Reconciliation

Bright in the morning, Rose had prepared herself to leave the castle. The maids were all frightened of her and the situation in the castle was horribly tense. No one appeared friendly anymore, no servant wanted to smile to her, as if with the arrival of Lord Benjamin, Leon’s uncle, they were torn between which side they should support.

Rose had left her room, walking toward the hallways only for her to hear the two maids who were sweeping on the silent hallway chattering intensely. They appeared quite into the conversation that they didn’t notice Rose who had stood near them.

“I’m deadly sure Lord Benjamin would support young master Shawn as the next duke. Knowing how powerful Lord Benjamin is and his support, I’m sure it wouldn’t be long before young master Shawn gained more supporter. Meanwhile young master Dominic had no one instead of himself. No family who would support him and his fiancée is a woman who came from a village.”

The other maid quickly hushed her as she spoke louder.
