Lieutenant Phoenix Adler.

Thirty years old Former military officer, A lieutenant. Resigned from work four years ago. Single.

“I can say this name, as if it’s a chant.” I murmured softly and scrolled the g****e search. He’s a son of billionaires, brother of a rich CEO with different branches worldwide.

I heard a small purr below my feet and smile left my lips when I saw my pet, a savannah cat, moving around my feet.

“Oh, hello there my beautiful baby.” I said, softly. She meow-ed me, I lift her up and placed her to my lap, while caressing her soft fur. “Have you eaten my love?” I asked my cat softly and she purred again, that made me smile instantly. “Good girl, kiss Mommy.” I said, but she just looked at me and meow-ed again, bored.

“Aww, my baby is so sweet.” I giggled and lowered her on the ground. “Come on, let’s eat downstairs.” I walked to the vanity mirror and checked myself first before going out on the room. My cat is sophistically walking behind me, her tails wiggling softly on the air.

That’s why I love cats, so damn classy, just like me.

I was halfway on the stairs when I noticed a man walking behind us. I simply took a glance, and my eyes automatically widen when I saw this hot guy, who accidentally is my bodyguard, and this is the man I flirted with last night! Damn it, he wouldn’t remember me, right?  But I know, I saw him somewhere other than the bar, I saw him before but I can’t figure when was it.

I swallowed the lump on my throat, I took a quick glance to the guy again, and fix myself, I mean I’m standing. “I’m not going out, I’ll just feed tiger.” I told him. He remained standing there behind me, unmoving. I took a glance at my cat and creased his forehead. “Uhm, yeah, she’s a cat but it’s tiger, just wanted to name her something unique.” I explained.

He shifts his glance to the other side, still behind me. My mouth left opened in shock, he doesn’t even care what I said just now, heck, that’s offending. “Just wanted to say.” He did not respond, I stomped my feet, I saw him took a quick glance to me, but I didn’t bother and just went down with my cat.

I was frowning while walking through the kitchen, I feed my cat and sat on the stool while watching her eat. I bit my lips while looking at Phoenix who was standing there in the kitchen. He was tall, I guess six feet and some inches, hmm, I think five inches. He’s wearing a black suit with his long sleeves dress shirt and deep black tie. He’s also wearing slacks and shiny leather shoes, that fits beautifully on his body.

Is he serious? He’s a bodyguard? Like really? He doesn’t look a bodyguard for me on his suit! He looks a lot like a rich CEO going to his office for a board meeting.

He is lean and well built, look like he’s well trained since he was a former military officer, a lieutenant to be exact. His muscles are placed in all the right places, his jaw is clenching as he stared coldly somewhere, his green eyes are too brooding and dark that I can feel my body weakening with just a second looking at it. His lips were on the thin line, reddish and definitely sweet. I still can’t believe I tasted it last night.

He has a stubborn jaw, pointed nose and his hair was clean cut that highlights his sharp features more. He’s clearly outlined, effortlessly arrogant neat, and I heard from Dad that he used to be a military doctor, at his age? How the heck did he able to became one, that fast? How can he trained and study at the same time then quit that fast?

What’s your reason then Phoenix?

“Anyway, you don’t need to keep your eye on me twenty-four seven, I can protect myself. My father is just overreacting.” I told him. He did not answer, he was just staring at me blankly, so my forehead creased. “If you were awkWrend about what happened last night, forget it. We’re two matured enough adults, bear with me, I’m usually like that when I’m at the bar.” Lie, Lie.

I saw how his green eyes darken, his lip twitched and looked at me disapprovingly, what the heck is that kind of look? “Really. Huh? Kissing someone you just met?”” He’s insulting me, I can feel that, I don’t know why, but I feel so offended, I scoffed and rolled my eyes to hide that little pain inside my chest.

“Tiger, come on! Let’s swim!” I said and my cat stood, she purred and followed me, I noticed that he was walking with me on behind, “Why are you following me?!” I exclaimed and looked at him, “I was just going to my room! You’re overreacting!”

“I’m not following you.” He said.

“You’re following me!” I exclaimed

I notice that he looked annoyed, his jaw clenched, I heard him sighed, “I’m going out.” That’s when I saw that it’s the same way as the door.

I just rolled my eyes and went straight to my room to change to my swimsuit. That Jerk! I hate him! I hate his guts! I hate how he looked at me as if I was just someone he wishes not to see again, I hate it! I feel offended right now. What the heck!

I changed my clothes to a deep red plunging two-piece swimming and called my sister who’s with her own house right now, she has a husband.

“Hey Liana, what’s up? She greeted me when she answered my call.

“Lacy panty.” I sighed

“Damn you, Liana! Stop calling me that!” She scoffed, I can’t help but to smirked and shook my head.

“Okay, Lacynia.” I laughed, “Come here at our house.” I said.

“Oh, why? Is there any problem?”

“I have something to tell you.” I pouted, as if she can see that now.

“What? About what? Insecure girls? Perhaps guys?” She laughed. “I guess it’s the first one, you don’t have a boyfriend, if my memory serves me right, my dear sister.”

“You and your mouth.” I rolled my eyes, “It’s about a boy, okay?”

“Oh?!” She stopped talking for a moment, as if she can’t absorb what I have said, super over. “OMG! For real, Liana?!”

“Whatever, I told you, so yes.” I scratched my head.

“Shit! Okay, okay, I’m thrilled and curious, Liana!” She exclaimed, “I’ll be there in an hour!”

When our call ended, I sighed and wear a cover up before walking out of my room, tiger follo0wed me on my way to pool, I instantly stopped walking when I saw Phoenix talking to our driver, he was smiling, hay. What the fvck. I loudly cleared my throat; our driver shifted his gaze to me. “Good morning, Ma’am!” he greeted, smiling.

“Good morning, Nestor.” He’s our Filipino driver, and he’s so kind, he’s a hard-working guy, he’s our driver since I was grade school.

Phoenix was looking at me seriously, as always, I did not bother to look at him and just made my way to the pool. I saw my inflatable swan pool float at the side of me. I decided to put on my sunscreen and swam for a bit, I’m not really in the mood right now, it’s just I wanted to things, random things.

“Hey, Alder.” I called him, his forehead creased but still walk, he stopped near the pool. “Are you always this cold? Why’re you not smiling at me? I mean you smile at Nestor, even with Tiger!” I hissed, “You’re not that good looking!”

“Really?” suddenly, he spoke.

“Yes!” I groaned. I saw his lips lifted for a smirked, bit his lower lip and gave me a sarArrowtic look. “You just have that big booty booty!!” I said bluntly and he froze, I saw how his forehead crease at that. I felt the heat in my cheeks.

What the heck did you just said, Liana? You brat!

I can’t feel at ease after saying that, so I chose to swam to the other side of the pool, I took a deep breath and when I touched the concrete, I immediately got my ass up, I dried my face, opened my eyes and froze on the spot when I saw who was leaning on the side of the pool.

My eyes widen when I saw Alder, well I decided to call him Alder, anyway, I saw him, towering over me, on his squat position, waiting for me to get on that side of the pool.

“I should be thankful to my butt, then?” he scoffed darkly and my heart thumped like crazy.

“I-I mean...” I stuttered.

“Ma’am Liana!” I shifted my gaze to Lorna, our made who’s a year younger than me. Alder immediately stood up from when he was squatting. “Miss Lacy arrived along with Sir Ash.” She informed me; I even heard her chuckled.

“Yeah?” I gulped

“Yes Ma’am, he has some freshly flowers, I think it’s for you!” she giggled so I nod

“Okay, let them in, I’ll just dry myself.” I said and went to the stairs of the pool. I slowly got up, scared that I might slip, I held my hair, I was bothered by the water dripping through my hair, I looked at Alder, his face looked dark and scary, what’s his problem now? Jeez, he kind of hard to read.

I cleared my throat and combed my hair using my hand, while walking to greet my visitors when I felt a grip, it was his hand, I was too shock to even get off of his grip, then I felt a large, white towel on my shoulder and heard a voice.

“Get dress.” He said coldly

I quickly held the towel he put on my shoulder, I looked at him once again, he looks mad right now. “H-huh?”

“Get dress.” He commanded, my mind was too preoccupied that I just answer him with a nod, while looking at my hand which he was holding.
