LOGINShe instantly realised her mistake and looked back at Nancy, like a kid caught stealing. Nancy looked away, shame and fear clouding her eyes due to being helpless. Inaayat started cleaning her collarbone area gently. "Ahhhh..." Nancy yelled in pain. Inaayat stopped mid-motion. The cloth froze in her hand. Instead of keeping going she stopped for a while. Nancy's lips wobbled and she turned her face away to hide tears. Inaayat resumed and this time her touch was feather-light. When Inaayat finished cleaning her wounds, she took the bowl and cloth away. When she returned back she saw Nancy trying to sit up again and Arjun immediately asked her. "What happened?" He asked her, ready to tell her to keep laying still. "Washroom..." Nancy let out in her painful voice and before she could even move more he stopped her. "You can't go like this... Let me help you." Arjun said. Nancy wanted to say no but she knew he was saying right and Inaayat wasn't strong enough to support her in the bat
They were different from each other and their worlds are apart. They can't belong to each other's worlds. Neither Inaayat can go to that place where she has to survive between gangsters and smugglers who are always greedy and out for blood; nor Ryker could stay here and live like a simple man because the darkness of the mafia world doesn't let him live in peace. That darkness would hunt him down from anywhere and that would again affect Inaayat. Ryker looked at him and his jaw clenched knowing what he was thinking and the irony was, he knew that he wasn't wrong either and he was afraid too of that thing. He slowly drew back from Inaayat and then Arjun walked inside gaining her attention. There was a pin drop silence in the room and tension between them thick. The room suddenly felt too small... too full of words none of them dared to speak. Arjun came inside the room and glanced at Ryker for a second before walking to the couch in the corner, and he sat there. Ryker also guided her
Nancy laid there unconscious, bandages around her head and arms, bruises were dark against her skin. She looked so fragile- nothing like the fiery, strong woman everyone has always seen. Inaayat's eyes burned with tears and she slowly turned her head to Ryker who also felt her gaze and looked back at her. His cold gaze which was looking at Nancy softened as soon as he saw those tears again in her eyes. 'Aap ne unhe itna kyun maara? Dekhiye, kitna dard ho raha hoga unhe. Unhe kitni chot aayi hai.' she said in her mind to him but he could clearly read it with the expressions on her face, what she was thinking. (Translation: Why did you hit her so hard? Look how much pain she must be in. She's so hurt.) It broke something inside him. He felt so helpless that no matter how much he tried to save her from the world he couldn't save her from his own darkness. He could clearly see how much his actions affect her and bring tears to her eyes. He brushed the tears away and shook his head in d
"Par hamein jaana hai. Wo bohot acchi hain, humse acche se baat karti hain aur hum par kabhi chillati bhi nahi hain. Aap hamein kyun nahi jaane de rahi?" She replied, her voice trembling with earnest sincerity. (Translation: But I want to go. She is so kind, she talks to me nicely and doesn't even yell at me. Why aren't you letting me go?) Ryker stared at her, seeing the guilt swirling in her eyes even if she didn't know it herself. She cared too much for everyone. She was too good for the world. He cared for Nancy too but violence and anger in him kept coming out again and again. In front of his rage, he becomes blind but this time he wasn't guilty of hurting her because she put Inaayat's safety at stake. He looked away, struggling against his own instincts. "Bacche, aap ne dekha kal maine kya kiya tha. Aap darr jaati hain mujhse jab main gusse mein hota hoon aur use dekh kar mujhe fir se gussa aayega." He said, his voice was low, almost pleading. She swallowed. (Translation: Kid
The next morning, the haveli was completely silent still shaken by Ryker's wrath and Nancy's painful whimpers. The haveli people felt them as outsiders after having no role in yesterday's whole confrontation drama but they know best to put their nose in someone else's business when that someone else is close to Arjun, their son. In front of him they try to act like the most innocent people on the planet. While Urvashi also tries to hide all her hatred and jealousy towards Inaayat in front of him. Warm sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, painting the room in a soft golden gaze. Dust motes glittered like tiny enchanted stars suspended in air. The world outside had just begun to stir, but inside the room everything was still and calm. Only the soft breathing of two humans could be heard in the room. The warm sunlight falling upon the bodies sleeping peacefully, as if blessing them in the early morning with its warmth. It was early morning and as usual Inaayat started to stir
Ryker's eyes softened at her weeping. She was crying like a kid, not like he had handled a kid before but he knew. His jaw set in anger on himself that he should have made sure of her absence before getting violent. She shouldn't have witnessed all of this. She shouldn't have seen that blood and anger of his. She shouldn't have been in that state of mind she was in. How could he make her understand that he can't explain anything lovingly or calmly to anyone, except her. His patience, calm and softness is only reserved for her only and her questions were leaving him speechless as always. He knows every answer of a question you could possibly ask him but his tongue always gets tied when she questions something to him. Her questions used to be so innocent that she doesn't know how to answer them and justify his cruelty in front of her because she won't be able to understand it. She sees everything well in any situation but he doesn't. "Mujhe maaf kar dijiye, bacche. Main ab se ais
