Chapter 7.

AURELIA'S P.O.V

It had been three days since Thorne's visit to the hospital and to say I was unperturbed would be an understatement of the season. If his aims were to ruffle my feathers then he had been more than successful.

*Although, I cannot imagine how much more there is to see after that night Aurelia.* Those were his exact words, words which haunted me, kept me up at night which could only mean one thing. He remembered, and I had a feeling he wasn't gonna let it slide so easily.

Needing to take my mind off things, I decide to get a pet to keep me company. I couldn't always depend on Celia to keep me company knowing she had her own life to manage, so I was going to get a pet....my very own baby.

Soon enough, I had arrived at the pet shop and approached the lady behind the counter with a polite smile to which she returned.

"Hi, welcome to Milly's pet store. What can I do for you?" She chirped.

"Uh i'd like to get a pet."

"Alright, do you have any particular pet in mind? Cats, dogs, snake?"

I do a double-take at her to see if she was serious, her expression holding no ounce of humor which told me that she was serous. That is, not until she broke out into a fit of hysterics.

"Oh my God, chill out. I was just joking, you nearly had a heart attack" She said in between breaths as she tried to regain her composure, causing me to let a chuckle as I shook my head playfully.

"You almost had me, I'm Aurelia." I grin, stretching my hand out for a handshake which she accepted.

"Nora, it's a pleasure meeting you."

"Same here."

"Well, not to take up any more of your time c'mon, let me show you around." She remarked, rounding the counter as she leads the way into the store.

We had walked round the store for about 20 minutes, each time she told me about the pets I fell in love. I wanted to take each and everyone of them home but I couldn't. Finally, I settled on a whited-furred, blue-eyed persian cat. She was adorable, I named her Lucy and got her a name tag with her name which was imprinted on a gold chain and wrapped around her neck. Once everything was paid for and signed, I put her in her carrier carrying her on one hand while carrying my purse and cat food on the other head.

"Thanks for patronizing Aurelia, I hope to see you around." Nora waved cheerily at me.

"Same Nora, bye." I waved back while Lucy meowed, ugh she was so freaking cute.

Back home, I placed her carrier on the ground and opened it, letting her lose as she didn't waste a moment stepping out.

"Welcome home Lucy." Lucy all but ignored me, feeding her eyes as she walked majestically across the floors, surveying each and every corner of the house. Once I was done arranging her things and dishing out her food and water, I head into my room stripping off my clothes and heading into the shower to get a much needed bath. The cool water soothed my nerves, I could feel the knots in my muscles instantly releasing as I sighed in satisfaction.

Stepping out of the shower with a towel wrapped around me, I walk towards my vanity table when my phone rings out. Picking it up I see that it's Cooper calling.

"Hi babe."

"Hi baby, what you up to?"

"Nothing really, just stepped out of the shower. Got home a few minutes ago after getting my new baby."

"Your new baby eh, what about me?" He asks childlishly causing an unladylike snort escape me, he could be such a big baby sometimes.

"Oh I dunno, you're my old lover." I replied, playing along as I sit before the mirror pulling out my blow dryer, pulling it and then blow drying my hair.

"Very funny, anyways tell me really. What have you been up to?"

"I got a pet, a cat and she's so adorable."

"Ouuu a cat, why though?"

"I just felt like, you know with the house being lonely and Celia having to work a lot more these days, I felt the need to get a companion." He hums in understanding, keeping silent for a moment as I head over to my closet, looking through my clothes and selecting an oversized tee with boy shorts.

"Yeah, so actually I wanted to ask you something. Would you like to go on a date with me?" He asked carefully as scared that I'd refuse.

"A date huh? Sure, when?"

"Now." I halt in my tracks, not sure I had heard him properly.

"I'm sorry did you just say now?"

"Yeah, what's the problem? Are you busy?"

"No, not really. But I mean it's sort of sudden. Have you been planning this since without telling me? What if I was busy or I dunno? I had an appointment or had something important to do." I remark, slight irritation lacing my words

I hear him sigh from the other end of the line, "I'm sorry baby, I didn't think about that. It's just.." He pauses, "It's just, I felt like we've not really had time to ourselves lately. It's been a while since we went out on a date together. Did something together as a couple. And I dunno, I just wanted to do something special for you."

"But nevermind, i'll just cancel." He continues when I don't say anything, I could hear the disappointment in his tone which made me feel guilty. He hadn't done anything wrong by wanting to treat me to dinner. Perhaps it'd be good for me, take my mind off things and by things i mean Thorne.

"No no no, I'm sorry baby. Of course I'll have dinner with you."

"Really?" I could hear the excitement in his voice.

"Yeah really."

"All right baby, what do you say about picking you up in an hours time?"

"Sounds perfect to me."

"Great, and one more thing baby. Dress sexy." And with that he cut the call. Right, now about that date....
