parted in shock. “But I—“ “Don’t make me repeat myself, Ally.” His tone was sharp, and I knew there was no point in arguing. I exhaled through my nose, frustration growing inside me, but I did as he said. The cool night air hit my skin, and I crossed my arms over my chest, glaring at him. ‘I wouldn’t be silenced.’ I thought as I positioned myself in front of him. I needed answers. “Have you forgotten how things turned out the last time we were here?” I reminded him. “Because I sur

Damien We pulled up in front of the club, the neon lights casting a colorful glow on the car. I glanced at Alison, who shot me a confused look. "What's wrong?" I asked, smirking at her reaction. "Are we... really doing this?" she asked, her voice filled with hesitation. I leaned over the console and gave her a grin. "We had a successful mission. Time to celebrate, don't you think?" Her eyebrows furrowed, but she didn’t protest further. I stepped out of the car, moving around to her side, and opened the door. She hesitated for a moment, eyeing the club like it might bite. I could tell she wasn’t entirely comfortable with the idea, but I wasn’t about to let her off that easy. “Come on, Alison,” I said, offering her my hand. “Let’s go have some fun.” Reluctantly, she slid out of the car and followed me inside. The club was alive with energy. Music pulsed through the air, and the lights flickered in a chaotic rhythm, illuminating the bodies that moved in sync with the bea

I Alison My eyes fell on the drink I was once nursing avoiding Damien’s alluring stare. Once again, Damien had messed with my mind. It was almost like I was stuck in a loop, constantly coming close to something with Damien, but never really crossing the line. That moment, just before he leaned in to kiss me, left me yearning for more. But it wasn’t just that. It wasn’t just his touch or the way his presence seemed to consume me. It was everything. It was the tension between us, the way he could completely control the situation. Sighing, I let myself collapse into the seat, my hand resting on my lap. Damien, noticing my frustration, turned his head to look at me. That sly grin crept onto his face, the one that seemed to make him look so infuriatingly in control of everything. "What’s wrong?" he asked, in a calm voice. Almost too calm. The nerve of him, acting like nothing had happened. Just like what he did when he fucked Gemma in front of me. I wanted to scream at him

Alison Later the next day, Hugh brought out a bottle of whiskey and poured drinks for all of us. He lifted his glass with a smirk. “To us,” he said. Damien raised an eyebrow but didn’t pick up his glass. “Let’s not celebrate too soon.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Come on, Damien. Have a little faith. Things are going to turn out just fine.” Damien scoffed, taking a slow sip from his glass. “That’s what you said last time we went up against Aiden. It didn’t exactly end well.” Hugh chuckled. “Touché.” He leaned back against the couch, stretching his legs out as he swirled the amber liquid in his glass. “You know, Alison, Damien wasn’t always the brooding, overprotective type. Back in the day, he was the one causing all the trouble.” I raised an eyebrow. “Oh really?” Damien let out a groan. “Hugh, don’t.” Hugh grinned, clearly enjoying himself. “Oh, I absolutely will.” He turned to me, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “There was this one time when we were kids—maybe fifteen

The faint scent of smoke curled around him as he flicked the ash onto the floor. He tapped the cigarette against a nearby ashtray. “Now, let’s get started. First off, thank you for joining in, Alison.” His eyes locked on mine. “I know you’ve been through hell because of Aiden, and I don’t expect you to join but I’m glad you did.” I swallowed hard, my nails digging into my palm. “You don’t need to thank me I’m just doing what’s right.” Hugh nodded. “Good. I sat up, quickly.“Damien!” I said, after realizing he wasn’t by my side.‘Where did he go?’ I asked myself. He couldn’t be in the shower because I couldn’t hear the water running.I didn’t want to stay alone, so I threw the covers off my body and went to look for him as I made my way toward the door the voices I heard on the other side of the door stopped me in my tracks. It was Damien and Hugh. They happened to be arguing. I pressed my ear against the door, listening, and the more I listened the more I realized they weren’t arguing they were just talking with loud voices. “You have to choose Damien it’s either her or your grandfather’s contact. To me, both are necessary.” I heard Hugh say. “This isn’t the time to focus on emotions Damien. We need her!”There was a beat of silence before Damien spoke, in a tone that was lower and more controlled. “I’m trying to be considerate.” Hugh let ou

I was exhausted. When we finally pulled up to the house, I glanced at Alison. Her head was leaning against the window, her breathing soft and steady. She was barely keeping her eyes open. I reached over, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Come on,” I murmured. “Let’s get you inside.”She stirred slightly but didn’t argue when I helped her out of the car. Her body clung to me like a second skin as I guided her up the stairs. The moment we stepped into the house, she mumbled something incoherent, already half-asleep. I smiled. “Alright, let’s get you to bed.”I led her to the bedroom, pulled back the covers, and eased her onto the mattress. She barely moved as I tucked her in. As I turned to leave, her hand shot out, gripping my wrist weakly. “Please can you stay with me?”“I’m not goin

The minute the car opened, I felt the cold air hit my face first, carrying with it the distant sound of passing vehicles. Were we on a main road? A city? Was this where I die, before I could process my thoughts, a firm hand gripped my arm. A second later, I felt the ropes around my wrists being yanked loose. Then the blindfold came off. I blinked rapidly as light flooded my vision. When I finally saw who was standing in front of me, my breath caught in my throat. “Oh my God…”I could barely get the words out. It was Damien. He had saved me.My body moved before I could think—I threw myself at him, my arms wrapping around his torso, holding onto him as if I needed proof that he was real.“Damien!” I finally woke.He let out a small chuckle, as he wrapped his arms around me. “Surprised?” he murmured

Where were they taking me? And where was I?Suddenly I was dropped. Pain shot through my body as I hit the hard, cold floor. A groan slipped past my lips, but I barely had time to process the discomfort before the sound of heavy boots retreating filled the air. I swallowed, my throat dry. “Hello?” My voice wavered. “Who’s there?” There was no answer. The silence that followed made me realize I was all alone.I lay still, with my chest rising and falling with panicked breaths. My heart pounded so loudly that it drowned out the quiet. I had no idea where I was. And worse—I had no idea who had me. Regret churned in my stomach. I shouldn’t

Damien The moment I stepped into the mansion, I was shocked when I noticed that everywhere was quiet. I had expected to hear gunfire, shouting, and some sign of life. But instead, the only thing that greeted me was death. Bodies of my men were lined the front of the mansion. My hands tightened around my gun as I stepped past them, my pulse roaring in my ears. Where the hell was Hugh? I moved cautiously through the hallway, my gun raised, and my eyes scanning every shadow."Hugh?" I called out, my voice bouncing off the empty walls. There was no answer. I increased my pace, moving deeper into the mansion. My mind was already thinking about the worst, that something terrible might have happened to Hugh. It was during that moment I heard a sound. It was faint at first but then it became loud, it sounded almost like a groan."Hugh!" I called again, following the noise. This time, I heard him clearly. “Here…” His voice was hoarse, coming from one of the rooms upstairs. I
