Elizabeth was raised by her mother, her father had died when she was a baby. There were no pictures of him in the house and bringing him up left her mother in tears, so she hadn’t asked about him in years. He was always on her mind though, like there was some link there she couldn’t understand. Was that the voice she always heard in her head? Was her dad reaching out to her? Was he even dead? She quickly put those thoughts aside. “That’s just silly’ she murmured to herself “he’s dead, people don’t talk to the dead...normal people anyway”. Elizabeth had always felt something was different about her she could just never put her finger on what it was. Her birthday was two days away and she was so excited to finally be eighteen. Tomorrow was her last day of high school and she was so relieved. Having no friends and no one to talk to had made the last few years difficult. It wasn’t that she was unlikeable, she was just odd. Most kids stayed away because they could feel something different about her and that made her the least popular girl in school. Home life wasn’t much better, her mother worked a lot so was never home, leaving Elizabeth to take care of herself. She didn’t have a car, so she never really went anywhere.
As she rode the bus to school, she let her mind wonder to how life would be different after today. No more high school and she wasn’t going to college, not that she didn’t have the grades or ambition, they just didn’t have the money. Not that it bothered her, she knew her mother felt badly about it but she did the best she could just to keep a roof over their head. The school day went as it always did, quiet. It was only a half day but Elizabeth couldn’t wait to get home.
She was surprised to see her mom's car in the driveway when she got home, normally her mom is at work. “Hey sweetie!’ her mom yelled from the kitchen. “hey mom why aren't you at work? Are you ok?” Elizabeth questioned her concerned. Lily chuckled “I just wanted to spend time with you and talk about your birthday.” Shock filled Elizabeth’s face “oh! Mom it's no big deal I’m happy just staying home.” Lily shook her head at her daughter “honey your turning eighteen, how about instead of staying home we go shopping. I took the day off, maybe we can get something nice for you to wear to graduation!” She looked so happy Elizabeth just couldn’t say no “Sure that would be awesome! And maybe a new pair of shoes?” looking down at her feet and seeing the worn-out Nikes' she has had for the past three years. Lily felt guilty for not being able to do it sooner “absolutely honey. And I am so proud of you and the woman you have become.” pride showing in her eyes at this amazing woman standing in front of her. “okay, well im going to head upstairs and put my stuff away and read for a bit” Elizabeth could tell her moms’ mind was somewhere else, so she went upstairs quiet as a mouse. Lily had kept a huge part of her life from her and looking at her now, she couldn’t tell if she did the right thing. But now she’s wondering if it’s too late to tell Elizabeth the truth. How would she even start explaining it to her. “oh hey honey just wanted to tell you I lied, your father is alive and happens to be a ware-wolf, which means your half ware-wolf. I wanted to give you a different life so I left your father and our mate bond behind so you wouldn’t grow up in that world.” Yeah, that would go over well.
After what feels like forever, Elizabeth makes her way out of the tub, not bothering to get dressed she heads towards the bed where Brian is waiting with a coy smile plastered on his face. "Don't get any ideas wolf-boy" Elizabeth scolds looking at Brian. Clearing his throat, he asks her "feeling better?" to which she smiled and replied "much". Smiling back, he pats the bed next to him "good now come here.". Shaking her head Elizabeth climbs into bed, feeling Brians arms wrap tightly around her she signed peacefully not knowing how life could get any better. Morning came before they knew it. E
Elizabeth followed Violet out of the dining room to begin learning about her future as well as her past. Luna Violet could tell Lizzy was nervous and could understand why. Violet knew Elizabeth grew up knowing nothing about the world she was just thrown into, no idea who she was or where she came from or what was happening and would happen to her. She was determined to teach her as much as she could before she stepped down as Luna and Elizabeth steps up. Violet knew Elizabeth was more than capable, I mean she did have beta blood in her. Violet had known Jason for years. Jason is Alpha Evans’ beta and had been since the beginning. She also knew Lily when her and Jason first started out all those years ago. It was just by chance that Jason and Lily ever even met. That was a time before Evan was Alpha or even with her, they were just teens. Jason had just turned eighteen, Evan was sixteen and I was seventeen we all decided to go have some fun at a local
Chapter 9 After dinner Brian and Elizabeth went for a walk, where they were approached by Jason. “I’m sorry for interrupting your night, but I had a question for Lizzy” he said to the pair. Brian nodded and turned to leave until Jason grabbed his arm to stop him “I think you should be here too.” Jason said startling Brian. They both stared at him curious. Jason turned to Elizabeth, “Lizzy, you just turned eighteen, you just learned about wolves, you have never shifted, and I
Elizabeth was still asleep and had no idea what was going on around her, all she knew was she couldn’t move, hear or see anything. The last thing she could remember was screaming when she found a letter on her dresser, she didn't even know where she was right now or where Brian was. Then she looked around in the dark space surrounding her and that's where she saw them, the big red eyes that had been haunting her dreams for as long as she could remember. No one ever said anything, it was just always those red eyes staring at her in the dark. She tried to get away from them but they always stayed, watching. Andrew sat on his throne waiting to hear what he already knew. He knew she was still asleep for he was watching her in her dreams. He had taught himself how to use his gift to see her in her sleep since he couldn't see her awake. This was how he was going to make her fall in love with him and chose him over that good for nothing Brian. Just thinking of Brian and Elizabeth, His Eliz
The day went on and everyone was on edge waiting for the test results to come back. After what seemed like forever the doctor walked into the room and everyone jumped up at the same time. “What is it doc?” Jason asked extremely curious to find out the results. Doc smiled at him then looked to Lily “You said you were not a shifter, is that right?” he asked in a questionable tone. Lily was taken aback for a brief second, nodding her head once she finally snapped out of the shock his question had put her in. “Well from what we can tell by the blood work you must be at least half shifter, as for you Jason you show that you are full shifter. From what we can tell from the blood results is first she is indeed your child and shares a fair amount of both your DNA. That being said she still has us all racking our heads trying to figure out what she is. She has the wolf gene but also has whatever it is that Jason is and what we presume to be her mother’s shifter blood which is also to be determ
Brian rushed Elizabeth to the pack hospital. On his way there he mind linked Alpha Evan and Austin to meet him there. Concerned Lily and Jason hurried there to find out what happened to their daughter. Seeing his mate fall to the ground unconscious scared Brian and his wolf, not knowing what else to do he picked her up and ran, grabbing the note on his way out of the door. When everyone was finally there, they all saw Elizabeth laying in a bed hooked up to machines. Jason was furious “WHAT HAPPENED” he yelled at no one in particular. Brian still shaking from everything that came to light this morning held up the note to which lily gasped. “How?” was all Evan could say. “I don’t know dad; we woke up and it was on the dresser and it wasn’t there last night we checked the whole room before going to bed. Liz was having nightmares all night but I never got to hear what they were about because she collapsed after reading this.” he said holding the note up. Evan took the note from him and re
The group ran to the pack house as quickly as they could, which being wolves was pretty fast. As soon as they got in the door everyone knew something was seriously wrong. “What happened out there?” Lily asked Jason. “Elizabeth shifted for the first time, and we all felt a presence of something or someone we didn’t recognized the scent of and then a howl came out of nowhere not far from where we were. If they saw Lizzy shift, we may have a problem.” Jason said with a tone of sadness in his voice. Lily was confused “Jason what do you mean? What happened?” Jason looked around finding the Alphas eyes “can we use your office? It’s a little more private we don’t need the pack worried about things they might not even have to be worried about.” He said in a matter-of-fact tone. Evan looked at if he was about to say the same thing, nodding his head and motioning towards his office door they all started to head there. Elizabeth stopped mid step and looked to Brian “can we go to our room first I
